    Second Visit

    With some unexpected free time, we decided we wanted to visit SHINRA YORO VALLEY again, which we stayed at last September. We wondered if there were any vacancies—and there was still one Room left on my top-recommended riverside, so we booked immediately. I felt like using the sauna, so although it was an additional charge, we reserved the private open-air bath with sauna for 90 minutes, relaxed and worked up a good sweat, then enjoyed a drink in the lounge afterward. Dinner was also great—we enjoyed drinks and had a wonderful evening. Back in the Room, we had another drink while soaking in the open-air bath… It was a truly healing day for both body and mind. Next time, I’d like to make proper time for a Multiple Night Stay and would love to visit again.

    It was fulfilling.

    Stayed one night in the Riverside Room with my husband. It was a long-awaited trip, and we splurged a little, but the room exceeded our expectations—beautiful and clean. The amenities and facilities were impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made our stay very comfortable. It was an extremely cold day, so it would have been even better if the space between the shower in the room and the open-air bath had been warmer. The meals were excellent, especially the breakfast bento served in-room with hot pork miso soup—it was fantastic! The lounge offered a great selection of complimentary drinks and snacks that went beyond just simple dry items. We wanted to enjoy it more leisurely but were too full from dinner as there was so much food (laughs). Overall, it was an incredibly satisfying stay. A rare accommodation where you can enjoy rich nature and onsen close to the city center!

    Not qualified as a luxury Ryokan.

    I was a bit worried about visiting Yoro Valley in winter, but the Room and the view were satisfying. It must be stunning during cherry blossom season or autumn foliage. However, one major issue overshadowed everything—the terrible quality of the meals. The appetizers seemed like they were just taken from a supermarket deli section, and the sashimi tasted so bad I had to spit it out. My wife ended up vomiting multiple times after returning to our Room and is now only able to eat porridge due to stomach pain. None of the dishes showed any sign of professional preparation. I believe a fundamental review is necessary.

    Highly Satisfied

    The price was on the higher side, but considering the quality of the facility, service, and food, it was perfect. I would love to stay again. It was a bit disappointing that there were no nearby tourist spots, but the facility was more than enough for relaxing in the room.

    It was a satisfying accommodation.

    The entire facility has been renovated, which led to some parts being a bit unclear, but my stay was very comfortable. The Onsen in the room was absolutely wonderful with excellent water quality, and I used it multiple times. The bed was extremely comfortable; however, the placement of the TV and the lack of mirrors in the room were a bit disappointing. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared with great care and were incredibly delicious. However, I felt that fewer dishes might be sufficient. In particular, it would be nice to feel more individuality from the person preparing the sashimi.

    Stayed during Christmas.

    I stayed at this accommodation during Christmas, which I had been curious about for a while. The private open-air bath in the room was so spacious that, although it seemed smaller in photos compared to others, it turned out to be the largest I've ever experienced. It was roomy enough for two adults and left a great impression. You can choose your free private open-air bath time upon arrival on a first-come, first-served basis. The lounge offers complimentary alcohol, soft drinks, and light snacks. Since it was Christmas, I requested a special plate and was delighted with the adorable one they prepared for me. If I had to point out something, there were cobwebs on the table and chairs near the shower area and private open-air bath. Also, considering it's a high-end accommodation, I felt that service from foreign staff could be improved. The Japanese staff provided more refined hospitality that matched the luxurious atmosphere better. The distance from the front desk to my room required multiple cart rides; however, they always greeted me with smiles during pick-ups and drop-offs—thank you! The meals were delicious as well. I'm now interested in trying other locations within their group. It truly made for a wonderful Christmas experience!

    I stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday. First, the overall concept of the accommodation is very clear, with a modern and sophisticated atmosphere that is consistently maintained throughout. It feels like a highly refined accommodation that rivals even some famous resorts in Karuizawa. The architecture and spatial design are particularly impressive, giving an overall sense of harmony. The guest rooms are exceptionally spacious with excellent layout design, ensuring a stress-free stay. The location facing the valley is also wonderful, offering open views while maintaining privacy, allowing for quiet and relaxing moments. The onsen was truly remarkable, with its high-quality water providing a deeply rejuvenating experience for both body and mind. Additionally, the staff's hospitality left a strong impression. Their natural and sincere approach felt warm and comfortable without being overly formal or staged. Unlike many "concept-driven" accommodations these days that can feel tense or rigid, this place offered a relaxed environment where I could feel at ease throughout my stay. On the other hand, one aspect I found slightly disappointing was the dining experience. While it featured modern creative touches based on Japanese cuisine that aligned well with the overall concept of the accommodation, I felt that flavors were somewhat lacking due to an extreme reduction in oil content. Even in main dishes, there was a slight absence of richness or depth in flavor. While I understand their intention to highlight the natural taste of ingredients, it resulted in an impression that leaned towards being overly light—almost reminiscent of "medical meals." Given how well-crafted their culinary direction already is as cuisine itself, adding just another layer of depth or satisfaction to flavors could elevate this accommodation’s overall quality even further. In summary, this is an exceptionally refined accommodation offering high-quality experiences in terms of architecture, space design, and service. With slight improvements to its dining offerings' flavor profile added into consideration—it has all potential becoming truly unparalleled destination worth revisiting wholeheartedly!

    Relaxing Accommodation

    I was initially a bit apprehensive about my stay, as I had not been impressed with the service at another accommodation in the same group before. However, during my stay, I was struck by how friendly, dedicated, and pleasant all the staff members were. The room and facilities showed signs of renovation but were comfortable throughout my stay. The private onsen in the room was particularly wonderful; the quality of the water was excellent, and being able to use it at any time—even for a foot bath—felt incredibly luxurious and soothing. The bed was exceptionally comfortable! On the other hand, I found it slightly disappointing that there were limited mirrors and that the TV placement in the room could have been better. Both dinner and breakfast were carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. While my husband felt that the main dish could have had more impact, I found everything to be perfectly satisfying. Additionally, as this accommodation does not allow children, we greatly appreciated being able to enjoy a quiet environment for a peaceful experience. Although it is not what one might call a luxury accommodation, it provided an incredibly relaxing atmosphere where both body and mind felt rejuvenated—a truly wonderful place to stay. Above all else, I am deeply grateful to all of the staff who warmly welcomed us with such care throughout our visit; thanks to them, we enjoyed a safe and comfortable time here from start to finish!

    Refresh in the Valley

    I had a wonderful time. I often stay at accommodations in the same or higher price range, but this was the best experience I've ever had. The food was delicious, and the room was clean. It was excellent overall, but I think it could be even better with the following improvements: 1. It would be nice to have ice cream available in private baths or lounges. 2. There were times when the pool was full, so it would be helpful to know the congestion status from the room or other areas. 3. The shuttle service from the station involved shared seating, and being in the back row felt very cramped.

    We had a fulfilling time.

    It was my first stay, but I had a very fulfilling time. The free drinks, complimentary snacks, pool, open-air bath, excellent customer service, and the quality of the meals were all outstanding. I had a highly satisfying stay in every aspect. I would love to have a multiple night stay next time. I hope to visit again during the fresh green season. Thank you very much!

    A slightly critical review, but...

    Overall, it was good, but I noticed a few points that I hope will be improved in the future, so I am leaving this review. In December, even in Chiba, it gets cold, so I believe winter-specific room wear is necessary. It was surprising that there were no yukatas or sleepwear provided and only one set of all-season room wear available at the facility. Additionally, during a time when COVID-19 and influenza are still prevalent, there were no masks worn during meals. Furthermore, there was a loud sneeze while serving food and repeated touching of an earphone and hair during explanations about the dishes. This same hand was then used to point at the food while explaining it, which felt unhygienic. Although it's understandable as the facility has just recently opened, it was disappointing. I sincerely hope these issues will be improved in the future.

    We enjoyed a very relaxing time in a room with an Onsen while admiring the autumn leaves. The facility was clean, and the service was excellent. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be the lack of an outlet or USB port near the bedside.

    It is better to think carefully before making a Reservation.

    The location is excellent. The view is as shown in the photos, which will likely attract many people. I was drawn to it as well. If that's all you care about, I recommend it. However, be cautious of aspects that cannot be conveyed through photos and think carefully before making a Reservation. The foreign staff were not fluent in Japanese but worked diligently, which left a positive impression. On the other hand, the Japanese staff who drove the cart and guided us to our Room were very disappointing. Despite bumps along the way, they did not slow down or warn us about large jolts during the ride. When explaining how to use the sauna and encountering an unfamiliar remote control (see photo), I asked for help but was told "I don't know," ending there (this is not exaggerated). Even after trying myself without success and asking at reception again, where I saw the same person from earlier who showed no interest in helping further—eventually a foreign staff member explained that it was an LTECH dimmer remote control inside the sauna. During dinner service handled by Japanese staff again proved disappointing: requests forgotten leading disappointment; despite being seated within private partitioned dining space allowing pace monitoring—the serving speed felt slow overall while dishes like fish en papillote & meat arrived lukewarm akin-to-room-service quality forcing patience against leaving mid-meal visibly frustrated instead. We regret choosing this place hoping relaxation post-work fatigue recovery hence advise careful consideration completing Reservations here accordingly!

    A great accommodation for a relaxing stay

    I discovered this accommodation on Instagram and decided to visit. Since it’s still new, everything was clean, and the staff provided excellent service. As it is an adults-only accommodation, I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing time. The black hot spring water in the room felt great on my skin and was very soothing. It would have been perfect if the pool also had black hot spring water. The meals, as well as the drinks and snacks in the lobby, were all just right, allowing me to enjoy myself all day while feeling completely satisfied. Next time, I’d like to try a different type of room!

    Thank you for hosting us on our anniversary trip.

    We had the pleasure of staying here on short notice as the room we wanted for our anniversary trip became available. The room, overlooking a valley, was designed to bring nature into view from every corner, and it was absolutely perfect. The private open-air onsen with black hot spring water offered a sense of openness and relaxation that we thoroughly enjoyed. Meals featured seasonal ingredients beautifully presented, offering both visual and culinary delight—everything was incredibly delicious. (We won't upload photos of the dishes so you can experience the same surprise and joy during your visit.) Every staff member we interacted with provided courteous service, leaving a positive impression. There were many other delightful moments during our stay... Please visit this accommodation to experience them yourself! Although it was slightly early for autumn foliage, sitting on the sofa watching birds fly across the valley or admiring reflections of trees in the water feature from a bench near the lobby allowed us to savor an extraordinary escape from daily life. This is an accommodation we'd love to revisit in another season!

    Room by the River

    I stayed in a Room by the river. The sound of the river and birds, along with the open-air bath in the Room, were wonderful. The combination of pool and open-air bath, "Puro," was convenient with cute swimsuits available in various sizes. The lounge offered free drinks, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, which I enjoyed. The food was also delicious. Thank you very much!

    The Ultimate Relaxation Getaway!

    We are a couple in our 50s. We discovered this accommodation on YouTube and were instantly captivated. To summarize, the ryokan was clean with beautiful interiors, making our stay truly delightful! The onsen was relaxing, leaving our skin smooth and rejuvenating our tired bodies. The private open-air bath was also enjoyable! However, it would have been nice if the view from the private bath differed from that of the room for more variety. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely exquisite! The stylish presentation made them a feast for the eyes as well. All staff members greeted us with warm smiles, making our stay even more pleasant. A special mention to the foreign staff member who served us during dinner—their smile was exceptional! Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience. One night felt too short, so we hope to stay for two nights next time!

    A hotel nestled in Yoro Valley with beautiful rooms surrounded by greenery. There was no interaction with other guests, and the meals served in a private lounge were all delicious. Rice was freshly cooked on the spot. Thank you for providing shuttle service from Yoro Valley Station by car.

    Excellent service

    I requested a Shuttle Service to the station, and the driver was polite and kind. I am grateful that they accommodated my sudden change of plans for the return trip as well. The staff who served dinner was from overseas, but their actions and words were incredibly polite, which impressed me. Although the weather was unfortunate and I couldn't go sightseeing, everyone welcomed us with smiles, making it a truly relaxing stay. Dinner was elaborate and enjoyable. Each Room has its own private bath, so having a heated pool instead of a large public bath is an excellent idea. I would love to visit again!

    The freshness was excellent.

    The Hotel was new and had a clean atmosphere. The sauna was a great addition! The Onsen seemed slightly colored. The riverside Room had a nice view and felt pleasant. The meals looked good, but something seemed lacking for a luxury Hotel. I understand it might be due to the rising cost of ingredients.

    Black hot spring - Excellent

    I had an incredibly relaxing stay, comparable to the experience at Tateyama Shinra. The black hot spring water was amazing. The cuisine was outstanding, and I deeply appreciate the thoughtful accommodations made for my wife, who has many food preferences. Being along a mountain stream, some roads were narrow and difficult for passing cars. It would be helpful if recommended routes from the highway could be provided on your website. We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again!

    Stunning views

    I stayed in the Riverside Villa building. It seems newly built, as it was very clean and modern. The view from the room was nice, but the view from the open-air bath was truly exceptional—a stunning riverside scene filled with refreshing negative ions (laughs). Dinner was served in a private room, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time without worrying about others. For breakfast, we had the option of dining at the restaurant or having it delivered to our room; we chose the latter. Breakfast was placed in a box by our door while we rested, which allowed us to enjoy a leisurely morning without any rush. However, I did notice some concerns: an empty can left in one of the open-air bath facilities remained there for two days, and dust had accumulated on the backrest of our room's sofa. I would appreciate more attention to cleaning details since this is not a ryokan priced at 10,000–20,000 yen per night. That aside, overall it was an accommodation I would like to revisit!

    Private Open-Air Bath

    The room's private bath is completely visible from the lounge and the walking space in front, which was quite uncomfortable. Despite having a private open-air bath, it required so much caution that it wasn't relaxing at all. Other aspects were satisfactory. The meals were delicious, and there were no issues with drink or alcohol service. However, I might not consider visiting again.

    It was the best vacation ever.

    The atmosphere of the Room was great, and the hospitality was excellent. My wife mentioned she would like to stay here once a year, but since it comes at a reasonable price, I will work hard to make it happen.

    The meals were very delicious.

    We stayed as a couple this time. Before our stay, we exchanged several emails for inquiries, but the responses felt very impersonal and cold. The explanations were insufficient, and we had to ask detailed questions to get proper answers, which made us feel uneasy about the hospitality even before our stay. The emails might have been automated replies using AI systems, but for an accommodation with a relatively high price point, it would be better to have warm and attentive responses from real staff members. When we actually visited, the service was not particularly outstanding but was generally fine without any issues. However, the staff member who assisted us during check-in lacked a smile and spoke in a low voice; some training in this area might be beneficial. In the lobby, snacks and drinks were available for guests to take freely; however, the quantity provided was very limited—enough for only about two groups of guests before running out quickly. Additionally, while glasses were provided for drinks, there weren’t enough of them at times when needed. This could use some improvement. The room was clean with a river flowing beneath the balcony. The private open-air bath attached to our room was spacious and excellent. Amenities were well-stocked as well. We couldn’t hear any noise from neighboring rooms at all and enjoyed a quiet stay. Meals were beautifully presented and delicious overall! The freshly cooked rice served at breakfast was especially delightful—we wished we could finish it all but felt bad leaving some due to being light eaters as a couple. We were truly satisfied with the meals—thank you very much!

    Everything was absolutely perfect. The lounge offers unlimited drinks, and alcohol is available at night. For 5000 yen, you can enjoy a private sauna, which was truly relaxing! Meals were served in private rooms with a great atmosphere. The view from the pool was stunning and very soothing. The Room had an open-air bath with black hot spring water that made my skin smooth. The service was excellent, everything was very clean, and there’s nothing to complain about. I would definitely recommend it to my friends!

    The view from the Room was soothing.

    Although there were some insects due to the summer season, insect repellents were provided, making it hardly noticeable. The hospitality from arrival to departure was exceptionally polite, allowing for a very comfortable stay. If I had to point out anything: - The sauna was set at a high temperature of 90°C, which made my ears hurt and forced me to leave early. - It would be nice if there were buckets available for rinsing before entering the open-air bath. - One complimentary bottled water was already opened and slightly consumed (this was replaced promptly the next morning). - During dinner, the rice seemed undercooked due to insufficient water; however, this issue was quickly resolved by the staff without affecting our meal. It even became a lighthearted story we could laugh about together! I would definitely love to stay here again!

    Premium Riverside Room

    I stayed in the Premium River Scape Room with a sauna and cold bath. The room had an amazing riverside view, and both the facility and layout were excellent. The meals were just the right amount for us, and we were very satisfied with the taste. We appreciated thoughtful touches like making rice balls from leftover corn rice. In the lounge at the lobby, we enjoyed drinks and snacks quite a lot, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The private bath and pool offered a nice change of pace from the bath in our room. Since riverside rooms are located away from the lobby on a slope, we appreciated being transported by cart shuttle service. Among all accommodations I’ve recently visited, this hotel was by far my favorite. I definitely want to visit again! Next time, I’d like to stay for 2 or 3 nights to fully enjoy all of their baths at leisure.
