Yutaki Inn Nishiya

This was my first visit to Shirabu Onsen. The baths have an abundant supply of hot water, and although there is no open-air bath, it was almost like having the place to ourselves even during the Obon holidays. I also appreciated that there is a free private bath in addition to the large public bath.Our Room was Seiryu; unfortunately, it had a slightly dusty smell.For meals, the proprietress’s homemade obanzai are served buffet-style, so we were saying that next time an obanzai Plan might be enough. We were also satisfied with the many complimentary drink options, including alcohol.I’d like to make plans to visit again soon.

We stayed on a Saturday during a pleasant season, and luckily I was able to use the Yudaki bath and the private family bath a total of four times all by myself. Being able to use them throughout the night and around dawn is a big plus. The Accommodation staff were kind, and the other guests were considerate as well, so even with shared toilets and washbasins—and slightly thin walls—I had no issues and stayed very comfortably. Along with the soothing calls of birds (and maybe frogs?), I thought I could also hear something like snoring from somewhere, but I brought earplugs just in case and slept soundly. (Ambient sounds are unavoidable, so I have no complaints at all; my companion, who is a light sleeper, noticed it a bit but didn’t take any precautions—so I’m sharing this as a reference.) In any case, this is a wonderful historic Accommodation; walks to nearby waterfalls are great, the cats are adorable, and the meals are delicious. It’s an Accommodation where you can feel thoughtful care everywhere you look.
