    We had a very comfortable stay.

    All the staff were very pleasant, and I had a comfortable stay. The Room was clean, and the breakfast menu was great. I would like to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

    It was very comfortable.

    I was worried about the crowds during Golden Week in Kyoto, but choosing this Hotel with an excellent location made it easy to get around by both bus and train, and we had a very satisfying trip. The morning buffet was delicious, and the experienced staff provided courteous service, making for a pleasant start to the day. The younger front desk staff also helped us earnestly, which we truly appreciated. This may be specific to families with small children like ours, but it would have been even better if there were a coin laundry and a microwave. Overall, we were more than 90% satisfied.

    I stayed here again for the first time in 30 years.

    Over the past few years, I’ve visited Kyoto a few times a year. Although I had considered your Hotel, I usually chose a property directly connected to the station because I worried about sudden rain. This time, however, I stayed at Hotel Keihan Kyoto Century. I stayed here with my late wife when we were newlyweds. As a treat for myself after being busy since February, I made a Reservation for the renovated Kyoto Premium Room. As expected for a newly renovated Room, it was very clean. I booked with breakfast and used it on the morning of day 2 and day 4. The food was delicious and satisfying, but it was the same menu both times, which was a bit disappointing. Also, there were many international guests who may not have been familiar with how things work, so it felt slightly difficult to move around. Regarding the Room: on the first day, I noticed the step up into the toilet and bathroom area. It may be unavoidable due to the layout, but I tripped several times. I got used to it from day 2 onward. The drawstring on the pouch containing the hair dryer was soaking wet. I’m not sure whether I got it wet or if it was already like that. I don’t think I would have done so since it was placed on the shelf under the sink. Also, I declined sheet changes and requested only towel replacement, but apparently trash is not collected in that case. I should have mentioned that as well. Overall, each staff member’s service was good, and it wasn’t as far from the station as I expected—so I’d like to stay again. (Though Kyoto Premium feels a bit luxurious for one person.) Thank you for taking care of me over these four days.

    In Kyoto, where over...

    In Kyoto, where overseas Hotel brands are rapidly expanding, I heard that the long-established Century Hotel had renovated its rooms to feature a stronger Japanese style, so I stayed there right away. However, I was often assisted by foreign staff; although they could speak Japanese, they did not anticipate guests’ needs or read the situation well, so the heartfelt hospitality felt incomplete. Even if only the rooms emphasize a Japanese atmosphere, it is disappointing when the service does not reflect true Japanese hospitality.

    It was exactly as described in the Review—absolutely fantastic.

    Although it’s just a short walk from Kyoto Station, once inside it was quiet and felt like a different world. The lobby was calm, and the front desk staff greeted us with warm smiles and courteous service, which made us feel at ease. The Room was clean, bright, and extremely comfortable. On top of that, the hair dryer and curling iron were from the brand my daughter had been interested in—they were so easy to use that she literally squealed with excitement. Both my daughter and I said we definitely want to stay again next time, add breakfast, and relax more. We were truly moved throughout our stay.

    I stayed for two nights. It had been a while, so there were some changes, such as amenities no longer being placed in the Room, but everything was very clean and I had a comfortable stay. The staff from Asian countries who looked after my luggage were all kind and made me feel welcome. The front desk staff could have provided a bit more explanation at times, but it didn’t leave me with any unpleasant feelings. Above all, I liked the calm atmosphere and how close it is to the station. It was convenient for getting anywhere. I would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    It was a very nice Room.

    I was upgraded because there was an issue with the Room I had reserved. However, I checked in after 10:00 p.m. due to work, and since I had to travel the next day, I checked out shortly after 9:00 a.m. following breakfast, so I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the lovely Room at my leisure. Still, the staff’s courteous service made me want to stay again. It’s very close to Kyoto Station, yet far enough from the bustle of the station area, which was great. I went to breakfast first thing in the morning, but it was extremely crowded because a large group of international guests arrived at the same time; still, it was delicious. Next time, I’d like to take my time and enjoy it. Thank you very much.

    It was more comfortable than expected, and I’d love to stay again.

    This was my first stay. Dim lighting and heavy doors are common overseas, so they didn’t bother me much. The in-room toilet and bathroom were especially comfortable, and I appreciated the amenities such as tea and a hair dryer. That’s why the breakfast operation was disappointing. The breakfast selection was extensive and decent, but aside from a few experienced staff members, the service was so inefficient it was almost laughable. It felt like they needed to start with practicing smiles and learning how to coordinate without rushing around. There were many options and it met a basic standard, but for some reason it still felt lacking—something was missing. It wasn’t bad, but it’s hard to call it truly delicious; it was exactly “so-so.” Not an issue of presentation either—I’d love to see one more improvement so you can offer a top-class breakfast. I suspect the gap compared with the Hotel across the road comes down to breakfast. The front desk staff were pleasant, and everything except breakfast was excellent, so I would like to stay here again. I hope you will refine and provide a more comfortable breakfast experience.

    Near the station

    This was my second stay. It’s close to Kyoto Station and very convenient for sightseeing, so I chose to stay here again. All the staff were smiling and extremely kind. When I had a lot of luggage, they asked if they could help carry it to my Room, and I really appreciated that thoughtful gesture. The Room was more than spacious enough for one person, and the bathroom with a separate washing area was relaxing to use. It was my first time trying the breakfast, and I was satisfied from the morning with a wide variety of options, including stylish dishes. I was surprised there was a sake tasting in the morning! I was also happy there were several kinds of ice cream. However, the staff cleared dishes quite frequently, which made it feel a bit rushed. I will definitely stay again next time!

    As expected of a long-established Hotel!

    Although it is an older Hotel, it was so clean that you would never guess its age, and everything was well maintained and comfortable. It is also close to Kyoto Station, making it very convenient—no complaints at all!! When I visit Kyoto again, I would like to stay here again.

    Delicious breakfast

    I stayed here for the first time in 2–3 years. Although it is a historic Hotel, it is well maintained and clean, and I had a comfortable stay. Previously, perhaps due to COVID-19, breakfast left an average impression except for the delicious sake; this time I was happy to find my favorite Eikun sake, along with an omelet, New Year’s-style side dishes, and fresh vegetables and fruit. I would like to stay again, so please consider offering two-piece pajamas as a loan item among the amenities.

    Close to the station, the Room is clean, and the overall atmosphere is pleasant.

    Conveniently located near Kyoto Station, making it easy to get around. The Hotel was very clean, and the Room was also clean with a nice atmosphere. Dinner was a standard buffet with two seating times, but it was crowded and there were long lines, which was not ideal.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time using this accommodation. While most accommodations were expensive, I was looking for a hotel with a decent clientele to avoid unpleasant experiences. I chose this place on a day when the price was reasonable (the prices of nearby hotels dropped after I made the reservation due to travel restrictions to China). A friend who had dined here before spoke highly of it. Although I knew it was an old hotel, it seemed renovated, and I had a comfortable stay. Personally, I feel more at ease in classic hotels like this one. This time, as it was just a one-night stay, I chose a room without a bathtub. The showerhead brand was slightly inconvenient to use, so I'll give 4 stars for that reason. The staff's service was very polite and made my stay pleasant. Thank you very much! I'll definitely use this accommodation again!

    Excellent hospitality!

    We stayed here for a family memorial trip. Although we didn’t request it, the staff kindly arranged connecting rooms for us, which made our entire family very happy.     The second closest Hotel to Kyoto Station

    Perfectly located for sightseeing in Kyoto. Breakfast offers a wide variety of options, including three types of Japanese sake available in the morning. Finish with unlimited Kyoto matcha soft serve and ice cream! Great for souvenir shopping too, with Isetan and Porta nearby. This is my go-to accommodation in Kyoto!

    It was a memorable stay.

    I stayed here for a birthday trip with my partner. Even though it was a Friday stay, both check-in and check-out were smooth without any crowds, making our experience very comfortable. The interior had a luxurious feel, was impeccably clean, and the bathroom facilities were spotless and easy to use. The staff were all incredibly kind and attentive. When we requested a taxi, they even guided us to the pickup area, which was greatly appreciated. The location was also very convenient with excellent access from Kyoto Station. Although it was in a higher price range than the hotels I usually use, the experience exceeded its cost and became a memorable stay.

    It became a wonderful memory.

    I stayed here for a long-awaited trip with my son. The historic building had a calm and comfortable atmosphere. We also visited the bar, where the bartender was very pleasant and prepared cocktails that suited us perfectly. My son, experiencing a hotel bar counter for the first time, was deeply impressed. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the buffet, and everything was delicious. I would love to stay here again!

    Japanese Modern Room

    The Japanese-style modern room was comfortable, and the bed firmness was just right. Breakfast started at 7 AM, so we went early, but there were many groups, and we had to wait. This caused a significant delay in our planned departure time. If group reservations are known in advance, it might be better to implement a time reservation system. The bath was nice with a bathtub and chairs at an easy-to-sit height. I was slightly surprised that basic cosmetics were not provided, but having a hair iron available was appreciated. Regarding customer service, while it may have been busy, many staff interactions felt rather impersonal and businesslike.

    It was a lovely accommodation close to the station.

    I stayed here during my trip to Kyoto. The location is very convenient as it is close to the station. The Room was clean and easy to use, and the breakfast had a wide variety of options, allowing me to enjoy it fully. This is one of the Hotels I would like to stay at again if I visit Kyoto in the future.

    Excellent access from the station.

    I made a Reservation because it seemed close to Kyoto Station. It was indeed very close to the station, which was very convenient. The staff were very polite both when I left my luggage before check-in and during the check-in process. I reserved a room called "Grand Comfort Deluxe Twin." The room was on the 6th floor, but the view wasn't great. Although I expected the room to be more spacious based on the photos, it felt slightly small. Considering its proximity to the station, limited space might be unavoidable. The bed, sofa, and bathroom were clean and comfortable to use. Amenities could be received as needed from the staff members. We didn’t dine at the Hotel and went in and out several times; however, even on weekdays, there were many foreign tourists around, so we had to wait for elevators quite often. Since we traveled a lot this time, having a Hotel close to the station at a relatively reasonable price was truly appreciated. I would like to use this Hotel again if I have another opportunity!

    Hotel Change

    Due to an issue with the originally planned room, we were asked in advance if we could switch to The Thousand Kyoto. As long as there was a place to stay, it wasn't a problem, so we stayed at The Thousand Kyoto. It was more convenient than expected as it was very close to Kyoto Station. I had read reviews beforehand mentioning that amenities like toothbrushes were not provided in the room, but everything was prepared in the room. All the staff were very pleasant, and I would love to stay here again if I visit Kyoto.

    Amenities are comparable to those of a Business Hotel.

    I stayed in a suite, so I had no complaints about the spaciousness or facilities. There was a minor issue with the refrigerator door not closing completely, though. Amenities were not provided in the room and had to be taken from next to the front desk, similar to a Business Hotel, which felt a bit out of place considering the room's level. For dinner, I went to the Italian restaurant, which had a luxurious atmosphere and was very nice. The breakfast buffet also offered sufficient quality and quantity. Overall, I think it was very good.

    Kyoto Trip

    I stayed at the accommodation to guide my relatives from Tokyo around Kyoto. Although I was informed via email beforehand that it would be difficult to have rooms on the same floor due to different room types, they arranged for us to stay on the same floor, which made it very convenient to move between rooms. Both check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. The location is excellent, being close to the station and with access to buses departing from Kyoto. Additionally, the front desk informed us about a loop bus in front of the hotel, which we used the next day to reach a Keihan train station, saving time. We also received discount tickets for both trips, which was great. Compared to my previous stay about five years ago, I noticed there were more international guests this time, which surprised me a little. Perhaps because of this change, I felt that there were more Western-style options at breakfast and fewer traditional Kyoto dishes (obanzai). However, overall it is an excellent hotel where I had an amazing trip in Kyoto and left completely satisfied!

    I stayed in the Mode...

    I stayed in the Modern Suite. It was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and very convenient to use. As a train enthusiast, I loved being able to watch trains from the room, which made me really excited. The staff were kind and had wonderful smiles, making it a lovely hotel.

    We stayed three nights with Kyo Premium and also enjoyed the Expo.

    They told me there was availability and recommended the “Kyo Premium” for a small additional fee, so I stayed for three nights. The comfortable Japanese-style atmosphere was very relaxing. After coming back tired from the Expo, I found myself saying, “I’m home.” When I stayed before, the floor chair height was just perfect—I even measured it before leaving and bought one about the same height to use in my tatami room at home (lol). With the shower, I couldn’t remember whether it was different from the previous Kyo Premium or if I had simply forgotten, so I was a bit confused at first, but the open and spacious bath let me unwind and recover from my fatigue. For breakfast, I would have liked a few more Japanese vegetables, but everything was delicious. I was also happy that soft-serve ice cream is available at breakfast (I really love it). Thanks to breakfast, I made it through the Expo even in extreme heat. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

    Affordable Plan

    The second-floor front desk and restaurant have a stately atmosphere. The Room is very spacious and functional, though the lighting is slightly dim due to the building's age. The view from the window isn't great, but closing the curtains makes it unnoticeable. Depending on the Room's location, you might get a different view. It was nice that more bath towels and towels were provided than needed for the number of guests. I was surprised that amenities like toothbrushes weren't placed in the Room even at this class of Hotel, but it wasn't an issue. Having complimentary drinks in the fridge and bottled water available was appreciated. There are many mirrors in both the Room and elevator hallways, which were convenient as full-length mirrors. I only used the restaurant for breakfast; since it's a Hotel buffet, there's nothing particularly noteworthy except they served yuba rice bowls (tofu skin). There were many international tourists, and all front desk staff communicated fluently in English—truly reflective of Kyoto's hospitality!
