    The artificial flowers in the Room...

    It is an old Hotel, but overall I was satisfied. The artificial flowers in the Room lacked taste, which was my only complaint. The breakfast was delicious.

    Special Plan

    This time, I stayed under the special "Reasonable Plan." It was a very affordable plan, so I didn't have high expectations. However, I was deeply impressed by the courteous service. Moreover, I was surprised to be provided with a spacious room offering a view of Kumamoto Castle. Additionally, when I requested milk tea as my welcome drink, it came with a pot and even slightly warmed milk. This thoughtful gesture exceeded my expectations and moved me. Initially feeling apologetic for choosing the no-breakfast plan, I decided to add breakfast later. Although it was a set meal, it was delicious and satisfying. The elevator had red and white roses arranged inside, which created a calming atmosphere. Thank you very much for your exceptional hospitality during this stay!

    You can see Kumamoto Castle from the Room.

    I stayed at Kumamoto Hotel Castle to enjoy a room with a view of Kumamoto Castle, and my room was 815. The image of the room at the time of reservation showed a slightly vibrant red interior, but in reality, it was a calm green-toned room, which I preferred. For dinner, I did not make a reservation and used the restaurant on the first floor on the day. Many of the staff were young and fresh. The view of Kumamoto Castle from the room was excellent, and at night, the illuminated castle was very beautiful.

    The Room with a Castle View was excellent.

    I visited for my first trip to Kumamoto. The Room offered a stunning view of the castle, and the changing expressions of the main keep during evening, night, and morning left a lasting impression. While the Room and Facility showed some signs of age, they were clean and well-maintained. The staff's courteous service was also very pleasant. However, one disappointment was breakfast. Due to what seemed to be renovations at the usual breakfast venue, we were directed to another location. When we arrived slightly after 7 AM, it was already full with a line of about 10 people waiting—many from international tour groups. We waited standing for about 20 minutes; unfortunately, some guests became frustrated and left before being seated. It would have been helpful if we had been informed at check-in so that we could consider other options... This aspect felt disappointing.

    It was a wonderful Hotel, perfect for the start of your journey.

    The staff were all very pleasant, making our stay comfortable. The directions to Kumamoto Castle were clear and explained with great care. The view of the illuminated Kumamoto Castle from the room was also fantastic. The arrangement for a taxi upon departure was swift, and it arrived at the entrance in no time. Starting our Kyushu trip at such a wonderful hotel made our 3-night, 4-day journey truly memorable. As they say, "Well begun is half done," and my wife and I are deeply moved by this experience. Thank you very much!

    I had a great stay at the Hotel.

    It used to be the top Hotel in Kumamoto, but with the emergence of major Hotels, it no longer holds that title. However, both the service and the Room maintained a strong sense of tradition. I was surprised at how affordable it was. Of course, it wasn't a castle view Room.

    Convenient Hotel close to the city center.

    This time, I stayed for four nights. While I have used several Hotels during my visits to Kumamoto, this was my first time staying at this Hotel. The Facility, to be honest, shows its age, and I was particularly concerned about the stains on the carpet. However, the cleaning was thorough, and I was able to enjoy a comfortable stay. The Hotel staff were very pleasant, and I felt the dignity of a long-established Hotel in Kumamoto. I had a great time during my late summer vacation! Thank you very much.

    The room was on the Kumamoto Castle side. I enjoyed the view of Kumamoto Castle from the window. The room was clean as well. The hairdryer was ReFa, which was great. The front desk staff were kind and helpful. I would like to stay here again.

    A classic and excellent Hotel

    Located right in front of Kumamoto Castle and close to the downtown area, this Hotel is very convenient. While it has a slightly older charm, the staff at the front desk exude a sense of classic elegance, making for a very comfortable stay. Premium TGW tea and coffee are provided in-room. The Eldorado bar lounge was absolutely delightful. I look forward to visiting again.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay, and while the hotel itself is somewhat old, the room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The walls seemed thick as it was very quiet with almost no noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms. I had a hard time deciding where to stay in Kumamoto City, but choosing this hotel turned out to be an excellent decision.

    It was good last time, but I expected too much!

    When I stayed in June, the Room was great, so I visited again in August. Since it was a similar Plan, I expected another Room with a nice view, but the first Room they assigned me was terrible! When I requested a change, they said an upgrade would cost 3,000 yen, which made me upset. Especially since I came from far away... I should have booked two nights at the twin Room of Nikko Hotel yesterday!!

    The staff's hospitality was truly comforting.

    Our flight was delayed, and we arrived much later than planned. We were worried about dinner, but the staff kindly and courteously recommended nearby dining options. We enjoyed local cuisine and had a truly satisfying experience. From arrival to departure, our stay was filled with relaxation and comfort. We were deeply moved by the heartfelt service provided.

    Comfortable Stay

    We stayed as a family. The view of Kumamoto Castle right in front was magnificent. While the Facility is old, it is well-maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The staff at the front desk and concierge were very attentive and provided helpful advice. Overall, it was a wonderful Hotel.

    This is a prestigious and elegant hotel. It has been a dream destination for my mother, who is originally from Kumamoto, and we stayed here at her strong request. The room was a Japanese-style suite with beds, featuring an impressive bathroom and offering a castle view from the window. We could relax in the room while admiring the majestic Kumamoto Castle. The accommodation was spotless and felt very clean throughout. The hotel staff, ranging from young members to experienced veterans, were all kind and made our stay comfortable and worry-free. Breakfast was served in a set meal style; it was delicious and exuded sophistication. My elderly mother finished her meal completely with satisfaction. I think this is an excellent accommodation. My mother was delighted, making it a truly joyful stay for us both.

    I stayed here during a business trip.

    Located in a prime spot with a close-up view of Kumamoto Castle, this is a long-established hotel favored by the Imperial Family. I was fortunate to be upgraded to a twin Room. My companion stayed in a single Room but mentioned that the space was more than sufficient. While some of the Facility's features show slight aging, it is understandable. The hairdryer provided was the latest model from brand R. I chose a breakfast-included Plan, and it offered an indulgent start to the day with its variety and flavors. I would love to revisit on my next business trip. Thank you very much!

    At the Breakfast Venue

    I chose a later breakfast time to avoid the crowds, but nearby guests were talking loudly and using their phones without consideration. I ended up leaving without finishing half of my meal. I don't understand why all three groups of guests were seated so close together despite the space available. Although I used to stay here twice a month because of the nice atmosphere, I am now considering exploring other hotels.

    Room with a view of the castle

    I reserved a twin room with a castle view and breakfast included. The facility is slightly outdated, such as the sink not having a mixer tap, but I was happy with the 8th-floor room facing the castle. Breakfast was not a buffet, but there were various options, and it was delicious.

    A Hotel for a Relaxing Stay

    The Hotel had a sense of grandeur and a very calm atmosphere. It was quiet, allowing for a restful sleep. The Japanese set meal was delicious.

    The owner has changed.

    The most surprising thing during this stay was that, although it was a rental car, upon arriving at the hotel with a doorman present, they just stood there watching without taking any action. Even while unloading suitcases, they didn’t ask anything. Before that, there wasn’t even a greeting. It made me wonder if something was off. We ended up pulling our suitcases to the front desk ourselves. That said, they did allow us to park in the space in front of the hotel despite it being a rental car. However, I found it odd that they didn’t even ask if we were staying at the accommodation before letting us park there (laughs). At check-in, I asked if ownership had changed since it had been about a year since my last visit and received a simple "Yes" as an answer. While it's understandable that inbound tourism has increased and workloads may have risen as well, hotels are part of the hospitality industry—surely offering warm greetings is essential?

    Delicious breakfast

    Stayed with a one-day prior reservation. The staff's reception and service were polite and left a good impression. There seem to be both renovated and non-renovated rooms, and I stayed in a non-renovated room. The room had facilities that matched its age, and since I had seen high reviews about the room facilities, I was slightly disappointed. Breakfast offered both Japanese and Western options; I chose the Japanese meal, which was very delicious. It seems to be frequently used for weddings and various gatherings, so there was noticeable activity from non-guests entering and exiting the accommodation.

    A convenient and prestigious Hotel in the heart of the city

    Chosen as an accommodation during a Kyushu drive. Close to Kumamoto Castle, located in the city center, and easy to park—perfect choice. After check-in, we strolled around the nearby shopping street and enjoyed a delicious dinner right near the hotel. A prestigious hotel where we had a memorable night.

    Despite being a hist...

    Despite being a historic building, it is a wonderful Hotel that does not make you feel its age. The location is excellent, and the view of Kumamoto Castle from the window is magnificent. The staff's thoughtfulness and warm smiles were also impressive. I will visit again.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    The location and view were absolutely excellent. The bathroom was also very comfortable and impressive, with thoughtful touches like extra bath towels, a headrest-shaped indentation in the bathtub, and responsive channel and volume buttons for the bathroom TV. Despite being in the city center, it was remarkably quiet, possibly thanks to the double-paned windows. While I understand it may be challenging due to the fixed window structure, cleaner exterior windows would have provided an even clearer view of Kumamoto Castle for a perfect experience. The room's built-in Bluetooth speaker by Marshall had excellent sound quality and stylish design, which added to our enjoyment. The variety of pillows available for loan was also great; when I called to request one, it was promptly delivered with a smile. Additionally, we were able to purchase delicious prepared dishes from Kumamoto Hotel Castle at the nearby Tsuruya Department Store. Enjoying this wonderful food while gazing at the illuminated Kumamoto Castle from our room made for an unforgettable experience. I will definitely choose this Hotel again when staying in Kumamoto. It truly made for a perfect trip!

    A city Hotel with a classical atmosphere

    This was my first stay at the accommodation. Built with the combined efforts of Kumamoto's political and business communities to serve as the lodging for Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress during the Kumamoto National Sports Festival, it left a strong impression as a prestigious hotel with its solid construction and overall classical design. One memorable aspect was that breakfast was not a buffet but offered in a style where you could choose either a Japanese or Western plate. I chose Japanese, and every dish was delightful without any disappointments. If I were to point out some drawbacks: - Understandably due to the age of the building, there were some black spots on the bathroom (three-piece unit) walls that appeared to be cracks or mold, which caught my attention. - The room's air conditioning temperature control did not work (possibly broken?). It felt slightly cold, so I tried increasing the temperature, but there was no response from the air conditioner.

    It was a highly satisfying stay.

    I stayed for 3 nights in a Room with a view of Kumamoto Castle. Opening the curtains and seeing the castle immediately lifted my spirits. I could also walk to Tsuruya Department Store and Sakuramachi Kumamoto. Everything was convenient, and I had a very comfortable stay. I would love to stay here again when visiting Kumamoto.

    A Hotel Representing Kumamoto

    Kumamoto Castle Hotel is a prestigious accommodation that truly represents Kumamoto, with an atmosphere of grandeur and impressive architecture throughout the property. I was fortunate to stay in a room with a view of Kumamoto Castle, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. During my stay, I also visited the hotel's bar, which turned out to be an exceptional space featuring live piano performances, creating a truly special experience. The room I stayed in had a traditional design; however, upon departure, I noticed there were renovated rooms available. Next time, I would love to stay in one of those updated rooms.

    It was great to be able to choose a pillow.

    The hotel had a slightly old-fashioned touch (you need to return the key to the front desk when going out), but the staff service was excellent. Additionally, I could choose my pillow (I requested both buckwheat and high-resilience types), which allowed me to sleep soundly.
