  • The meals were absolutely delicious.

    All of the staff were very friendly and provided attentive hospitality. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious, making our trip truly wonderful.

  • In-room dining service is the best.

    First, the Shuttle Service by car was courteous, and they even took us to an additional starting point for the river rafting. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a separate Room. One attendant looked after us throughout, which we really appreciated. Dinner was a full-course Japanese meal; the salt-grilled ayu was especially delicious and memorable. The Room had both Japanese- and Western-style spaces, so we could relax on the tatami and also sleep comfortably in the bed. The view overlooking the Kinugawa River from the balcony was spectacular. The bath facilities—with large and small tubs, an open-air bath, and a sauna—were also very relaxing.One disappointment was that the balcony did not seem to be thoroughly cleaned.

"To provide you with a comfortable and relaxing time," we have prepared Rooms with a spacious area of over 74 square meters. The Japanese-style Rooms can accommodate up to 6 guests, and the Japanese-Western style Rooms can accommodate up to 5 guests, allowing you to relax comfortably even during group stays. From every Room, you can enjoy the view of the Kinugawa River flowing below, as well as the seasonal beauty of the mountains, including fresh greenery, lush leaves, autumn foliage, and white snow. The furnishings in the Rooms are made with Wajima lacquer, featuring delicate gold-painted designs of Nikko Kisuge or other unique patterns depending on the Room, adding a touch of elegance to your stay. This subtle attention to detail is a hallmark of our hospitality at Sanraku.

Discovered during the Edo period, Kinugawa Onsen was historically a prestigious Onsen, accessible only to feudal lords and monks returning from pilgrimages to Nikko, as it was part of the Nikko temple domain at the time. Our facility features a variety of elegant decorations inspired by the vibrant Genroku era, which marked the peak of Edo period culture. Additionally, we display furnishings symbolizing the connection between Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Kinugawa Onsen, including precious gifts such as "Phoenix Paintings" bestowed directly from Nikko Toshogu Shrine.
