    Disappointing.

    It was a club-floor Room. I used to love this Hotel because the lounge felt the most comfortable in the city, but over the past few years the service and the selection in the lounge have steadily declined, and I’ve been disappointed every time I stayed. This was my first stay in a while, but nothing had improved, and it made me feel like it’s time to stop coming. What stood out in particular: amenities were limited to a toothbrush only. The slippers were so thin that I wondered where they even sell them; they’re difficult for older guests to wear and can make you trip forward, so please be careful. In the lounge, there were very few items, and even at night there wasn’t a single warm dish—just things that are simply cut and plated. For afternoon tea, a huge momiji manju took up space, which honestly made me sad and wonder where the Hotel’s pride has gone. On top of that stand there were always only two store-bought items—wafers and chocolate kisses—and I really wish they would offer Hotel-made cookies or similar instead. It was especially disappointing because it used to be excellent a few years ago.

    How comfortable is the club lounge?

    The best in Hiroshima. I’ve stayed here many times, and every visit reminds me how wonderful it is—the view from the large windows, the relaxed atmosphere, the interior design, and above all, a space where you can truly unwind. I also love the color scheme of the carpet leading from the spacious elevator lobby on the guestroom floor into the Room. In fact, I used the lounge at ANA Kobe the week before, but I felt this Hotel surpassed it in every way. A place that makes you want to come back—this is that kind of Hotel. I’ll continue to stay here.

    Upper floors offer better views.

    The Room was spacious, and the vanity area was also large, so my daughter and I didn’t have to compete for the mirror while getting ready to leave. I also appreciated having a magnifying mirror available. We had breakfast on the first floor, and even when we arrived after 9:00, we could still take items from the buffet until 10:00, so we were able to eat at a relaxed pace. Late check-out was also available, which made our stay truly relaxing. The downside is that the bathroom door is glass, so it feels very exposed.

    Club Room Stay

    Both the Room and the club lounge were excellent. However, one thing: during cocktail time in the club lounge, the best seats were marked “Reserved,” and after a while they were used by guests who had made a Reservation. This was my first time seeing seats being reservable in a club lounge, so I didn’t know about it. If Reservations are possible and that means you can’t use those seats even if you arrive early, could you please clarify whether guests can reserve good seats simply by asking staff? If so, I would appreciate an announcement so that the conditions are fair for everyone. Thank you.

    The Japanese restaurant Unkai was excellent.

    The Hotel itself wasn’t particularly noteworthy—just fairly ordinary. With the IKYU Diamond benefit, I received a 1,000-yen coupon at check-in that could be used within the property. Using it, I had a welcome dinner at the on-site Japanese restaurant “Unkai.” The atmosphere was lovely, and I was able to enjoy a delicious meal at a relaxed pace while looking out over the Japanese garden. Normally, since we had come all the way to Hiroshima, we would have gone out into town for dinner, but I truly feel glad we chose this instead.

    The Club Floor might be the best choice after all.

    This was my second time staying on the Club Floor. It was very comfortable last time, so I chose it again. I relaxed in the Club Lounge reading the newspaper and enjoying coffee. There’s nothing in particular to add about the Room.

    It was disappointing...

    It was disappointing that, although we had access to the Club Lounge on the 22nd floor, we couldn’t use it due to scheduling conflicts. The Room was very spacious and comfortable.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time back in Hiroshima in a while, and I was able to relax. I also used the club lounge. Since it was Saturday, it was crowded, but everything else met my expectations. I appreciated being offered a Room upgrade. For breakfast, I chose Japanese cuisine and enjoyed a leisurely meal while looking out at the garden.

    Excellent access in Hiroshima.

    This time I stayed for work, but this Hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing and dining. Check-in at the lobby front desk is always handled smoothly. Of course, it is also recommended for business stays.

    I used it for a live concert.

    I stayed here for a live event. I was kept waiting during check-in, and members were prioritized, so I had to wait quite a long time. There was no solicitation to become a member. After checking in, I was made to wait even longer because the Room still wasn’t ready. There was dust behind the TV. I don’t know if it’s due to being understaffed, but I came here to forget about everyday life and it was disappointing. The only saving grace was that the breakfast rice balls were delicious.

    Thank you for taking such great care of me since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, with Accommodation rates rising, I haven’t been able to stay as often, but the front desk staff still remembered me, and I always looked forward to seeing them. Also, dining at Unkai was one of the highlights of my business trips. Everyone in charge was so kind, and I was able to enjoy not only breakfast but also dinner—and a relaxing drink on my own. Thank you very much.

    This Hotel offers great value for money.

    I was a little disappointed that the bathroom was a unit bath, but otherwise I was satisfied. Thank you for kindly arranging an anniversary cake for us. As strength training is my hobby, being able to use a fully equipped gym free of charge was another plus. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    I was very satisfied with the IHG service. From check-in onward, the staff provided attentive, detailed support, and being able to relax in the dedicated lounge allowed me to unwind in a calm and comfortable atmosphere. If I have the opportunity again, I would like to request the IHG service.

    Warm and welcoming hospitality

    On my first trip back to Hiroshima in a while, I wasn’t sure where to stay, but I chose this ANA because I’d had great experiences with ANA in other areas—and it turned out to be a wonderful stay. Since the lounge is on the top floor, I was able to enjoy afternoon tea while taking in the amazing view. The breakfast featuring “sea of clouds” was also delicious. It’s rare to find a Hotel with such a spacious washing area, so it was stress-free, though it was a bit disappointing that the drainage was somewhat slow.

    The view from the lounge is spectacular.

    We stayed here as a family of three during our trip to Hiroshima. Our daughter was about 8 months old, but we were able to stay comfortably even with a baby, and our family could truly relax. Thank you for accommodating our request for a baby crib. The view from the lounge was wonderful. It became a great memory for us.

    It was somewhat crow...

    It was somewhat crowded, but the front desk staff were excellent and I was able to check in without any stress. The wooden key card felt nice to the touch, and I appreciated the attention to detail. At first I was confused because neither the key card nor its paper sleeve showed the Room number, but a staff member near the elevator told me where it was indicated. This was my first time staying at a Hotel with staff stationed there at check-in, and it also felt like thoughtful service. The Room was clean as well, and I’m glad I chose this place. What disappointed me was that part of the property was under construction and the drilling noise was very loud. There was a note on the desk in my Room explaining that it would end by 5:00 p.m., and it did finish before then. Since check-in is available from 3:00 p.m., I checked in around 4:00 p.m., but personally the sound quality was unbearable so I went out. Could this have been disclosed at the time of Reservation? I visited Hiroshima for sightseeing, and if I had known in advance, I could have checked in after 5:00 p.m. How long will the construction continue? I hope no other guests have to go through the same experience.

    It is a good Hotel.

    The club lounge is easy to use. The food during cocktail time is simple. It may have been just that bottle, but it was disappointing that the red wine had a slight cork taint.

    With over 40 years in operation, some aging of the Facility and equipment is unavoidable.

    Overall, it felt like an old-fashioned regional Hotel. The reception had a large counter with several staff standing by; the parking lot was down another level below the underground unloading area, past trucks. At the breakfast buffet, when I tried to order egg dishes such as an omelet, no one was there, and I ended up asking a nearby staff member to call someone over. The Room was an Executive Twin on the club floor, but several areas of the floor felt soft and seemed like they might give way. The club lounge also felt more like a coffee shop than a lounge. They were trying hard, but overall it left a disappointing impression.

    I stayed at this Hotel for a concert in Hiroshima. Even considering it was a Saturday, the Room felt small for the price, and I was surprised that the only amenity provided was a toothbrush. The unit bath felt like one in a Business Hotel. Breakfast was delicious, but I left feeling quite disappointed.

    Small disappointments add up.

    I made a Reservation because I trusted the ANA brand (having had good experiences at other properties). However, throughout my stay, I encountered a series of disappointing responses. First, I had reserved a Room with lounge access. When I arrived one hour before check-in, even though I hadn’t asked anything, I was told in a harsh tone, “We won’t check you in until 3:00—no one does,” which was very surprising. In addition, the staff member who carried my luggage dropped my backpack, and I worried that the PC inside might have been damaged (fortunately it was fine). Since we had time, I asked at the front desk about using the café. Although there are actually two locations, only one was mentioned. When I asked again to confirm, they responded as if it were a hassle. When I asked whether it would be okay since it wasn’t on the menu, they only said, “It’s just not on the menu,” then left without even a greeting. At the café as well, they guided guests with Reservations first without saying anything to us even though we had entered earlier—leaving us confused and unattended. Unpleasant interactions continued like this. During the stay itself there were no major issues with the lounge or similar areas; however, at breakfast the next morning—despite being on a Plan that included breakfast—I was charged an additional fee. After checking they admitted it was their mistake and apologized, but since they had confirmed our Room number and name beforehand, it left me wondering what that confirmation was for. With multiple incidents piling up, I couldn’t shake my distrust throughout the stay and unfortunately did not feel like returning. During my trip I booked another Hotel and stayed there the following night.

    A Hotel in Hiroshima You’ll Be Glad You Chose

    I was torn between several Hotels for my stay in Hiroshima, but I chose ANA Crowne Plaza and stayed two nights in the Junior Suite Royal. It was a great choice—I was very satisfied. From the Room on the 21st floor, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Seto Inland Sea and the islands, including Itsukushima. The Room was thoroughly cleaned and felt very fresh, and the amenities were excellent: a SONY wall-mounted TV, a BOSE wireless speaker, a SHARP air purifier with humidifier, an espresso machine, and automatic curtain controls. The walk-in closet is spacious, as are the bathroom and bathtub—very comfortable overall. One minor point: the toilet lighting is a bit dim, making it hard to read the text on the wall-mounted control panel. The club lounge felt slightly crowded at times, and neither afternoon tea nor cocktail service had any particularly standout items. Your room key limits access to your accommodation floor selection, so the club floor is quiet; however, since there are party rooms on the same floor as the club lounge that anyone can access, it can feel busy at times. The Hotel’s location is also ideal for sightseeing: Peace Memorial Park is extremely close, and you can easily walk to both the Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Castle. There are also plenty of convenience stores nearby, as well as a local supermarket. Many restaurants are within walking distance too. If I stay in Hiroshima again… I will definitely choose ANA Crowne Plaza.

    We stayed on the Club Floor. The dedicated desk staff were very helpful, including making a ferry reservation for the next day and quickly arranging seating for us when the lounge was crowded.

    The breakfast morning steak was... (tears)

    This Hotel is becoming my favorite regular Accommodation whenever I visit Hiroshima. It’s very conveniently located, close to the downtown shopping arcade and within walking distance of the bus center. The Facility isn’t new, but everything is kept clean; the Room was also spotless, and I was very satisfied with the service and hospitality. Having a members-only fitness club inside the Hotel feels truly one of a kind, and even non-members can use it as guests. I believe your signature breakfast used to be the morning steak, but it seems to have been removed after a renewal. For me—since it’s no exaggeration to say I stayed mainly for that morning steak—this was extremely disappointing. Considering today’s circumstances, I told myself it couldn’t be helped and checked out, but if possible, I sincerely hope the morning steak will return someday. Thank you as always, and thank you again for this stay.

    Excellent Club Lounge

    It had been a while since my last stay, so I had been looking forward to it for some time. This time, I stayed specifically to enjoy the club lounge on the top floor. The club lounge was very clean, and the view over downtown Hiroshima was wonderful. The two young male staff members in the club lounge on check-in day were extremely polite, welcoming, and professional. Their service felt fresh and attentive; they worked quickly, used very courteous language, and were impeccably well-groomed—there is nothing at all to fault. They may be early in their careers, but their dedication deserves a perfect score! I’m sure they will become valuable employees wherever they work. Thanks to the spotless, spacious lounge and the excellent hospitality from the staff, I was able to feel refreshed both physically and mentally. I have just one request regarding the club lounge: for afternoon tea time, I would love for the sweets to be offered buffet-style. I look forward to sweets more than alcohol, so I’d like to enjoy a wider variety. The Room, club lounge, breakfast (the first-floor venue), club lounge staff, location—everything exceeded my expectations in every way. I already have a Reservation for another stay at the end of May, and I’m looking forward to it from now. Thank you very much for your wonderful care during this visit.

    It was very good.

    We stayed for one night with our child. All the staff were very kind, and we are grateful. The Room was clean and well maintained, which was great. The afternoon tea in the lounge and the breakfast were delicious. It was a pity that we couldn’t use the cocktail time with our child.

    Delicious breakfast

    The breakfast was unexpectedly delicious, and I especially enjoyed the freshly made rice balls. I was also happy to see ingredients unique to Hiroshima used in the dishes. We were able to check out late, and at lunchtime we also dined at the Chinese restaurant in the Hotel. The fried rice in the set menu was outstanding, with perfectly separated grains.

    It was comfortable.

    We stayed for two nights in a Club Floor Executive Twin. Breakfast was relaxing on the top floor, and we enjoyed delicious sweets at afternoon tea time. The Room was spacious, the air didn’t feel dry, and it was very comfortable. All the staff were very kind, which made our stay pleasant. It’s a bit far from Hiroshima Station, but it’s close to the nearest streetcar stop, so it wasn’t an issue. We also had Chinese food; there was plenty of space between seats, they were very welcoming to children, and everything was delicious. I was a little surprised that there didn’t seem to be a lock on the toilet door, but since we were family it was fine (haha). The tea provided in the Room was Ronnefeldt as well, which felt luxurious. We’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.
