Meal Times

This was my first visit in five years. Last time, it was during COVID, so everything was very quiet. Even though I had read the Reviews and checked in around 4:00 PM, I was surprised to be told that 7:15 PM was the earliest available time. Compared to before, it felt like the Ryokan has lost some of its traditional atmosphere, which was a bit disappointing. At both breakfast and dinner, despite there being many staff members, they seemed to be wandering around, which distracted me. Also, since most guests leave after about 90 minutes anyway, I felt there was no need to specifically mention a time limit. The kids’ corner also had items adults would want as well, so I wondered if it is too separated. The baths were excellent. I will use it again.

As your previous stay was during the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that circumstances have changed significantly since then, and you may have noticed differences in the atmosphere and our operations. In particular, regarding dinner time, although you checked in around 4:00 p.m., we were only able to seat you at 7:15 p.m. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. On that day, we welcomed a large number of guests, and unfortunately had no choice but to offer a later time slot; however, we will work to improve our procedures so we can guide guests more smoothly in the future. Thank you as well for your comments regarding staff movement in the dining venue. To ensure you can enjoy your meal in a calm setting, we will review our service approach and staff conduct. We will also take your valuable feedback into consideration regarding how we inform guests of dining times and the setup of the kids’ corner as we improve our operations going forward. Even so, we are truly delighted by your kind words—“the baths were very good”—and by your intention to “stay with us again,” which is a great encouragement to all of our staff.
