The front desk staff’s warm smile
The front desk staff’s smiles were wonderful. Although the building is old, thoughtful touches—such as providing ReFa items and having a TV in the sauna—along with in-Room drinks and ice cream after the bath made our stay very comfortable. I would have liked a few more Western options at breakfast. With convenient access, it was an Accommodation I’d like to use again.

The stained-glass in the lobby is beautiful.
I stayed for one night during Golden Week 2026. The staff were courteous and attentive. It’s pleasant to walk along Shirotori Road toward Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle. The stained glass in the lobby is lovely. While the Taisho-era romantic atmosphere is appealing, the Facility feels old, and the hallways and Room in particular had a musty smell. As for the men’s bath, the tub is shallow and the water temperature is low.

This Hotel is in an excellent location.
Because the Reviews were excellent, I stayed with very high expectations. The location is outstanding and, in my opinion, perfect for sightseeing in Kanazawa. The building is old, but it is well maintained and felt clean. [What was especially great] - High-quality breakfast buffet (everything was delicious) - Excellent spa on the 2nd floor; I was very satisfied - The more experienced staff provided truly professional service - Dinner on the second day was more luxurious and tastier than on the first day (a rare pattern) - Towels were available at the bath area, along with drinks other than water and ice cream - The basket bag for the bath was convenient - “Rest time” cooling patches were provided in the Room—very thoughtful - High-quality cloth slippers in the Room that felt great - The bath water felt smooth and pleasant - The café’s cream soda was extremely delicious - We were kindly offered an earlier dinner time [What was disappointing] - A younger female staff member did not smile much (maybe that’s just how it is these days?) - Although it was all-inclusive, refills of drinks from the refrigerator were not allowed (this wasn’t explained, and it didn’t feel very all-inclusive) - On the second day, refrigerator items were not replenished unless we called, and they weren’t chilled either - At the bath area, Sekkisei cleansing oil and toner/emulsion were placed side by side and hard to tell apart (many older guests seemed confused) - If it’s all-inclusive, it would be nice if café bar time were included as well (in that case, an in-Room refrigerator might not even be necessary) Overall, it was a very good Hotel. Thank you for taking care of us.

A Trip to Kanazawa
It had a calm atmosphere, and I was able to relax. Although the building is old, it was kept very clean, and all the staff were very pleasant. The meals were also very delicious, but one personal note: the Noto beef was quite fatty for me, so I couldn’t eat much of it. The Onsen was great as well—this is an Accommodation I’d like to visit again.

The hospitality is excellent.
The location, Room size, sauna, and Onsen are all excellent. Compared to my previous stay, some things had changed—there was no amenity kit and the original bottles were no longer provided—but I understand that this is unavoidable these days. I was disappointed that sparkling wine was no longer available at breakfast. There were a few other letdowns, such as the bath-area juice not being replenished once it ran out, but there were also many appreciated services like live piano performances and the Shuttle Service, so I would like to stay again.

It was a wonderful trip.
A lobby and Room that evoke Taisho-era romance. Kutani ware tableware and decor that capture the spirit of Kanazawa. The violin and piano performances on Saturday and Sunday nights created an extraordinary yet deeply relaxing atmosphere. Delicious cuisine, well-stocked amenities, and above all, the staff’s thoughtful care and attentive service made our stay truly heartwarming. It was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

Everything you could possibly need is taken care of.
It was convenient, with great access to Kanazawa’s main sightseeing spots. The welcome drink was delicious. The stained glass in the lobby was beautiful, and paired with the red carpet it felt like stepping back in time. I saw someone order a classic cream soda, and it perfectly matched the luxurious lounge setting—so charming and atmospheric. The original road map was unique and full of character—I loved it. It also showed walking times, which made it easy to understand. The Room had stained-glass windows in yellow and orange tones, and everything was coordinated in yellow—so cute. I also loved the fluffy indoor slippers. The little yellow duck in the bathroom was adorable. I was surprised that all drinks in the fridge were free: beer, Kaga roasted green tea, orange juice, and water—a nice variety. Enjoying a local tea was great, and even the water bottle looked lovely with its stained-glass-style cover. Since it was June, I didn’t think I’d need an Onsen, but we got caught in unexpected rain and my body got chilled—so soaking in a large bath felt wonderful. The ice cream was also delicious. I appreciated having a ReFa hair dryer (in the Room) and shower head. I’d been wanting to try Sekkisei skincare for a while, so I was happy to be able to use it here. It might be nice to have a fan in the changing room (from my husband). Also, the non-slip mat just before entering the women’s bath (in the small space between two doors) had prickly edges that hurt a little (the center didn’t hurt—probably because many people step on it). The umbrella we borrowed due to the rain had a stained-glass pattern on it—it didn’t just lift my mood; it made me grateful for the rainy weather. Too bad they weren’t sold at the shop. Dinner included an indulgent chawanmushi with crab and other ingredients; its gentle dashi flavor was excellent. The sashimi freshness lived up to expectations as well. The wagashi dessert resembled hydrangeas—perfect for both the season and the menu—and I liked that we could take it back to our Room. Breakfast was outstanding too—we really enjoyed local specialties. In particular, their special bamboo-tube tofu and turnip soup were delicious. I wanted more but couldn’t eat much—what a shame! All of breakfast tableware was adorable as well; we bought matching chopsticks for couples as souvenirs. Kanazawa’s signature gold leaf items are perfect gifts. Finally, we used their Shuttle Service by shuttle bus to get dropped off at the station—it truly felt like they took care of everything from start to finish. If I visit Kanazawa again, I’d definitely stay here again—and would prioritize considering other Hotels in their group as well.

A soothing, silky Onsen for beautiful skin
The Room was refined and comfortable, with no unnecessary furnishings. The Hotel’s overall atmosphere was calm and full of Taisho-era romance, which felt wonderful. I found out on the day that fireflies could be seen nearby—and I actually got to see them. It was truly moving! I also learned that there would be live piano music at the bar that night, and I enjoyed the beautiful sound while having a drink. Above all, the Onsen in the large public bath was silky-smooth and incredibly relaxing. After the sauna, I went into a circular cold plunge pool; going down the steps along its curve felt especially nice! There is another sister Hotel nearby, and when I asked for directions because I couldn’t find my way, people often guided me there instead. I got lost quite a bit before arriving, but it ended up being a very satisfying stay.

Glad you chose us.
A recently renovated, slightly timeworn yet calm and charming building. The location near Kenrokuen Garden is excellent, and the staff’s warm hospitality and the generous breakfast selection exceeded expectations.

Taisho Romantic Accommodation and Fireflies
I stayed for one night recently, and the stained-glass windows in the Room and lobby made it a truly beautiful and elegant Hotel. As you would expect from a long-established luxury Ryokan, the staff service was outstanding. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. It’s just a short walk from Kanazawa Castle’s Otemon Gate, so an early-morning stroll feels wonderful. A special surprise was being able to see fireflies on Shirotoriroad right next to the Hotel—I was truly moved. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again when visiting Kanazawa. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Hokuriku’s Cloudy Skies and Stained-Glass Windows
Stayed one night in the Romantic Room. The moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the nostalgic atmosphere. The fresh greenery and overcast sky softly visible through the stained-glass window were beautiful and memorable. Each detail—framed artwork, lamps, and vases with fresh flowers—had its own charm, and I could feel the care put into the entire space. The bed had just the right amount of give, and I slept comfortably. All of the front desk staff had wonderful smiles, and while they were refreshingly new to their roles, they assisted me with great courtesy—I found myself wanting to cheer them on. Most noteworthy was the Onsen. Even after bathing, a gentle warmth lingered, warming me from the core. Breakfast also featured a wide selection of Kaga specialties, all of which I enjoyed. It was a pity that Jibuni was still being prepared, but I’ll look forward to it next time. Overall, it felt like excellent value for money. I would love to stay again—thank you very much.

The lovely classical atmosphere is wonderful.
It was a classic and truly wonderful Hotel. Even though breakfast was buffet-style, it was served on Kutani ware, and there was a great selection of delicious Kanazawa specialties—very satisfying. The location is also near Kanazawa Castle, so it was quiet and relaxing.

I had a comfortable stay in Kanazawa for the first time in a while.
It was my first time back in Kanazawa in 25 years. The location was very convenient, and I was able to visit the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kenrokuen Garden, Higashi Chaya District, and more all on foot. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion, and I thoroughly enjoyed the refined Kanazawa cuisine. Even the tableware—from rice bowls to teacups—was Kutani ware, which made it an added pleasure to appreciate Kutani ceramics as well. The staff were also extremely courteous, making my stay in Kanazawa truly fulfilling. I would definitely like to stay here again next time. Thank you very much.

Kanazawa Trip
We chose this Hotel because we had stayed here before and were impressed with the excellent service, and we wanted to treat our well-traveled parents. This time as well, the warm hospitality was unchanged, and both of my parents were very satisfied. On our previous trip, we focused mainly on food—seafood at Omicho Market and Kanazawa oden—so we didn’t realize it then, but this time we went for an early-morning walk in Kenrokuen Garden. Being able to enjoy such a peaceful, relaxing time surrounded by quiet air and nature is something you can only experience at a Hotel so close to Kenrokuen. Breakfast after returning from the walk tasted even better than last time. If we travel to Kanazawa again, we would love to stay here again.

We were completely satisfied.
Our family of three stayed here. Both the dinner buffet and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The staff provided exceptionally courteous service, making our stay comfortable from start to finish. We also appreciated the thoughtful attention to the bedding and amenities, which helped us rest well. It was a wonderful Hotel that we would love to stay at again.

Reliable Accommodation
The bath is incredibly relaxing! We also really enjoyed the breakfast. We visit almost every week. Some guests may feel that a Hotel breakfast is a bit too much. My spouse and I, in our 50s, feel the same sometimes—but there’s a bakery that opens at 8:00 just a few minutes’ walk away, so when we want something light, we buy some bread there and come back to the Hotel to enjoy it with coffee. After that, we take a walk along Hakuchoro—highly recommended!

One-of-a-kind retro charm
From the moment you step into the lobby, you’ll feel a retro charm unlike anywhere else. Located away from the hustle and bustle, yet right by Kenrokuen Garden. It was a wonderful Hotel with a very calming atmosphere. The spacious parking lot and available parking were also a big plus. I’d definitely like to stay again—next time, I’d love to try the meals too.

It was the perfect Hotel for our Kanazawa trip!!
I stayed here for three nights in early April on a trip to Kanazawa. To sum it up: this is a Hotel that made me think, “I absolutely want to come back.” 【Lobby / Shared Spaces】 The moment I stepped in for check-in, I was welcomed by stained glass depicting the scenery of the four seasons. Sitting in an antique-style armchair and enjoying coffee topped with gold leaf, all my travel fatigue melted away at once. 【Guest Room】 The calm, dark-brown interior felt relaxing, and the cleanliness was impeccable. Outside the window, cherry blossoms in full bloom stretched along the avenue leading toward Kanazawa Castle Park—every morning I woke up to a view that gently reminded me, “I’m really in Kanazawa.” The bathroom amenities were more than sufficient, and a small rubber duck placed casually by the tub added a playful touch that made me smile. And when I opened the fridge—beer, orange juice, and even local Kaga bōcha tea were waiting for me free of charge. Honestly, I was impressed. It’s those thoughtful touches you don’t have to ask for that feel so special. 【Public Bath】 It isn’t huge, but it’s kept very clean, and the water feels silky smooth. It soothed my tired body after three full days of sightseeing. And just outside the bath area there was complimentary mini ice cream! It may seem minor, but it genuinely made me happy. You can really feel how much care this Hotel puts into delighting guests down to the smallest details. 【Dinner (In-house Kaiseki)】 I requested dinner all three nights of my stay, and each day they prepared an entirely different menu. From Kanazawa specialties like jibuni and dishes simmered with Kaga bōcha tea to nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), and Noto beef—it was a wonderful way to experience Kanazawa’s rich food culture. I was also amazed by how carefully each item was prepared—from tempura to steamed dishes. They also offered distinctive drinks that paired beautifully with the meal—such as Hyakunen no Kodoku (barley shochu) and Gorojima Kintoki (sweet-potato shochu). Mealtimes were pure happiness. 【Staff Service】 Of course everyone was polite and kind—but what stood out most was how naturally it came across as simply “the norm,” never forced or overbearing. I think that atmosphere is why I felt relaxed throughout my stay. At checkout they kindly helped us take a couple’s photo in front of the Hotel signboard, leaving us with a wonderful keepsake at the end of our trip. 【Overall】 This is an Accommodation where you’ll want to stay every time you visit Kanazawa. If you’d like to enjoy Kanazawa at an unhurried pace, I can recommend it with confidence.

I was drawn to the photos of the cute stained-glass Room and decided to stay at this Hotel. Since we took the shuttle bus from the station, we arrived earlier than check-in, but they told us our Room was ready, so we were able to go in early. All of the staff were courteous, and we had a very pleasant stay. The nearby area map they gave us also had a handmade feel, with approximate travel times listed, and it was very easy to understand. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and it was great fun being able to choose cups along with Wajima lacquer bowls and Kutani ware rice bowls. On our way out, I peeked into another Room that was open for cleaning and saw stained glass in a different color from ours—next time, we’d like to try staying in a different Room.

I stayed at Hotel Sanraku two years ago, and this time I stayed at Hakuchouza. At Hotel Sanraku I had Western-style meals, and at Hakuchouza I had Japanese cuisine. The food at both hotels was excellent. However, the Onsen water was a bit lukewarm, and I would have liked it to be slightly warmer. Both hotels were wonderful. Thank you very much.

Respect for the Aged Gathering
The Hotel had a lovely atmosphere, with stained glass and Kutani ware tableware at meals. Even though it is an Onsen, it was a bit disappointing that you cannot attend meals or the evening piano concert in loungewear. For those who want to enjoy the Onsen many times, changing into regular clothes after bathing did not feel like being at an Onsen. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Kanazawa No. 1
I’m a returning guest. The meals, Room, Onsen, and hospitality—everything was flawless. The Kutani ware bowls and cups served at the breakfast buffet delighted me. It’s a sign that you trust your guests. The champagne available in the morning was also delicious and made the trip feel even more special. The Taisho-romantic Hotel atmosphere made me feel as if I had traveled back in time, and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to do everything within the Hotel without going out.

The atmosphere throughout the property and in the Room is wonderful.
When arriving by car, the entrance felt a bit narrow, so I initially thought it was quite a small Hotel. However, once inside, a spacious lobby opened up like another world—almost as if I had time-traveled into the romantic Taisho era. Check-in was smooth and courteous, making for a very pleasant start. The Room was also spacious, and just like the lobby, it allowed me to relax as if I were back in the Taisho period. The public areas of the building and the Room felt seamlessly connected, creating a truly one-of-a-kind experience. The dinner we ordered with our stay was slightly disappointing. Despite being served quickly, some dishes were a bit lukewarm. Also, perhaps because we had eaten fresh seafood in Kanazawa beforehand, it felt somewhat lacking in freshness. I also wished there had been just a little more food. In contrast, breakfast was excellent—packed with great Kanazawa specialties. Nodoguro was of course wonderful, and the croquettes and fried chicken with tartar sauce were especially delicious. There is also a large communal Onsen bath inside the Hotel, and overall it was an extremely satisfying stay. Highly recommended.

Optimal access to tourist attractions
After researching various Accommodations, I chose this Hotel based on Reviews saying it offers excellent access to sightseeing spots. As expected, during our two-night, three-day stay—and with great weather—we were able to visit many places such as Kanazawa Castle, Omicho Market, Kenrokuen Garden, and the Higashi Chaya District. The Hotel and staff were wonderful, and the breakfast included local dishes and was delicious. If I have the chance to visit Kanazawa again, I would like to stay here again.
