    - The personal service, attentiveness, and hospitality are as wonderful as the mountain people of Nishiwaga. - The building uses a mix of high-end materials and cheaper ones, resulting in a structure that does not feel entirely luxurious or high-quality overall. - As this is a high-priced Onsen Ryokan, the private baths in guest rooms should also use Onsen water to provide a sense of luxury and value. - Noisy guests at the dining area can ruin an otherwise delicious meal. When a group of Chinese tourists entered, the atmosphere completely changed. More soundproof private dining rooms are needed. - Due to its focus on attracting inbound tourists with high prices, it feels less accessible for casual visits. Additionally, I felt that the experience did not match the premium pricing level.

    The accommodation offered a stunning view of Unosaki Coast. 【Room】 The view from the room was breathtaking, but the shower water pressure was extremely weak, which was frustrating. A bathrobe would have been appreciated. 【Onsen Open-Air Bath】 Both the view and water quality were excellent, providing great warmth; however, there were no towels provided in the indoor bath or washing area. The changing space was exposed to outside air, making it cold in the morning. 【Meals】 Breakfast was good, but dinner did not meet expectations. Drink prices were reasonably set. 【Facility】 Access to the onsen from guest rooms required going outside entirely. Coffee and ice cream in the lounge were complimentary, but alcohol came at an additional cost. 【Service】 The hospitality and service provided by all staff members were truly outstanding. For an accommodation priced over 60,000 yen per person per night, a certain level of comfort is expected—please forgive this critical review!

    Refreshing breeze on the hill of Oga

    A 3-day, 2-night trip starting in Aomori and ending in Akita. We stayed one night in Fukaura Town and chose this accommodation for the second night in Oga. Since it just opened this year, everything is brand new, and from this month, it also features an Onsen. We were very satisfied with our stay. We stayed in the Ocean Suite (Japanese-Western style room), but I believe other rooms would be equally satisfying. The meals offered a variety of ingredients served in small portions, allowing us to enjoy everything without feeling overwhelmed. It was very satisfying. The staff were polite and attentive while maintaining a fresh and welcoming demeanor, leaving a great impression. I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. The photo shows the view from the balcony of our room where we even saw a rainbow. The best part of an ocean view is being able to see the coastline!

    Accommodation with Stunning Scenic Views

    The meals were delicious, and the warm service left a strong impression—this was a wonderful Accommodation. We traveled by car and it was an incredibly long drive, but it was an Accommodation that made us glad we came all this way. It wasn’t cold yet, so it was fine, but since you have to use an outdoor corridor to get between the Room, the restaurant, and the Onsen, I imagine it would be tough in rain or snow. The Onsen had a nice seaside open-air bath, but changing clothes was also done outside rather than indoors. Since it was raining in the morning, we gave up and used the bath in our Room instead. It wasn’t an Onsen bath, but nigari (magnesium chloride) was provided.

    A visit-worthy destination: Oga and the Hotel

    First of all, thank you for the surprise room upgrade on the day! The stunning location on a hill overlooking Unosaki Coast was truly impressive! The milky white sulfur Onsen with its salty taste is unique to Oga Geopark. The meals were characteristic of Yamabito, featuring fish as the main dish, and I had the chance to try Mizukobu, a wild vegetable only available in autumn. It was so delicious that I bought some at a roadside station recommended by the staff on my way back! Oga Peninsula offers a compact experience of sea, mountains, history, and culture. Choosing such an amazing place for their new Hotel makes Yamabito's location a must-visit destination!

    I was satisfied as expected.

    The staff operates with a minimal number, but everyone was hospitable and pleasant. Although Akita is often associated with mountains, the meals, both dinner and breakfast, were rich in seafood and highly satisfying. I would love to visit again if possible. However, I am aware of the bear incident at your Iwate location, which might make things challenging shortly after opening.

    We had an amazing time.

    We stayed as a family of three. The location from the room was excellent, and it was clean, convenient, and very comfortable. Dinner was beautifully prepared with great attention to detail, and we enjoyed every dish with delight. Thanks to that, we also enjoyed some drinks. Breakfast featured ingredients that stimulated our appetite; although we ate a bit too much, we were extremely satisfied. The open-air bath exceeded our expectations; the faint sulfur scent in the chloride spring was perfect for an onsen enthusiast like me. Above all, we are truly grateful to the staff for creating such a wonderful experience for us. The photo taken before check-out became a cherished memory (the photography skills were professional level). This has become one of the accommodations we'd love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    A quiet and relaxing accommodation

    This time, I stayed at Yamado in Akita from Fukushima. Unfortunately, the semi-open-air bath in the room was not an onsen. The public bath was very small and had no washing area, so it was only for soaking. I wished the semi-open-air bath in the room could have been an onsen to relax more. As for meals, they were generally delicious; however, the steak was slightly tough. The room was very clean and stylishly designed. I was very satisfied with my stay.

    Accommodation to Fully Enjoy Oga

    Although it is a newly opened accommodation, the reviews were excellent, and the website looked wonderful, so I made a reservation. We stayed here on the final day of our 4-night 5-day trip to Akita, and it turned out to be a perfect ending with an amazing space and exceptional hospitality that created unforgettable memories. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were greeted by breathtaking views. The room was minimalistic but felt spacious due to its clean and modern design, which we absolutely loved. The open-air bath and private bath were both fantastic, with excellent water quality as well. Additionally, my partner surprised me with a proposal during our stay. He had sent flowers in advance to the hotel without mentioning his plan explicitly; yet they anticipated it might be for a proposal and kindly arranged for a private room along with thoughtful gestures that made us feel truly special. Thanks to this incredible experience, we now have lifelong memories of this momentous occasion. We would love to visit again for future anniversaries or celebrations! It’s hard to believe such an extraordinary accommodation exists in Tohoku's Akita—it exceeded all expectations beyond imagination! We will definitely return again someday—thank you very much!

    An accommodation dedicated to local production for local consumption

    I decided to visit the Oga Peninsula on a whim without much prior knowledge and searched for an accommodation that suited my preferences, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The meals were thoroughly focused on local production for local consumption, and I was amazed at how they managed to source such high-quality local ingredients despite being a newly opened accommodation. As someone not very knowledgeable about alcohol, I appreciated the detailed explanations of their recommended drinks. This accommodation truly showcases the charm of the Oga Peninsula in every aspect. The Onsen's water quality suited me well, and although the bath was compact, it provided a calm and relaxing experience. While it was quite a splurge for me with its considerable price tag, I felt that the service offered was worth every penny.

    Truly an accommodation of fine dining, breathtaking views, and heartfelt hospitality. Fresh fish from the rugged Sea of Japan, vegetables, fruits, and meat blessed by nature are beautifully crafted into dishes by the chef's skill and creativity. Each plate was so stunning it felt almost a shame to disturb it. Of course, the taste was absolutely exceptional. On the second evening during dinner, we had the pleasure of meeting the chef—thank you for taking the time to greet us. The "Peach Dessert" exclusive for multiple night stay guests was incredibly delicious! The breakfast on the following morning was so good that I couldn't resist having seconds of rice. The staff's perfect balance of attentiveness and friendly smiles throughout our stay brought us comfort and relaxation. When we arrived at the restaurant for meals, they guided us with a smile saying "Welcome back XX," without needing any introduction—a smooth and professional touch that left a great impression. Even when I made eye contact with someone tending to the garden outside through the large lounge windows, they gave me a kind smile and nod which warmed my heart. After checking out, during shuttle service to the station where there was some time before our train departure, they kindly offered to take us to Michi-no-Eki Ogaare instead. Thanks to their thoughtful suggestion, we were able to get all our souvenirs—thank you so much! Although traveling from Nagoya all the way to Oga is quite far away, this trip truly refreshed both my mind and body. I heard this accommodation just opened in May; please continue cherishing your spirit of hospitality forevermore!

Especially, watching the sunset from the semi-open-air bath in the Room was indescribably beautiful, allowing us to indulge in luxurious moments to our heart's content. True to its concept of "the luxury of doing nothing," just listening to the sound of waves and immersing ourselves in nature melted away all our daily fatigue. For those looking to escape everyday life and fully relax, this is the ultimate hidden retreat! The cuisine exceeded all expectations! Seasonal ingredients nurtured by Oga's sea and mountains were carefully and creatively prepared, offering a truly unique dining experience that can only be found here. In particular, dishes featuring a variety of fresh fish as their centerpiece brought out the full flavor of each ingredient, delighting all five senses. Above all, we were deeply touched by the warm and attentive hospitality from every staff member. Their meticulous care and ability to anticipate our needs showcased true professionalism.     As a fan of Iwate's Yamado, this time I visited a newly opened accommodation near the sea in Oga. The staff mentioned they had "dug a new onsen," and I was very excited to experience it. The result—truly a life-changing moment awaited me here. **Highlights:** - **Magnificent Scenery** The powerful beauty of the sea at sunset is truly captivating. - **Starry Night Sky** Sipping wine in the lobby while gazing at the star-filled sky is pure bliss. - **Newly Dug Onsen** You can feel nature's hidden treasure from this land enveloping you with its steamy warmth. - **Exquisite Cuisine** While Yamado in Iwate showcases mountain blessings on their plates, this time they perfectly expressed Akita’s bountiful seafood—a true masterpiece! - **Reunion with Staff** It was delightful to meet familiar staff from Iwate again and share enjoyable moments together. I’ve become an even bigger fan of Yamado, but now I face the luxurious dilemma: "Should I visit Iwate or Akita next?"

    We stayed as a couple, and this Ryokan is truly a paradise for fish lovers. Dinner begins with a presentation of fresh local fish displayed in a box right before your eyes. With the staff's detailed explanations, you can savor each dish while appreciating the care and attention put into it. The dishes made with Akita's local seafood were not only incredibly fresh but also showcased meticulous preparation and presentation, creating "the perfect night centered around fish." The portions were generous, so skipping lunch might be a good idea! Breakfast was also all about fish. From Akita Komachi rice served in traditional wooden containers to homemade dried fish, every dish was crafted with care—a luxurious treat for dried-fish enthusiasts. The dried fish was offered as a "specialty menu" item that could be reordered multiple times, making it hard to resist overindulging! In the guest-only lounge within the accommodation, unlimited treats like Oga salt cookies and Baba Hera ice cream are available. Additionally, you can enjoy craft sake "Ine to Agave," which is sure to delight sake lovers. The only downside was that the open-air hot spring bath with natural flowing water wasn't ready yet; however, we heard it will open after Obon season—something to look forward to on our next visit! Thank you for taking care of everything during our stay—it made our trip truly memorable!

    The vast scenery of the sky and sea visible as soon as you enter the accommodation, and the picturesque view from the room, were truly moving, raising great expectations for our stay. The room was comfortable, and the bath with added nigari provided a gentle touch on the skin for a relaxing experience. The meals were highly satisfying, featuring a variety of dishes made with fresh local fish. Just like in Nishiwaga's Yamado Inn, we were soothed by the warm smiles and heartfelt hospitality of the staff. We are looking forward to enjoying the soon-to-be-ready large public bath and private open-air Onsen.
