    Hope to visit again!

    I had the opportunity to visit Kochi for work and stayed at this accommodation. My stay coincided with both Sakamoto Ryoma's birthday celebration and the hotel's opening anniversary, making it an enjoyable experience. Not only was the hotel new and clean, but the food was also incredibly delicious. During dinner, I had the chance to watch up close as katsuo no tataki (seared bonito) was prepared, which was a delightful experience. The free drink service offered a variety of options to enjoy as well. Both breakfast and dinner were served in the dining area, where ample space between tables ensured privacy. Since I chose the latest breakfast time slot, I missed out on tasting freshly shaved katsuobushi (bonito flakes), which was a bit disappointing. This hotel is filled with love for Ryoma everywhere you look—it’s truly wonderful! Next time, I hope to revisit not for work but to fully enjoy Tosa and this hotel life again. Thank you very much!

    I fell even more in love with Kochi.

    Staying at this accommodation allowed me to deeply experience the warmth of the people in Kochi and its delicious food. I’ve grown to love Kochi even more. The accommodation was clean everywhere, the in-house wear and amenity bags were stylish, and the separate bath with fragrant bath salts provided a relaxing soak. The towels were fluffy, making my stay incredibly comfortable. The all-you-can-drink lounge was exciting, and at the restaurant, I could feel the dedication of those who prepared each dish. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious and left me deeply impressed. We stayed here to celebrate my son’s birthday, and during dinner, they took a photo for us. At checkout, we received a message card with that photo attached from the accommodation staff. The card included heartfelt messages from everyone we interacted with—the front desk staff who assisted us, those who guided us to our room, as well as restaurant staff—each reflecting on our conversations together like a collaborative note. It was my first time receiving such a thoughtful gesture; I was truly moved by it. On our way home itself, we started checking availability for another stay while planning our next visit because we already wanted to return soon. To everyone at Hotel Nansui: thank you so much! As you head into the busy year-end season ahead, please take care of yourselves while continuing to be such an amazing accommodation provider. I look forward to seeing you again!

    The meals and servic...

    The meals and service were very satisfying. Perhaps due to age, the Room could have been a bit brighter. I would prefer amenities for two uses. The room temperature and water temperature were perfect. Thank you for a wonderful time!

    It was great.

    As a new Hotel, the Facility is clean and well-maintained. Above all, the staff's kindness and attentive service are outstanding. The meals were delicious, featuring an abundance of local ingredients unique to Kochi. Unfortunately, I had to leave dinner midway due to a sudden health issue and had to cancel the main course onwards, which was disappointing. I would love to visit again if given the chance.

    Had the best time!

    I chose a Plan with dinner and breakfast included, and it was incredibly delicious and satisfying. I added a sake tasting set, but I was surprised to find that many other drinks were also available in an all-you-can-drink option. The staff were all kind and provided service with just the right balance of attentiveness. The all-inclusive experience was fantastic. I would love to visit again with family or friends!

    Highly recommended with confidence.

    The facility, services, cuisine quality, tableware, interior design, and amenities such as hair dryers are all thoughtfully curated to create a luxurious space. Similar to high-level resorts, you can relax with peace of mind. As I experienced myself, the all-inclusive stay concept seems to attract a certain number of solo travelers as well. Whether you're a fan of Ryoma Sakamoto or not particularly interested in the late Edo period history, you can enjoy a wonderful time here. Dinner is highly recommended; basic drinks including alcohol are included in the set menu, but you can also order premium-quality beverages for an additional charge (being in Kochi, the sake was particularly delightful). This is a facility that makes you want to visit again.

    About the Lounge and Guest Rooms

    The lounge is excellent, and being open 24 hours is appreciated. The Room is clean and looks new. However, it is too dark as no sunlight comes in. The bed sheets and towels were dusty.

    Accommodation with Delicious Meals

    We stayed at the accommodation on the second day of our 30th wedding anniversary trip. The staff had inquired about allergies in advance, so they kindly replaced ingredients we couldn't eat with alternative dishes, which were delicious. Every dish served was satisfying, making for an enjoyable dining experience. As it was all-inclusive, there was a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and tasty snacks—so much so that we ended up eating too much! However, the room lighting was dimmer than expected, making it difficult to read books. While I understand that the stylish accommodation prioritizes ambiance, I personally would have preferred slightly brighter lighting. Other than that, everything was perfect at this accommodation. I look forward to staying here again when visiting Kochi!

    I had a pleasant stay.

    It was a pilgrimage trip. The breakfast included Tosa Jiro egg rice, which was incredibly delicious. The rice cooked in an earthen pot was truly exceptional. Additionally, I was thrilled to have the leftover rice made into rice balls. The lounge could be used without time restrictions, and bringing items to the Room was allowed, so I enjoyed it to the fullest. I would love to stay here again when visiting Kochi. However, one minor inconvenience was that the key wasn't a card key but a traditional one, which felt slightly inconvenient (perhaps due to structural reasons...). Nevertheless, the enjoyment far outweighed this small issue, making it an amazing trip overall. Thank you very much!

    The Best Breakfast

    The breakfast with rice, salt, and bonito flakes was absolutely amazing! I can't even remember what else I ate (laughs). The 24-hour open lounge was also fantastic with its variety of drinks, snacks, and attentive restocking. The hospitality from the young women at the front desk and dining area was exceptional! The Room we used for three people was quite compact but clean and functional without any issues. If I visit Kochi again, I'll definitely come back for the breakfast!

    Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The dinner's appetizer platter was vibrant, the seared bonito had no fishy smell at all, and the dishes like chicken meatballs and Tosa Wagyu steak were incredibly delicious. Truly satisfying. For breakfast, the rice was so good that I had seconds. The Room was just the right size for two people, providing a comfortable stay. Being new, both the facility and Room were clean, which was a great plus. Its proximity to the tram station made it convenient to access Kochi Castle and Hirome Market as well.

    A bit underwhelming...

    The food was very delicious, and we enjoyed a fun time with activities like tasting local Kochi sake during dinner and the live demonstration of straw-grilled bonito. However, other aspects felt quite ordinary... The staff's voice during meal guidance was too quiet to hear clearly, there was no handwashing area in the toilet, the sink felt low for me, and I wished for smaller towels like face or hand towels in addition to bath towels. The hairdryer looked stylish but was unbalanced and hard to use. The placement of shampoo in the bathroom felt awkward, the bed height seemed lower than expected, and although it was all-inclusive, the variety of food at the bar lounge felt limited. It would have been nice to have some beverages (like tea or soda) available in the Room as well... Overall, it left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.

    It was a very homely and comfortable stay.

    My husband loves Ryoma Sakamoto, so we were interested in a Hotel located in his birthplace. Additionally, I stayed for two nights to attend a concert of my favorite artist in Kochi. Although we arrived late, the warm and kind response from the front desk staff made us feel at ease. Thanks to the inclusive service, we could relax in the lounge even with our late arrival and had a wonderful start to our trip. Since I mentioned attending the concert, the staff kindly spoke with me about it again the next day, which was heartwarming. The breakfast featuring freshly cooked rice in an earthen pot was incredibly delicious, and they even made rice balls for what I couldn’t finish eating—this made me very happy. The warm and friendly hospitality of all the staff was truly comforting, and I would love to stay here again during my next visit to Kochi!

    Accommodation That Will Make You Fall in Love with Kochi

    The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were absolutely perfect. The dishes were delightful, exciting, delicious, and allowed us to fully enjoy the flavors of Kochi. The room was equipped with a comfortable bed that erased the fatigue of our second day of travel and a clean bath where we could relax at ease. I can't wait to visit Kochi again. Of course, I will definitely stay at this accommodation again!

    Mostly satisfied, but...

    We stayed for two nights during our summer vacation. The Facility was very clean, and the Room was well-maintained, providing a comfortable and pleasant stay. The staff at check-in were polite, and the female staff member who guided us to our Room (also featured on YouTube) provided exceptional service, leaving a great impression. However, during breakfast, the serving staff forgot the final dessert. When we had to approach them to mention it, they seemed completely relaxed, which was disappointing. For a Hotel of this level, I would expect staff to consistently monitor guests' dining progress and offer gestures like "Would you like some tea?" or "How about seconds?" Unfortunately, such attentiveness was lacking. Overall satisfied with our stay but disappointed by the breakfast service on the last day; hence this rating.

    Suitable for seniors

    The entrance to the reception is a bit hard to find, and the facility explanation is insufficient. Baths are only available in the Room. The Room lighting is slightly dim, and windows are difficult to open, making it hard to see outside. Labels for shampoo and conditioner are small and hard to read for those with presbyopia. Bath towels are fluffy and highly absorbent but large and heavy. The method of using the bath plug is unclear. There are no tables or chairs, making it feel a bit cramped. The Facility is new and clean. Breakfast with egg rice and bonito flakes was delicious. Watching fireworks from the rooftop during the Yosakoi Festival Eve with free drinks and snacks was excellent. Staff members casually engage in friendly conversations with guests. Overall, it has a calm atmosphere suitable for older guests.

    The Room's interior ...

    The Room's interior design was exactly to my taste, with meticulous cleaning that made my stay extremely comfortable. There is a self-bar on the front floor where not only alcohol and snacks are available, but also a coffee grinder for an enjoyable hands-on experience. Above all, the meals were delicious—presentation and seasoning were absolutely perfect. It was a trip for just the two of us as a couple, and we felt it’s a Hotel we’d love to visit every year.

    I was looking for accommodation in the city and chose this place because of its lovely atmosphere. As seen in the photos, everything from the exterior to the room interior was beautiful, and I had a very comfortable 2-night stay. The nighttime ambiance is particularly charming. The box seats in the lounge are also appealing for relaxing moments. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend this accommodation to others.

    Overall satisfied.

    As a new Hotel, it was very clean, and the Room was spacious enough. The bathroom allowed for a relaxing soak with plenty of legroom, which was great. I only had breakfast during my stay, but it was delicious (especially the pudding made with Tosa Jiro eggs, which was rich and flavorful). However, at first glance, the variety of dishes didn’t seem extensive. It might feel insufficient for younger guests. Since this is Kochi, having even a small amount of citrus fruits would have been a nice touch. Additionally, while I understood beforehand that there wouldn’t be much of a view from the Room (and I wasn’t expecting any scenic views), I personally didn’t like that the window was frosted glass and made it impossible to see outside or check the weather. Although I’d like to visit again in the future, I hope this aspect could be improved.

    Refresh Trip

    I stayed at this accommodation because of its connection to Ryoma Sakamoto. I arrived a bit early, but they kindly allowed me to check in. Since it was all-inclusive, I left my luggage in the room and relaxed before heading to the lounge on the 7th floor, where I enjoyed plenty of local sake and beer. For dinner, various dishes made with ingredients from Kochi were served, and they were absolutely delicious. The highlight was when the head chef personally demonstrated how to sear bonito with straw fire—it was fascinating! The taste of the bonito was exceptional. Breakfast featured rice cooked in an earthen pot, which was delightful. I added salt to the rice and topped it with Tosa Jiro eggs—it tasted amazing! The dessert pudding also had a nostalgic flavor. I would love to stay here again when visiting Kochi!

    Trip for Three

    We stayed as a group of three women this time. All the staff greeted us with smiles, answered various questions, and made our stay comfortable. Two points we noticed were: The sound from the bathroom and toilet echoed into the Room, and the water flow in the sink was weak. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, featured local ingredients and dishes from Kochi, which were very delicious. The presentation was also enjoyable.     The hotel is less than a year old, so everything is sparkling clean and well-maintained. Taking the slightly dim elevator up to the 7th-floor reception was both exciting and a little nerve-wracking, but I was greeted by a bright green front desk that immediately caught my eye. The staff didn’t just handle check-in formally; they also introduced the all-inclusive services, lounge, library corner, and other facilities, encouraging me to fully enjoy what the hotel has to offer. The room was a unique blend of Japanese and Western styles with a cozy sofa bench by the window that made for an incredibly relaxing experience. What stood out most was dinner at the restaurant. It began with eight carefully prepared appetizers featuring creative cuisine from Kochi—visually stunning dishes that delighted both my eyes and palate. There was also an extensive selection of drinks that left me completely satisfied. Special thanks to the chef who demonstrated straw-grilling techniques for us! Additionally, I appreciated how attentive yet professional the staff were during dinner service—they were so friendly that I ended up staying longer than planned! I’m already looking forward to my next stay here!

    I stayed at this Hotel seeking relaxation amidst the busyness of daily life. The stylish interior, unexpectedly located in the city, immediately gave me a sense of vacation. The furnishings in the Room were excellent. The lounge offered a wide variety of drinks. Above all, I was very satisfied with the pairing wines during dinner (additional charges apply), as some dishes allowed for both red and white wine pairings, providing an ample experience. The staff's hospitality was also delightful! Although I had to check out early due to work commitments and couldn't fully relax this time, I look forward to enjoying a leisurely stay on my next visit!

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The young staff provided excellent service with great enthusiasm, leaving a very positive impression. The meals were outstanding, with creative seasoning and beautiful presentation using lovely tableware, leaving us fully satisfied. The live demonstration of straw-grilled bonito was a highlight; although I’ve had it several times in Kochi, this was the most delicious one yet. Breakfast was delightful as well, featuring Tosa Jiro chicken and Yuzu eggs—such a treat! It was unfortunate that there wasn’t an Onsen public bath available, but next time I might choose a room with a sauna or visit a nearby day-use Onsen instead.

    Thank you for the wonderful stay. The sauna layout was excellent. It had a löyly feature, a cold bath nearby, and a relaxation space in the back. The sauna-equipped room I stayed in was very convenient, clean, and satisfying. Dinner was enjoyable as well. While I expected Japanese cuisine, it came with sweet brioche and even petit fours—a surprising yet delightful course meal. Breakfast was gentle on my slightly tired stomach and delicious too. The turndown service was thorough, including not just replenishment but also cleaning. There were even chocolates placed by the bedside—such attention to detail! However, one minor concern: early in the morning for a short while, there was a faint cooking smell in the room—not noticeable from the hallway or outside—possibly from the air conditioning system? Additionally, I was recommended to gift the drip bag coffee provided in my room; however, having stayed in early April with an expiration date of April 19th meant it would expire within two weeks. For drip bag coffee gifts, it would be better if they had longer shelf lives. Other than that, it was an excellent stay overall! The friendly staff gave me such a warm send-off as well. Thank you very much!
