  • I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay.

    I used public transportation and the Shuttle Service. When I realized our cottage was the farthest from the Hotel where check-in takes place, I was worried, but they kindly provided a Shuttle Service to the cottage. I truly appreciated it.The person who greeted us at the entrance during check-in had a wonderful smile.The cottage didn’t have air conditioning in the bedroom, so we laid futons in the tatami room and slept there, and it was very comfortable.All of the staff were excellent, and we had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.If it could be improved so that calls to the front desk don’t go unanswered for such a long time, it would have been even more comfortable. (I couldn’t get through for about an hour…)I understand it may be difficult since Reservations can be made through various sites, but for guests using public transportation and the Shuttle Service, it would be helpful to assign a cottage as close as possible. If that isn’t possible, it would be great if guests could arrange a Shuttle Service Reservation to their cottage in advance.Truly, all of your staff were courteous and made our stay wonderful. Thank you!

  • Three-generation stay in a Japanese-Western style room

    This was our first stay here.\nWe stayed with my parents in their 70s and my two daughters.\nIt was about a 20-minute drive from the Azumino Interchange into the mountains,\nand we arrived quickly.\nSurrounded by mountains, the air was wonderfully clear.\n\nWe stayed in a Japanese-Western style room for five people.\nThe room was spacious and comfortable even for three generations staying together.\nIt had a kitchen with a refrigerator and sink,\nwhich made it easy to quickly wash cups after having tea—very convenient.\n\nFor meals, we chose the restaurant buffet.\nEveryone could pick as much as they wanted of what they liked, and we were very satisfied.\nEveryone was happy, saying both the dishes and desserts were delicious.\n\nThe play area\nwas a space where my 20-year-old and 12-year-old daughters could enjoy themselves together.\n\nIt’s a Hotel where each generation can have fun or relax at their own pace, so next time we’re planning a Multiple Night Stay to do some sightseeing as well.\nThank you for such a comfortable time.

Azumino Highland Resort sits halfway up the slope with views of Mt. Jonen, soothing guests with Azumino’s nature in every season. It is also an exceptional base for smooth access not only to Azumino, but also to Kamikochi, Utsukushigahara, and the Tateyama–Kurobe area. From the property you can enjoy superb viewpoints overlooking the Azumino Plain, and take a stroll to the Karasugawa Gorge Green Park in Nagano Prefecture.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • [Important] From Sat, Aug 8: Notice Regarding Onsen Water Supply and the Large Public Bath Due to Heavy Rainfall

    Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our Hotel.
    Due to the impact of heavy rain, part of the Nakabusa Line has collapsed, and the supply of Onsen water from the source has been suspended.
    Restoration is expected to take some time.

    We sincerely apologize to all guests who chose our Accommodation and came looking forward to enjoying the Onsen.

    At present, the Onsen supply has completely stopped, and we are operating the large public bath using heated water.
    The cottage buildings are also using heated water.
    We deeply apologize for the significant inconvenience this may cause.

    There is no particular impact on access or transportation to the Hotel and cottages due to the heavy rain.
    Please travel safely on your day of arrival.


    1. Hot Spring Tax
    As a special measure due to restrictions on Onsen supply, we will waive the Hot Spring Tax until restoration is complete.

    2. For guests staying in cottages
    Until restoration is complete, use of the large public bath will be free of charge.
    *There is no Shuttle Service to the large public bath. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience,
    but kindly ask that you make your own way there.

    We regret that you may not be able to fully enjoy the Onsen you were looking forward to.

    We greatly appreciate your understanding despite these circumstances.
    We apologize again for any inconvenience caused and kindly ask for your cooperation.

    We will continue working toward restoring service as quickly as possible.
