Experience the passage of time with all your senses at the oldest accommodation in Arima Onsen, where the beauty of shadows lingers.
The oldest Accommodation in Arima Onsen. Its name preserves the history of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu’s stay, and its location bears traces of Hideyoshi’s fondness for Arima. Inside, once frequented by Junichiro Tanizaki, you’ll find the subtle beauty of light and shadow he admired, along with a curious atmosphere that evokes Kobe’s distinctive international flair.
Thank you very much for having me stay at your Accommodation for two nights and three days from Saturday, July 25 to Monday, July 27. This was my first solo summer trip staying at an Onsen Ryokan, and I was truly happy with how spacious the Room was. I also really appreciated the complimentary services such as delicious sweets and bottled water. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, including shabu-shabu made with Kobe beef, a specialty of Hyogo Prefecture, as well as fish dishes such as salmon. This time I used the private Onsen at night by myself for the first time. In the past, I have visited Onsens with my family in places like Yatsugatake (spanning Nagano and Yamanashi) and Aizu in Fukushima. Being able to enjoy a private Onsen alone this time was very relaxing, and it was wonderful to soak slowly without worrying about anyone else around.Lastly, I had a great time on this summer trip during my two-night stay from July 25 to July 27. I will be busy with work again, but after saving up more of my salary, I would love to come back.Once again, thank you very much for taking care of me during those three days starting July 25.
小口颯斗 7/28/2026I stayed with my siblings. The breakfast was so delicious during our previous stay that this time we chose a Plan with both breakfast and dinner. The curry at dinner was excellent, and refills were allowed. At breakfast, rice refills were also available, and they brought us a large pot of rice, so we left completely full. The bath is limited to the gold spring only, but it was a wonderful Onsen. Cleansing oil, face wash, toner, and emulsion were provided as well, which was very helpful. All the Ryokan staff were outstanding in their service. I would definitely like to stay here again when visiting Arima Onsen.

Introduction of the Accommodation

We serve rustic “Sanga Ryori” mountain cuisine, rooted in the Kamakura period and dating back to the founding days of Goshobo.

The Onsen at Tosen Goshobo uses the Uwanari and Gokuraku hot spring sources of Arima Onsen, the same as Hotel Hana-Koyado and Arima Sanso Gosho Bessho.
Group Facility List
Hotel Hana-Koyado
Hotel Hanakoyado, the smallest Onsen-inspired Hotel in Kobe, is an Accommodation that combines the charm of a traditional Onsen Ryokan with the practicality of a Hotel. Soak in Arima Onsen, said to be Japan’s oldest renowned hot spring, and enjoy a blissful moment of deep relaxation for both body and mind at your leisure.
Arima Sanso Goshobessho
Arima Onsen is Japan’s oldest Onsen town and is also counted among Japan’s three most famous hot springs. During the Meiji era, when Japan opened to the world and a foreign settlement was established in Kobe, many overseas visitors came to Arima Onsen. They visited Kiyomizu-dera, a renowned spot for autumn leaves, which later welcomed guests as the Kiyomizu Hotel, an exclusive Hotel for foreigners. Within the lush, green grounds of “Arimasansou Goshobessho,” the sacred atmosphere of that time still remains unchanged today.
