    It became a wonderful summer memory.

    Fireworks were scheduled at Shirarahama that day, and while looking for a nearby Hotel, I happened to find availability and made a Reservation for a Room with an open-air bath. The Room was very clean and relaxing, and watching the fireworks right in front of us became a wonderful summer memory. Above all, the staff’s hospitality was outstanding. Everyone was courteous and very kind. I don’t usually write Reviews, but this was such a wonderful Hotel that it made me want to leave one. Next time, I’d like to stay in a different Room as well. I will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

    It became an unforgettable memory.

    I stayed at this Accommodation from the 15th to the 16th. The hospitality and service were outstanding, and everyone’s smiles were wonderful. The ocean is right in front of you—just a short walk away—and the view was amazing, almost like Hawaii. Dinner was delicious, and the breakfast buffet was excellent too—I loved being able to have sashimi in the morning. Next year I’d love to stay in a room with a private bath, and I will definitely come again. One suggestion: when my child goes to sleep, it would be nice if the lighting could be adjusted a bit more—like at home—not too bright and not too dark.

    I would like to stay here again.

    I made a Reservation for a 9th-floor Room with an open-air bath. The view was wonderful. We also enjoyed our meals in a private dining room, which was very relaxing. The service and hospitality were excellent, and the stay included Adventure World tickets; we visited the next day, about a 10-minute drive away. I would like to stay again.

    Ocean View in Front of Shirarahama Beach

    Right in front of Shirarahama Beach, we had a beautiful view of the sunset from our Room. The Onsen uses two different hot spring sources, and it warmed us up well both in the evening and in the morning. Lately I’ve been choosing smaller portions, so I selected the “Shirara Zen.” It was a beautifully presented set meal featuring mainly local ingredients. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. To finish, they brought us tasty seafood sushi, and we were completely full. Breakfast was also delicious, with a Japanese-style buffet. The staff and front desk team were kind—overall, it was a very good Accommodation.

    Be moved by the stunning sunset at Shirarahama Beach

    We stayed in a renovated Hamamizuisho Room. It was very spacious, and we hardly noticed the Hotel’s age inside the Room, so choosing this Room was the right decision. At check-in, you receive a free voucher for a café at Shirarahama Beach, which is a nice service—you can take a walk along Shirarahama and stop by the café for a break. We made a Reservation with a Plan that included breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, we paid an additional fee to have it served in our Room; service was smooth and appreciated. For dinner, we requested the course with spiny lobster. Since each person gets one whole lobster, everyone can choose their preferred cooking style, which was great. Both breakfast and dinner tasted excellent, and it didn’t feel overpriced for one night with two meals included. With such outstanding views, it may even feel like good value considering the location. Inside the building, there is also self-serve coffee available for free, as well as several small claw machines. We saw many families since children can enjoy them too. The sunset and the calm sea are soothing and relaxing—this place may be worth visiting at least once.

    Good value for the price.

    Our family group made a Reservation for two types of Rooms, and our family stayed in this one. The spacious Japanese-style Room felt very new, with a separate toilet and bath—perhaps recently renovated. The view was outstanding: Shirarahama Beach was right in front of us, and we could watch the sunset. For breakfast, we enjoyed a Japanese and Western buffet and were very satisfied.

    The Mirabath was bright and comfortable.

    This was my fourth stay, and for the first time I stayed in the Mirabath Room at Umi no Aya. Perhaps because the bathroom is pure white, it feels very bright, and the fresh Western-style Room made me feel like I was staying at a completely different Hotel from the open-air bath Rooms. For dinner, I also chose the adult lunch set for the first time. It was very filling, and I couldn’t finish even the side of potatoes. The one-drink ticket at a café on Shirarahama Beach was also great—I enjoyed a cocktail while looking out at the sea. As always, having an in-room bath that you can use anytime while gazing at the ocean is simply wonderful.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    Last year we stayed at a different Hotel, but by chance the proprietress was at the bus stop. When we were looking up directions, she asked, “Are you going to XX Hotel?” and kindly told us how to get there, saying, “If so, go up this hill…” My husband and I said we would definitely stay at Sanrakuso next year, and we were able to visit this year. The in-Room bath was a wonderful free-flowing hot spring. All of the staff, especially our attendant, were kind and made this an amazing trip. We had dinner in a private Room, so we felt at ease even with our 2-year-old daughter. We had a truly relaxing stay. Thank you very much. We will visit again next year.

    First-time Use

    This was my first stay at this Hotel, and I chose a Room fully equipped with ReFa amenities. The Room was very clean and well maintained, and the Facility offerings were excellent, so I had a comfortable stay. With an ocean view, the Shirahama Night Seaside Illumination spread out right in front of me, and I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Dinner (the Shirara set) was delicious across the board, and both the kids’ menu and adult menu were very satisfying. The main dish portions felt rather small, but there was a mini buffet with items like Wakayama ramen, so overall it was more than enough. The large public bath was spacious and clean, but it felt a bit lacking without an open-air bath. Since the design doesn’t let outside air in, I did notice it could feel slightly stuffy if you stayed in for a long time. Even so, with the views, food, and Room amenities among many other highlights, I think it’s a wonderful Hotel.

    Very satisfied

    We chose our destination and Accommodation because we wanted to eat Kue. Since it was my partner’s birthday, we booked a special Room with in-room dining. The Room was very spacious, and best of all, the bath in the Room was fed directly from the hot spring source, so we could enjoy the Onsen anytime—wonderful! We could see the ocean both from the Room and from the bath, and since it was sunny, the view was amazing. Summer is probably crowded, but because it was winter and there were no swimmers, Shirarahama Beach looked especially beautiful. The requested Kue hot pot was exactly as described in the Plan: served in a large pot so you can fully enjoy Kue to your heart’s content. Not only the Kue but also the vegetables and mushrooms were delicious—however, there is simply a lot of food! It’s a luxurious problem to have, but if you want to enjoy finishing with rice porridge (zosui), it might be better if there were about half as many vegetables. The udon noodles were tasty too, but honestly they’re almost unnecessary—you get extremely full. We asked for just a small amount of rice for the zosui… The sashimi served before the hot pot was also excellent. Because it was a birthday trip, we initially discussed ordering a cake as well, but I’m glad we decided against it since we wouldn’t have been able to finish it. My partner ended up lying down and falling asleep after dinner because he was so full (though he made up for it by waking up early and enjoying an empty public bath). For breakfast, compared with other places I’ve stayed at, I felt that the drink options, variety of bread, and quality of miso soup were a little limited; however, there were plenty of Japanese side dishes to go with rice overall so we were satisfied. We were still very full anyway and couldn’t eat that much in the morning… If I had one complaint: breakfast is split into two time slots, and if you’re assigned to the later one there’s hardly any time before check-out—so you can’t relax in your Room after eating. Thank you very much for your kind support regarding an issue caused by our mistake upon arrival. The plum wine was delicious. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an Accommodation in Wakayama during winter!

    Family-friendly!!

    From the outside, the Accommodation looks old, but the guest Rooms have been renovated and didn’t feel dated at all. The open-air bath in our Room with a private open-air bath was spacious, had a great view, and was very relaxing. Best of all, it’s a real Onsen, which we really appreciated. Using the large public bath with kids can be tough, so it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the Onsen slowly in our Room. Dinner was also served in a private dining room, so even if our child got bored, they could play nearby, which we were grateful for. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and was delicious. There’s also a kids’ area, and every staff member was incredibly kind—it felt like “Is this price really okay even in the off-season?!” It seems you can also buy Adventure World admission tickets at a slight discount. We’d love to stay again in summer!

    The Best Hot Spring Quality in Shirahama

    Indulge in Shirahama Onsen during the strongest and longest cold wave, warming both body and soul. This time, I truly felt that the private open-air bath in the guest room at Sanrakuso is perfect for the freezing midwinter. The Tsukumoto Bath in the large public bath warmed me up, while alternating with Fuji-no-Yu left my skin smooth. My guest room was connected to Fuji-no-Yu. I believe Sanrakuso's two types of hot spring water offer Shirahama's best quality. From check-in to check-out, I enjoyed multiple relaxing baths in my room’s onsen. I have been a repeat visitor using this accommodation as my regular stay both in summer and winter. The service and warm smiles from staff were very satisfying. Thank you very much!

    The service and Onsen were excellent.

    We stayed in a room with a private Onsen to relax with my parents, who were tired from New Year's hosting, at the end of the holiday. From the moment we checked in, we felt the warm hospitality and our expectations grew. The room was on the top floor, offering a stunning view of Shirarahama Beach from the bath. The open-air bath in the room could be enjoyed as a semi-open-air bath by opening the window or used as an indoor bath during colder seasons—very comfortable. Being able to adjust the Onsen temperature to our liking made it perfect. The abundance of amenities like bath towels and face towels was impressive, making it ideal for someone like me who loves taking multiple baths. The large public Onsen was also free-flowing and featured projection mapping showcasing Shirahama's scenery, which my elementary school-aged daughter found very enjoyable. She also loved being able to choose her own colorful yukata. Possibly for a limited time only, there was a collaboration café at Peach where we received welcome drinks such as draft beer or wine while enjoying views of Shirarahama—a delightful experience! For dinner, we were provided with a private dining space on the fifth-floor restaurant level where we could enjoy our meal leisurely as a family. The sashimi was especially fresh and delicious. Additionally, drink prices during dinner were very reasonable. Breakfast was buffet-style and everything tasted wonderful. The room itself was clean and well-maintained; even my mother—who is quite particular about cleanliness—was thoroughly satisfied. It felt great to make her happy through this trip. We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much!

    The bath with a great view is exceptional.

    This was my third stay, and I enjoyed a different type of bath each time, with another amazing view this visit. The weather was the best this time, so I watched the sunset from the open-air bath in my Room. Dinner was a combination of set meals and buffet, allowing me to enjoy rice, miso soup, salad, Wakayama ramen, and more according to my appetite. I fully enjoyed Shirarahama's changing beauty depending on the season and weather. Next time, I would like to try staying in a Room with a Mirabus.

    Close! Just over 2 hours by car from Osaka.

    It was my first visit to Shirahama in about 40 years, and it has become much easier to drive there from Osaka. The Onsen at the Hotel is spacious and well-maintained, offering two types of baths with different water qualities. As expected from Wakayama, the food is also delicious. The Hotel's point club system makes it clear why there are so many repeat guests. I was reminded that Shirahama is not just about pandas!

    Excellent location

    The location is outstanding. Shirarahama Beach is right in front. The view from the room is like a front-row seat. Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyed leisurely and deliciously at the restaurant. There are two types of Onsen, and the slightly lukewarm one was so comfortable that I could stay in it for a long time, leaving my skin smooth. The room was very clean, tidy, and to my liking. I was also impressed by the view of Shirarahama Beach from the bath in the room! I stayed soaking while watching the scenery gradually brighten at dawn.

    A Hotel Beyond Expectations

    Initially, we did not expect much due to the casual presentation, but this accommodation exceeded expectations. The lobby is simple, and guests are required to carry their own luggage to the room, similar to a Business Hotel. However, upon reaching the 8th floor via elevator, everything changes dramatically. A staff member warmly welcomed us and guided us to a special room. The in-room dining prepared by the head chef was luxurious with high-quality ingredients and an impressive menu. The room was spacious with a satisfying bath experience; even the ReFa hairdryer added comfort. The only slight disappointment was the amenities provided. The Onsen water at Shirahama is wonderfully warming and relaxing; however, it’s unfortunate that there is no open-air bath in the large public bath area. With its proximity to Shirarahama Beach and beautiful views, this accommodation offers great value for its price—definitely worth staying again!

    Good Hotel

    The facility feels a bit old, but it is well-cleaned and there are no complaints. The Onsen was excellent. It had a slightly salty touch, making it perfect for a relaxing soak. The meals, Onsen, and the kindness of the staff were all wonderful. Thank you very much!

    The staff were kind and attentive everywhere we went, which made both my father and mother very happy. The younger ones thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the sea. For our big family trip, we chose this Ryokan because it offers both Kaiseki meals and a buffet option, as the younger ones prefer buffets over Kaiseki cuisine. In the end, even my parents opted for the buffet instead of Kaiseki, and we all enjoyed a delicious meal together. The Onsen had a faint sulfur scent, which was pleasant... The showerhead seemed to be Mirable or ReFa? It was my first time using it, but I liked it. However, one issue was that I wanted my father to enjoy the Onsen too... Unfortunately, the bath in our room was too high for him with his bad legs to get into safely. It would be wonderful if there were baths equipped with handrails suitable for people who are not yet ready for wheelchairs but need some support to enter safely. If healthy enough to use them comfortably, baths with an ocean view would be absolutely perfect! My mother truly enjoyed her stay here.

    1-minute walk to the beach, accommodation with stunning views

    A few years ago in winter, I stayed for one night and was captivated by the beautiful sea right in front of the property, which made me want to visit again in summer. This time, I stayed for two nights and enjoyed two dinners with different menus that were both delicious. The Room attendants and cleaning staff were very pleasant. I also noticed many foreign staff members wearing trainee badges, but they all provided very polite service, which I found admirable. I would love to stay here again.

    The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is close to the beach, and even after checking out, we were allowed to use the outdoor showers and changing rooms, which was perfect for beachgoers! The free coffee after a bath was delicious and refreshing. I would love to stay here again!

    Room with Open-Air Bath and Bed

    This was our second time staying in a room with an open-air bath, but this time the room was smaller and disappointing compared to last time. We asked over the phone if there was a pool, and were told "yes," but it turned out to be for children. Since we provided our name during the reservation, it should have been clear whether we had children or not—this seems like negligence. The bathroom mirror was dirty, making us feel as though someone had just used it, which ruined the experience. Dinner was not tasty at all; the sashimi was especially terrible. When I made the reservation, it mentioned something about "the best cuisine for your 70th anniversary," but if this is what they mean by that, I wonder how their regular meals are. Three years ago when we stayed here during COVID-19 times, dinner exceeded expectations and left us very satisfied. This time we were hoping for a similar experience but were deeply disappointed—the sashimi didn’t even seem fresh. Breakfast was a buffet with limited options; even worse, the rice wasn’t Japanese rice but imported rice instead. Overall expectations were high because of our previous visit’s positive experience—but this stay turned out to be terrible in every aspect. Every year my spouse and I travel nearby for an overnight stay; last year we stayed at Bay Koganoi where food wasn’t great either and overpriced wine without a sommelier’s recommendation left us unimpressed (we used to run a liquor store). We’re considering where to go next year—but most likely won’t return here again. For 70,000 yen for two people—it just wasn’t worth it!

    The only downside is the lack of an open-air bath.

    We stayed in a Japanese-style room with an open-air Onsen attached during a family trip. The staff were very considerate, even for families with babies, and we had a very pleasant stay. I made the Reservation through IKYU and mistakenly booked as one child instead of noting that our baby was 0 years old and free of charge. However, after consulting in advance, they kindly refunded the difference in cash on the day. The nearby Shirarahama Beach allows fireworks, and they provided bucket rentals and took care of trash disposal, which was incredibly helpful. The large public Onsen offered two types to enjoy and was very relaxing; it would have been even better if there were an open-air bath there too! This time we booked early for a great deal, but I hope to visit again next year to experience our baby's growth every year!
