    Reborn in luxury

    I have stayed at the Ikenotaira Hotel about 10 times since my children were small. This year, we stayed in the new main building as it had a grand reopening. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were surprised by the luxurious design. The rooms in the new main building were also clean and comfortable. The buffet venue also had a luxurious atmosphere, and the layout allowed us to get our food smoothly without having to line up, even with many people around. Of course, the food was delicious and we were very satisfied. The baths were also very clean, and my husband mentioned that the sauna was excellent. The relaxation area after the bath was spacious, allowing us to spend time leisurely. The free water and sparkling water were a nice touch. The hotel is connected to the amusement building by a corridor, and we spent hours enjoying the pool, bowling, table tennis, and the large game center. Overall, it has transformed into a property that is highly satisfying not only for families with children but also for adults.

    The room was very clean and nice.

    The room was clean and very nice, and the view from the window was also wonderful. I thought the amenities were good as well. I enjoyed the herbal tea from the room service drinks. However, the buffet was not as expected (especially breakfast). It felt like a family restaurant atmosphere. I would like the buffet to be more satisfying (quality) in content... If that were the case, I was satisfied with the room and would have considered repeating my stay, but with a buffet of that level, I don't think I would want to stay again... To repeat, the room was clean and nice. Thank you for your hospitality.

    There are too few options on the children's menu.

    I went with my 6-year-old child and was looking forward to it. The interior was clean and the bath was slightly strong with chlorine, but we enjoyed it. However, the children's menu was too limited! Just fried chicken, fries, and Neapolitan pasta? And there was such a long line that by the time it was our turn, the fries were gone... I thought they would be replenished quickly, but they weren't at all. The staff didn't notice. Isn't the concept supposed to be a Hotel for children?? On the other hand, the adult menu was extensive, but still, the lines were too long and it was too crowded. Why do I have to wait in such long lines on a vacation? I won't be going again.

    Children are also satisfied.

    I stayed for one night in October. Overall, I got the impression that it is popular for a reason. The response at the front desk and the staff's service during meals left a good impression. To keep costs down, I stayed in the annex building, so the condition of the room, including some wear and age, was within expectations. I stayed with two children and enjoyed both the activities and meals with a plan that included a passport for Family Land. One minor concern was that I felt a bit stressed about the process of getting a new bath towel after using the onsen. It would be nice if there were a simpler way to handle this. Another point that saddened me was the significant difference in staff attitudes depending on the facility or area. I understand this might be common, but since it's the same property, I felt it would be better if the hotel, recreational facilities, and experience facilities were at the same level. That said, my children enjoyed it and expressed a desire to stay again, so I would definitely like to use it again. Thank you for this time.

    The buffet was disappointing.

    I was really looking forward to the buffet, having seen photos of various booths offering meals, but my family ended up complaining that there was nothing special about the buffet. Despite the many booths, there surprisingly weren't many varieties. The taste wasn't good, there was a line for miso soup in the morning, and even when we were shown to our table and given explanations about the all-you-can-drink options, the cries of small children drowned it out, making us wonder about the timing. The environment felt like a food court, which was uncomfortable. Although the facility is wonderful, I felt there is room for improvement in these areas.

    Sauna trip

    I had been curious about it from the commercials. I decided to make a reservation because the sauna and infinity open-air bath are mixed-gender. The view of Lake Shirakaba from the sauna was very nice. The cold bath was also good, and the water and carbonated water in the post-bath lounge were very delicious. I stayed in the Annex building. Compared to the new building, which is extremely clean, the Annex building shows its age, but it was well-cleaned and nice. I didn't use the bath in the room. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was also good. The best part was that all the hotel staff were kind and very pleasant! Thank you very much.

    We stayed in a Japan...

    We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room in the annex building. It was older than expected and smelled musty the moment we entered, so we gave allergy medicine to our children. (One of them immediately said their throat felt strange.) And for some reason, there were many bugs in the room that weren't mosquitoes... I regretted not choosing a newer room even if it meant paying more. People with asthma should be cautious. Other than that, there were no problems. The buffet was very satisfying.

    Clean hotel

    Upon arrival, a trainee helped us load our luggage onto a cart and took it to the front desk, but near the front desk, they dropped several pieces of luggage from the cart and put them back without apologizing, which was unpleasant. Among the dropped items were snacks, and given the current times, I would have liked them to be wiped with alcohol. Also, when we were waiting for our car in the parking lot upon departure, the staff's guidance for the cars was not good at all. We were instructed to wait in a parking space with two small children and a cart full of luggage, but the entrance to the parking lot was congested, and we ended up having to park the car quite a distance away, which was very inconvenient. In the new building, even with two futons laid out for three adults and two children, the room was spacious and clean, and the view from the room was excellent. When we moved the chairs to lay out the futons, we found dust in the corners, but when we contacted the staff, they promptly came to clean it. The large public bath had a spacious changing room and a baby bed, making it convenient for families with children. The buffet meals were not bad, but quite ordinary, and I thought it would be nice to have an upgraded dining option. The indoor play area with bowling and a game center had a retro feel, but our 4-year-old was very happy and enjoyed playing, including at the amusement park.
