    A comfortable Hotel where you can relax.

    The staff service, Facility, Room, Miyajima cruise, dinner, and breakfast were all very satisfying. We had a Multiple Night Stay, and there was almost nothing repeated at dinner. Also, the rice balls made on the spot at breakfast were perfectly shaped, and our whole family enjoyed them. Thank you very much to all the staff.

    The Facility is outdated, and the service—more like the lack of attentiveness—was disappointing.

    I am an IKYU Diamond member. When I asked at check-in whether there were any member benefits, the female front desk staff curtly replied, “There are none.” We arrived around noon and left our luggage at the front desk before immediately taking the shuttle bus to Miyajima. Since one piece of luggage had been sent ahead by courier, I called to confirm it had arrived, but was told it had not. That would have been a problem, so while buying necessities at a convenience store, I asked the courier company that accepted the shipment to check—only to be told it had already been delivered. When I contacted the Hotel again, they then said they did have it. We were seated for dinner a little late, but even after sitting down the dishes did not come together, the hot pot was not lit, and everything took a very long time. I thought we might miss our night cruise. At the table next to us, people who seemed to be staff repeatedly practiced carrying dishes and clearing tables without any guests present; I found myself wondering what was going on. If there was time for that, I wanted them to focus on serving guests. Because of my bad leg, I had requested a shower chair in advance for the bath area, but was told they did not have one. There were no shower chairs in the public bath either, so washing myself was difficult—I cannot wash while standing in the shower, and if a chair is too low I cannot stand up easily. Breakfast buffet was extremely crowded; refills were slow and some items ran out. It felt like service wasn’t keeping up. I wish we had chosen a Hotel on the Miyajima side instead. However, we did enjoy the night cruise.

    With my elderly aunt

    I stayed here after inviting my aunt from Hiroshima to join me from Kanagawa. She told me she had stayed at this Hotel many times in the past during the fireworks season. The view of Miyajima straight ahead from the entrance was wonderful, and both the Room and the large public Onsen bath were clean, making it very relaxing. However, I was a bit disappointed that dinner included udon, soba, and seasoned rice all together, which felt too heavy on carbohydrates.

    The night cruise was great, but...

    Although the property feels a bit dated, it was very clean, and the sea-side Room had a great view. Both dinner and breakfast were disappointing due to obvious understaffing. Dinner in particular was terrible. Even after being seated, neither drink orders nor dishes came unless we called staff over. We repeatedly asked because we had a night cruise to catch, but nothing happened... In the end, one dish never arrived before the meal ended, and the overall quality was not satisfying. Breakfast was buffet-style, but neither food nor drinks were replenished. However, the onigiri were delicious, and the woman who made them was very kind. Since the Room view and the night cruise were so good, I would like them to put more effort into the meals.

    It was great.

    We stayed as a group of five, and the Room was a spacious Japanese-style room. While it felt a bit dated, it was well maintained, and the views from both the lobby and the Room were great. The night cruise was excellent.

    The view was amazing.

    Although it is a bit far from the station, shuttle buses run frequently, so it never felt inconvenient. I checked in quite late at night, but the staff were thoughtful in every way—from meals to luggage—so I was able to stay very comfortably. It truly felt like a long-established Hotel. I didn’t use the large public bath, but the Room bath uses separate hot and cold water controls, so adjusting the temperature may be a little tricky. Amenities are provided in generous pump bottles. The Room was spacious and relaxing, and there was also a balcony—spending time there was a lovely part of the stay. Above all, the view from the Room was stunning—like a Turner painting. The night cruise was wonderful, and listening to the cheerful captain-in-training was very informative—from how to take photos to stories about the origins of the deer. It was fascinating to hear how it differs from Kasuga Taisha and Kashima Jingu, and even that deer ride the ferry back to Miyajima. The cruise itself was excellent; as we approached the great torii gate, I could really feel its scale. The souvenir shop didn’t feel cluttered at all—you can enjoy choosing from both high-end items and more casual ones. A relative in Hiroshima told me, “It’s been a good Hotel for years,” and I’m truly glad I chose this place.

    This is the best Hotel I have ever stayed at.

    The worst Hotel I have ever stayed at. The service, Room, and food were all terrible. I have never experienced a Hotel this bad before. I will never come back, and it will probably go out of business soon.

    The curtain in the Room was torn upon entering, which was surprising. I hope the night cruise and the morning boat to Miyajima will continue without fail.

    The Room was clean, with water provided, hot water ready in the kettle, and perfect air conditioning. I was very satisfied. The night cruising course and the explanation by the staff were kind and enjoyable! I would love to use it again. Thank you!!

    Silent service

    Upon arriving at the accommodation by rental car in the evening on the day of our stay, there was no one to greet us or guide us on where to park. I had no choice but to drop off my wife and luggage at the entrance and search for a parking spot on my own. When I returned, both my wife and luggage were left unattended without any assistance. The front desk was not particularly busy, with only a few groups waiting in line, but no staff approached us, so we joined the queue and eventually checked in. While carrying our own luggage was acceptable, it would have been helpful if someone had at least informed us of the elevator's location. The room was a reasonably spacious Japanese-Western style room; however, school trip students staying on the same floor were extremely noisy. Dinner was supposed to be an upgraded kaiseki meal, but dishes took too long to arrive—hot items were lukewarm while sashimi and its plate were excessively cold. The taste left much to be desired as well. Breakfast did not require a specific time reservation; however, this resulted in a long line forming right at 7:00 AM when service began. There was no guidance or explanation regarding seating arrangements either. As we wanted an early start for Miyajima that morning, we opted out of waiting in line and settled for just rice balls and miso soup. Paying nearly 70,000 yen for two people for this level of quality made it a disappointing trip overall. It is clear that there is insufficient staff to provide even basic services properly.

    We stayed here for a three-generation family trip.

    The building is a bit old, but everyone was kind. The evening kaiseki meal and night cruising were very satisfying. However, it was disappointing that there was no announcement about the private bath being half-price as part of the Plan, so we missed the opportunity to use it. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to use it again if given the chance.

    Breathtaking View

    The room was clean and comfortable, offering a breathtaking view of the grand torii gate through its large windows. Meals featured fresh sashimi and oyster hot pot, allowing us to savor local specialties. The dishes were beautifully presented with rice paddles and torii-shaped garnishes, making them visually delightful as well. The night cruise was refreshing with the evening breeze, bringing us closer to the torii gate than expected and offering a unique view not usually experienced. Departing directly from the hotel's pier was convenient and appreciated. Breakfast included delicious oyster simmered in soy sauce, rolled omelets, and an interesting honey tasting experience not commonly found at other accommodations—my husband, who usually doesn't enjoy honey, was surprised by how different each type tasted. This has become one of the accommodations we would love to visit again—thank you! One disappointment was that late at night, the small open-air bath on the terrace of the large public bath had floating hair and debris in it, which was unfortunate.

    Accommodation for a 60th birthday celebration

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate a family member's 60th birthday. The room was spacious, allowing us to relax and unwind. However, despite the large room, the TV was quite small and a bit hard to watch (laugh). During dinner at the restaurant for our celebration, there was an unexpected incident due to a staff mistake. While it could have been upsetting, we appreciated the staff's response and turned it into a funny memory instead (laugh). The hotel was well-maintained with clean facilities, including a spotless public bath where we could relax. It was a memorable family trip with both good and not-so-good moments that made it special. The shuttle service to the nearby ferry terminal for Miyajima made traveling very convenient. We would love to stay again if we have another opportunity in the future!

    The service was typical of a large hotel. The shuttle service driver did not assist with loading or unloading luggage and was unfriendly. To start, the most disappointing aspect was that the open-air bath with a great view, as advertised on the website, was only available for private use at an additional cost. While there was an open-air bath in the public bath on the first floor, it was surrounded by concrete and lacked any atmosphere. Dinner was an upgraded Japanese kaiseki meal; however, most dishes were served all at once, seemingly to save staff effort. This resulted in warm dishes being served too early, making it impossible to enjoy them in the order listed on the menu. Overall, it turned out to be a somewhat disappointing stay.

    We had a great time.

    It was my first time staying in a Japanese-style room in a while. I thought it might be nice for a change, but there were only two chairs in the seating area, so the three of us took turns using them. The window was large with a great view, and I could even see the torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine in the distance, which made me feel truly excited to be in Aki. The souvenir shop was spacious and offered a wide variety of items. I ended up buying quite a lot on the first day because everything caught my eye. There was also a night cruise departing from the Hotel, which allowed us to enjoy an unforgettable cruising experience. It departed conveniently from the lobby and was very easy to join. Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable and delicious. The rice balls at breakfast left a particularly strong impression on me—they were freshly made with fillings of our choice right before our eyes, making them incredibly tasty! Thank you for such wonderful meals. Although it’s located slightly away from the station, Shuttle Service was available, making transportation very convenient. Thank you for such an enjoyable trip!

    The view from the se...

    The view from the sea-facing balcony was excellent. The meal on the first night consisted mostly of pre-made dishes and felt a bit bland, but the simmered fish on the second night was very delicious. The baths operate on a rotation system, but there is only one bath in the basement, and the outdoor bath on the first floor does not offer a view of the outside, which was disappointing. However, I found the customer service to be very good.

    The front desk staff gave great recommendations for local gourmet spots. Also, the guide for the light cruise was very kind and made it an enjoyable experience.

    Questions about payment methods on IKYU.

    The hotel was very comfortable and pleasant. I think there is a slight issue with the payment process on IKYU. Although I chose to pay on-site, it was mentioned that switching to online credit card payment by noon on the day would give a discount of 5,388 yen, so I proceeded with the process. However, no discounted price appeared no matter how many times I tried. At check-in, I asked the reception to look into it and was told that points would be credited later. If it only results in earning points, I believe the description should be clearer about this.

    Golden Week

    Thank you for your hospitality during Golden Week. As expected, it was very crowded. The bath was busy at all times, and the washing area was in high demand. However, considering it was Golden Week, this is understandable. The Room for three people was a very spacious Japanese-style room with a wonderful view, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. It was heartwarming to see the foreign staff working so diligently. Thank you again for your hospitality.

    Bathroom

    The services were satisfactory. However, the bathroom was a bit cramped, and there were no tissues, which was slightly inconvenient. The private open-air bath was great, though being visible from the sea was a bit concerning. The night cruise was also enjoyable.

    I stayed during the spring break trip. The dinner was delicious, but I especially loved the breakfast buffet with its wide variety. Although I noticed a lack of staff, such as no room guidance provided, I had no particular complaints about the service. The large public bath only had an open-air bath on one side, so I recommend enjoying it both in the morning and evening. The atrium in the lobby has a nostalgic charm and was absolutely lovely! Our sea-facing Room made my child very happy. Thank you!

    The Ultimate Experience for British Guests

    The reservation was made at the request of a guest visiting from the UK. It seems they had an absolutely amazing experience. We reserved a Japanese-style room on the ocean side, and the view was spectacular. Additionally, the private onsen could be used at a relatively affordable price, making it an excellent option for foreign guests who may feel uncomfortable bathing with others.

    Stayed here for the first time.

    The seaside Hotel was spacious and very nice. We were able to relax even with children. The Room was also large and comfortable. We had a Western-style course meal, and it was enjoyable to eat quietly. I think I will choose Western cuisine again next time. Thank you very much. I would love to stay here again!

    With Grandchildren

    We stayed as a family of 3 adults and 2 children. It was a last-minute trip, but we were glad there was availability. The room was spacious enough for all five of us. However, the dinner was disappointing. While it might be considered reasonable for the price, it took too long to be served. At one point, service completely stopped, and the children got restless, which was unfortunate. There is shuttle service to the station, and the staff's hospitality was commendable.

    Great Family Trip

    The ferry service, the polite reception at the front desk, the night cruise, and the meals were all absolutely satisfying! The room was impeccably clean, located on the ocean side with a view of the grand torii gate. It had two sinks in the wash area, making it spacious and convenient to use. Although I was initially concerned about meals based on reviews, even the standard kaiseki cuisine was delightful. The fresh sashimi and oyster hot pot allowed us to enjoy local specialties! My parents seemed very satisfied as well, and I truly feel that choosing this accommodation was a great decision. The night cruise offered a rare opportunity to view the torii gate from offshore at night, and we learned so much from our guide's explanations! The breakfast rice balls and chawanmushi were incredibly delicious! This is definitely one of those accommodations I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Overall disappointing.

    The meals were quite disappointing. The sashimi was dried out, and overall, the food was really not tasty. It was shocking that despite the upgrades, the quality of the food was poor. I went to ask at the front desk late at night if they sold water, but no one came out even after ringing the bell. When I finally found a vending machine on my own, it didn’t have any water either. There were long hairs in the bathroom of my Room, which made me feel uncomfortable. Are they really cleaning properly? Also, the private open-air bath was disappointing as well. You can’t wash your body there and it smelled like chlorine. It’s just soaking in a bath! Although it’s for 45 minutes, I got out after 20 minutes because I couldn’t stand it anymore. I don’t understand why this costs 3,800 yen. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with my stay here—very disappointing!

    Scenery & Dinner: Satisfying!

    I stayed at the property for the meal as there was an oyster course. I was able to enjoy oysters prepared in various ways such as grilled, boiled, steamed, and fried, and all were delicious and satisfying. I ordered a sake tasting set and it was great to be able to enjoy six types of Hiroshima sake. The view from the room was also wonderful. It was a bit disappointing that only the onsen on the 1st and 2nd floors did not have an outside view. Next time, I would like to reserve a private open-air bath to enjoy the scenery. But I had a very relaxing time and it was fun. Thank you very much.

    Excellent location.

    The ocean view was full of highlights and very enjoyable. Taking the night cruise and the morning direct ferry to Miyajima was absolutely the right choice. The staff at the Hotel were pleasant from the moment I called with questions the day before, and everyone was very kind during our stay. We were able to have a very satisfying trip, and we are grateful for that. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. I would prefer quality over quantity. Perhaps due to the extremely dry air, the food became dried out or cold by the later hours. Even a freshly made simple set meal would be fine.
