  I stayed in a Garden...

  I stayed in a Garden Junior Suite because it was discounted. Compared with the neighboring Thousand Hotel, the property does feel older and the lobby is rather dim, but the room had large windows, felt open and airy, and was very comfortable. At first I didn’t notice there was a roll-up privacy blind near the sink for when using the bath, and even after I found it I couldn’t quite figure out how to operate it—perhaps due to my age—so I thought it would be helpful if there were a simple instruction note nearby. Also, there was a short message from the hotel left on the table, but the card was wrinkled and gave an impression of being reused. It might actually leave a better impression not to place one at all. As for the breakfast buffet, honestly it didn’t feel worth the price. It wasn’t bad, but nothing stood out—I felt it needed something extra.

  I’ll definitely stay here again, but the staff training could be better.

  It was a cute hotel within walking distance of the station. At check-in, I was assisted by someone in training and what seemed to be their supervisor. I had mistakenly booked for two people even though I was staying alone, but for some reason I was told that changing the accommodation tax from 2 guests to 1 guest would change it from 400 yen to 1,000 yen. Even after confirming twice, they said it was correct… Since I had luggage, I decided to check in my room first, but when I went up, the room key didn’t work… I ended up dragging my suitcase back to the front desk again—one issue after another. After checking, it turned out to be a mistake, and it was resolved when I called them later. However, it made me wonder why the supervisor didn’t notice the error. Other than that, the room was cute with a calm atmosphere, and the whole hotel was stylish and lovely. It might feel small for two people, but it was more than spacious enough for one. Next time, I’d like to stay with meals included.

  The Room was a shoes...

  The Room was a shoes-off style, which was comfortable and relaxing. However, it was a bit inconvenient that I had to put on geta each time to use the toilet. The shower head had low water pressure and was difficult to use. The Room was spacious, and the bed was roomy with a comfortable firmness. I would be happy if natto were available at breakfast.

  A cozy place

  A Room with a washbasin right by the entrance

  We have stayed at Century several times because my mother has difficulty walking and prefers it for its convenient location near the station. We were very grateful that when we left our luggage, it was carried to our Room for us. This time, we were surprised that the sink was located right by the entrance. Both the Room and bathroom were very clean, but every time water drained in the bathroom, there was a gurgling sound coming from the sink drain. At breakfast, we were shown to seats further inside, but a staff member noticed that my mother cannot manage stairs or steps and kindly moved us to a seat where it was easier for her to get food. There is always a taxi available, so it’s convenient to get one right away. We were also happy with the well-stocked amenities, such as DHC cosmetic sets, Ogawa Coffee, and Tsujiri tea.

  The Room had a pleas...

  It feels very much like a Business Hotel.

  Being close to the station was a huge help. Is this a high-end Hotel? We had dinner there. The food was delicious, but there were extra charges for almost every main dish. Is that normal? We enjoyed breakfast at a relaxed pace.

  Refresh

  Although I’m a local, I stayed here to refresh. The Room had a modern Japanese style with tatami flooring, and the bathroom included a washing area, so I could enjoy a relaxing soak. The breakfast buffet was lavish and impressive. I even enjoyed sake in the morning and was very satisfied. I’d love to stay again.

  King of Breakfast

  Breakfast is now easier to access.

  There was no assigned seating, so we could sit wherever we liked, and the layout for picking up food was well designed, allowing us to take plenty without any stress. The curry, which wasn’t available before, was delicious. Even when I asked for extra omelet toppings, they kindly accommodated my request.

  Window Frame Marks

  There were many fingerprint-like marks left on the window frame, which was off-putting. I think it would be better to have them cleaned off. The all-day dining venue’s homemade ginger ale was a dry style and very enjoyable.

  I stayed with a one-night, two-meal plan.

  Last time I booked with breakfast, but this time I chose the two-meal plan. Dinner was almost private, so I could relax, and the food was delicious—I left completely full. It’s convenient to be able to enjoy everything at the Hotel without having to go out sometimes. The Room was also great, with a separate toilet and bath. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, but I’d eaten too much the day before and couldn’t eat much, which was a shame. Next time I want to come with my stomach in top shape and enjoy breakfast more. The amenities were minimal, so it would be nice to have a few more options that women would appreciate. Above all, being so close to Kyoto Station is fantastic.

  I was very much look...

  I was very much looking forward to my stay after hearing that the Room had been renovated. It was a shoes-off style Room that felt comfortable, with plenty of warmth from the wood.   A Wonderful Solo Trip

  This was my third stay. The location is extremely convenient—just a 2-minute walk from Kyoto Station. This time, I was able to stay in the newly opened Kyoto Premium Double room, which debuted this May. I loved the Kyoto-style room with a modern Japanese feel, accented with gold and purple. I could even see the Shinkansen from the window near the elevator on my floor. For breakfast, I ate at La Jou in the all-day dining area. The restaurant had a wonderful nostalgic atmosphere. It was refreshing to find Japanese sake and handmade gelato available as well. They also cooked a dashimaki tamago omelet for me on the spot. I tried three types of sake in small cups, and they were excellent. Of course, everything I ate was delicious. I’m very satisfied again and made more great memories this time too. If you have a chance to visit Kyoto, definitely give it a try—this is a Hotel I highly recommend.

  I stayed here for th...

  I stayed here for the first time because it’s close to the station and I heard the Rooms had been renovated. The Room I stayed in had a lovely Japanese-inspired design. There is a raised area where you take off your shoes, but the entryway is narrow, and there were wooden slippers (perhaps just for going to the toilet), which made it feel even tighter. Also, when taking a shower, water leaked out of the bathroom and soaked the floor—I hope this can be improved. The lobby has a nice atmosphere, and it was great that there were books available. The amenities were well stocked. Since I checked Reviews in advance, I was able to find it easily without confusing it with the entrance of the neighboring Hotel.

  Hospitality

  The Hotel, located just steps from Kyoto Station, exudes luxury, and the lobby blends modern design with a distinctly Kyoto atmosphere. I initially had a concern about my Room, and when I called, the front desk staff responded immediately and arranged a Room change. I was truly grateful. Thanks to that, I was able to relax and fully enjoy my stay at the Hotel. As expected of a top-class Hotel, they proposed the best solution from the guest’s perspective, and it was a moment that truly reflected their hospitality. Every dish at the breakfast buffet was delicious, and with such a wide selection, my friend and I were very satisfied as we talked about coming back together to try what we couldn’t eat this time. In particular, the smoothies were excellent—my friend was genuinely impressed. It was an extremely satisfying stay, and this has become one of the Hotels I will definitely return to.

  Conveniently located near the station, this is my go-to Accommodation for trips to Kyoto.

  Conveniently located near Kyoto Station, and I really like it. The building seems older, but it has been renovated and feels luxurious, which is great. This time I chose an inexpensive Plan, so the bathroom was small and not very easy to use. Next time I plan to book a larger Room. Breakfast was plentiful and the egg station was nice, but this time there seemed to be a staffing shortage with only one cook, so there was always a long line and the taste wasn’t as good. The orange juice, salad, yogurt, and fruit were delicious, which was a plus. I stayed here for two nights, but since the restaurant I wanted to visit was closed for a holiday, I extended my trip. For the third night I tried another Hotel on the opposite side of the station, but this one was better in every way. I’d like to stay here again next time.

  Excellent access from Kyoto Station

  I stayed here to enjoy shopping around Kyoto Station. Since it was a special occasion, I chose the Junior Suite, and it was a very spacious, clean Room—excellent overall. However, the view was unfortunately not great. That may be unavoidable in Kyoto. Because it was midsummer and I wanted to avoid walking above ground as much as possible, choosing this Accommodation was the right decision in that respect. That said, since it’s on the opposite side from Isetan, I had to push through heavy foot traffic every time, which was quite tiring. It was also disappointing that the lobby wasn’t really a space where you could relax, but overall I felt the quality was high.

  I’d love to stay here again—thank you.

  What stood out most during this stay was the hospitality of the staff. Their service was consistently attentive, and they would gently check on us and offer help before we even had to ask. At the same time, it never felt stiff or overly formal—their considerate care at just the right distance was truly comfortable. The day we arrived was extremely hot, and we were tired from a long journey. During check-in, while my wife was waiting on a chair in front of the front desk, a staff member brought her some cold tea. It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot after traveling in the heat. It felt as though service didn’t begin after completing check-in procedures; rather, from the moment we arrived at the Hotel, we were already being looked after as guests. We also appreciated how they accommodated our situation regarding parking and did their best to avoid adding any extra burden. Instead of simply explaining rules, they considered what could be done within them and responded thoughtfully—an approach I found very reassuring. The guest room was spacious as well, and it was easy to relax after coming back from outside. Being able to enjoy the drinks in the refrigerator freely was also a welcome service. The lobby isn’t overly large—just the right size for spending time quietly. Every so often a wind chime would softly ring “chirin,” and it felt wonderful to sit on the sofa listening to that sound. I genuinely enjoyed spending time at the Hotel itself. The location is also convenient—just a few minutes’ walk to Kyoto Station and Isetan. We could head out for sightseeing or shopping and return quickly whenever we got tired, which let us enjoy Kyoto while still taking our time to relax at the Hotel. Of course, both the Facility features and location were great—but what stayed with me most from this trip was truly the staff’s natural warmth and kindness. I believe it’s this kind of thoughtful care that makes you want to say, “I want to stay here again.” This is a Hotel I would gladly choose again when visiting Kyoto.

  It was very good.

  This was my first stay. The location was very convenient, close to the station, and having a parking lot was a big help. The Room was spacious and well equipped, but when I entered the Room I noticed a slight odor from the plumbing area. Also, after using the toilet, I could hear water trickling for a few minutes until the tank refilled; it didn’t bother me during the day, but at night it was quite noticeable because it was so quiet. I only had breakfast, but there was a wide variety of options, and the staff were attentive with well-timed refills. Everything tasted great and I was very satisfied. I usually don’t stay at the same Hotel again because I like trying different places, but this is one I would like to return to.

  Kyoto Century Hotel ...

  Kyoto Century Hotel is a historic Hotel, so I stayed with high expectations—and it turned out to be an even more wonderful stay than I had imagined. What especially stood out was when I passed a foreign staff member cleaning the hallway in the morning; they paused, smiled, and greeted me with “Good morning.” Even while busy, their courteous manner made for a very pleasant start to the day. Hospitality was evident in every staff member, and you can really feel how well their service training is established. It’s a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again when visiting Kyoto.

  We had a relaxing stay.

  Overall, I was satisfied. Thank you very much. Because it was so good, there were three points that stood out to me. I booked a Junior Suite Room during a time sale. 1) The Room was spacious and comfortable, but the Shinkansen passed frequently outside the window. The noise wasn’t unbearable, but it was disappointing for a Room of this type. 2) The step up to the toilet felt unsafe until I got used to it. 3) The fabric on the bed throw was peeling and looked like bugs, which I didn’t like. The cleaning was thorough, and otherwise it was a very comfortable Hotel. Thank you for taking care of me.

  I stayed here for the first time in 20 years.

  I stayed again after a while, and it was a very good Hotel, just as I remembered. The location is great and convenient for getting anywhere. Since I didn’t ask, they may have been available on request, but there were no facial cleanser or toner in the room, so I went to a nearby drugstore to buy some. Many other hotels provide basic skincare amenities. However, there are convenience stores and drugstores nearby, so it wasn’t a problem. The staff made a great impression as well, and it was an enjoyable trip.

  It was a comfortable stay.

  I was looking forward to staying here for the first time in 30 years, and it was just as I remembered—an excellent location, a dignified interior, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Since I had some time before check-in, I left my luggage and enjoyed some tea on my own at the Thousand next door. That evening I returned to the Hotel late and most nearby restaurants were already closed, so I asked at the front desk on the off chance and went to the bar inside the Hotel. It turned out to be a great choice. Even though it was close to closing time, they welcomed me warmly. The space was much larger than I expected and very comfortable, with an elegant bartender and pleasant staff providing wonderful service—and they even offered a guest discount—making it a truly happy night in Kyoto. The Room was simple, functional, and more than satisfactory, and I slept well. This time I happened to get a great last-minute deal at a reasonable price, which felt very lucky. If my budget allows again in the future, this is definitely a Hotel I would love to stay at again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

  Room lighting

  I’m embarrassed to say this, but I couldn’t figure out the light switch in the entrance Room. It was too dark to read anything, and even after looking for the switch I couldn’t find it. Large Western-style Hotels may commonly use a system where you insert the key card to turn on the lights, but it was my first time staying at a Hotel like that, so I would have appreciated an explanation at check-in. It would have been even better if the breakfast menu had been a bit more substantial. Also, perhaps it is designed for international guests, but the dining area felt like a private booth and the air conditioning was too strong, so it was cold. The service was fine, and it seems staff training—including for international staff—is thorough. Thank you very much.
