Kinosaki Onsen Tsuchiya Ryokan

Have you heard of “Katsu-gani” (live crab)? Kinosaki Onsen is a true crab destination, blessed with three nearby landing ports. From our Ryokan, Tsuiyama Port is about 4 km away, and Shibayama Port and Kasumi Port are also just 20–25 km away—an exceptional location. Unlike crab that is frozen after landing and then distributed, only crab purchased alive is called “Katsu-gani” (live crab). In addition, the “tag” issued by each fishing port is proof of a high-quality brand. Not only does proximity to the port matter—because maintaining freshness and handling live crab requires great care and comes at a higher cost, many Ryokan do not offer it. However, we proudly serve only live crab. Please enjoy the natural sweetness and springy texture of truly fresh crab—something you can’t experience with frozen or boiled crab—here at our Accommodation! ━Dinner━ Live crab: a generous one whole crab per person (800 g) Enjoy refined craftsmanship designed to delight both your eyes and your palate. *The landing port may vary depending on the fishing season. Appetizer Soup Sashimi: Matsuba Crab + 4 other varieties Grilled dish: Grilled Matsuba Crab / Shell miso grilled Side dish: Matsuba Crab tempura Palate cleanser Hot pot: Matsuba Crab shabu-shabu Rice dish: Crab zosui (rice porridge) Dessert *Seiko-gani shell presentation is available for a limited time until the end of December. ■ Dinner Time Dinner starts at 18:00 for all guests (seating available until around 20:00).
