On short notice, my granddaughter and I decided to go to a hot spring, and for our first trip to Gero Onsen we stayed at Ooedo Onsen Monogatari PREMIUM Gero Honkan. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations (in the best way) (lol). First of all, as someone who enjoys a drink, I really appreciated being able to have alcohol from 2:00 PM—and I definitely took full advantage (lol). We chose a room with an open-air hot spring bath, but it was a bit lukewarm. Since the large public bath was right downstairs, we ended up using that instead. The hot spring water was also fantastic—rich in metasilicic acid, which I love—and it left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. I regret having passed through Gero Onsen all these years (lol). For a while, I’ll be coming back to Gero Onsen regularly! My granddaughter was happy too—she enjoyed the karaoke. If I had to mention anything, there weren’t many types of tempura. Also, at breakfast the live kitchen only had French toast, which was a little disappointing. Overall though, the water quality was excellent and we were very satisfied with our trip. We’ll be back again.

As the title says, there are many Kuretakeso properties nearby. The Hotel entrance is halfway up a slope, so it may be a bit tough if you have a lot of luggage. The road in front of the entrance has heavy traffic. Breakfast has limited variety but is delicious. The dining area is a luxurious Room. The lobby comic selection is small; I think they should add more. Since it would help attract guests, I recommend increasing the selection even with used books. There is only one elevator. Soft drinks are all-you-can-drink. For about two hours at night, alcohol is also all-you-can-drink. The Room is spacious. There is a shower booth. You can watch TV while soaking in the bath—there are two TVs in the Room. Parking lots are scattered around, and if it’s your first time, it can be hard to tell where to park. Recommended in this area.

All staff members checked in with us thoughtfully and attentively, which made our family’s stay very comfortable. Thank you for your warm hospitality. We will make a Reservation at the Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto again for our next stay in Kyoto.

Although it was a bit far from the station, there was a convenience store on the ground floor, which was very convenient. Facing a main road also made it easy to find. There is no large public bath or Onsen, but the in-room shower had been replaced with a Mirable showerhead, which felt new and nice. The amenity buffet was so well stocked that you could arrive empty-handed without any issues, and there were also pillows to choose from, so I could relax comfortably in an environment close to what I’m used to at home. On the front desk floor, there was a tea dispenser available at all times, and until 6:00 p.m., dumplings were provided as sweets. In addition, several kinds of obanzai and one alcoholic drink were served free of charge until 9:00 p.m., and I felt the complimentary services were very thorough. I booked the No Meals Included Plan but purchased a breakfast voucher on site and had breakfast as well. There was an excellent variety of Shizuoka-style items such as tuna sashimi, whitebait (shirasu), horse mackerel takikomi rice, and grilled eel (kabayaki), more than enough to leave me fully satisfied. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that there wasn’t an ice bucket provided in the room, so I ended up using paper cups at the ice machine, which was slightly inconvenient. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay.

We chose this property for our road trip because of the parking options and the spacious Room. There is a large multi-story parking garage at Urban Plaza about a 3-minute walk away, so we didn’t have to worry about not being able to park. The Room and bed were both spacious and comfortable. With a car, it was reasonably priced and conveniently located for sightseeing, so we were very satisfied.

The staff were very helpful, the room was clean, and breakfast was great. I will definitely stay here again.

It was my first visit in several years, and the Onsen, meals, service, and the staff’s hospitality were all wonderful. I was especially impressed that you even cleaned our car at checkout. We’ve gained another unforgettable memory, and we will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff.

The Wi‑Fi was fast and reliable, and the bath was very comfortable. I also appreciated the coffee service next to the front desk—freshly ground and delicious. Route Inn hotels are always convenient, and I will stay again next time.

We stayed here again this year following last year. The Room was clean, equipped with necessary amenities and comfortable yukata, and there is even a small but satisfying public bath. The izakaya next door is very convenient for dinner. This time, we were especially moved when we opened the Room door after check-in and saw the stunning sunset through the window.

I always enjoy staying here! The location is great, and I’d love to stay again in the future!

It felt as comfortable as coming back to my own Room where I live alone. I was able to relax at a very leisurely pace. It’s close to the station, and an excellent Accommodation with nothing to complain about.

This was my third stay. After arriving while it was still light out, I first enjoyed Goshobo’s semi-mixed Onsen and the large public bath with its golden Onsen. Since it was summer, even a short soak left me sweating nonstop. In the large bath, I shared the water with someone for the first time here; we had a pleasant chat and ended up soaking a bit longer. Dinner was a lighter, seafood-focused course. The chilled Awaji spiny lobster soup was a perfect match with Koshu wine. The highlight began with sashimi of meita-garei flounder and aged sea bream, followed by more Akashi-ura fish to enjoy. The charcoal-grilled Spanish mackerel and the Akashi sea bream acqua pazza were both seasonal specials you can only have here at this time of year. The broth in the acqua pazza was much lighter than last autumn’s filefish version. To finish, the cheese course left me fully satisfied in both quality and quantity—thank you for the wonderful meal. For breakfast, I switched back to the standard menu: milk, soup, vegetables—an all-around delicious plate—beautiful French toast, and yogurt meant to savor the jam and honey. Everything tasted exactly as good as expected. Even the mini breads were great; this time, the buttery croissant was my favorite. In my Room bath, I topped up little by little while letting it cool slightly, enjoying a pleasantly lukewarm golden Onsen. The breeze through the window felt wonderful: lush greenery everywhere, distant summer skies, murmuring sounds of life outside—and cicadas loud enough not to lose to them. Summer Onsen really is something special. After breakfast I alternated between the golden Onsen and the low-temperature sauna. It was an extremely satisfying holiday stay. Thank you very much. P.S. This was our third stay, and every time our whole family is impressed by how delicious the meals are. This time we chose the sushi kaiseki dinner, and we were already fully satisfied even before the sushi was served. The sushi itself—uni, conger eel, tuna, aori squid, sea bream, and more—was all excellent. As this is a long-established ryokan, the facilities and equipment do feel a bit dated, but every staff member provides outstanding service. It’s a ryokan we truly want to stay at again. We look forward to visiting again on our next stay.

If you don’t mind the price, there are probably Hotels closer to Tokyo Dome, but when I searched on Yahoo! Travel, this one was reasonably priced. To get to Tokyo Dome: it’s about a 10-minute walk from the Hotel to Okachimachi Station (I walk slowly), then from Okachimachi you transfer once at Akihabara to Suidobashi, and after that it’s about a 10-minute walk to Tokyo Dome (again, I walk slowly). They stored my luggage in the morning, there was a microwave right outside the elevator, and they cleaned the Room even during a Multiple Night Stay. There was also a bedside clock (I didn’t check whether it had an alarm function). They said there were women-only services; at check-in I received one-time pouches of each item—face mask sheet, makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, and serum—as well as bath salts. You can receive one set per stay (once per Accommodation), but you can get one of each type. I was especially happy about the face mask. The shower water pressure was neither too strong nor too weak, and there were no issues with toilet flushing. Of course there was a washlet and a hair dryer (the airflow is slightly weak but it’s quiet and also has a cool setting). The “cleaning needed/not needed” sign was magnetic, so I could cover and block the peephole as well. The lock is an auto-lock card key system (card must be returned when checking out); inside the door there is only a thumbturn lock. I would have been even happier if there had been a trash bin near the sink. Occasionally I heard water sounds like someone flushing in another Room. I’m not sure whether anyone stayed next door; as for voices, I only faintly heard staff talking while cleaning in the hallway. Also on the morning of day two, for some reason my Room sometimes smelled like grilled fish. What bothered me most is that the Hotel entrance has stairs with no ramp, so you need to lift heavy luggage. All in all, it was more than sufficient for traveling for a live show. Overall, I think it was good.

Breakfast with French toast and delicious coffee alone made the stay worthwhile. All the staff were pleasant and responded courteously. The Room was clean, and I had a very comfortable stay. Grinding the beans in the Room and drinking the coffee was a different experience from usual, and it tasted even better. I usually stay at a Hotel near Sapporo Station, so I was worried about transferring subways to get here. Even when I asked people walking on the street, they seemed unsure, but when I asked the Hotel staff after arriving, they said it might be easier for people to recognize it if you mention Morihiko’s cafe rather than the Hotel name. Once I arrived, the location was very easy to find. If I have another chance next time, I would definitely like to stay again. Since my Room had only a shower booth, I did not rate the bath facilities. If anything, having disposable shower caps might be convenient.

I want to support you. I’d like to visit again after the renovation. I can really feel how hard the staff are working.

I always enjoy Route Inn’s services, especially the breakfast and large public bath. I also look forward to the local specialty dishes served at breakfast in each prefecture. I will stay again.

Free Shuttle Service is available from Kawaguchiko Station. (Pickup requires a Reservation in advance; drop-off can be reserved at check-in.) Both the exterior and interior show their age, but the Room and other areas are well cleaned and kept tidy. The sink felt a bit dated. The Room key was delightfully nostalgic (laughs). I didn’t use the outdoor bath, so I can’t comment on it, but the Room I stayed in had a shower only. It seemed newly renovated and was very clean. (The provided shampoos include both DHC and Ichikami!) Lotion, emulsion, and makeup remover were POLA amenities. I ordered both dinner and breakfast; the portions were generous and everything was delicious! I really appreciated that it wasn’t buffet-style. Hot dishes were served hot. There is a laundry area; detergent costs 100 yen, but the drum washing machines are free to use! (There are two machines.) The staff’s service was excellent! So it felt more like a Ryokan than a Hotel. Thank you very much for your hospitality during my stay!

The proprietress and staff were wonderfully attentive in the best way, and it felt like a traditional ryokan carrying on the charm of the good old days. By chance, there was a major festival held around the ryokan—something that happens only once every few years—so we were also able to enjoy its magical atmosphere. Thank you very much.
