    The dinner was delic...

    The dinner was delicious, and it was nice to enjoy two types of Onsen. However, I found small dead insects around the bed in the bedroom, and there was even one floating in the breakfast juice, which was very disappointing. Of course, they replaced the juice for me. Additionally, there were other issues such as slow check-in service and being told to issue my own receipt online instead of receiving one directly. For a high-end Ryokan, I felt that their hospitality fell short in several areas. Although it came recommended to me, I don't think I'll be returning for a second visit.

    As Expected, a Renowned Ryokan

    Children under 12 are not allowed. I remember wanting to turn 12 quickly as a child because of that rule. I often visited the beloved Zui-en with my parents back then. My father loved the Grand Hotel's panoramic bath, and we were always picked up and dropped off by bus, enjoying impeccable hospitality. Returning to Zui-en after a long time, I found it still retained its old charm. The staff's warmth and attention to detail were exceptional. They carefully accommodated my dietary allergies, and the food was lightly seasoned yet incredibly delicious. The baths and lounge now offer self-service drinks in a modern touch, but everything else remains beautifully unchanged with an air of elegance throughout. The Facility is spotless without any sense of age; instead, it feels well-maintained with evident care and affection that highlight its timeless beauty. This is a place I'd love to visit once or even twice a month for relaxation! I'm so happy to have found such a wonderful spot. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for your patronage.

    For our wedding anniversary, we decided to stay in Arima. Although we couldn't make a reservation on the exact date due to Golden Week, we stayed at several ryokans nearby as it was our first time visiting Arima Onsen. Among them, Nakano-bo Zuien stood out with the best hospitality. We fondly remember the smiles of the valet service staff and the young staff who served us during meals.     Overall, it was a great experience. The cold bath in the onsen was a bit small, which was a little disappointing. However, the beer after bathing was excellent! The staff were all kind and attentive, providing wonderful service. As for the meals, the Kobe beef served at dinner was fantastic, but the other meat dish was tough and didn’t quite meet expectations for comparison. The location and service deserve full marks. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Wedding Anniversary

    We visited for our 21st wedding anniversary and enjoyed a day-use plan with an Onsen and lunch. After having lunch and soaking in the Onsen, we wanted to relax further, so we opted for a room. They provided us with a regular accommodation room, which was very comfortable. We were welcomed with matcha tea and traditional sweets, adding a special touch to the experience. The room was well-stocked with various beverages (tea, coffee, soft drinks, and alcohol in the fridge), making it feel luxurious. Amenities included L'Occitane products, and even the toothbrush packaging featured koi fish designs (perhaps inspired by the koi in the lobby). The lounge offered free drinks as well, and near the bath entrance were various beverages available for after-bath refreshment. Lunch was served as a bento box filled with assorted dishes like sashimi, tempura, side dishes, fruits for dessert—small portions but very satisfying overall. The baths included both large indoor baths and semi-open-air ones featuring golden hot spring water (kinsen) with its soothing sulfur aroma. It felt almost like having private access since it wasn’t crowded at all. Our visit lasted from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM but flew by quickly! Next time we’d love to stay overnight!

    As expected of Arima Onsen

    I treated myself to my first-ever visit to Arima Onsen for my birthday and stayed at Nakanobo Zuien. At first, I felt uncertain due to issues like insufficient parking guidance and being unattended during check-in, especially when compared to accommodations of a similar class in other prefectures. However, the excellent service from the staff during dinner turned things around, and I am truly grateful for that. I stayed in a room with Kinsen Onsen water, and the quality of the spring was outstanding—truly living up to Arima Onsen's reputation!

    Satisfied.

    As many have commented, this accommodation offers the ultimate "hospitality" experience. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere was incredibly soothing. The sink in the large public bath's dressing room was always spotless without a single drop of water. A drink prepared by the sommelier at the bar lounge, with a view of the garden's night scenery as a backdrop, was exceptional. I will definitely visit again.

    An Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    I have used this accommodation multiple times. This time, we stayed for two nights to celebrate my husband's recovery and for his recuperation. We were deeply touched by the celebratory red rice and the plate with congratulatory words provided by the hotel, which made my husband very happy. This thoughtful gesture is one of the reasons I became a repeat guest at this accommodation. The reservation staff, front desk team, attendants, and chefs all prioritize their guests with exceptional service and manners that left a lasting impression during our stay. Additionally, it’s rare to find accommodations that provide sandwiches (which were delicious) and juice for lunch during a multiple night stay. The onsen quality is excellent, and the food is outstanding; however, what truly sets this place apart is how well-trained every staff member is in providing top-notch hospitality. I believe anyone who stays here would want to return again! I highly recommend this accommodation to those considering an onsen trip or looking for a place to celebrate special occasions. I plan to visit again around autumn!

    Second Stay

    Stayed here again after 3 months. I used the Chef's Room as before, but there were no changes in the food or experience, and I couldn't understand the purpose of the Chef's Room. I expected cooking to be done in front of us and served directly, but instead, they just brought dishes to our table without any live preparation. It felt meaningless and was very disappointing.

    Outstanding hospitality

    I stayed here for my wife's birthday trip. It was our first time visiting Arima Onsen, and we were unfamiliar with the area, but based on other reviews and the fact that we could enjoy teppanyaki, we decided to stay at this accommodation. In conclusion, I definitely want to visit again. My wife, who loves traveling, praised it as "one of the best ryokans we've ever stayed at," which is rare for her. The hospitality, cuisine, onsen, cleanliness of the facility, and even the guest atmosphere—there were no flaws. The hospitality in particular left a strong impression. Every staff member provided pleasant and appropriate service. When visiting Arima Onsen again, I would love to stay here once more.

    The meals were exceptionally delicious.

    I chose to make a reservation here because of the high ratings. The staff's hospitality, the onsen in the large public bath, and the meals were wonderful, allowing me to relax. I think this is a Ryokan worth revisiting. However, the guest room I stayed in felt a bit outdated and not worth the price. The sofa was extremely worn out. The onsen in the room was too lukewarm to enjoy. Spending time in shoes or slippers inside the room felt stressful for me personally. If only the guest room were better, it would have been perfect...

    Stress-Free and Fully Satisfying Accommodation

    We had the pleasure of staying here to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with tea and traditional Japanese sweets, which helped us relax after a long journey. We thoroughly enjoyed the Kinsen and Ginsen Onsen baths multiple times during our stay. Since it was a weekday, both the large public bath and open-air bath were spacious and almost like having them all to ourselves. The private Ginsen open-air bath in our room was at just the right temperature, making it enjoyable both at night and in the morning. The flavor of the dashi in the cuisine was exceptional! The surprise photo session for his 60th birthday celebration and special celebratory dishes made us very happy as well. Thanks to the heartfelt hospitality of all staff members, we had an incredibly satisfying stay.

    Tenjin Spring Source

    I chose Nakanobo Zuien this time after receiving a recommendation from IKYU, as I usually visit the same places. From the moment I arrived at the front desk, it was quiet and calming, with only the sound of water in the background. The Room included a private Kin-sen Onsen. Everything was impeccably clean, allowing for a very comfortable stay. The meal was teppanyaki-style but felt like a kaiseki course, with warm dishes prepared on the teppan grill. Every dish was delicious, and even the rice cooked in an earthen pot had a beautiful shine to it. Despite being Saturday, the large public bath wasn’t crowded at all, allowing for a relaxing soak. The Onsen used Arima’s best natural hot spring source; no matter how many times I entered, it never felt overwhelming and warmed me from within. All of the staff clearly cared deeply about their Ryokan and provided excellent service throughout my stay. Above all else, everything was spotless and well-maintained—making my experience so pleasant that I absolutely want to return!

    Second stay

    I stayed in the same Kin-sen room with a private open-air bath as last time. The previous room was "Mokuge" and this time it was "Takumi-chi." Last time, I accidentally hit the back of my head on the handrail of the open-air bath, but I noticed that the handrail has been shortened and its edges are now diagonally cut for safety, which gave me peace of mind. This hotel always provides exceptional comfort no matter how many times I stay here. In these times, it's rare to find accommodations worth repeating, but Nakano-bo is definitely worth staying 3 or even 5 times. Thank you again for your excellent hospitality!

    Wow! Wow! Wow!

    I was satisfied for the first time in a while from the moment I stepped into the property. This time, I had lunch and enjoyed a day-use bath, first finishing lunch and spending about three hours in the room while enjoying the onsen. Lunch was very satisfying with a little alcohol, wow! Before being shown to the room, I was even served matcha, wow! When I was shown to the room, I immediately wanted to stay overnight, and in the main onsen, the bath buckets and chairs were well-maintained without any blackening, wow! Not only inbound guests, but also Japanese people should be healed by the onsen!! (I will refrain from posting images as I do not have permission.)

    Open-air bath in Kin-sen

    Overall, there are no particular issues. Regarding the "Kinsen Open-air Bath," I have only been able to use it on Fridays and Saturdays, but isn't it alternating between women on the day and men the next morning? I would like it to be changed monthly so that men can also use it on the day of check-in.

    I was healed.

    We stayed with my sister and her husband. Usually, our trips are lively with children and grandchildren, but this time we were able to relax in a calm atmosphere. The meticulous attention and courteous service in every aspect were very soothing. The meals were truly delicious. Not only the taste but also the visual, olfactory, and auditory senses were satisfied. Thank you to all the staff. It's been a year since we lost our mother, and a lot has happened, but this trip refreshed us and gave us the energy to keep going. My mother also loved Onsen.

    I was able to relax very much.

    Upon arriving at the Stays, I was moved by the long-awaited hospitality of matcha and wagashi. The garden view was also nice for a breather. Since the Property was available, I stayed in the Japanese Modern Deluxe. I was impressed by the presence of a slope and toilet door accessible for wheelchair users. From the Room, I could overlook the townscape of Arima Onsen. The lounge exclusively for guests had magazines like Waraku, allowing for a relaxing time. And the bath, even with just a short soak, was warm. It might be due to the high-quality water from the Arima Onsen source. The overall atmosphere of the Ryokan was pleasant, allowing for great relaxation. I also felt the high level of hospitality at the Ryokan. I would like to visit again.

    It became the best memory.

    We stayed in a room with a private open-air bath. The flowing "Kin no Yu" was extremely luxurious. Both dinner and breakfast were sumptuous, and the service was impeccable. The aperitif was delicious, and I wanted to order more, but unfortunately, it was not available due to the season, which was the only disappointment. Overall, it was a very good property and made for the best memories. I would love to visit again.

    Onsen and Cuisine

    The Onsen is gradually improving (recovering) after the major earthquake. The food (Room service) seems to have declined compared to before, and there is a lack of consistency in the tableware. Please do your best; if the budget is tight, it might be okay to raise it a little. Chef, please take care of it; are you observing the site? It's the same for the Nakai-san, but in the end, it's about whether you can be attentive or not. From the customer's perspective, doing what is asked is only natural. I apologize for being demanding.

    A property that satisfies in every aspect

    We visited for the first time as a couple to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. Although we arrived early, we were warmly welcomed from the car drop-off to check-in and matcha service. We were also shown to our room before the official check-in time as it was already prepared. We chose the most affordable plan (which was still luxurious for us), and the Japanese modern twin room allowed us to relax comfortably. The room provided two yukatas, samue, and even pajamas! I appreciated this as I find it difficult to sleep in a yukata. The large public bath was spacious, well-cleaned, and offered two types of towels: soft and highly absorbent, which was impressive. The post-bath drink service, including mini-sized beer, was a delightful touch. For dinner, we chose a course where we could select the main dish at the restaurant. I prefer dining at the restaurant over in-room dining as I dislike lingering food smells (especially meat) in the room. As part of the 60th birthday celebration, we were also offered a complimentary drink and red rice. We each chose two dishes from five options, sharing four dishes as a couple. Everything was delicious, and the portions were just right for us, a couple in our 60s who can't eat as much as we used to. Thank you for the wonderful meal. We wanted a leisurely morning, so we changed breakfast to lunch. The lunch was also delicious (my husband had eel rice, and I had a bento set). With a checkout time of 12 PM, we could enjoy the bath and relax in the lounge. As part of the 60th birthday celebration, we also took photos in the beautiful garden with autumn leaves. Thank you for that. The only disappointment was learning that we could use the baths at Arima Grand Hotel only after seeing the room's information binder. If we had been informed during the room orientation, we would have planned to enjoy those baths as well. Additionally, although this is not the property's fault, the foreign guests in the neighboring room were very noisy late at night, with loud voices and door noises, disrupting our sleep. It wasn't due to thin walls (we couldn't hear any noise from the opposite side, above, below, or the hallway), and the bedding and bed were very comfortable (we could choose from six types of pillows!), so it was unfortunate as we were about to fall asleep happily. It's something unavoidable in this era of inbound tourism. Even with these minor disappointments, I think it's a wonderful property. It's a place I genuinely want to visit again. Looking forward to another opportunity.
