    Amenities that delight women

The guest rooms and large public baths are well-equipped with amenities, which delighted my daughter. Post-bath treats like Yakult and ice cream were a nice touch. While the wide range of options for women was impressive, the standard yukata as in-room wear felt slightly underwhelming. The staff were friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service. We only had breakfast during our stay, but the buffet offered a wide variety of dishes that left us satisfied. For dinner, we ate out; however, since the hotel is quite far from downtown areas and we had been sightseeing all day, I ended up feeling quite tired from all the walking!

The meals were delicious, and the Onsen was great!

The hotel's location is close to Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle, allowing for a refreshing morning walk. Afterward, I returned to the hotel to enjoy a delicious breakfast, followed by a relaxing soak in the Onsen, making for a leisurely start to the day. The highlight was undoubtedly the dinner. Wanting to savor local Kanazawa cuisine, I chose the Sanraku Kaiseki course featuring both fish and meat. The meal included famous Japanese sake as an aperitif, an assortment of appetizers showcasing Kanazawa flavors, soup, sashimi, Noto beef sirloin grilled over charcoal, abalone grilled directly over fire, snow crab (zuwaigani), and nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) rice. Every dish was incredibly delicious. For dessert, I enjoyed nerikiri wagashi from Yoshihashi—an exquisite treat that was also delightful. (After dinner, I had the pleasure of listening to violin and piano performances in the lounge.) The Onsen water had a silky texture that left my skin feeling smooth; I couldn't resist taking multiple baths. The room was comfortable and serene—perfect for relaxation. Higashi Chaya District is also nearby; with luggage storage available at the hotel as a base for sightseeing. The hotel staff were exceptionally kind. This trip turned out wonderfully—thank you! I look forward to staying here again next time!

    Hotel with exceptional hospitality

A hotel with a retro atmosphere featuring stained glass in the lobby and guest rooms. The staff provided warm and attentive service, making the stay very comfortable. The large public bath offers sodium hot springs, and the renovated bathroom facilities in the guest rooms were exceptionally clean. Services were abundant, including welcome drinks in the lobby, complimentary Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and free beverages (beer, juice, water, tea) in the room's refrigerator. Breakfast featured a variety of vegetable-based dishes resembling traditional Japanese "obanzai," grilled nodoguro fish, and flavors that reflect Noto's local charm. A shuttle bus from Kanazawa Station was available for convenience on departure as well. This hotel beautifully preserves its vintage architecture while offering exceptional hospitality for a truly pleasant stay.

    Summer in Kanazawa

Visiting Kanazawa several times a year. Usually, I stay at the affiliated Hotel SANRAKU, but this time, due to a request to enjoy an Onsen, I chose this accommodation. The exterior and interior have a historical feel but are well-maintained and clean without any discomfort. What stands out the most is the service—especially from the gentleman at the front desk. It was exceptional, rivaling that of a first-class hotel. A very pleasant check-in experience. The Onsen water was smooth and great for the skin. It retained warmth well (though it made me sweat in summer!), so it must feel even better during wintertime. After bathing, there were not only water dispensers but also various drinks and ice cream available—absolutely fantastic! If I had to mention one downside... At check-in, I was told that towels were provided in the large public bath area; however, they weren’t there when needed... Other than that minor issue, my stay was highly satisfying. From now on, I’ll make this my regular accommodation!

    Satisfying Breakfast

Having stayed at KANRAKU the previous night, the accommodation gave an impression of being a well-aged establishment in terms of its facilities. While it may have lost some of the charm I had imagined years ago when researching it, the Onsen's water quality was excellent, with a comfortable temperature that made for a pleasant experience. Improving the usability of the changing room could enhance overall comfort even further. The breakfast was neither abundant in quantity nor visually extravagant, and the venue itself felt dated; however, every dish was delicious and high-quality, bringing a smile to my face. It truly lived up to its reputation as an exceptional breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to try everything. I look forward to revisiting this accommodation during winter in Kanazawa!

A Hotel I Always Wanted to Stay At

When visiting Kanazawa, I used to stay at a different hotel in the same chain. However, the onsen was very appealing, so I chose this accommodation this time. The best part was the dinner—it was absolutely delicious. The room felt a bit small, but with complimentary use of the refrigerator and well-stocked amenities, it was comfortable. I also appreciated that bath towels and towels were provided in the bathing area. Many hotels require you to bring your room towels to the bath, which can be inconvenient when using a wet towel multiple times after visiting an onsen repeatedly—this setup eliminated that stress. There were also drinks and ice cream available after bathing, which I enjoyed each time I visited the onsen. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    Perfect for a family trip!

My son was feeling slightly unwell, but we were still able to enjoy the delicious meals. As part of our daily routine for gut health, we drink Yakult, and it was refreshing to have it after a bath, allowing us to continue our activities as usual. The staff provided helpful suggestions and promptly answered any questions about the destination, making our trip enjoyable. Although the building is old, we noticed thoughtful renovations throughout that made us feel at ease. Lastly, my son was thrilled to meet his favorite Rody character. Although the Kutani ware workshop was closed for its day off and we couldn’t tour it, we were happy to see some pottery pieces that had caught our interest. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!

    Conveniently located for sightseeing!

I traveled with my mother this time, and since we didn't have a car, I thought being close to the station would be convenient. In conclusion, choosing this Hotel was an excellent decision, and we were very satisfied. The retro and charming atmosphere seemed Instagram-worthy, so I assumed there would be many young women staying here. However, I was surprised to see many older guests as well. There were some foreign visitors too, but probably not that many overall. I didn’t have high expectations for the Onsen initially, but surprisingly after bathing in it, my skin felt smooth and rejuvenated. My tired feet from sightseeing were also soothed in the spacious bath area—it was incredibly relaxing and satisfying! They even provided ice cream and Yakult after bathing—such thoughtful hospitality! We chose a dinner-included Plan which featured delicious local cuisine prepared by the chef with a delightful surprise touch—it was truly amazing! I specifically selected a Room with retro stained glass windows because I wanted to stay in such an ambiance; it turned out to be a corner Room that was very quiet and peaceful—perfect for relaxation. The location is extremely convenient as you can walk to Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle Ruins, or Higashi Chaya District easily on foot. We also managed to visit the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art by walking—all major attractions are nearby! This Hotel left such a wonderful impression on us that we’d love to stay here again when visiting Kanazawa next time. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

The Hotel was conveniently located for accessing tourist attractions. Stepping into the grand exterior, likely built during the bubble era, I was overwhelmed by the nostalgic Taisho-era interior design. The staff, though young, were very attentive and always smiling—thank you for your kind hospitality. The public bath might be a bit small, but it’s well-equipped with a sauna and cold bath. Above all, the food was exceptional! The variety at the buffet made me genuinely happy. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Kanazawa. Thank you very much!

    Comfortable Hotel

I stayed here for a trip with friends after a long time. The location of the Facility is, of course, excellent, but I was also very satisfied with the spaciousness of the Room, the quality of amenities, and the bath facilities. I usually travel with my family, but this time staying at such a wonderful Hotel made my trip with friends even more special. Thank you very much.

    Established Inn

The women's bath features showerheads and hairdryers from renowned brands, along with a variety of shampoos, which have been highly praised. While many accommodations now require guests to bring towels from their rooms to the bath, the neatly stacked towels in the bath area were a refreshing touch. It would be helpful if similar skincare products provided in the bath area could also be available in the room. The room was neither overly luxurious nor too simple, exuding a sense of tradition and offering a calm and elegant atmosphere. However, it would be appreciated if it were slightly brighter to create an environment suitable for reading. The breakfast buffet offered diverse and delicious options, including local specialties. Dinner initially seemed modest in portion but was satisfying and filling overall.

    This was my second stay.

I revisited because I had a good impression last time. The Onsen was brownish before, which made me feel like I was really enjoying an Onsen, but this time it was almost clear, which was a bit disappointing. One thing that puzzled me last time as well is that while the Room has pump bottles of shampoo and body soap, there are also small-sized versions of the same products for each person. However, cleansing products and basic skincare items like lotion are not in the Room but only available in the public bath area. Since access to the public bath is limited by time, I wish basic skincare items were also provided in the Room instead of duplicating shampoo and body soap. I found out after checking out and walking around Kanazawa Castle that you can see fireflies near the Hotel. It would have been nice if they had mentioned this when I asked about nearby attractions during check-in. The walls seemed thin as I could hear an alarm from the neighboring Room past 6 AM along with other noises. Also, it felt awkward to open my curtains since other Rooms were easily visible from my window. Despite these disappointments, breakfast was delicious!

    Beautiful stained glass.

I stayed in the Romantic Room. Both the stained glass in the lobby and the room were beautiful. It's rare to find such a hotel, so I’m glad I chose to stay here. Additionally, there were thoughtful services that made me feel welcomed, and the location was excellent for sightseeing.

    Highly Satisfied

A mother-daughter trip with my 77-year-old mother. The stay included two meals, and the Room was under the Romantic Plan. We arrived in the early afternoon, and they kindly stored our luggage and even provided helpful advice for sightseeing around town. The stained glass in the lobby and the Kutani ware atmosphere were stunning. We refreshed ourselves with a welcome drink before heading out. Dinner featured local specialties like Nodoguro fish and Jibuni stew, paired with local sake. Everything was truly delicious, right down to dessert. The sweets in our room and the fresh confections served at dinner were from renowned Kanazawa shops. After dinner, we went searching for fireflies. I never imagined we could see fireflies in such an urban area! Back at the hotel, we enjoyed soothing piano music in the lobby before heading to Onsen baths. The water quality was excellent; they provided Refa hair dryers, a shampoo bar, as well as post-bath treats like orange juice, Yakult drinks, and ice cream—everything you could ask for. Our Room had beautiful stained glass accents; I was pleasantly surprised that even drinks from the fridge were complimentary. The next morning began with an early stroll through Kenrokuen Garden during its free opening hours from 4:00 AM until 15 minutes before regular opening time. Unlike daytime visits, it was serene with birdsong amidst lush trees and moss—a truly calming experience. Breakfast was buffet-style featuring Kanazawa specialties like grilled Nodoguro fish and Kanazawa oden alongside a variety of Japanese-Western dishes. Even tableware such as rice bowls, soup bowls, chopsticks, or teacups reflected Kanazawa’s charm with Kutani ware or lacquer adorned with gold leaf—guests could choose their favorites to use! Every dish tasted amazing; even something simple like tofu left a lasting impression. This stay turned out to be absolutely wonderful! There are still many places I’d love to explore in Kanazawa so I hope to return again soon. All staff members were kind throughout our visit—we never felt uncomfortable once during our stay here. Thank you very much!

    The hostess's hospitality is exceptional!!

Since my mother has a small appetite, we requested smaller portions in advance. Even so, understanding that she might not finish a full course meal, the dishes were served almost all at once, allowing her to enjoy only what she liked. She was very satisfied. The ingredients and seasoning were excellent. Perhaps because the day before our stay coincided with the Hyakumangoku Festival, when we asked about a nearby firefly event promoted by the accommodation, there was a temporary staff member who couldn't provide an answer, which was disappointing. However, the proprietress quickly stepped in to assist us. Overall, while the facility is somewhat dated, thoughtful touches like ReFa showerheads in all areas of the large public bath and an all-inclusive service made for a very comfortable stay. Located next to Kenrokuen Garden with abundant nature around it, it was truly a wonderful accommodation!

    Beautiful stained glass.

The stained glass in the lobby is beautiful, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The location is convenient, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and satisfying. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options and starts early at 6:30 AM, which was great. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks, including coffee, which was an impressive service. The bath area was pleasant, even offering ice cream and yogurt. The Room was lovely, making the stay truly enjoyable and satisfying. It’s a Hotel that lives up to its high ratings and exceeded expectations. Thank you very much!

    The service was excellent.

When we first saw the exterior of the Hotel, we felt a slight sense of unease, but once inside, it was a truly lovely space. The Room, meals, and Onsen were all excellent. We also appreciated the drinks in the Room and the complimentary Yakult and ice cream after bathing. This time, when we mentioned on the day that it was our wedding anniversary, we received a wonderful gift. Thank you for your thoughtful gesture.

    No.1 in Kanazawa City

Taisho Romantic and Showa Retro. Despite its age, there isn't a single stain on the sofas or carpets. Complimentary drinks in the room, Onsen beverages, Yakult, and even premium ice cream that surpasses other Hotels—all free of charge. Enjoy live piano performances at night. Breakfast features Kanazawa specialties as the main highlight and more. It truly deserves higher ratings. If you're hesitating while looking at the Hotel entrance from the road—don't! Just step in and stay! You'll be pampered to perfection. It's absolutely amazing!!

    Excellent access to tourist attractions

I used the shuttle bus from the station. The two drivers were very kind and even provided us with a sightseeing map and brochures. Thank you so much. The Hotel is conveniently located with great access to all major tourist attractions. I enjoyed relaxing in the Onsen, followed by Yakult and ice cream after bathing. In the Room, there was one 2L bottle of water, two 500ml bottles of water, two bottles of Kaga Bocha tea, as well as coffee, tea bags, and Kaga Bocha packs provided—very thoughtful! It seems that tap water is also drinkable. A convenience store is just a 3-4 minute walk away. Although the building has a historical feel to it, the plumbing has been renovated and was clean. However, door noises and hallway conversations do echo. I stayed here on my last day after spending several nights in Kanazawa. It was a wonderful way to conclude my birthday trip on a positive note—thank you! Since taking the shuttle bus back to the station takes time, I opted for a taxi instead; it cost about 1,200 yen. While some points may have already been mentioned by others in their reviews, I wanted to share my experience as well!

    30th Wedding Anniversary Trip

I recently traveled with my husband for the first time in a while, as I’m usually busy taking care of my grandchildren. Our hotel near Kanazawa Castle was perfectly located, allowing us to visit most major attractions on foot. We stayed for two nights and visited Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle, and Omicho Market. My husband got tired and returned to the hotel early to rest, which was very convenient. Meanwhile, I leisurely explored Oyama Shrine, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, and Higashi Chaya District at my own pace. Since our stay was No Meals Included, we enjoyed local delicacies such as takeout sushi, seafood bowls from the market, sweets in Chaya District cafes, grilled nodoguro fish at an izakaya paired with local sake—all on our own schedule while savoring Kanazawa’s flavors to the fullest. The hotel features an Onsen with a dedicated elevator accessible in yukata robes. Towels are provided at the bath area for convenience. The silky-smooth hot spring water helped us relax and recover from travel fatigue. We also appreciated complimentary Yakult drinks and ice cream after bathing. Our room was comfortable with stylish coffee cups and tea sets along with a coffee server that made it easy to unwind. The Taisho-era stained glass decor in the romantic lobby added charm to our stay. The Shuttle Service from the station made traveling by Shinkansen stress-free. When we mentioned it was our 30th anniversary trip, we received a lovely gift from the staff—such thoughtful hospitality! This exceptional hotel exceeded all expectations; I would highly recommend it to friends!

    Taisho Roman Hotel

The stained glass, furnishings, and even the stylish cups in the Room lifted my spirits. The unexpected nighttime piano performance was a delightful surprise. Dinner allowed me to savor Kaga cuisine, and I found myself enjoying more sake than usual. Morning walks were refreshing with the nearby castle ruins and Kenrokuen Garden surrounded by lush greenery. During my walk, I had a pleasant conversation with a gentleman who happened to work part-time cleaning the baths at Sanraku Hotel—thank you for the mandarin oranges!

Highly recommended for Kanazawa sightseeing beginners.

The room cleaning, front desk, and restaurant staff were attentive, making for a pleasant stay. During our 3-day stay, we used a bus pass and walked to explore the area, and the location was convenient for everywhere we wanted to visit. The sushi restaurant you recommended was also great. The Onsen felt lukewarm but might be suitable for long soaks. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Convenient for sightseeing in Kanazawa.

Located next to Kanazawa Castle and within walking distance to Kenrokuen Garden, this hotel is very convenient for sightseeing. The front desk offers a handmade sightseeing map created by the staff, which is highly recommended as it is very easy to understand. The staff also provided detailed explanations, helping us plan the best routes for our visit. Since it was an unusually hot summer day and we were drenched in sweat from sightseeing, staying at a hotel with an Onsen was the perfect choice. We also appreciated the complimentary juice, Yakult, and ice cream after bathing. It would have been even better if there had been a massage chair. The breakfast plan included not just an ordinary buffet but featured local dishes with creative touches that were absolutely delicious. The Kutani ware plates added beauty to the meal and made it visually enjoyable as well. The stained glass in the lobby and other furnishings were lovely and photogenic. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends. Kanazawa has so many attractions and delicious food that I’d love to visit again someday. Thank you!

The Romantic Twin room was amazing!

The stained glass, lamps, wallpaper, and the cuteness of the Room were absolutely delightful. I was thrilled to see cherry blossoms from the Room. The amenities, drinks, and Facilities in the Room were excellent and exceeded expectations. Although I brought a Blu-ray Disc for a big-screen viewing session, it was unfortunately not supported (2024 release discs mysteriously rejected), but everything else was perfect! The large public bath was spacious, clean, and well-designed with mats extending all the way to the towel area—truly impressive! Hotels across The whole country should adopt this idea. The breakfast we added on-site featured an array of Kanazawa specialties that felt luxurious and delicious. Above all, the staff's attentive service ensured that both hot pots and trays were impeccably presented. One of my best travel memories is undoubtedly the incredible beef-filled curry I had here—it was so good that I'll definitely come back just to have it again!

The Hotel was excellent. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

I stayed with a friend using the Basic Plan. The room had a calm atmosphere with furnishings like a wardrobe and dish cabinet, featuring beautiful Kutani ware coffee cups and glasses, making it very relaxing. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent, leaving my skin smooth. One minor inconvenience was that after bathing, you couldn't go to the dining area in a yukata, so changing back into clothes was necessary. However, since it's a hotel and the dining area is located behind the front desk on the first floor, this is understandable as part of proper etiquette. Dinner incorporated many local specialties from Kanazawa and was absolutely delicious. I went for breakfast around 8:30 AM but found that desserts and fruits were not replenished by then, which was disappointing despite enjoying what I could eat. With Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden nearby, everything about my stay was satisfying overall—I would love to visit again!

The bath and meals are absolutely satisfying.

This was my first time using this accommodation. I made a reservation for an onsen with a large public bath in Kanazawa City. The retro lobby and rooms seemed beautifully renovated. Being right next to Kenrokuen Garden, it was very convenient for sightseeing during the cherry blossom season. The bath was flawless, with towels provided in the bathing area and makeup remover and facial wash available at each booth, making it very convenient. Recently, some accommodations have stopped providing shower caps in changing rooms as part of SDGs initiatives, but all amenities were perfectly prepared here. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be that having an outdoor bath in the garden space would have been nice. Having three boxes of tissues in the room was also very convenient. Breakfast included many Kanazawa specialties and was absolutely delicious. It would be more convenient if there were not only yukata but also samue available, and if guests could go to the lobby or dining area wearing yukata or similar attire. I will definitely use this accommodation again when visiting Kanazawa!
