I stayed here again for the first time in five years. The food and service felt much improved, which was a pleasant surprise. For example, the rice at breakfast was excellent—among the best I’ve had in Yamagata. I also enjoyed chatting with the staff and had a great time. I’d like to visit again soon.

I have stayed here many times. Among the Onsen in Zao, the water quality is excellent, and Tsuruya’s baths suit me perfectly. There are also four types of private baths, so you can relax and enjoy them at your own pace. The food is incredibly delicious—every meat dish is generous in portion size and so tasty that you’ll want to eat it again right away. This time I had the Zao beef steak; it was very tender and wonderful with a variety of flavors such as lemon butter and wasabi. I will definitely visit again. A Multiple Night Stay is also recommended.

I stayed at this Accommodation as a well-deserved solo getaway to escape the daily routine of housework and childcare. It was my first time trying an order-style buffet, and it brought me far more happiness than I ever imagined. Since I usually focus on my child’s meals and put my own last, I think it was a bit of a rebound—I happily kept eating for about 2.5 hours, refilling my favorite appetizers whenever I wanted, and going back for dessert again and again… It was an experience you simply can’t have with a set course meal. As an adult, you really do “taste with your eyes” too: having dishes beautifully plated right in front of me at the counter with perfectly matched herbs gave me a different kind of satisfaction from an ordinary buffet. Even though I thought I might feel overly full, there were plenty of vegetables as well, so by the next morning I had a good appetite again—and went back for seconds once more. The soup was especially delicious! Because the Accommodation clearly puts so much effort into the dining experience, other aspects of service felt fairly simple by comparison. The bath facilities were great: high-quality Onsen water and a spacious public bath, plus an open-air bath in the public area that I really enjoyed. Personally, the Onsen felt good enough that I didn’t feel strongly about needing a private open-air bath. One thing: since there is also a sauna in the public bath area, I would have loved to have a water dispenser near the changing room. As this is an all-inclusive Accommodation, I hope to see that added in the future. I’d also like to visit other properties in the Ichinobo Group someday. Thank you very much.

As it’s close to Zao, this was my first stay at this Accommodation. To put it mildly, it’s one of the best Accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. It’s fairly large, so the interiors and lobby are well appointed, but above all it’s quiet and comfortable. The large public bath with an open-air bath is excellent, and the teppanyaki cuisine was outstanding. There was nothing to complain about. The service struck just the right balance, everything was impeccably clean, and I truly enjoyed my stay.

The moment we stepped into our split-level Room facing the river and surrounded by lush greenery, we could feel the fresh airflow. The private baths, available without a Reservation whenever you feel like stopping by, are each thoughtfully designed and a pleasure to try, and the large public bath is spacious and deeply relaxing. Meals in the dining area are high-quality dishes that make the most of local ingredients, and we also loved the wide selection of all-inclusive drinks. Finishing with coffee and dessert in the lounge made for an outstanding dinner experience. The next morning, after enjoying an early bath, we had an excellent breakfast with items like dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet) and freshly grilled kinmedai (splendid alfonsino). Thanks to the staff’s warm smiles and exceptional hospitality, we enjoyed a truly wonderful getaway. We would love to return in another season.

A Room with an open-air bath, great views, and a wonderful atmosphere. We also appreciated being able to enjoy free drinks such as beer. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying in both quantity and quality. The relaxed dining atmosphere was excellent! The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was also very pleasant.

I stayed here with the Zao Snow Monsters package in Shiroishi-Zao. The hot spring was excellent and very refreshing. The meals were very generous, and I ended up leaving a lot. I would like an option with smaller portions.

From arrival to departure, we fully enjoyed the all-inclusive experience. After checking in from the hot outdoors, the beer we had right away in the lounge was amazing. Dinner was a relaxing time with international cuisine and delicious drinks. The Onsen features two large open-air baths, perfect for unwinding. After dinner, the lounge offers sake, shochu, and local cream cheese. Breakfast also had such a wide variety that we ended up eating until we were full again. This is a Hotel you’ll want to visit again.

Thank you for taking care of me on my solo trip. More than just a charming old-fashioned hot spring Accommodation, it offered the peace and nostalgia people long for. The hot spring was flawless—100% natural, free-flowing from the source. It warmed me to the core. The meals may not look flashy, but they truly satisfy both stomach and soul. The morning miso soup in particular was outstanding. The cheerful, gentle hospitality of everyone at the Accommodation lifted my spirits after being worn out by the rain. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again someday.

A prior Review mentioned that there were many foreign staff, and it felt like most of the staff were non-Japanese. However, their Japanese was very good and the service was fine, so it didn’t bother me. Amenities are placed in the lobby and you take what you need yourself. They had plenty, including toner, makeup remover, shampoo, etc. You can drink coffee and tea for free at the cafe corner, which was a nice service. The meals were mainly Japanese cuisine and were delicious. Personally, I loved the stylish and cute small plates used for the dishes. The bath was pleasant too, but I felt there weren’t enough hair dryers. Especially for women who need more time to dry their hair, I ended up thinking I’d have to wait my turn… and that it might be faster to go back to my Room with wet hair and dry it there. The view from the Room was great and was the best part. The mountains and river looked beautiful—wonderful scenery.

A traditional Accommodation facing the main street of Togatta Onsen. The Facilities are old, but that adds a retro charm and makes you feel like you’ve come back to your family home in the countryside... The bath is quite hot—probably around 45°C—but there’s a hose on the faucet so you can cool it down before getting in. The meals had a nostalgic taste, featuring plenty of mountain vegetables. It feels like an Accommodation for adults. There is a public bathhouse right in front, where you can enjoy various types of baths. The parking lot is next door and easy to use. If you make a Reservation the day before, you can buy croissants as a souvenir at checkout. They’re extremely delicious and perfect as a snack while sightseeing at Okama and other spots. I will stay here again.

Although we arrived later than planned and felt uneasy in the dark due to the rain, we managed to reach safely. Having streetlights or lights in the parking area might have made parking easier. The room had a thoughtful message, and the lights and heating were already on, which made us feel at ease. Thank you very much. The Onsen was perfect, especially since it was cold. As it rained the next day as well, we chose to relax in the room and enjoyed soaking in the Onsen from the morning. We were very satisfied with both the atmosphere of the room and its facilities. Next time, we hope to enjoy dining on the terrace on a sunny day. Thank you for your hospitality!

We had a truly enjoyable time. The Facility was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The tent had both heating and air conditioning, and perhaps because it was Golden Week, the outdoor temperature was also ideal. The meal portions were just right. If I had to mention one thing, since it’s a tent, voices do carry. There were times when we noticed the neighboring dog and a baby crying, but it was within an acceptable range. This was our first glamping experience, and it became a wonderful memory.

Thank you for your hospitality. Each dish was beautifully presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The Zao cream cheese gnocchi was especially delicious, and the sauce was so good that we ended up dipping bread into it! Despite causing some inconvenience, you handled everything kindly and professionally. We look forward to staying with you again in the future.

I stayed for two nights, and the best part was that drinks were free all the time with the all-inclusive plan. I didn’t go out anywhere and just enjoyed the Onsen and drinks, which was perfect.

You can enjoy a carefully prepared meal served in your Room at a relaxed pace. The Facility is old, but it is clean and felt like coming home to my parents’ house. From the window, the view of the mountains of Aone and the sound of birds made me feel refreshed. I would definitely like to visit again.

Very convenient for skiers. Lift discount vouchers are available in the off-season in March. Unfortunately, I didn’t know about them on the first day and couldn’t use one. Many Hotels around here are like this, but it’s great that you can still take a bath after check-out once you’re done skiing. The open-air bath has excellent water quality, but it was a bit disappointing that after check-out only the indoor bath is available. The meals were more than enough, and I didn’t have room for the all-you-can-eat imoni soup and dessert. I wanted to have the imoni soup the next morning even if it was just reheated, but it seems it’s only served at night. I thought it would be nice if the foreign staff smiled a bit more, but since I train Hotel employees as a Japanese-language teacher, I tend to be overly critical. They are probably doing their best.
