    A soul-refreshing sunrise and a gourmet dining experience at a seaside Accommodation

    It was an absolutely wonderful stay. What stood out most was the beauty of the sunrise viewed from the Room. The contrast between the sea and the light, changing moment by moment, became a lifelong memory. The Room was also meticulously cleaned down to every detail, making it exceptionally spotless and reassuring. We were also completely satisfied with the meals. Not only were the dishes made with carefully selected ingredients delicious, but each piece of tableware felt like a work of art, reflecting the maker’s strong attention to detail. This is an Accommodation I would recommend to anyone seeking high quality in taste, presentation, comfort, and overall experience.

    The food is simply delicious.

    I originally stayed here for the food, so I naturally had high expectations, but it was so delicious that it far exceeded them, and I was able to fully enjoy Toyama’s seasonal flavors. The quality, portion size, and presentation were all outstanding—I couldn’t have been more satisfied. Of course, the Accommodation and service were also excellent. I’d love to return in a different season.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    A cozy yet functional and comfortable accommodation with a well-equipped room. While it would have been even better with an onsen, the multifunctional bath provided a relaxing experience. The meals were delicious, beautifully presented, and visually enjoyable. Thank you for accommodating our meal requests so kindly. The tasty dishes made us indulge in sake more than we expected. At night, we enjoyed the Moon Road under the moonlight, and during the day, we admired the stunning Tateyama Mountain Range across Toyama Bay—truly a perfect stay!

    An Auberge as Your Travel Destination

    Drawn by the high reviews on IKYU.com, we visited and were pleasantly surprised in the best way possible, resulting in a truly satisfying stay. What impressed us most was the exceptional quality of the meals. Using ingredients centered around Hokuriku specialties such as those from Himi, the combination of their high quality with the host's skilled cooking techniques created dishes that were simply irresistible. While not flashy, every dish was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious—we already miss it. The room's amenities and facilities were simple yet thoughtfully arranged with great attention to detail. Although not particularly spacious, everything including the toilet and water facilities was perfectly adequate. Unfortunately, due to poor weather on that day, we couldn't enjoy views of the Tateyama Mountain Range. However, this only made us look forward to our next visit even more—it was such a fulfilling accommodation experience. This is an accommodation we would love to return to again and again across different seasons.

    Everything was excellent!

    Attracted by the idea of seeing the mountains of Tateyama across the sea on a clear day, I decided to stay here. Unfortunately, it rained on the day of my arrival, so I couldn't enjoy the view from the sea. However, the next day was sunny, and while I couldn't see Tateyama, I was able to enjoy a beautiful ocean view and sunrise! The hotel's facilities were excellent—the room was spacious and clean, and I found great relaxation in the jacuzzi bath. Without a TV in the room, it felt refreshing to spend some quiet time for a change! The meals were beautifully presented and delicious with just the right portions; I was truly satisfied! This hotel made me want to stay again. I'd love to come back for another visit and try my luck at seeing Tateyama next time!

    A very lovely accommodation.

    Visited on the day of this year's last supermoon (Cold Moon). The view of Toyama Bay and the Tateyama Mountain Range stretching out before us was breathtaking. The stylish space, with its warm wooden accents, was incredibly comfortable. We had a lovely conversation with the hosts, which was very soothing. The beautifully presented and delicious dishes were a delight to both the eyes and palate. The use of glassware and tinware from Takaoka in Toyama added a special touch. It was a truly meaningful experience. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    We had a wonderful time!

    The view from the room was amazing, and I couldn't stop taking photos after entering. I also loved the personalities of the two owners, the food was delicious, and their explanations about the dishes were very pleasant. I'm glad I chose this accommodation.

    I stayed for one night on a solo trip. The location right in front of the sea, the clean and stylish Room, the wonderful cuisine and tableware, and the warm hospitality of the hosts—all were as amazing as I had anticipated. However, I can't help but wish to revisit with my wheelchair-user husband who stayed home this time. While I understand it may be difficult to address immediately, my only reason for rating Facility 4 stars is due to the lack of an elevator and barrier-free accessible rooms. In the future, I hope a barrier-free room can be added next door! A small step at the entrance could be managed with assistance! The happiness I experienced feels too precious to keep just for myself. Still, I'll definitely visit again even if it's just me—thank you in advance for your hospitality when that time comes! When I shared how wonderful this place was with my travel-loving friend upon returning home, they surprised me by saying they had stayed here before during its previous building era just for dining purposes!

    A Local-Loving Accommodation

    Overlooking the stunning Toyama Bay. While the fresh fish was, of course, delicious as expected, other ingredients like pork and vegetables were also carefully prepared. The dishes didn’t need to be creative cuisine, but the two appetizers were presented in an Italian or French style, which was delightful. The Room may have space limitations, but it was clean and well-maintained. Most notably, the large window was spotless and polished to perfection, offering a breathtaking view of the Tateyama Mountain Range along with the sky, sea, and mountains. Thank you very much!

    Recently, Toyama has gained attention as it was selected by The New York Times in "52 Places to Go in 2025" and is home to the highly acclaimed auberge "L'évo" in Toga Village. Inspired by this buzz, I searched for accommodation options in Toyama. I discovered "Himi Auberge HASHIMOTOYA" located in Himi, famous for its "Himi Kanburi." Although it was just three days before my stay, I was lucky to find one available room. With favorable weather forecasted, I immediately completed the reservation. Upon arrival, I was captivated by the breathtaking view of the Tateyama Mountain Range through the large windows of my room. The height of the sofa and window frame were perfectly adjusted to create a picturesque angle from eye level. The view from the bath was equally stunning. At night, I noticed that not only did the room have dimmer switches but so did the bath area; when dimmed at night, the Tateyama Mountain Range appeared illuminated under moonlight. Every piece of furniture and decor reflected meticulous attention to detail—truly a setting where you can feel elegance in everything you touch. The much-anticipated dinner featured carefully selected local ingredients prepared with great care and served on thoughtfully chosen tableware. Each dish conveyed a deep commitment to quality and craftsmanship. As we enjoyed our meal, we felt both warmth and awe filling our hearts. The young couple who own this accommodation impressed me with their dedication—it’s hard not to imagine how much effort goes into selecting ingredients and preparing such an extensive menu daily without much rest. Toyama Bay is often referred to as a giant natural fish tank; while it's famous for firefly squid in spring, white shrimp in summer, red snow crab in autumn, and yellowtail (buri) in winter—I also discovered many other incredible ingredients during this visit. My wife and I are already looking forward to returning during another season!

    A wonderful accommodation deserving 5 stars or more

    We were looking for a cozy accommodation near the sea to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found this place. After checking the official website and photos, we thought it looked wonderful, but upon visiting, it exceeded our expectations—it was such an amazing stay that we wish we could give more than 5 stars. The meals were not only delicious but also beautifully presented with thoughtful attention to detail. This has become a place we definitely want to visit again. We are truly grateful for accommodating our request regarding sensitivity to fragrances as much as possible. We will be back! Thank you so much!

    A charming accommodation with stunning views and exquisite cuisine in Himi.

    A long time ago, someone told me that the fish from Himi is incredibly delicious and that not trying it would be a loss in life. Since then, I’ve always wanted to visit. Although I had the impression it was far away and hesitated, I was captivated by the stunning views, exquisite dishes, and the smiling photo of the owner couple on this accommodation's website and made a reservation on impulse. I took a bus from Takaoka Station, and while enjoying the coastal scenery through the window, I arrived in no time. It didn’t feel far at all. The smiles of the owner couple were genuine as expected, and they gave me a warm welcome. The view from my room was beyond breathtaking—truly spectacular. Turning off the lights in my room and listening to soft music through earphones while watching the ever-changing scenery of Toyama Bay brought peace and healing to my heart. For dinner, which I had been looking forward to so much—it featured an abundance of fresh fish from Toyama Bay as rumored—an extravagant feast! Absolutely delicious!! The gentle seasoning that enhances both local vegetables' natural flavors along with fish must be thanks to the owner's skillful techniques & wisdom! Additionally (perhaps due partly because originally being historic ryokan), their collection featuring tableware gathered over generations stood out beautifully too; recent works by active artists within Toyama also complement meals visually like admiring art pieces themselves alongside colorful dishes served atop them! Dining spaces offer partitions ensuring privacy where guests can comfortably enjoy meals without worry about surroundings distractions either! Morning views equally stunningly beautiful again—the shimmering sunlight reflecting across Toyama bay left me wishing check-out extensions possible longer stays instead felt ideal here honestly speaking... Breakfast itself surprised w/ plentiful seafood options included unlimited refills locally grown rice adding luxurious touch overall experience further enhanced altogether!! Having fallen completely under its charm during first-ever visit earlier already returned second time same month now becoming repeat guest myself likely others following suit soon enough making reservations harder eventually someday foreseeable future ahead perhaps? Before such happens though plan returning once more meantime meanwhile wholeheartedly recommend Hashimotoya filled countless attractions awaiting discovery firsthand personally shared above experiences alike sure delight anyone seeking memorable stay guaranteed satisfaction assuredly indeed!!

    The best relaxing accommodation.

    The accommodation was impeccably clean, and the sounds of waves, wind, and faint insects were truly soothing for both body and mind. The meals were exceptionally refined and delicious. The staff maintained a perfect balance in their interactions, making this a flawless accommodation deserving full marks. Although it was slightly cloudy, we could see the Tateyama Mountain Range across the sea in the morning. The view of the vast sea, mountains, and small boats rowing felt like a painting through the window. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    A wonderful place you'll want to visit again and again.

    I made the reservation with high expectations for delicious food, and I was truly looking forward to the meals. The experience exceeded my imagination, and I had a wonderfully happy time. Every dish was incredibly tasty, and the plates and sake cups were beautiful and elegant. During the meal, we were seated in a semi-private dining area, and we only left our room after receiving a call, so we hardly encountered other guests. The bath was lovely as well; compared to crowded onsens that can be tiring, I preferred this clean and functional bath where I could relax at my own pace. I would love to visit again for family celebrations or during another season!

    While planning a trip to Hokuriku and searching for accommodation, I was amazed by the breathtaking view of the Sea of Japan at Hashimotoya. Staying there, I not only enjoyed the stunning scenery but also had a fulfilling trip thanks to the warm hospitality of the host and hostess. Although there was no Onsen, the meals prepared by the host, who trained in Tokyo, were exceptional—showcasing local ingredients with great care—and left me completely satisfied. Additionally, as we were the only guests that day and had exclusive use of the accommodation, our conversations with the host and hostess made for an even more meaningful experience.

    I had a truly relaxing time.

    It was a wonderful accommodation. The room was thoughtfully designed for convenience and comfort, making it easy to relax. The table by the window had the perfect height and size, making it an ideal space for workations as well. The food was absolutely delicious! With fresh ingredients, seasonal touches, and beautiful Toyama tableware, every dish reflected the chef's delicate craftsmanship and care. I could feel the love in every bite and enjoyed it all until the very end. Although I intended to drink moderately, I ended up indulging a bit more than planned. Highly recommended for those who want to escape crowds and spend quiet, relaxing time in a serene location. I'll visit again in another season!

    From the window, you can enjoy a vast sky and a calm sea resembling a lake. Although the Tateyama mountain range was obscured by clouds, the view was still breathtaking. While gazing at this scenery, I indulged in drinks and reading by the window, spending an incredibly luxurious time. The sound of warblers added to the experience, allowing me to fully immerse myself in nature. The cuisine featured an abundance of fresh seafood, including seasonal firefly squid and my favorite spring mountain vegetables—everything was absolutely delicious. The homemade desserts such as warabi mochi, strawberry milk dessert, and chocolate brownies were all delightful as well. The bedding was comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again during another season!

    Highly satisfied

    The sea stretches out before you, with the breathtaking Tateyama Mountain Range in the distance. The Room is clean, featuring a large window that doubles as a counter overlooking the ocean. Enjoying a beer while gazing at the sea filled with seagulls and the majestic Tateyama Mountains from this counter was truly exceptional. We opted for a Plan that allowed us to indulge in Toyama's crab and fresh seafood, as we had high expectations for the cuisine. Choosing this place turned out to be absolutely perfect. The freshly caught crab from the midday catch was sweet and fresh, and both the sashimi and other dishes were outstanding. This Ryokan is run by a hardworking young couple who have created an excellent experience. We’ll definitely return to enjoy more delicious seafood!
