Enjoy dishes made with local ingredients such as Hitachi Beef and Mirai Pork. Conveniently located near the interchange, making travel by car easy.

This Accommodation is known for meals made with local ingredients, a large public bath where you can unwind and relieve fatigue, and easy access by car. For dinner, we serve dishes featuring Hitachi beef and Mirai pork sourced from a local meat specialist in Tsukuba. We focus on preparing as much as possible by hand, and our dinners served warm are highly rated in Reviews. Breakfast is a Japanese set meal centered on Koshihikari rice from Yatabe, incorporating local ingredients. Inside the property, there are separate large public baths for men and women called “Oyudokoro Umezakura,” where you can relax in an artificial Onsen made with radium ion mineral stones. Located near interchanges on the Joban Expressway and Ken-O Expressway, the property also offers free parking, making it a convenient base for business trips or sightseeing by car.

  • I stayed here on a business trip. It’s a route I usually take, but I hadn’t noticed this place before. The Onsen is in an annex, and guests can reach it from the main building via a connecting corridor. They also seem to offer day-use bathing, with a separate entrance for the general public. There are three baths at different temperatures and a cooling/rest area, so I could relax and take my time.I’d like to stay here again.

  • With a price of about 10,000 yen for one night with two meals, I didn't expect much aside from the onsen, but the food was outstanding. Dinner featured a kaiseki meal using local ingredients, and breakfast was a quintessential Japanese-style meal with generous portions that left me very satisfied. The resident cat Chun-Chun seemed to be on an extended journey, while the second-generation kittens were in their cage, nervously trying to overcome their shyness. It was an accommodation where time flowed slowly, allowing for complete relaxation.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Dinner: Standard Sukiyaki

Dinner: Local Ingredients and Homemade Warmth

Dinner at Ryokan Umeya is especially popular for dishes featuring Hitachi beef and Mirai pork sourced from the local Tsukuba meat specialist Murashita Shoji. Hitachi beef is known for its fine texture and refined flavor, best enjoyed in sukiyaki or shabu-shabu. Mirai pork has a naturally sweet fat and a tender, juicy taste. Reviews often mention comments such as “the meat was delicious” and “I stayed because I was looking forward to dinner.” Rather than relying on pre-made items, the kitchen focuses on preparing as much as possible by hand and serving dishes warm. Instead of emphasizing extravagance, they carefully cook quality local ingredients to provide a dinner that guests can enjoy with peace of mind. Chosen as a comforting meal at the end of a workday or a day of travel, dinner at Ryokan Umeya is one of its highlights.

Dinner: Assorted Sashimi Boat Platter (à la carte)

Dinner: The Unsung Heroes That Elevate Your Meal

Dinner at Ryokan Umeya is appealing not only for the main dishes, but also for the carefully chosen supporting items. For the tempura course in our kaiseki, we serve chicken tempura made with locally raised Takumibi Chicken instead of the more common shrimp tempura. Lightly enjoyed with tentsuyu dipping sauce, it is popular with guests of all ages. It is also included in multiple kaiseki Plans, including our Funamori Kaiseki Plan, and we often hear comments such as “The chicken tempura was delicious.” For a small side dish, we offer our “Neba-Neba Kobachi,” combining Yatabe-grown natural yam (jinenjo), Ibaraki-produced coarsely ground natto (hikiwari natto), and mekabu seaweed. It’s an appetite-boosting dish that’s also gentle on the body. Our rice is Yatabe-grown Koshihikari, and our miso soup is made with miso from Numaya Honten in Tsukuba. This attention to each individual item—not just the main course—enhances overall satisfaction with dinner.
