Family Trip
A trip with friends and family. We enjoyed the baths, the kids’ play area, and the buffet. It was great that the children never got bored and could play at the Hotel from morning to night. The access to Lake Tateshina was excellent as well, so we were able to go sightseeing and fully enjoy our stay.

It was a wonderful Onsen with stunning scenery.
The Onsen and meals were both very satisfying—an Accommodation I was truly happy with. The price was low, and I didn’t expect to be this satisfied. As someone who loves alcohol, I was especially pleased with the all-you-can-drink option, which had a great variety! The main kids’ room was also wonderful—spacious, clean, and full of things to play with. However, there were some disappointing points. We stayed in a 58 m² Japanese-Western style Room, but unlike the Reservation photos, the tatami area felt small. When I called the front desk to ask about it, they said matter-of-factly: “There are two types of 58 m² Rooms. This one is the type that’s different from the photos. The overall size is still 58 m².” Isn’t it unacceptable for it to be different from the photos? The futon was very thin and there were no sheets—maybe they assumed we would use only the beds. There was only one small air purifier in such a large Room; it had no water in it, the inside was dirty, and it kept making a loud rattling noise (so we stopped using it). A Room is one of the most important parts for relaxing. That said, because the Onsen, meals, and kids’ room were so good overall, we still enjoyed our stay.

Please improve the way the slippers are stacked.
This is the only point that concerned me. When I entered the Room and took off my shoes to change into slippers, all of the in-room/indoor slippers in the shoe cabinet were stored with the soles pressed against the footbed, which felt unpleasant and unhygienic. I thought it might have been only in my Room, but even the spare-looking slippers in the shoe cabinet at the large public bath were stored the same way. It made me wonder if this is how staff are instructed, which was disappointing. Everything else was excellent, so I would really like you to improve this point.

Onsen in the Mist
The Onsen has three tiers and is spacious, which was wonderful. If the weather had been better, it would have been even nicer to gaze up at the stars from the open-air bath where you can lie down. In the early morning, everything around was covered in mist, and soaking in the open-air bath surrounded by fog felt magical.

The room key is…
At check-in, perhaps because some VIP guests arrived behind me, the explanation was rushed and delivered very quickly. In addition, one of the two Room keys I was given appeared to belong to someone else, so I could not enter my Room. I went all the way back down from the 6th floor to the front desk to confirm, and they told me a completely different name, which made it clear that I had been given the wrong key. Despite this, there was no apology at all. Because I had a good impression during my previous stay, I took the time to travel from far away this time as well, so this was very disappointing. I have stayed at hundreds of Hotels in Japan and abroad, but even at very inexpensive Hotels or during peak seasons, I have never once been given the wrong Room key. I hope you will place greater importance on basic courtesy and accuracy in your service.

Unfortunately...
Dinner was not a buffet; we chose the most expensive kaiseki course, and it was delicious. However, the dishes came out so slowly that by the end we were already full and had to leave some food, which was disappointing. We booked a Room with an open-air bath, but there were no skincare amenities such as lotion at all, so I ended up having to buy a 4,000-yen lotion at the shop even though I didn’t really need it. There were also no disposable socks, and it made me feel that there is a reason why the price is low. For breakfast buffet, we ended up waiting more than 40 minutes at the entrance; you may want to consider a different system.

A Pleasant Hotel
Staying at Accommodations is my hobby, and I also work in a related field, so I tend to notice a lot of things. When I arrived and saw the building from the outside, I was a little disappointed, but once inside everything was very clean. Many of the staff seemed new, but their earnest efforts despite being unfamiliar with the work genuinely impressed me. Even though I can get irritated easily, I forgot all about it here. The Room had an open-air bath, it was fairly close to the parking lot, the food was delicious, and it offered great value for money! There wasn’t any mist when looking up above either—overall, for a traditional Onsen Ryokan, it was wonderful and I had a truly pleasant time. I will definitely come again soon.

Our standout features are our dining and Onsen.
The highlights of our property are, above all, the dining and the Onsen. Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style—and truly delicious. We use a good selection of local ingredients, so you may find yourself eating more than twice your usual amount. With an open-air bath by the mountain stream to enjoy as well, the Onsen experience makes it feel like exceptional value for the price.

It was great.
We stayed here while sightseeing in Matsumoto and Tateshina. In the open-air bath, we were able to relax and soak while listening to the river. The dinner buffet was delicious, and we ate until we were completely full. My wife was very satisfied as well.

The facility is too far away.
The open-air bath is too far away, so it makes me not want to go a second time. There are too few staff, so they cannot assist promptly. The Room was old, and the balcony and air conditioner were dirty.

The buffet and the Onsen are excellent.
Our summer vacation plans came together at the last minute, and we made a Reservation at this Hotel as a family including our high school-aged child. It was even better than we expected—in the best way. First of all, hearing the sound of the mountain stream was incredibly soothing. We stayed in a Room on the Sky Comfort Floor, which has been renovated, and it was very comfortable. We had the buffet for both dinner and breakfast, and there was an amazing variety of dishes featuring plenty of local Nagano ingredients—such as buckwheat groat rice porridge and perilla chiffon cake. The stone-oven pizza was also fun, with toppings like Shinshu apples. There were many kinds of vegetables—fresh salads and simmered dishes—and the meat carved right in front of us was tender as well. It’s easy to overeat. There were also two large public baths and two open-air baths. We especially liked how the open-air baths (Ichinoyu, Ninoyu, Sannoyu) are arranged in tiers with different temperatures (the closer to the stream, the cooler), which made it less likely to feel overheated. My family is already saying they want to stay for several more nights next year. Thank you very much.

The meal was delicious.
Thank you to the staff for your hard work during this busy period. However, I would like to share a few concerns from this stay. At check-in, my guest card could not be found, and I was asked, “Did you have a Reservation today?” After confirming on the computer that my Reservation existed, several staff members searched around and eventually brought the guest card from behind the front desk. It is standard practice to confirm arriving guests before check-in begins, and I feel it is discourteous to ask a guest whether they made a Reservation before first checking your records. The large public bath had lockers with keys, which was reassuring from a security standpoint. What concerned me was that the woven floor mats were badly worn. Appearance is important as well. At dinner, when I ordered a drink from the non-alcohol menu, I was told, “This drink contains alcohol.” If it contains alcohol, shouldn’t it be removed from the non-alcohol menu? At checkout, I was charged for items other than the drink ordered at dinner. When I asked for confirmation, I was told there were receipts. After checking, it turned out another guest’s receipt had been included as well. This should not happen if room numbers and signatures are properly verified. Seeing overseas staff providing polite service made this experience especially disappointing.

Riverside Accommodation with Scenic Onsen Views
Stayed in a suite. The Room was spacious and felt very open. There were hardly any bugs. The open-air bath had amazing views and was very clean. It alternates between morning and evening, so we used both. The shower in the large public bath often didn’t work properly. The parking lot at the back is up a slope and a bit far. The bath in the Room wasn’t very clean.

I understood that it...
I understood that it is an old building, but I did not feel the level of satisfaction that matches the Accommodation Fee. I had been looking forward to the open-air bath since making my Reservation, and it was especially recommended at reception, so I used it with high expectations. However, on all three occasions—early evening, late at night, and in the morning—it did not appear to be properly cleaned, which was very disappointing. In addition, what seemed to be a guest lounge Room not only had outdated facilities but also felt only partially renovated and lacked a sense of cleanliness. Overall, because my expectations were high, this trip was extremely disappointing. There may be circumstances such as staff shortages, but I would like you to first review your cleaning standards and Facility maintenance.

Ideal for travel with babies and kids
As a “welcome baby” Accommodation, we were able to stay very comfortably. Both the large public bath and the private bath had baby tubs and bath chairs available, making it as easy to use as bathing at home. We also really appreciated the baby food available at the buffet. That said, there were only about two types of packaged baby food for each age range, so I wished there had been a bit more variety. Still, our baby ate well, so we were satisfied. As for the Room, it was a Japanese-style room that was comfortable and well-suited for a baby. However, for an age where they move around a lot, items like shoji screens, the landline phone, and the safe were at eye level and looked tempting to touch, which made us a little concerned. If I could be picky, it would have been perfect if there were loaner baby playpens. (Even as it is now, we had a very comfortable stay!) There are several sightseeing spots nearby as well, so we enjoyed our days out—overall it was a great Accommodation for a family trip.

No repeat stays.
The buffet seems to be one of the Hotel’s selling points, but the staff capacity is completely overwhelmed by the number of guests entering the restaurant. Dinner was assigned a time slot and we were seated smoothly, but breakfast has no time slots, so if it overlaps with peak crowds you may have to wait a long time and waste valuable time. Also, the buffet layout feels too narrow for the number of people, and with serving carts as well you have to be extra careful. It was disappointing because I had high expectations. I probably won’t return.

Tradition and Revolution
We originally visited for the kids’ park, but since our family has recently gotten into puzzle-solving, we made a Reservation with the mystery-solving Plan. The kids’ park was thrilling, and there was also an event called “Super Festival Stalls,” which they really enjoyed—so they had fun to the very end on both days before and after our stay. The balance scooter was especially a huge hit. The buffet selection was excellent. It did get crowded at times with families due to the season, but perhaps we went at a good time—the baths were quiet, and I was able to relax and enjoy them with my daughter. It seems you can make a Reservation for the fishing park from 2:00 PM, but it fills up quickly unless you book early that day. We managed to get in at the last minute and had our catch for dinner as salt-grilled fish and fried fish. It was delicious. We thought the mystery-solving would be easy, but it turned out to be very satisfying even for beginners like us. Overall, we were extremely satisfied! Thank you to all the staff running “Super Festival Stalls.”

The buffet is delicious.
Dinner buffet is split into two 90-minute sessions. I chose the first one starting at 6:00 PM. The selection was decent, and items were replenished quickly when they ran out. The quality was good, with plenty of vegetables and many healthy options. Everything was delicious—no disappointments. I just wish the coffee had been a bit better, but overall I was satisfied. Breakfast is first-come, first-served via a ticket machine starting from 7:00 AM; when I arrived 5 minutes early, I was already 30th in line. I recommend going early for breakfast, as there may be a wait before 7:30 AM. The Onsen facilities were nice, with both a standard Onsen and a “beauty bath” (pH 7.5) available in the open-air bath only. Since it was the season for bugs, those who are not comfortable with insects should be aware. I had no issues, but my husband said he got bitten by something both at night and in the morning. Still, the sense of openness is outstanding. You need to bring towels from your Room, but the bathing area also provides shower caps and hair ties. It would have been nice to have hair treatment available before using the hair dryer. There is no toner or lotion in the Room; they are provided in the large public bath. No samue provided—yukata only (women can choose from colored yukata). The beds are Simmons. The pillow was so good that I’m considering buying one; when I asked, it seems to be a France Bed low-rebound pillow type. I looked it up and found there are several types, but I don’t know which exact product this Hotel uses. If you could tell me the product name, I would appreciate it. Overall, both the meals and baths were very satisfying.

The open-air hot spring bath and the Shinshu beef kaiseki meal are exceptional.
I found this site and, as a birthday gift for my wife, I splurged more than on our usual trips and made a Reservation for the “Shinshu Beef Tasting Kaiseki” on the Sky Comfort Floor. When we checked in, thanks to the Hotel’s consideration, we were upgraded to a Luxury Suite at no extra charge. It was truly eye-opening. That alone would have been more than enough, but dinner—the “Shinshu Beef Tasting Kaiseki”—was also outstanding: sweet and tender beef, a rich aroma, and exceptional hospitality. This has definitely become one of the Hotels we want to return to. Thank you very much. My wife was delighted as well. The open-air bath was also wonderful—just like in the photos on the site—and incredibly relaxing.

Packed with features the whole family can enjoy across three generations.
We stayed as three generations, including our grandchildren in 3rd and 5th grade. With the Room, Onsen, meals, karaoke, table tennis, and plenty of entertainment options, we all had a great time together. It made perfect sense why this place is so popular with families. There were six of us in total. Although there are various guest room types, everyone wanted beds, so we chose two Western-style Rooms on the Sky Comfort Floor. Because the Rooms are close to a square shape, the first Room still felt quite spacious even with four beds. The second Room (with two beds) had a roomy seating area and floor-to-ceiling windows that made it bright and comfortable. They also arranged for our Rooms to be next to each other, which was very convenient for going back and forth. At the buffet there were carts for carrying trays, which the kids found very handy. There was a wide variety of dishes, including lots of staple options—so many that it was hard to choose depending on how hungry we were. We added the all-you-can-drink option as well; with all the trips back and forth to pick different drinks, 90 minutes felt a bit short. For breakfast we arrived around 7:30 a.m., checked in at the entrance touch panel, and waited about 20 minutes; however, we could see our progress on an information board on the wall. Once seated, breakfast actually felt more relaxed than dinner. The Onsen alternates between men and women by day (today vs. tomorrow), so we pushed ourselves to try all four baths—and everyone especially loved both the riverside open-air bath at Takiiwa-no-Yu (right next to the stream) and the garden large bath at Iwa-no-Yu with scenery like something out of a Ghibli film. While it’s understandable that towels need to be brought from the guest Room, since the provided plastic bag is rather small, it would be helpful if you could consider offering a larger gusseted spa bag so guests can easily fit clothes for changing along with pouches and other items inside. At both the restaurant and departure time you kindly agreed to take photos for us without hesitation, which became wonderful memories. We would love to visit again if we have another chance—thank you very much for your hospitality.

The meals and the open-air bath were excellent.
We stayed for one night during Golden Week with our child. Since it was raining, the kids’ park was a big help. Due to the limit on the number of guests, we had to line up a few times, but we were able to get in quickly. The view from the Room wasn’t great—mostly rooftops and the parking lot—but the Room itself felt clean and spacious, and we had no complaints. The meals were excellent, with everything from standard options to creative dishes. There were two baths; we especially liked the riverside open-air bath. The open-air bath was clean, we could hear the sound of the river, and in the morning we even saw a mother deer and her fawn on the opposite bank. This Accommodation stood out for its great meals and open-air bath.

A Trip to Reunite with Your Best Friend
I have stayed here several times and love it because the Room is spacious and comes with an open-air bath. This time, I invited friends for a girls’ trip, recommending it as a Hotel I truly like. My friend who came from out of town was happy, saying the bath was great and the food was delicious, but for me it was an unpleasant start. Even though I called in advance about the bed arrangement in the Room, it was not set up as requested. Regarding parking: this part is on me because I had not informed you beforehand that I have a disability, but even after showing my disability certificate to staff when parking, the front desk called and asked suspiciously, “Is there anyone in your party who has difficulty walking?” Dinner started at 7:00 p.m., which was later than usual for us, but around 8:00 p.m. we were spoken to and I felt we couldn’t relax. Also, the hair dryer in the Room wasn’t working properly and couldn’t be used—I regretted not bringing my own. I have chosen this Room every time because I thought it was wonderful, but several issues that I hadn’t experienced before happened all at once this time, making it feel like a disappointing stay.

It was disappointing.
I arrived a little after 6:00 p.m., but no one greeted me at the entrance, and I had to carry my luggage up a long staircase to the front desk by myself. At check-in, the male staff member explained the facilities so quickly that I could hardly understand him, and his attitude felt dismissive throughout, with no sense of sincerity. Even when I asked questions, his responses made it seem like it was my fault for not listening properly—this was not an appropriate way to welcome guests. I had also requested a larger yukata in advance, but it did not appear to have been prepared in my Room; he repeatedly told me to take one myself from a shelf on the first floor. It was an extremely unpleasant start to my stay.

This was my first time staying here. At the front desk, I was assisted by a trainee (maybe?). The language and manner were so poor that I was disappointed. My mood dropped right from check-in. Room: The cleaning felt careless. Also, the outerwear provided smelled far too strong (like it hadn’t been washed...). Meals: The food was tasty, but the plates and spoons were dirty, so it would be better to choose clean ones. Open-air bath: This felt great. If I had to mention one thing, the hair dryer handle was slippery (like a train hand strap). Overall, I won’t be coming back for a second stay.

A Long-Awaited Visit to Taki-no-Yu
This was our third stay at this Accommodation. The first time, the bath and meals were excellent. On our second stay, the food was quite disappointing. After some time away, we visited again with our family to relax and enjoy the bath. This time, the meals were much better than before, and the bath was wonderful as well. However, one disappointing thing was that when we arrived and entered the Room, a clipped toenail stuck into the sole of my foot. I’m sure it’s being cleaned, but… The flowers in the lobby were very beautiful.

My elementary school...
My elementary school–aged son asked to go on a trip as his birthday present, and since it was also a milestone as he turned 10, we stayed for two nights this time. We had last visited around the time of the COVID travel support program, so it seems the kids didn’t remember much, but my son said both the baths and the meals were amazing. By the second night he was so moved that he even cried—it became a truly memorable trip for him. Thanks to all the Hotel staff, we made wonderful memories. Thank you very much. That said, there was one small point about the Facility that I’d like to mention. In the large public bath and open-air bath—especially on the large public bath side—many showerheads were damaged, and there were several washing stations where it was difficult to rinse properly. Fortunately it wasn’t crowded, so we were able to move 3–4 times and still use them, but some guests may have found them inconvenient.

Thank you for taking care of us on our first three-generation trip in a long time. As soon as we arrived, my son and grandchildren—who love fishing—made a Reservation for the fishing pond and were thrilled to catch fish one after another. You also cooked two of the fish we caught and served them at dinner, which our whole family enjoyed. The large public bath was wonderful as well, but since no towels were provided there, we had to bring towels in addition to the children’s change of clothes, which made our luggage heavier than expected. Overall, it was a fun and memorable stay. Thank you very much.
