This Accommodation is perfect for families with children!

We stayed in the new wing this time. The Room layout, design, and atmosphere were excellent, and we were able to spend both nights very comfortably. The meals were very luxurious, but since we had a Multiple Night Stay, the buffet was the same on both days—if the main dish changed by day, it would have been even better. Above all, there are amusement parks and a zoo nearby, and since we traveled with children, it was a flawless five-star stay. Also, the Onsen offers a mixed-gender style where swimsuits are worn, so our whole family could bathe together and our kids were thrilled. We would like to visit again around the same time next year.

    Family-friendly!

We visited as a family of three with our daughter, who is almost 2 years old. The pool and kids’ park are well equipped, so you can enjoy them even without staying at the Hotel. We were also happy that the buffet included a kids’ buffet. The Room was clean as well.

    Celebration of a 70th Birthday

We stayed here with eight family members, including two grandchildren, to celebrate my 70th birthday. The building was clean, and all the staff were kind and handled everything efficiently. The grandchildren were thrilled, running around the on-site amusement area, athletic playground, and zoo. The meals were delicious as well, with many dishes made using local ingredients. We would love to stay again if we have the chance. If I could make one request, it would be great to have a direct bus from Shinjuku.

The best Hotel for families with children to enjoy with peace of mind

Our family of four, including a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, stayed here. This time we stayed in the main building, and it was very clean compared with the east wing we used two years ago, making for a comfortable stay. The view from our Room was also great, and we felt relaxed throughout our stay. There were many families with children in the building, and it was wonderful not to worry about others even if our kids got a little noisy. The staff were kind everywhere—including the amusement park and indoor park—so we felt at ease. We spent day one at the amusement park and day two at the indoor park, and our children were thrilled the whole time. Another highlight is that there are plenty of facilities you can enjoy regardless of the weather. After using the pool, it felt a bit cold on the way to the changing room, but heaters were provided, so overall it seemed well considered. The food was delicious, and there was an Onsen that our family could use together, so adults could also relax and fully enjoy the stay. We think this is a wonderful Accommodation that everyone in the family can enjoy. We would love to stay again.

    Wonderful!

We were very satisfied with this clean Hotel. The ski lessons were taught by kind instructors, and our children improved their skiing skills.

    Recommended for families with children

We stayed here with our child for the first time in decades, and it was just as great as the Reviews said. The best part was how friendly every staff member was and how excellent their service was. We were also upgraded to the new main building, so our Room was clean and very comfortable. It was our child’s birthday, so we ordered a cake for dinner to celebrate. The next morning, a staff member remembered and spoke to us about it—our child seemed truly happy. We also appreciated how quickly they cleared finished plates during meals. The restaurant not only offers commercially available baby food, but also has reclining chairs suitable even for babies who can’t sit up yet. There was also a baby bouncer in the changing area of the bath, so it seems very manageable even with children under 1 year old. As for facilities, the ski resort is right in front of the Accommodation, but it was a bit disappointing that you still need to walk a little or take a bus to reach the slopes. That said, the on-site Facility such as games and the Onsen were excellent. I visited here with my family when I was a child, so seeing photos displayed in the restaurant from around the time it first opened felt very nostalgic.

The bathroom is now very clean.

I’ve been staying here for a long time. Since the renovation, both the main building’s baths and the restaurant have become very clean. However, the restaurant gets extremely crowded, and the aisles have become narrow, which made it very difficult to manage the buffet with my grandchild. It would be helpful if the aisles were a bit wider.

There was a wide variety of enjoyable activities.

This stay was for using Snowland. It was convenient and easy to understand even for those unfamiliar with skiing or playing in the snow. The variety of facilities within the property was abundant, allowing us to enjoy ourselves even before check-in and after check-out. It's also interesting how the ways to enjoy change with each season.

    A fun Hotel for families

We stayed for a two-night, three-day ski trip. Since we were in the Annex building, transferring elevators was slightly inconvenient, but the bath was spacious with great views and very relaxing. The meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of options, which our kids looked forward to every time. We added the all-you-can-drink option, which included not only local beer but also wine, whiskey, shochu, sake, and cocktails—great value for money. The service was excellent as well; it's a Hotel we'd love to visit again.

    For Families

I made a reservation lightly for a memorial service in Nagano, but later realized this was a family-oriented hotel, which I somewhat regretted. Since I checked in late at night, the restaurant prepared a buffet selection for me. Unfortunately, fresh food seemed to be unavailable, so the main dishes were fried and ended up soggy—I wished I could have arrived earlier. The next morning at the restaurant, the crowd was overwhelming and honestly stressful. This was my own mistake in choosing; there was no fault on the hotel's part. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating—if it weren’t just my spouse and me staying, I would have liked to come back again. The shop had plenty of items that caught my eye as well. Since I reserved a spacious room, it was very comfortable overall.

    The male staff at ch...

The male staff at check-in did not notice us waiting and provided one-sided explanations without warmth. The room is new with optimal lighting and flooring, but it’s disappointing that there is only one curtain. The crab in the Onsen buffet was high quality, but the steak was tough, and the specialty dishes were underwhelming.

Due to the large number of foreign staff,

Meals are served buffet-style, and many international tourists use the facility, with some exceeding proper manners. The staff, also from various countries, add to the international atmosphere. The Room was clean as it is newly built. However, the bed was firm and did not suit my preference. Similar to foreign Hotels, staff were often unaware of matters outside their responsibilities, leading to repeated exchanges of "I will check," which honestly became tiring.

Meals are excellent, but the bath could be improved.

I decided to visit for the first time after frequently seeing commercials on TOKYO MX. The buffet was as amazing as advertised. The staff were well-trained, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However, the bath was disappointing. I had high expectations, but all the large baths were connected and had almost the same temperature throughout. It would have been better if there were separate areas like "lukewarm" or "hot" baths given the spaciousness. Additionally, I found it uncomfortable that female staff entered the men's bath area for cleaning purposes while guests are fully undressed. This made it difficult to relax, and even foreign guests seemed quite surprised by this situation in both the dressing room and bathing area. I believe there are many alternatives, such as employing local male staff from senior employment programs. If not for this issue with the bath, it would be a perfect accommodation. I sincerely hope improvements will be made so that I can consider making this my regular accommodation in future visits! Please take this into consideration!

    A Hotel Worth Its Price

The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The amenities provided in the room were Mikimoto, which was a delightful touch. However, it was inconvenient that opening the sliding door near the toilet partially blocked the entrance door. Regarding the large public bath, even though I visited around its opening time at 6:00 AM, there were about 30 people already there, and the washing area was crowded like a packed space. Children were noisy as well, so I left quickly. I cannot recommend the large public bath. As for the dining area, it was always bustling with people and lacked a calm atmosphere to enjoy meals peacefully. While you can enjoy various dishes from the buffet menu, they tasted average for their price range. Before our stay, we received a comment from the hotel stating that "we will prepare parking as close as possible," although we did not request this specifically. However, it didn’t feel particularly close; we had to walk outside in areas exposed to rain with slopes and stairs involved. This comment might raise unnecessary expectations—perhaps it's better not to mention it at all if such conditions apply. Additionally, parking guidance felt unclear; I found myself questioning if this distant location could really be correct. We also visited nearby facilities such as amusement centers and theme parks but noticed signs of aging and lack of maintenance in these places. Despite some issues mentioned above regarding facilities or services outside of our room experience itself—both accommodation quality (room) along with staff hospitality stood out positively overall! Hence overall satisfaction remains relatively high!

    Room Improvements

We stayed in the New Main Building Universal Room. Thank you for providing a comfortable space. Due to the west-facing layout, there were times when direct sunlight made it feel hot and glaring. We felt that adding sheer curtains could improve this aspect. Nonetheless, the excellent comfort of the room was very satisfying. We would love to stay again!

A Hotel with an Amusement Park for Kids to Enjoy

Visited during summer vacation. There are many places to enjoy within the Hotel, such as the pool and game corner, which is helpful for families with children. The pool was very crowded in the afternoon to evening, but it seemed less busy at night and in the morning. Meals were also crowded, but there were times when it became less busy. For desserts, long lines formed later on, so it might be better to get them earlier. The bath area had a display showing congestion levels, making it easy to choose a good time for a relaxing soak. There was also a mixed bathing area where swimsuits or bathing clothes could be worn, allowing families to enjoy together. The central building is new; however, the East Wing where we stayed felt older and had a unique smell in the corridors. That said, the Room itself was clean. There are differences in services like yukata rentals and amenities between the central building and other areas of the Hotel as well.

Stayed at the New Main Building and East Wing.

The new main building, as well as the East Wing, had very clean interiors. However, the hallways and common areas in the East Wing felt a bit dated. The meals were delightful, especially the rice. The mushroom rice was exceptional! The breakfast egg muffin was also fluffy and delicious. What concerned me more were the surrounding facilities rather than the Hotel itself. Since they are part of Ikenotaira Resort, I’d like to share some comments: At Wakuwaku Animal Kingdom, I felt sorry for how some animals were treated. In the penguin pool, there were many fish remains at the bottom of the water, making it seem like penguins didn’t want to swim and stayed on land most of the time. As for goats that appeared to be free-range—they were actually tied with ropes all day long... It might be better to keep them in an enclosure where they can move freely. Additionally, regarding Forest Amusement Park’s southern area: The forest maze has become overgrown with trees and seems unused by anyone anymore. The forest railway ride was slightly unsettling at first because it brushed against surrounding trees and plants while moving through its course. The pathway connecting Wakuwaku Animal Kingdom with other attractions had roofs which provided shelter but overall looked dirty or worn out—making walking through feel somewhat unsafe at times too! That said though staff members across amusement zones & Lakeside Park remained friendly ensuring enjoyable experiences overall! Please consider reviewing non-Hotel infrastructure aspects thoroughly once again soon

    I had a comfortable stay.

I stayed at the new main building. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was a lake-view room on the fifth floor, but I thought the view might be better from a higher floor. I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner buffets, and the most memorable dish was the bacon egg muffin in the morning—it was absolutely delicious. It was my first time experiencing a mixed-gender bath, and it was a great experience to enjoy the bath with my family while admiring the scenery. However, I noticed that children or others who are unaware of certain rules might enter without proper bathing attire due to how it's set up (and I actually saw this happen). I felt sorry for them, so perhaps clearer instructions or having staff pay closer attention could help prevent such situations in the future.

    Excellent

Stayed for one night five years ago, and my grandchildren had a great time at the amusement park. This time, we stayed for two nights in the new building that wasn't there before. The Hotel was absolutely wonderful and impressive. If I were to point out one issue, it would be the checkout time. For a Resort Hotel, extending it by just one more hour to 11:00 AM would be appreciated. As for facilities outside the Hotel, the area around the indoor pool has not been improved since five years ago and lacked a sense of cleanliness, which was disappointing. It would be nice to have an outdoor pool with a luxurious feel similar to that of the main building.

    It was a good Hotel!

Stayed one night with two friends! While other hotels seemed quiet, your Hotel was lively and full of energy! The bath and sauna were great, but the mixed bath had many families, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious (I don't usually get impressed easily). Thank you very much!

    First Shirakaba Resort

It was our first time, and the kids enjoyed Family Land. Our Room was in the East Wing, spacious and clean, which was great. We were looking forward to the buffet, but it didn't quite meet our expectations and was just average in taste.

Stay in the Main Building for the best experience!

After several decades, this time I visited with my grandchildren. We stayed in two rooms in the main building for four people, and we appreciated being given adjacent rooms, which showed thoughtful consideration. The restaurant seemed to be exclusive to the main building, and we were seated in a quiet area at the back, which was satisfying. However, breakfast was on a free-seating basis, making it slightly difficult to enjoy a relaxed meal. There are plenty of attractions that delighted the children; however, signs of aging cannot be ignored. Perhaps due to winter snow damage as well, some repairs might be necessary. The Hotel staff consisted mostly of young individuals and many foreigners as well; all of them had wonderful smiles and responded promptly and efficiently. Their excellent training made for pleasant service without any dissatisfaction throughout our stay. In the main building's hallway near the doors, there are areas where wallpaper has been damaged by carts bumping into them; it might be better to repair these soon. We look forward to planning another visit next year!

    うたたね。

It's no wonder it's so popular.

I visited on a weekday before the summer vacation. The reservation was already fully booked early on, so I thought it might be due to inbound tourists. However, upon arrival, I found that most of the guests were domestic visitors, especially families with small children. There were indeed many facilities in the area that seemed enjoyable for children. Elderly visitors also arrived by tour buses. Despite my concerns about potential overcrowding, I had a comfortable stay without any unpleasant experiences. Children seemed to enjoy the pool, and although the bath was not very large, it was never crowded and always kept clean. The buffet dishes were thoughtfully arranged to minimize waiting times during busy periods and tasted delicious. The main building had been renovated and looked very nice. While there are other facilities yet to be renovated, we didn’t use them so it wasn’t an issue for us. Overall, I felt that staff members were well-placed throughout the facility and sufficient in number, ensuring excellent service. The location, facilities, and food—all were wonderful!

    Annex Building Reviews

This time, I stayed in the Annex building. During the Reservation, only the East Wing and Annex were available, but since I wasn’t planning to fully enjoy the Hotel itself, I chose the more affordable Annex. There is a lift next to the Hotel that I rode during the day, but behind the main building was an old and rundown structure... quite amusing. Even my child hesitated upon seeing the exterior of the Annex and asked, "Are we staying there?" The weather was great that day, so we enjoyed attractions around Lake Shirakaba before checking in and entering our Room. The card key and Facility seemed new; however, there was a musty smell inside. The lights had cobwebs with insects caught in them. There were also dried rice grains on the floor likely left by previous guests. Although there was a private bath in our Room, we didn’t use it. The toilet had a bidet function which worked fine but felt outdated due to its design. It seemed like cleaning could have been more thorough overall. I used the large public bath located in the main building—it was very clean! They even provided natural water and sparkling water for guests to drink freely; this service felt thoughtful. As for meals, they were served buffet-style where you go around different stations like small shops to pick up food items yourself. Popular dishes like sashimi required waiting in line for some time—this was slightly inconvenient—but overall dining areas within the main building were clean as well. The staff members were all polite and attentive; their hospitality left a positive impression on me. I wouldn’t mind staying here again but would prefer trying out newer accommodations such as those within or closer to their main building next time instead of choosing an older option like Annex again!

    Room cleanliness

This was my first time staying here. The Annex building was older than expected, and the cleanliness was disappointing. Dust had accumulated in gaps near the table, making it feel unclean. The meals were delicious. However, considering the condition and age of the pool facility, having a separate 2-hour fee for its use makes me unlikely to use it again. For this stay—1 night in the Annex building with 2 adults and 1 child (including breakfast and dinner buffet) plus pool fees—the total cost was around 60,000 yen, which felt unsatisfactory for the price paid.

    Three-Generation Family Trip

This was our second time staying here for a three-generation family trip! We enjoyed almost all the facilities around the Hotel, including Family Land, the zoo, bowling, swimming pool, game center, and athletic activities! Although it was just a one-night, two-day stay, we felt like we didn’t have enough time to enjoy everything! The kids (kindergarten and 2nd grade) were thrilled, and even the grandparents joined in on the fun! The large public bath was spacious with a sauna available. The buffet had a wide variety of options. The new main building's Room was clean and comfortable (the kids slept on futons so there was no worry about them falling off beds). It truly became a satisfying two days for everyone! The buffet especially stood out with its kid-friendly corner where children happily picked their favorite dishes. This Hotel is perfect for families with children or three-generation family trips! Thank you very much!

    Enjoyed with children.

I stayed for two nights in the new main building. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, especially the room. The flooring felt great, and it was a space where you take off your shoes to enter, which made it even more relaxing. It was also safe and enjoyable for children. The closet space was convenient to use as well. The large public bath was spacious and very pleasant. The meals were served buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes to enjoy. Although there were some booths with lines due to many guests, the wait wasn’t long, and everything went smoothly after a short time. The amusement park is on the smaller side, so it might feel insufficient for third graders; however, it’s perfect for spending a leisurely time. I would love to stay here again!

Check-in was at 4:00 PM, but the only available breakfast time the next day was 8:45 AM. With children, having a check-out time of 10:00 AM felt like a tight schedule. We were informed that extending check-out by one hour would cost ¥2,000, but considering the limited breakfast timing, it would be appreciated if there could be more flexibility. Regarding staff interactions, while some staff members were polite and accommodating, a male staff member at the front desk and parking area responded to questions with an unpleasant attitude and tone. This was disappointing given the otherwise positive experiences with other staff members.

We stayed as a family. The meals offered a wide variety, making it hard to choose, and we were completely satisfied. The staff was very accommodating, and the cleanliness was excellent. Our children loved it too, so we would love to stay here again.
