    Reliable as always—Japan Airlines.

    I reserved a Room with a view of Kumamoto Castle, and thanks to the great weather, I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the Room. The Room Facilities were good, and I had a comfortable stay. For breakfast, I chose the buffet. I felt that refilling the dishes was a bit slow. Each dish was delicious. The omelet was also very good. It was disappointing that the coffee maker was broken. Overall, it was a great Accommodation. If I visit Kumamoto again, I would like to stay here again.

    Still wonderful as always!

    I stay here once or twice every year. While the Facility feels a bit dated, the staff’s service and the meals are truly excellent. This time I stayed with my elderly father, and we were able to relax and feel at ease throughout our stay. Thank you very much.

    This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    Right in front of the bus stop and Tsuruya Department Store, close to the tram station, and within walking distance of Kumamoto Castle—an excellent location. Although it wasn’t a Room with a castle view, it was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. All the Hotel staff were cheerful and kind, which truly warmed my tired heart. I couldn’t make it up to the main keep of Osaka Castle this time, so I hope to stay again when I come back for another try.

    It was comfortable again this time.

    Once again, I enjoyed a comfortable stay in a clean Room. The Benkei white rice was very delicious. I also liked the next day’s buffet, where I could try small portions of Kumamoto specialties. The staff were courteous and attentive, and I was very satisfied again.

    A must for your trip to Kumamoto.

    Highly recommended for staying in Kumamoto City. The location is unbeatable—right near the arcade shopping street and within walking distance of Kumamoto Castle. At night, I could even see the illuminated castle from my Room. A limousine bus also departs and arrives right in front of the Hotel for easy access to the airport. The Room was a standard twin, but it was spacious enough with a separate bath and toilet, and the hospitality truly lived up to what you’d expect from a Nikko Hotel. If you’re staying in Kumamoto City, this is a Hotel I would definitely recommend.

    Reliable Nikko Hotel

    I wanted Accommodation near Kumamoto Castle, and made a Reservation because it looked like I would have a great view of the castle. At Hotel Nikko, breakfast often comes with multiple options, including local dishes, which I really appreciate.

    Highly recommended for staying in downtown Kumamoto City.

    Kumamoto Castle, the bus terminal, and the downtown area are all within walking distance, making it very convenient. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. Whether it’s the character of Kumamoto or the quality of the Hotel staff, no matter who you ask or what you ask, you receive thoughtful, personal answers rather than scripted responses—I had a genuinely heartwarming conversation for the first time in a while. I would definitely like to stay again next time.

    Comfort and peace of mind.

    I stayed here on a solo trip. From the twin Room, I had a direct view of Kumamoto Castle. At night, the crescent moon and the illuminated castle appeared dreamlike and beautifully vivid. The Benkei breakfast I had been looking forward to was just as delicious as expected—refined seasoning, high-quality ingredients, careful presentation, attentive staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. Everything was excellent. The front desk staff and the staff who guided me to the elevator were also very courteous, making my stay truly pleasant. The Room was thoroughly cleaned and spacious enough. Thanks to the comfort and sense of security, I was able to relax. This is a Hotel I would love to stay at again.

    Highly satisfied

    The bathroom is separate from the toilet and feels very clean. We had our meal at Benkei, a Japanese restaurant. Every dish was handmade with gentle, delicious flavors, and we were very satisfied. Kumamoto Castle was clearly visible from the Room, and the view was wonderful. This is a Hotel we would like to stay at again. Thank you very much.

    The meals are excellent.

    There was a wide variety of breakfast options, and I enjoyed them all. They also included local specialties like Ikinari Dango, and the omelet was delicious. One of the best parts of traveling is a satisfying breakfast like this. The hospitality was excellent as well. Thank you very much.

    It was my first stay in 12 years.

    I stayed here 12 years ago when my child was still in elementary school. It was such a wonderful Hotel that I always hoped to return someday, and this time we finally stayed for two nights. Back then, everything seemed to sparkle… but this time, the service was disappointing. The guidance to our Room after check-in was careless: there was no explanation of the Facility inside the building, and above all, there was no information at all about emergency exits. We were not told to check any in-room guide either, and even after looking through the TV area and drawers, we couldn’t find anything clear. After going out, we couldn’t figure out which elevator to take back to our Room. When I asked a staff member, they replied in a casual, friend-like way: “Where are you going?” At checkout as well, when I asked “Is that everything?”, I only got “Yes, that’s it.” There was some interaction about whether I needed a Receipt, but after payment they kept working on the computer without looking at us. There wasn’t even a standard “We look forward to welcoming you again.” Is this what Nikko Hotels are like these days? It was very disappointing. I don’t think this is a four-star Hotel. I had assumed the expensive parking fee was because it’s Hotel Nikko, but considering this experience overall, the pricing doesn’t match the service. The staff were chatting with each other near the front desk without even offering basic greetings—yet guests are paying for that level of service. At minimum, I would like proper hospitality and courteous customer service. *The Room cleaning was thorough—thank you very much for that.*

    It’s very convenient...

    It’s very convenient—take the airport limousine bus and get off at Toricho-suji, and it’s just a short walk away. The return bus to the airport also stops right in front of the Hotel. The Room has a great view, with Kumamoto Castle visible from the window. The staff were kind as well. When I asked about an izakaya where I could eat basashi (horse sashimi), they showed me photos of the atmosphere and menu on a screen, which was very helpful. It was a very comfortable Hotel, but there was one thing… I made a Reservation for a Room with separate toilet and bath, but it wasn’t completely separate. If someone in the same Room is using the bath or sink area, you can’t use the toilet. That was slightly disappointing, but overall it’s a wonderful Hotel.

    I happened to find a...

    I happened to find a great-value Plan, and although I didn’t have any particular reason to travel, I stayed here mainly for the dining. I’ve visited Toh-Lee many times; the dishes are well balanced, delicious, and beautifully presented. Benkei was just as impressive—each item was outstanding, and I was excited to see what would come next. I dined alone at both restaurants, but the staff kindly spoke with me, allowing me to spend a relaxing time. The Room was clean and spacious, and I almost felt sorry to be able to stay at this price. Thank you very much.

    As always, I enjoyed...

    As always, I enjoyed breakfast. Compared with other Nikko Hotels, there is a wider variety and it is delicious, so I always look forward to it. I look forward to staying again next time. It would be helpful if the payment machine at the exit of the underground parking garage had a left-side option.

    This is my favorite Hotel.

    Several new Hotels have opened both right by and near the station, so it may be hard to compete on convenience. Still, I love how you cherish seasonal traditions for your guests and offer a calm, unhurried atmosphere. Every time I visit, I feel relieved—like I’ve come home. I hope your understated hospitality will remain unchanged, and I’d love to return again someday… P.S. The takana rice was delicious!

    A stay you won’t regret.

    First of all, the location is excellent. The streetcar and bus stop right in front. It also feels like a convenient hub for getting to many different areas. The Room, bath, meals, and staff service are all very good. The bath is spacious, and I really appreciated having a separate washing area. The Japanese food is delicious. There is also a wide variety of Western dishes, including local specialties, and everything tastes great. Overall, I was very satisfied and would like to stay again if I have the chance. These are my impressions from a Multiple Night Stay of three nights.

    Prices are comparable to a Business Hotel, and the Room has been renovated.

    As soon as I entered the Room, I could see Kumamoto Castle beautifully lit up beyond the window, and I’m glad I switched Hotels. Sorry to the Hotel I originally booked. My flight was delayed, so it was disappointing that I couldn’t have dinner at the Hotel. The next morning’s buffet had lots of Kumamoto specialties, and I ate too much. I was so full that I couldn’t try Kumamoto ramen, which is my one regret. Kumamoto was just a stopover on my way elsewhere, and although I stayed near the station, access from the station was also very convenient. The staff’s service was excellent, as expected. When I tried to take a photo with Kumamon, a staff member noticed from afar and quickly came over to help. Thank you very much.

    A Comfortable Mother-Daughter Trip

    This was our first stay at Hotel Nikko Kumamoto. My mother has lingering effects from a fracture and cannot squat deeply, so she was especially anxious about bathing. When we consulted in advance about the bathtub setup, we were told that a care bath chair and a non-slip mat could be provided, which allowed us to visit with peace of mind. In an unfamiliar place, it can be difficult for her to brace on one leg, so we have to be very careful on slippery surfaces. Thanks to your support, she was happy that she could bathe comfortably and safely. You also lent us extra towels, which truly helped. The Room was very clean and comfortable, and it was wonderful to have a view of Kumamoto Castle. We chose the breakfast buffet, and there were many Kumamoto specialties—we really enjoyed it. Thank you very much for your kindness. With your hospitality and the sense of security you provided, our time at the Hotel allowed us to rest both body and mind. Thanks to your thoughtful preparations, my mother was able to spend a wonderful birthday. It is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

    It was great.

    Even with JAL Hotels, there seems to be some variation, but Kumamoto was excellent. As for the restaurant, if there were an exclusive menu for guests at a reasonable price, I would have loved to dine at the hotel. It would be great if such information were mentioned on the website. I look forward to visiting again next time at a leisurely pace.

    Perfect for a Kumamoto trip

    I stayed here with my partner during our trip to Kumamoto. The lounge's Kumamon-themed fireplace was adorable. While not a very large Hotel, it had a luxurious and clean atmosphere. There is no public bath available. Our Room faced away from Kumamoto Castle, so the view was average. The amenities were excellent, featuring ReFa products for the showerhead, hairdryer, and shampoo bottles—impressive! The Simmons bed was fluffy and incredibly comfortable to sleep on. We had dinner in the city but enjoyed the breakfast buffet the next morning. It offered a wide variety of dishes, including many local specialties, which left us very satisfied. The price was reasonable and made this Hotel easy to use. Thank you for providing such a comfortable experience!

    Mother-Daughter Trip

    If you're staying in Kumamoto, Hotel Nikko is the perfect choice! Recommended by my husband, I made the Reservation without hesitation. Conveniently located near Kumamoto Castle and right in the heart of the downtown area. The staff's exceptional hospitality was truly impressive. Although this was a short stay, I look forward to enjoying a more leisurely hotel experience next time.

    It was a comfortable stay!

    This was our second stay since our family trip last autumn. The view of Kumamoto Castle from the room was exciting. The bed was comfortable, allowing us to sleep soundly. We loved that the Comfort Floor featured ReFa showerheads, shampoos, and hairdryers. (The large bathtub made for a relaxing long soak.) We enjoyed both breakfast options: the Japanese-Western buffet on the 2nd floor and the Japanese set meal on the 7th floor. Both were absolutely delicious. This time, we also indulged in afternoon tea at the lobby lounge on the 1st floor. (The Christmas menu added extra excitement!) Our two-night stay felt too short because it was so comfortable. The location is convenient for getting around, and shopping at the department store right in front of us was delightful. We would love to stay here again when visiting Kumamoto. We even purchased the hotel’s signature scent to enjoy at home. Thank you very much!

    The entrance lobby with Kumamon and the fireplace is impressive. The Room is clean but has a simple design. It was a three-piece unit, which is understandable. The line desk is very convenient for work. Breakfast is extremely delicious, especially the horse meat curry and Lu Rou Fan. There were also two types of grilled fish, which was nice. The price is on the higher side, but overall, the menu variety and balance are excellent.

    Regular Accommodation

    This is my go-to place for business trips to Kumamoto. The location is unbeatable! The breakfast is delicious! It would be perfect if there were a fitness center, but you can enjoy a morning walk around Kumamoto Castle.
