A 13-room culinary Accommodation in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, housed in a traditional building that has stood for about 110 years.
"Yoruya" is a culinary accommodation with 13 rooms, located in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, aiming to provide guests with an experience that reflects the essence of Kurashiki through dining and accommodation. The 110-year-old traditional building, originally constructed during the Meiji era as an annex for a kimono shop, has been renovated and expanded to include 13 guest rooms, a U-shaped dining area with 16 seats, and a wine bar open to non-staying guests. At "Yoruya," we embrace the changing seasons not just by the calendar's four divisions but by incorporating ingredients and cooking methods inspired by Japan's twenty-four solar terms and seventy-two micro-seasons, offering a culinary experience that expresses Kurashiki's local culture.
The Facility and Room were stylish, impeccably clean, and incredibly relaxing. The tea and snacks prepared at check-in were also chic and instantly lifted my mood. All the in-room amenities, as well as the sweets, coffee, and other refreshments provided, felt carefully selected.Dinner was far better than I had imagined—delicious, of course, and beautifully presented for the eyes as well.I requested a mixed pairing of sake and wine, which turned out to be exactly right; even though my appetite had been down from summer fatigue, both the drinks and the food went down easily. I also heard that even the seasonings are handmade, and my overall satisfaction was higher than at an auberge—maybe it is an auberge? The garden view was lovely too; with wonderful food and drinks plus attentive service, it became an unforgettable night. All of the staff were courteous yet friendly—I’d love to see them again.I’d like to visit again in a different season.
こひつじ2 8/9/2026This time, we were upgraded from a Junior Suite to a Suite. From the Room entrance there is a garden, and the entryway is spacious with stylish furnishings. The Room has tatami mats, and after walking around the Bikan Historical Quarter all day, it was great to be able to stretch out and lie down—an open, Ryokan-like comfort that we really enjoyed. The guest Room was so wonderful that “wonderful” is the only word that comes to mind.Maybe because it was extremely hot outside, there were no insects in the open-air bath, which made it very comfortable. There was just one drawback: breakfast was very delicious, but it’s only served during an early time slot… Sightseeing in the Bikan Historical Quarter involves a lot of walking, so we wanted even one more hour of sleep. Still, we felt that any lingering discomfort was more than made up for by how lovely the Room was and how pleasant the staff were. It’s an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again.Next time we’ll choose a stay with dinner included.

Introduction of the Accommodation

A culinary accommodation expressing the regional characteristics of Kurashiki through dining experiences.
At Noruya, we aim to express the unique culture of Kurashiki—a place that has thrived as a crossroads for people and goods traveling between sea and land—through culinary experiences. We use a variety of locally sourced ingredients, from seafood harvested in the Seto Inland Sea to mountain produce and other treasures grown around Kurashiki. To bring out the full flavors of these seasonal ingredients, we align our cooking methods with the subtle changes in nature, not just by following the four traditional seasons but also by observing the 24 solar terms and 72 micro-seasons. Enjoy dishes that can only be experienced here.

Kurashiki's journey began approximately 400 years ago with land reclamation.
Kurashiki is a city that flourished as a hub for people and goods after its shallow seas were transformed into land through reclamation during the Edo period, becoming a "Tenryo" or shogunate-controlled territory. In the Meiji era, the spinning industry brought economic prosperity to the city, which in turn fostered cultural development. This led to the establishment of Japan's first Western art museum, the Ohara Museum of Art, and Japan's second folk craft museum, Kurashiki Folkcraft Museum. The Bikan Historical Quarter preserves this rich history and transformation. Kurashiki is a rare place where old meets new and industry blends with craftsmanship in perfect harmony.

A harmonious blend of a renovated traditional building, approximately 110 years old, and new construction.
In the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, buildings from the Edo, Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods harmonize beautifully. Similarly, within the Facility of Yoruyoruya, you can find a blend of a 110-year-old renovated structure alongside newly built brick and plaster buildings. Enjoy this rare fusion of contrasting materials that reflects the unique charm of Kurashiki's streetscape.

Five different room types with a total of 13 rooms
We offer 13 rooms across 5 room types, ranging from 30 sqm to 76 sqm. You can experience the history of the building through features like exposed beams and pillars in our Standard, Suite, and Junior Suite rooms. Additionally, we have newly constructed Brick and Plaster buildings with maisonette-style layouts featuring high ceilings that let in pleasant natural light. Each room offers a unique view and lighting ambiance, allowing you to enjoy different scenery.

Wine bar "Bar YORUYA" offers a selection of wines made in Okayama as well as Japanese sake.
"Bar YORUYA" is a casual wine bar located at the entrance of Accommodation Yoruya, open to both accommodation guests and non-guests. Here, we offer a wide selection of wines, including those from Okayama Prefecture, which has recently gained attention as a wine-producing region, as well as international wines ranging from classic to natural varieties. Additionally, since Okayama is also known for its sake production, we provide locally brewed sake for your enjoyment. Please indulge in our carefully selected wines and sake before or after dinner.

Experience a special moment that feels like being invited into a private residence.
