  • An Elegant One-Night, Two-Day Stay

    The staff’s hospitality, attentive care down to the smallest details, delicious meals, and well-maintained Facility all made this an outstanding Ryokan with nothing to fault. The Onsen was wonderfully smooth, free-flowing from the source, and because the temperature is relatively low, you can enjoy bathing many times. We had a truly elegant stay. Highly recommended. Thank you very much to all the staff—we would love to visit again.

    This Accommodation is flawless in every respect—location, dining, Facility, and staff hospitality. We took the free Shuttle Service from Sapporo Station. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff, which immediately heightened our excitement. As soon as we stepped inside, everything felt perfectly curated: a lobby with a fireplace (lit at night), a library displaying books with covers that made you want to pick them up, and beyond that, a pond visible through glass with trees just beginning to turn color. Above all, the hospitality of the staff tied everything together, creating an exceptionally comfortable atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were among the best meals we’ve had at any Accommodation so far. We were told that this Onsen is gentle enough that you can soak repeatedly without feeling unwell; however, it was disappointing that the windows cannot be opened, so I overheated quickly. I understand it is enclosed in glass to keep insects out, but I would have loved to soak while enjoying a pleasant breeze. We also returned by the free Shuttle Service, and the farewell greeting from the lead staff member was excellent as well. It was a wonderful Accommodation that added something special to our final day of travel.

A tranquil garden has newly emerged, preserving the carefully nurtured trees and plants—Todo firs, Japanese maples, and other maples—welcoming you at the entrance. Surrounding it all, an ancient forest becomes one with the landscape. With each visit through the seasons, it weaves a beautiful story of nature’s changing beauty. Kasho Gyoen opened in 1989 as a traditional Japanese-style Ryokan and has long been cherished by our guests. Inheriting the founding spirit of hospitality and craftsmanship, we renewed under the same name in 2018, evolving into an Accommodation that welcomes you with a new look and refined service. In summer 2022, we expanded the restaurant and lobby toward the pond to create an even more spacious setting. Today, as an adults-only hideaway Accommodation, we offer quiet moments of deep relaxation.

Savor Hokkaido’s four seasons through a memorable dish made with the finest ingredients of each time of year. Dinner is served as an Okujozankei Italian course meal.     Introduction of the Accommodation Tax from April 2026

    Starting in April 2026, an Accommodation Tax will be introduced in Hokkaido and Sapporo City.
    Accordingly, guests will be required to pay the Accommodation Tax separately as outlined below. We kindly ask for your understanding.

    The tax is charged per person per night based on the Accommodation Fee as follows:
    - If the Accommodation Fee is less than JPY 20,000: JPY 300 (Hokkaido JPY 100 + Sapporo City JPY 200)
    - If the Accommodation Fee is JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 400 (Hokkaido JPY 200 + Sapporo City JPY 200)
    - If the Accommodation Fee is JPY 50,000 or more: JPY 1,000 (Hokkaido JPY 500 + Sapporo City JPY 500)
