A charming boutique Hotel where Eastern and Western influences blend in a historic town

DHAWA, launched in 2015 as a sister brand of the luxury Hotel Banyan Tree that captivates celebrities around the world, has made its debut in Japan. We offer a comfortable space designed to bring our brand concept—“travel your own way”—to life. At the foot of Sanjo Ohashi Bridge, once Kyoto’s gateway for Western culture from the Meiji to Taisho eras, Dhawa Yura Kyoto blends Japanese and Western styles, retro charm and modern sensibility. Its refined design evokes Taisho-era romance and invites you on a journey through Kyoto’s timeless history. Located in central Kyoto’s Sanjo area with excellent access—within walking distance of shopping, Gion’s traditional entertainment districts, temples and shrines, and museums—we promise a truly memorable stay. On B1F, enjoy an anniversary-worthy grilled dinner at “GRILL 54TH” in an enchanting setting overlooking a bamboo courtyard garden.

  • The location was very convenient, and getting around by train or bus was truly easy. The staff were all very pleasant, and the Room was comfortable and easy to use—excellent overall. The complimentary voucher usable at the bar was perfect for a pre-dinner drink, and I was able to enjoy everything, making it a very fulfilling trip. I would love to stay again.

  • This stay was booked using a Kyoto City accommodation tax program benefit. As a Diamond member, early check-in and late check-out were included, but late check-out required calling from the Room in advance to request it, which felt inconvenient, so I chose the standard check-out time (12:00 p.m.). More than 90% of the guests were international tourists. The breakfast buffet seemed to offer a wide variety of options.

Restaurant

A grill restaurant inspired by the concept “Feel so Grill!” The theme is three “D”s: “Delightful,” “Dynamic,” and “Delectable.” In a stylish open kitchen, the chefs prepare grilled dishes that bring out the full flavor of each ingredient, using rare Japanese wagyu, seafood, carefully selected fresh ingredients from The whole country, and local Kyoto specialties. From an energizing breakfast to start your day to lunch and dinner, you can enjoy set courses or à la carte options. A wide selection of wines is also available to complement your meal.
