    I requested a quiet ...

    I requested a quiet Room on a higher floor, but was placed on the lowest floor (3rd), facing the street where Yosakoi was taking place. I was disappointed by the lack of consideration. Even though I received a call after my Reservation to confirm allergies (which was also inconvenient), I was then asked whether it would be okay to contact the kitchen, which left me confused. I called the front desk at night, but no one answered. Overall, it was quite stressful. The Room had no window, which was disappointing, but it was new and stylish and very relaxing. What I enjoyed most was dinner—the creative dishes were interesting, and local specialties such as straw-seared bonito and salt-baked beef were excellent. When I wasn’t feeling well and skipped breakfast, thank you for extending checkout by one hour.

    Use for a special occasion

    The check-in staff were very welcoming, and our stay started off on a great note! The Room was spotless, and the dinner and breakfast were so delicious they truly impressed us—making it an amazing time. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

    A clean Hotel

    The only inconvenience was the low bed. Personally, it was too low and I had trouble getting up. I found out when leaving that it can be raised slightly with an adjustment.

    A Hotel with Wonderful Hospitality in Kochi

    The Room had a relaxing modern Japanese style. There was a corner seating area, perfect for unwinding. The bathtub was spacious, and the yuzu bath additive we received filled the bath with a wonderful aroma that washed away our travel fatigue. Dinner began with beautifully presented appetizers that were a feast for the eyes, followed by a live demonstration of searing bonito over straw. I was truly moved by this performance—something you can only experience here in Tosa. It became the most delicious bonito I have ever had in my life!! They also carved the red-meat steak right in front of us; it was tender and incredibly tasty. The salt-grilled ayu and the carefully crafted dessert were excellent—we were completely satisfied. The all-you-can-drink alcohol selection also offered a wide variety. Breakfast had a Japanese touch, featuring freshly shaved bonito flakes with their rich aroma and egg over rice. The freshly cooked rice was especially good. Every single dish brought joy. The staff’s service felt perfectly balanced—not too close, not too distant—and very comfortable. Everyone greeted us with lovely, natural smiles. It was my first trip to Kochi, but I can confidently say this is the best Hotel in Tosa.

    All-inclusive offers great value.

    It was my first visit to Kochi in decades, and the city had changed a lot. Hotel Sansui has also been reborn as a clean, modern Hotel. The young staff were efficient and pleasant. The food reflected the chef’s strong attention to detail, and I was very satisfied, including the performance element. The wine selection was also excellent. At breakfast I was hoping there might be some kind of performance as well, so it was a pity I didn’t get to see the chef. The Room had a great view. The rooftop terrace also had a lovely atmosphere at night. The parking lot is a bit far away, which is tough during extreme heat. One disappointment was that Kochi Castle and Hirome Market were farther than expected. On the map it looks walkable, but it’s really more of a distance for taking the streetcar. I was also surprised that the streetcar doesn’t accept major IC cards used across The whole country such as PASMO.

    Should we promote Ryoma as a key selling point?

    The food was very delicious. However, the Hotel didn’t have any other standout features. I was expecting something like a Ryoma museum atmosphere, but there were only a dozen or so books on display. Unless you make the most of the all-you-can-drink option, it feels extremely overpriced.

    The hospitality was good. The Room was clean, but everything was low and there were no chairs, which strained my lower back. Breakfast was safe and simple, leaving me about 70% full.

    A Refined Getaway for Adults

    I had a very pleasant and luxurious stay. With its refined design and central location in Kochi, this Accommodation offers an all-inclusive experience. I was able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time. It was a Hotel that made me want to visit again.

    Highly satisfied! Great value for money. Definitely add dinner!

    Based on a Review saying you should definitely add dinner, I booked the plan with dinner. It was absolutely the right choice—amazing value for money. I was surprised that unlimited drinks at dinner were included at this price point. Every dish was delicious, and the service was excellent. In the lobby, snacks, alcohol, coffee, and more are also provided, and you can enjoy them for free. Even the Room refrigerator is free! The in-room sweets were generous as well. The Room was spacious, new, and very clean. The only downside was that there is no large public bath, but the in-room bath was roomy and satisfying. I was a bit confused at first, so sharing some info: I couldn’t find the parking lot right away and had to look around a bit. It’s next to the hospital. There is an open canal-like waterway along the street in front of the Hotel, and it has no cover, so please be careful. If you arrive at night or when visibility is poor, it may be hard to notice. Reception is also on the 7th floor. You can take the elevator directly to 7F and check in there.

    Recommended for a trip to Kochi.

    I stayed for one night on Sunday. Choosing the plan with both dinner and breakfast was absolutely the right decision. It felt almost like having the place to myself, and I enjoyed delicious food and sake. In particular, the bonito was straw-grilled right in front of me, and it was the best bonito I’ve ever had in my life! I’d love to come back again. The next day I went to Katsurahama; it’s close to the Accommodation, so it’s a great base for sightseeing.

    Dinner

    I stayed at an Accommodation with dinner included. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and everything tasted excellent. The bonito straw-searing, the salt-crusted grilled Akaushi beef, and the nigiri performance were all wonderful. I hope many local people will get to enjoy it as well.

    A wonderful dinner in a calm atmosphere

    My daughter and I stayed for one night. It was disappointing that there was no particular welcome when we arrived. The Room was small, but the stylish design made it feel less cramped. However, it was disappointing that the view and the Onsen were not as expected. Still, these were well compensated for by thoughtful touches throughout, a delicious and wonderful dinner that delighted the eyes as well, and the attentive hospitality of everyone who assisted us—these left the best impression. Honestly, I never expected to be served food of this level in Kochi, and I was truly impressed. Thank you very much.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    A well-kept Room and heartfelt meals I’m truly glad I was able to spend time in the birthplace of Ryoma Sakamoto. I would be happy to visit again.

    A First-Time Experience

    It was a wonderful Hotel, perfect for a small luxury stay. It was my first time seeing bonito tataki prepared right in front of me, and eating it freshly made—it was incredibly delicious. The other dishes were also very tasty.

    You can relax and unwind.

    With only a few rooms, it was quiet and not crowded, which was great. However, there were no Japanese signs, so some things were hard to understand. The free-drink lounge was available all day, so we could relax there after coming back from outside. The freshly cooked rice at breakfast was very delicious.

    Great value for money!

    This was my first stay. As it has been renovated, both the Room and the bath were very clean. All drinks in the refrigerator were free. All staff were polite and provided pleasant service. Above all, the quality of the meals was excellent, from the tasteful tableware to the dishes themselves and their wonderful flavors—I was completely satisfied. Since my Accommodation the previous day left a disappointing impression, I’m glad I stayed here for my second night. If I have the chance, I definitely want to stay here again next time. Considering the accommodation cost, it’s rare to find a place with such great value for money. It was an Accommodation I would recommend.

    A stylish Hotel located at the birthplace of Ryoma Sakamoto

    Conveniently located near a Tosaden streetcar stop, it was very handy for sightseeing at places like Hirome Market, Harimayabashi Bridge, and Kochi Castle, though the Hotel is tucked away on a back street so it took me a little while to find it. The Room had a very calm atmosphere and I was able to relax well, but since the design prioritizes style and the seating is low, I thought having a chair would be nice. The locally made juices in the Room refrigerator—such as Buntan Lemon, Tosa Mikapon, and Yuzu Cider—were very easy to drink after a bath. I also enjoyed Kochi specialties in the bar lounge such as Mire Biscuit and Riple drinks. I booked a breakfast-only Plan, but the egg-over-rice made with Kochi’s Tosa Jiro eggs and Onomi rice (Hinohikari), topped with rare Ginzo Salt and freshly shaved fluffy bonito flakes from Takeuchi Shoten, was an excellent combination—I enjoyed it so much I went back for seconds. The view from the front desk was great as well, and thank you for taking a commemorative photo for me at check-out.

    Everything was very ...

    Everything was very clean, and everyone who assisted us was kind and courteous. We are truly grateful. If possible, I would be happy to see a few improvements to the amenities and guest room (sorry this is just my personal preference). I would like a small hand towel for drying hands. Also, I would prefer separate slippers for the toilet. Recently, many hotels no longer provide toilet slippers; I would appreciate it if you could provide one additional pair of disposable slippers. It feels unhygienic when all guests walk around indoors wearing the same slippers.

    I could tell the staff were working very hard, but overall it felt like a “business Ryokan.” A relaxing Room and bath area are important.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    This was my first time staying here. It was a wonderful Hotel! As others have mentioned, the staff are truly outstanding! The food was delicious, and we had a great time (the sweets were amazing too!). We would definitely love to stay again!

    A welcoming Accommodation with exceptional hospitality

    I visit Kochi a few times a year on business. I stayed here for the first time last October and had a truly wonderful time. I knew I wanted to come back, and six months later I was able to make it happen. The calm, quiet atmosphere, the lounge, and the Room are all very comfortable—but what I love most is the restaurant. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed every course from start to finish. Drinks are all-inclusive, and the optional wine pairing (for an additional fee) was excellent as well. More than anything, though, the staff are outstanding. They even remembered my previous visit, and chatted with me in such a warm way while keeping just the right sense of distance. At breakfast, when they kindly made onigiri from the rice left in the pot—and I mentioned that I had work in the afternoon—they surprised me with a small thoughtful touch. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that onigiri. Not just one person—everyone here works with such natural smiles and genuinely seems to enjoy what they do. It’s wonderful. I’ll be back again around my next business trip. Thank you very much!

    Highly satisfied. Highly recommended!

    Although my plans were canceled due to rain and I arrived earlier than the check-in time, you kindly accommodated me, for which I’m very grateful. Throughout my stay, everyone provided wonderful service, and I was able to spend a truly comfortable time. The lounge also had a great variety of alcoholic drinks—I ended up drinking too much (lol). The meals were delicious as well, and the bonito-flake rice ball you made from the rice I couldn’t finish at breakfast was amazing. I also really like the red tote bag that came with the amenities and that guests are allowed to take home. If I have a chance to visit Kochi again, this is an Accommodation I’d love to stay at.

    We had a wonderful time.

    We stayed in a suite. Although there was no view, the Room was dark and calming with a “stay-in” theme, and thanks to the spacious layout and easy flow, it didn’t feel cramped at all. Not only were the building and Facilities new, but the concept was clearly defined, making it an enjoyable Accommodation to stay at. As others have mentioned, the route from the entrance to reception is a bit winding, so that’s something to keep in mind. For those who arrive tired and don’t want to go out shopping for supplies after getting to the Hotel, the all-inclusive plan is definitely a great option.

    I had a luxurious stay.

    I had a truly luxurious time. The guest room was stylish, though it was a shame that no outside light came in. The service was very pleasant. I knew in advance, but it was disappointing that there is no large public bath. The Facility offerings were great—free drinks including alcohol were available. However, since I stayed on a Monday, some services were not available. The meals were absolutely delicious—wonderful cuisine. Overall, I’m glad I stayed.

    The lounge on the 7th floor is impressive.

    I stayed for two nights. The location is a bit away from the city center, so it’s not very convenient for going out to eat, but the Hotel seems to have been renovated and the interior felt new. I needed to work in my Room, but the desk was small, so I felt it wasn’t ideal for business use.

    Hope to visit again!

    I had the opportunity to visit Kochi for work and stayed at this accommodation. My stay coincided with both Sakamoto Ryoma's birthday celebration and the hotel's opening anniversary, making it an enjoyable experience. Not only was the hotel new and clean, but the food was also incredibly delicious. During dinner, I had the chance to watch up close as katsuo no tataki (seared bonito) was prepared, which was a delightful experience. The free drink service offered a variety of options to enjoy as well. Both breakfast and dinner were served in the dining area, where ample space between tables ensured privacy. Since I chose the latest breakfast time slot, I missed out on tasting freshly shaved katsuobushi (bonito flakes), which was a bit disappointing. This hotel is filled with love for Ryoma everywhere you look—it’s truly wonderful! Next time, I hope to revisit not for work but to fully enjoy Tosa and this hotel life again. Thank you very much!

    I fell even more in love with Kochi.

    Staying at this accommodation allowed me to deeply experience the warmth of the people in Kochi and its delicious food. I’ve grown to love Kochi even more. The accommodation was clean everywhere, the in-house wear and amenity bags were stylish, and the separate bath with fragrant bath salts provided a relaxing soak. The towels were fluffy, making my stay incredibly comfortable. The all-you-can-drink lounge was exciting, and at the restaurant, I could feel the dedication of those who prepared each dish. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious and left me deeply impressed. We stayed here to celebrate my son’s birthday, and during dinner, they took a photo for us. At checkout, we received a message card with that photo attached from the accommodation staff. The card included heartfelt messages from everyone we interacted with—the front desk staff who assisted us, those who guided us to our room, as well as restaurant staff—each reflecting on our conversations together like a collaborative note. It was my first time receiving such a thoughtful gesture; I was truly moved by it. On our way home itself, we started checking availability for another stay while planning our next visit because we already wanted to return soon. To everyone at Hotel Nansui: thank you so much! As you head into the busy year-end season ahead, please take care of yourselves while continuing to be such an amazing accommodation provider. I look forward to seeing you again!

    The meals and servic...

    The meals and service were very satisfying. Perhaps due to age, the Room could have been a bit brighter. I would prefer amenities for two uses. The room temperature and water temperature were perfect. Thank you for a wonderful time!
