    As expected

    I have no complaints about the Ryokan. I was surprised to be able to enjoy red snow crab even in summer. The in-Room dining service was also excellent. Just one point: the sweet shrimp at dinner was outstanding, but the Ryokan I stayed at the next day in Amanohashidate was better in terms of the sweetness of its miso (probably just by chance...). I would definitely like to visit in winter.

    Every summer, we have a wonderful stay.

    This year, we stayed with four children of elementary school age or younger. New playground equipment had been installed by the poolside, and the kids were thrilled. We also thoroughly enjoyed the kaiseki cuisine, which was excellent. I love Onsen and have visited many famous hot springs, but the shower water pressure in Shogetsutei’s bath area is outstanding. The staff were attentive and professional, so we were able to stay with peace of mind.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    Overall, I experienced the quality you would expect from a luxury Ryokan. Dinner felt more like banquet-style cuisine designed for large groups. Even with fewer dishes, I would have liked to see a bit more handmade touch added. The baths were excellent, as expected. The well-maintained Facility and cleanliness throughout had the dignified presence of a long-established Ryokan. Breakfast (buffet) offered many Japanese dishes, and I was satisfied. I asked the front desk for guidance around the Onsen town, but it was disappointing that the explanations and map service were a bit rough and hard to understand.

    It was as amazing as everyone said.

    Everything about the Facility felt spacious and relaxing. The Room was almost too large to justify, and it was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed our meals in a private dining room with our friends (a married couple), and we truly savored the elaborate dishes. (The morning curry was delicious as well.) We also enjoyed Nishimuraya’s sake. Perhaps because it wasn’t crowded, the large public bath was wonderful, and we were able to soak at a leisurely pace. The perks were great too, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Our friends who came from the Kanto area were visiting Kinosaki for the first time, and they left saying, “It was amazing—I want to come again.” We also bought lots of vegetables at the morning market as souvenirs for neighbors. Thank you very much. Have the amenities changed?

    They were very kind and helpful.

    All Hotel staff were very kind. Also, during dinner at Sanpou Nishimuraya, they explained the ingredients and cooking methods in detail, and we thoroughly enjoyed the seasonal dishes. After checkout, a staff member found an item we had left behind in our Room and kindly delivered it all the way to Kinosaki Onsen Station, which was a great help. Thank you very much.

    This was our family’...

    This was our family’s first trip to Kinosaki Onsen. The service was attentive, and we were able to enjoy the Onsen comfortably. The meals were also delicious, and our whole family had a very satisfying trip! We’ll definitely be back!

    Nishimuraya’s Large Hotel

    Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The serving staff also worked very hard. At check-in, it was unfortunate to run into a group that was being loud, perhaps drunk. Since it is a large Hotel even though it is Nishimuraya, I suppose it can’t be helped. The moment we were shown to our Room and stepped inside, there was a slightly damp, stuffy smell, so we opened the window right away. As it continued to bother us, we spoke with the front desk and they brought us an odor remover, which resolved the issue.

    A Comfortable Accommodation

    The Hotel offered a pleasant atmosphere in every way, from the staff’s attentive service and well-equipped Facilities to the cheerful hospitality of the dining service staff. The relaxation salon “Fuka” was also a big hit with my wife. We were very satisfied.

    A comfortable Accommodation.

    This was my second stay, and the staff were kind and attentive, making it a very comfortable place to be. In addition to the open-air bath, there is also a relatively spacious sauna. Dinner was very satisfying. One thing: the breakfast buffet selection is excellent, but the tables are a bit close together. As someone with a larger build, I worry about bumping into chairs behind me and have to be careful. Since there is some open space, I would like them to reconsider the table layout. Other than that, it’s an Accommodation with nothing to complain about.

    It was very good.

    We took the shuttle bus to visit a public Onsen, and it was close enough to walk back. It was a little away from the Onsen town, but that made it very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, and we were very satisfied with the staff’s service. On our way home, we bought some miso that was being sold in front of the Hotel.

    The food was delicious—the crab, meat, and sashimi were all excellent. The Room with an open-air bath was wonderful. I just wish we had arrived at the Accommodation a bit earlier.

    I’m glad I chose this as a gift.

    I booked this as a birthday gift for my younger brother’s wife, and they were absolutely delighted—it was well worth the planning. Even though they arrived a little early, the staff kindly accommodated them. They enjoyed a welcome drink, and during dinner they even received a celebratory gift from the staff. After they got home, hearing their happy stories made me very glad as well. They said everything was wonderful—the Onsen and the meals alike. Next time, my spouse and I would love to stay with you too. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Amid the hustle and bustle of Golden Week

    This time, I was finally able to visit Kinosaki Onsen, which I had long wanted to see. I chose this Ryokan via IKYU.com. Upon arrival, a new staff member guided me to my Room with a fresh and earnest demeanor that made me look forward to their future growth. The Room was far more spacious than I needed for a solo stay, and the Japanese-style room had beautiful fresh flowers and a wonderful atmosphere. Following the classic Kinosaki Onsen tradition of visiting the public bathhouses, I went out for an onsen-hopping tour. Guests could enter for free, and I enjoyed several of them. As my Plan did not include dinner, I ate at a riverside restaurant and had Tajima beef sirloin steak, Margherita pizza, and a Shirley Temple. Comfortably tired, I was able to sleep soundly for the first time in quite a while. The next morning’s breakfast in the hall was a buffet featuring local ingredients, with so many appealing options that it was hard to choose. After that, I went out again for an early-morning bath at one of the public bathhouses. I waited for the Shuttle Service bus in front of Nishimuraya’s shop, but it didn’t come for quite some time. With checkout approaching, I called the Hotel and was told that if there are no passengers waiting, it does not depart. However, they kindly arranged to pick me up in person in a Crown sedan. I bought some sweets from the Hotel as souvenirs and shared them at my workplace—they were very well received. In fact, on the day before my stay I arrived once in Kinosaki Onsen but couldn’t find any availability when searching booking sites; since trains were also about to stop running soon after that time of night anyway (and rather than risk being stranded), so returned all way back Kyoto where stayed one night at Business Hotel then came back next day try again—Kinosaki Onsen revenge trip! By chance found Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei; though it may have been coincidence this selection turned out best possible choice indeed! Away from everyday noise bustle life—felt cleansed both body mind—and spent truly exceptional time here. If opportunity arises would love visit again reunite with wonderful flow of time. Thank you very much.

    Impeccably maintained! The Onsen is outstanding!

    Immaculately maintained, and the Onsen was outstanding! I felt absolutely wonderful! The staff were friendly and excellent. If I had to say one thing, maybe crab isn’t necessary in this season?

    It was good overall, which makes it a bit disappointing.

    Last time, I stayed separately with a friend while my husband stayed with his mother. This time, since we both had a great experience before, the two of us visited together. As it was the last day of Golden Week, it was quiet, and the dinner at Sanpou was excellent. In particular, the woman who served us at Sanpou worked very hard and provided wonderful service, so we had a truly enjoyable time. We will definitely visit again. We also enjoyed the open-air bath in the large public bath almost as if it were private. There was just one disappointing issue in the changing area of the large public bath, so I deducted one star for that point only. I have already shared the details as feedback to the manager and hope it will be improved. Even so, we will definitely come again.

    It was comfortable.

    We stayed as a couple. The property and our Room were spacious and clean. The staff were kind and attentive. The Onsen indoor bath was great, but the open-air bath felt lukewarm to me, which was disappointing. It rained at night so we couldn’t visit the other baths, but dinner was delicious and we had a relaxing time. There was a bus between the Hotel and the station, and they also helped carry our luggage, which made everything comfortable.

    I stayed here for the first time in four years.

    There are more staff than before, and I was truly impressed by everyone’s courteous and warm hospitality. It wasn’t that just one person was unfriendly—every single staff member was wonderful. The food and the baths were excellent as well. If I had to mention one small disappointment, the hair dryers in the large public bath felt old and didn’t quite match the Hotel. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Wonderful

    An adults-only trip with my husband! The calm atmosphere was wonderful, and the Facility was clean throughout. The meals were excellent—everything from the local specialty red snow crab to Tajima beef and abalone was high quality, and we were very satisfied.

    Warm hospitality and a relaxing stay

    All the staff welcomed us with wonderful smiles, and we had a very pleasant stay. In particular, the dining service team and the lounge staff were attentive and made us feel comfortable, and we also appreciated how they casually offered to take our photos throughout the property. The private dining Room was quiet, allowing us to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. We are also grateful for their flexibility regarding ingredients and other requests for the cuisine. Their thoughtful care for my mother was especially appreciated. In the open-air bath in our Room, we were able to relax while looking out at fresh spring greenery, which was truly soothing. It was a wonderful stay that made us want to visit again.

    A warm smile that makes you feel welcome

    I travel every month, and I truly believe this Accommodation deserves recognition for being mentally barrier-free. Everyone was friendly with a smile, everything we needed was provided, and we were able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience. However, perhaps because there were many international guests, the open-air bath felt spoiled by a strong chlorine smell. As for the tatami mats and futon bedding, those who are sensitive to chemicals may find them unsuitable—though this is purely my personal impression. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of both Japanese and Western options; I couldn’t help but smile wryly because the simmered fish collar was not just cool but actually cold, yet everything was tasty and satisfying (lol). It’s a bit of a walk to the center of the Onsen town, but in return it was very quiet and surrounded by greenery. There is also Shuttle Service, so it wasn’t inconvenient at all. Overall, it was a good Accommodation and we appreciated your hospitality.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    Because I had previously Cancel the Reservation at Nishimuraya due to COVID-19, I decided to try again this time. The hospitality exceeded my expectations and was truly wonderful—this is Japanese hospitality at its best. It was a 4.5-hour train trip there and a 5-hour trip back, but the Onsen and meals were more than worth it. I found myself wondering what it would be like in a different season, and I hope to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

    A Trip to Enjoy Delicious Crab Dishes

    I stayed here last September as well, and once again I felt at ease thanks to the Hotel’s overall cleanliness and spaciousness. This time, I enjoyed a crab meal at “Sanpou Nishimuraya Honten,” and it was truly delicious. The combination of crab and Tajima beef was exceptional, and the sake pairing matched perfectly. Dinner with great food in a restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere made this trip unforgettable. All the staff were kind and attentive, so I had a very comfortable stay.

    A Luxurious Adults-Only Getaway

    This time I visited on a solo trip. The town was lively with students celebrating graduation trips. Inside the Hotel, it was quiet, and the relaxation treatment I booked in advance was even more comfortable than expected, leaving me feeling refreshed. The meals were excellent as always, and I ended up enjoying plenty of drinks too. The private bath was wonderful last time as well, so I’d love to use it again. The Onsen is also very impressive, so you can relax more than at the public baths. The service of delivering my luggage to the tourist information center in front of the station for storage was a big help. Since I wanted to visit the public baths until it was time to leave, they lent me a public-bath pass along with towels, a bath towel, and a bag—and because it was raining, I could also borrow an umbrella. Thank you for allowing me to return the towels and umbrella when picking up my luggage on my way back. I will definitely visit again.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    I stayed for one night in early February. It was my first solo trip to Kinosaki Onsen, and I was a bit worried about the snow. I’m glad I chose Nishimuraya Shogetsutei. I was able to truly relax. The staff were warm and kind, and the private bath was wonderful. Dinner at Ricca was delicious, carefully prepared, and the heartfelt hospitality made me very happy. In addition, the music, lighting, flowers, cleanliness, and the scent of incense all helped me feel at ease. I would love to stay at Nishimuraya Shogetsutei again! Thank you very much.

    I came here for the ...

    I came here for the crab, but it had no crab flavor at all, which was disappointing. It was the first time I’ve ever eaten crab that tasted that bad. I was also bothered by the foreign dining staff chatting and laughing among themselves. Everything other than the meals was very good.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    We arrived early, but we were shown to our Room right away, so we were able to relax—enjoying the open-air bath before dinner and having drinks in the lounge. Since we had dinner in our Room, we could dine without any worries and fully enjoy the delicious crab. It was also my first time seeing this year’s accumulated snow, and I was truly impressed.     Open-Air Hot Spring Bath with Snow Views and Live Crab Cuisine

    After the heavy snowfall up to the day before, the Accommodation’s garden was completely covered in snow. From both the spacious indoor bath and the rock-built open-air bath, we could see the garden blanketed in deep snow—and even touch the snow from inside the bath. It was an experience you can’t usually have, even on a winter trip. For dinner, we enjoyed dishes unique to this place: sashimi, boiled crab, charcoal-grilled crab (the crab miso in the shell was also delicious), crab hot pot, and rice porridge to finish. Everything was excellent, and we fully enjoyed crab prepared in many different ways! The staff were attentive, and the grilled crab was perfectly fragrant and delicious. Thank you very much—we were glad we made the effort to come despite the snowy roads.
