It was an amazing Stays that exceeded my imagination. I believe it is one of the few places where the original charm has been further enhanced by becoming a Property, from the level of utilizing and preserving historical places and buildings. The Room was lovely with some sand walls left intact, and the bed space designed with tatami was comfortable. I could spend time quietly as if time had stopped while gazing at the inner garden between the open-air bath in the Room. The dining area, while part of the Property, was an independent and vibrant space. The professionalism of the chefs and the dishes were both wonderful. The interior, as well as the views from various parts of the Property, were like natural paintings and were very soothing. In a time when "sophisticated luxury Hotels or Ryokans in good locations" started to feel the same, this Property had no sense of déjà vu in every aspect. The staff were warm and friendly, and I was delighted to encounter such a Stays after a long time. I definitely want to come back again. Thank you very much.

    It was wonderful.

It was my first stay in Kurashiki, and the staff were all kind, making it a very pleasant memory. I would like to stay with my family next time.

A property that converses with materials across time.

The other day, I stayed at the culinary Stays "Yoruyoru" in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, which I had been eagerly awaiting to open. Although it is located in the center of the Bikan district, its quiet presence slightly away from the hustle and bustle gives it the charm of a hidden retreat. The exterior, having been renovated from a historical building over 100 years old, harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding old townscape, enveloped in a serene atmosphere as if time has stopped. During my stay, I felt that the charm of this Property lies in experiencing the materials nurtured by the climate of Kurashiki and the craftsmanship that breathes life into them. The rope curtain at the entrance welcoming guests, the trays used in the Room, and the signs in the guest rooms and BAR. Not only the obvious dishes and glasses, but everything you casually pick up or see has a rich story. Listening to the words spoken by the staff, I felt I spent a special moment reflecting on the time woven by this land. It's not just about seeing beautiful scenery or design, but knowing the history of the land with all five senses. The scent of rush grass, the warmth of wood, the texture of earth, and the sparkle of glass. While I greatly enjoyed strolling through the Bikan district, staying at Yoruyoru allowed me to enjoy the history and culture of Kurashiki, and the beauty of the crafts that breathe there, more deeply. I believe "Yoruyoru" is not just a Property, but a place where you can fully experience the charm of Kurashiki. Thank you very much for this opportunity.

    The First Time at Yoruya

I usually live in another prefecture and occasionally travel to different regions, but I was able to relax the most at the Ryokan I recently stayed at. The interior design felt close to everyday life, and it seemed to embody the ideal of wanting to spend time in a shared space. The design, which was thoughtfully considered down to the smallest details, was very impressive while still being calming. I will visit again.

We stayed at the Yoruya as a couple. The first thing that caught our eye was the sophisticated design and meticulous attention to detail throughout the Stays. Every piece of furniture and decoration in the Room was carefully selected, creating a space that felt extraordinary. The amenities were particularly original and very stylishly designed. Additionally, the view of the garden from the window was beautiful, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely time in the tranquility with soft light streaming in. The hospitality of the staff was also heartwarming, thoroughly considering the comfort of the guests staying. Not only were we able to refresh both body and mind, but it was also a wonderful place to fully enjoy the charm of Kurashiki.

A culinary accommodation perfect for the nights in the historic city of Kurashiki

The accommodation, being newly opened, was impeccably maintained throughout, making our stay very pleasant. While the building's layout was somewhat intricate, it added to the experience of exploring Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter before arriving at the accommodation. It felt as though we had wandered into a foreign town while still inside. Both dinner and breakfast were truly worthy of being called "cuisine-focused accommodation." The delicate flavors of the broth that enhanced the ingredients and even the carefully selected condiments conveyed a thoughtful intention to let guests fully enjoy each moment. For us in our 40s and younger generation, staying at an accommodation in this price range is not an easy decision. However, my wife and I agreed that saving up diligently to visit once a year for such a memorable experience would be worthwhile. This time, we walked from Kurashiki Station through shopping streets and explored the Bikan Historical Quarter on our way to your establishment. The lively atmosphere of the shopping streets gradually transitioned into a more serene ambiance as we approached Bikan Historical Quarter. When we crossed into Higashi-machi where your accommodation is located, it felt like stepping into another world—a hidden alleyway reminiscent of Kyoto’s charm. Up until then, interactions with others were minimal as expected in tourist areas. However, upon entering Higashi-machi, exchanging greetings with passersby came naturally. It seemed like this area carried an enduring sense of refinement from pre-war times to today—a reflection of those who live there—and made us feel like respectful visitors rather than mere tourists. This unique experience truly stirred our sense of travel. Thank you very much!

A property with a perfect balance of Japanese and modern styles.

I was curious about this newly opened Stays, so I visited Kurashiki for the first time. The property is a renovated 110-year-old cultural asset, and it was wonderful to see the beams, pillars, windows, and lights from that time preserved throughout. There was also a modern touch within, which was amazing. The breakfast was very delicious, and next time I would like to try the dinner as well. It's a property I would like to visit again.
