    Even though it was a same-day Reservation.

    Thank you for your heartfelt hospitality, even though we made a same-day Reservation before noon. The Accommodation was clean throughout, and the Onsen was very relaxing. Also, we didn’t know about the pool before arriving, so we really appreciated that rental swimsuits were available. The meals were delicious, and I think this Ryokan exceeded our expectations. The only downside was a slight odor in the Room and the bedding feeling a bit damp—perhaps unavoidable since it’s by the river. It has become my wife’s favorite Accommodation, so we will almost certainly return.

    Wonderful.

    This was my third stay. I’m very satisfied every time. Everything is wonderful, but the staff’s warm, smiling service during meals is especially pleasant. They are very attentive. I think this Hotel offers more than its price.

    We were truly impressed by the outstanding hospitality in every way!

    While looking for a nearby Onsen Ryokan to visit Dorepre Rose Garden, we found this wonderful Ryokan with an open-air bath and made a Reservation for the Comfort type at SHINRA YORO VALLEY. It was only one night, but the hospitality was flawless, and my wife and I are already talking about coming back in another season. The cuisine was highly creative and delicious—truly enjoyable with all five senses—and we were especially satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. Although our attendant was a foreign staff member, we were very impressed by their fluent Japanese service. The lounge service—free alcohol, coffee, other drinks, nuts, small canelés, and pound cake—was perfectly portioned, very tasty, and made for a comfortable stay. The private bath and the open-air bath in our Room were also black Onsen water, and both were excellent. Even though it was just one night, this was the first time we’ve experienced such a relaxing Ryokan. Highly recommended.

    Excellent.

    We stayed here as a couple. With the all-inclusive plan, we had a completely stress-free stay with nothing to complain about. The lounge offered alcoholic drinks and plenty of snacks. Our Room was upgraded to a larger one than we had reserved, perhaps because there was availability. We truly appreciated this kind gesture. The Room was spacious and spotless. Ours faced the valley, and although it seemed to be in an older building, it had been renovated so well that it even felt brand new. The in-room Onsen bath was also at the perfect temperature and very relaxing. I understand it can’t be helped, but there were too many insects around the pool area, so I didn’t feel like using it in summer. It might be better in winter. The meals were especially outstanding. We enjoyed dinner at a leisurely pace over about three hours—delicious, generous in portion size, and high quality. For breakfast, every dish could be refilled freely (which is rare), so we could have more of whatever we liked—very satisfying as well. There were many international staff members, but everyone was kind and well trained. As this is an adults-only Facility (no children allowed), I think it’s an ideal Ryokan for couples to relax and unwind. Drinks in the Room were free, and there was beer and water by the pool too—I really liked that they weren’t stingy about anything. It truly felt like everything was taken care of for us. Overall, the standard is very high and satisfaction is excellent—I hope they continue to maintain this quality. We will definitely return.

    Everything was perfect—we were completely satisfied!

    All staff were very kind and welcoming, always with a smile. The Accommodation is new, spotless throughout, and very comfortable. The Room amenities and drinks were well stocked; the large bath towels and bathrobes were fluffy and pleasant to use, and the private bath was spacious with a perfect water temperature. Dinner in a private dining room was outstanding—everything from the tableware and presentation to the textures and flavors felt meticulously crafted, and we enjoyed every dish. For breakfast, we appreciated being able to get refills of our favorites; the blueberry smoothie was delicious. The view from the heated pool was also wonderful, and we could even see large fish swimming below. The lounge selection of alcohol, sweets, and light snacks was truly unique and left us completely satisfied. This is an Accommodation we would definitely love to visit again.

    An Accommodation where you can enjoy an overseas resort vibe

    The location, Facility, and service are all excellent—this is a wonderful Accommodation. The open-air bath overlooking the valley was perfect for a refreshing change of pace. They kindly provided Shuttle Service by buggy to our Room without showing any displeasure, and my parents—who have been traveling abroad less due to mobility issues—were truly delighted. Thank you very much!

    In Search of Fresh Greenery

    I visited Chiba, a bear-free prefecture, in search of fresh spring greenery. I chose this Hotel because I was very satisfied when I previously stayed at the Shinra Hotel in Tateyama. As expected, this Hotel was outstanding in every way—its location, attentive service, clean Room, and creative cuisine were all excellent. If possible, I would have preferred the temperature of the open-air bath in the guest Room to be lower during the daytime. I look forward to staying again in autumn.

    The Best Accommodation Ever

    This was the most wonderful stay I’ve ever had at any Accommodation, in Japan or abroad. Onsen: Not only is the water quality exceptional, but the temperature is perfect—so soothing you’ll want to soak again and again! Room: Impeccably clean, beautifully styled, and incredibly comfortable in every way. A space that lets you completely forget the noise of everyday life. Dining: Each dish felt like a work of art, with delicate seasoning throughout. We enjoyed local seasonal ingredients at their very best, and every bite was moving. Above all, the staff’s hospitality was outstanding. With a perfectly balanced sense of distance while anticipating even our smallest needs, their thoughtful service truly impressed us. Their warm smiles and kind words were deeply comforting. Without a doubt, this is my best Accommodation ever. I will definitely be back as a treat for myself. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

    This is an excellent Accommodation.

    The guest room was spotless and well maintained, with plenty of space, so we were able to relax comfortably. The staff were courteous and attentive, which made our stay very pleasant. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen. The quality of the cuisine was exceptionally high—excellent ingredients cooked to perfection, with outstanding presentation and flavor—but there was so much that we unfortunately couldn’t finish everything. The meat and white shrimp tempura also showcased the quality of the ingredients, but because they were served later in the meal, we were already full and could barely manage them; honestly, if we’d had a bit more room left, we probably would have enjoyed them even more. Breakfast was also excellent—the best breakfast we’ve had among all the Hotels and Ryokans we’ve stayed at so far. The portion size at breakfast was just right.

    A New Hotel in Yoro Valley

    I felt a bit uneasy from the start, since there are so many promotional videos on Instagram and elsewhere, but my partner wanted to try it, so we stayed here. The Facility has been renovated and looks clean. The lounge is in the same area as the check-in seating, and it didn’t really feel like a proper lounge. At check-in, the explanation was extremely brief, and there was no escort to our Room. Later, when we asked for directions to the open-air bath, a Japanese female staff member curtly told us only to “go straight along the path,” so we ended up wandering around the grounds in the rain. The open-air bath was more like a small hut and not very large; aside from the strong chlorine smell, we still enjoyed it. However, since it’s small, it would likely feel awkward if more than two groups were there. What shocked me most was at breakfast: someone else was guided to what should have been our table, and right after they got up in front of us, we were seated at that same table as-is. The chopsticks and juice were still there, and a foreign staff member encouraged us by saying it was fine. I was stunned that they seemed ready to serve chopsticks and drinks that strangers may have touched. Mistakes happen—I just wanted them to clear everything away once and wipe down the table before seating us. The food was neither particularly good nor bad—just average. It also felt odd that dinner appetizers were quite lightly seasoned while breakfast included strongly flavored pork miso soup. It’s not that the foreign staff were at fault; if anything, one girl serving us spilled wine or made mistakes here and there, but she worked hard and left a good impression. I look for relaxation when I stay at an Accommodation, so this lack of hospitality wasn’t for me. That said, it’s relatively close to Tokyo and has an open-air bath in the Room, so it may be good value for money.

    I want to soak in the black hot spring.

    I chose this Accommodation because of the great reviews and stayed here. Everyone was pleasant except for a few staff members. The food was delicious, and I was very satisfied with the bamboo charcoal burger. Next time, I plan to stay at their affiliated luxury property. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again in a different season.

    The Ultimate Luxury

    We stayed one night in a Standard Room. It was worth twice the price—an exceptional time and space. Not only were the dishes beautiful and delicious, but we were also deeply impressed by the outstanding hospitality and warm smiles of all the staff. It became one of the best memories of our lives.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    Due to the unfortunate weather, we couldn’t take a walk in Yoro Valley and arrived at the Accommodation about 20 minutes early, but they still let us check in. A few other groups were checking in as well. Just like in the photos, the lounge was lovely and smelled wonderful, and all of the staff were very courteous. Since it was a weekday and not crowded, we were able to use the private open-air Onsen exactly when we wanted, and our meal times also matched our preferences. Right after arriving we went to the pool, which also felt completely private. I had been worried about swimwear sizing, but even an M-size one-piece swimsuit was quite roomy. The Room was beautiful, and above all, the Onsen water was excellent. It had a brownish color but felt silky—like lotion on the skin. The only disappointment this time was dinner. The guests next to us were extremely loud—so loud that we could barely hear our own conversation. It was a group of three women, and it honestly felt like being lectured nonstop. They finally left around the final rice course, and only then did I realize I should have asked to change rooms. The dinner looked great and tasted great, which made it even more disappointing. Even though it’s described as a private room dining area, there is an open space above so voices from next door carry easily. For breakfast, I had requested a room farther away, so we were able to relax and enjoy it. The fish in particular was delicious. It seemed you could get refills of anything if you wanted, but what they served us was more than enough—we were full. The rice was so good that I ended up having another bowl. Some of the staff members were international as well, but everyone was kind and made our stay very comfortable. It’s a bit far away for us, but if we have another chance, this is definitely an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again.

    Overall, I’m satisfied.

    Upon arrival, we took a cart with our luggage from the parking lot and completed the check-in process. At that time, there was no guidance at all about using the lounge; only after we asked did we learn that drinks and other refreshments were available, and we were finally able to relax. We were shown to our Room, but there was none of the usual detailed explanation of the Room. The Room had a large window with beautiful fresh greenery, and taking in the view of the river from the open-air bath terrace while breathing deeply made us feel wonderful. After dinner, we returned to our Room and realized one bag was missing. We walked back to the parking lot and checked inside the car, but it wasn’t there... We returned to the Accommodation and asked a staff member near reception, but they immediately said it wasn’t there. Feeling discouraged, we went back to our Room and searched again without finding it. Just as we were wondering what to do next, reception called to say it had been found elsewhere, and they delivered it to our Room. I understand anyone can make mistakes, but poor luggage management was very disappointing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Room was comfortable, and the open-air bath was excellent as well. On departure, a male staff member kindly took us by cart to the parking lot; he was polite and pleasant, and even saw us off until our car pulled away. I hope improvements will be made so that service does not vary depending on which staff member you encounter. Overall, it was an Accommodation we could be satisfied with.

    Great!

    It’s a new property, and I was extremely satisfied with the attentive service down to every detail. The meals were generous and excellent. The free teamLab experience was amazing, and it even included Shuttle Service.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    The in-Room bath was wonderful, and the amenities were well stocked. Both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented, and the taste was excellent. The freshly cooked rice was especially delicious. The service was very courteous, and we had a comfortable stay. This is an Accommodation where you can truly relax and feel refreshed both physically and mentally. We would definitely like to visit again.

Thanks to you, my mother and I made wonderful memories. Next time, I would like to make a Reservation for a Room with a sauna.

    We were able to relax and unwind.

    On the day of our stay, it was unfortunately raining, and although we felt bad about it, we arrived 40 minutes early. The Accommodation staff still welcomed us warmly. The Room we stayed in had a private sauna, and right after arriving we went back and forth between the sauna and the open-air bath, allowing us to relax at a leisurely pace—it felt wonderful. The Room was also by the river and was excellent; however, the path to the dining area was very dark, and it was disappointing that there wasn’t a bit more lighting around our feet. The meal was also very delicious, and my wife and I were able to enjoy that pleasantly full feeling for the first time in a while. We usually travel to Izu, but it’s great that such a wonderful Accommodation has opened in Chiba as well—we’d like to return again.

    It was excellent.

    This was our second stay. Dinner looked beautiful, and the paired wines were more generous than expected—we ended up in a wonderfully relaxed mood. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, making it a truly lovely time. Breakfast was also delicious across the board, with gentle flavors. Even the standard Room was excellent. On the drive home, we found ourselves talking about when to come back next.

    The hot water is excellent.

    I stayed here because I wanted to enjoy the black Onsen, and I was very satisfied with the wonderfully smooth, silky water. There was a mixed-gender Onsen pool where swimsuits are required, but I would have liked a regular large public bath as well. The meals were delicious—each dish was thoughtfully prepared without being overly unusual, and I truly enjoyed them. The building is a renovated old Ryokan, so the lobby and other common areas are compact, but it’s an Accommodation I’d like to stay at again.

    It was amazing!

    I stayed at Shinra Tateyama before and had a wonderful experience, so I had very high expectations this time as well. I stayed in the therapeutic Room, and the in-room Onsen exceeded my expectations—it was truly amazing! The meals were also delicious, and I was able to spend an unforgettable, blissful night.     A Hotel you’ll want to visit again

    I was a little disappointed because if we had visited a bit later, it would have been warmer and we could have enjoyed the private open-air bath in the Room more. However, the service was excellent and very satisfying. The meals were also delicious. The lounge drinks and snacks were great, but it was disappointing that there were no seats available because it was full. If it had been warmer, we could have sat at the outdoor tables. The amenities and in-Room drinks were also good.

    We had a wonderful t...

    We had a wonderful two-day stay. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The pool was not crowded, so we were able to relax and enjoy it. Also, since we informed you in advance that I was pregnant, the meals were properly prepared with maternity-friendly options. Every dish served as an alternative to raw items was delicious.

    It turned out to be a very disappointing stay.

    Before our stay, we received several courteous emails. Thank you for accommodating my dietary restrictions. When you contacted us, I mentioned that I had planned this stay as a Valentine’s gift for my husband. You suggested adding a message to the dessert at dinner. I appreciated the thought and accepted, but perhaps it was forgotten—the dessert came without any message and was the same as mine. If it isn’t possible, I don’t think it should be offered in the first place. Since it was a complimentary suggestion from your side, I would not have posted a Review based on this alone. However, there were several disappointing aspects of this stay: 1) After check-in, we were not properly shown to our Room. We were asked where we wanted to put our luggage—but it was our first time there, so we didn’t know the layout of the Room. If there is an open closet and no luggage rack, please suggest an appropriate place (e.g., “You can place your bags here”). Even when guests visit someone’s home, people often straighten shoes so they are easy to put on again. I’m not asking you to provide boot keepers for long boots, but in an Accommodation like this, isn’t it standard to store shoes neatly in a shoe cabinet and have indoor footwear prepared? 2) During dinner there was a very loud group of male guests nearby. Perhaps because of that crowd, many dishes felt overly salty. 3) At checkout: paying at the table is fine. Confirming who will pay is also understandable. But if information had been properly shared among staff—since this stay was meant as a gift for my husband—you might assume that I (his wife) would be paying. It is awkward for me when the Accommodation Fee is clearly visible to him. Also, after payment, if staff silently turn away without saying anything further, we cannot tell whether we are free to leave or what we should do next. The male staff member near the front desk glanced at us; we waited for a while but nothing happened, so we carried our own luggage out to the car ourselves. A foreign staff member came after us later, but my husband—carrying heavy bags—had already reached the car. Both check-in and checkout were handled by inexperienced staff members; everyone has their first time doing something new, so senior staff should support them appropriately. Still, service that feels worse than hosting guests at home is hard to accept—at minimum, shouldn’t you see guests off? There was also no follow-up regarding the handwritten questionnaire either; that is why I am writing here instead. My husband even said he felt sorry because he paid over 100000 yen—but honestly, I am truly disappointed.

    Yoro Valley Onsen

    A year ago, I visited Otaki Castle and heard that the Onsen in Yoro Valley is wonderful. I wanted to visit an Onsen with my husband, so I made a Reservation. I decided to stay at SINRA YORO VALLEY, which I had been interested in for some time. It snowed unusually the day before, and I was worried about driving there, but we arrived safely. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m., but even though we arrived earlier than planned, they welcomed us warmly. Our Room had an open-air bath, and my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy it together. The private open-air bath was even larger and felt great. The meals were also delicious—beautifully presented seafood and mountain ingredients on lovely tableware that delighted the eyes as well. Since I don’t like meat, they emailed me before our visit and even took care regarding the broth (dashi). My husband likes meat while I don’t, so our hot pot dishes were sukiyaki for him and a seafood hot pot with spiny lobster for me. It was the first time anyone had been so considerate. The service from the dining staff was excellent. This is an Accommodation where I’d love to return with friends.

    The view from the open-air bath is wonderful.

    We stayed in a detached Room by the river. It was snowing on the day of our stay, and the snowy mountain stream view from the open-air bath was amazing. The meals were delicious, generous in portion, and very satisfying. However, it was a little inconvenient that the open-air bath was far from the Room’s shower room, so we couldn’t go there directly. Thank you very much.

    What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway...

    I suddenly had some time off and wanted to relax, so I checked the site and made a Reservation because this Accommodation happened to have availability at the perfect time. I’m sure it’s usually a great place, but this time I ended up there at the same time as a large group. I couldn’t relax in the lounge, and I couldn’t use the pool either. At dinner, even though I arrived on time, nothing was served for about 30 minutes. On top of that, the group was very loud, so I couldn’t enjoy my meal in peace—it was really disappointing. I understand it’s not the group’s fault, but if there had been any notice at the time of Reservation that a large group would be staying, I would have changed my plans and booked an Accommodation where I could truly unwind. It was especially disappointing because the Onsen was wonderful.

    Everything was excellent in every way.

    Everything was exceptionally well taken care of. It started with being able to check in while seated, and the Room was stocked with a variety of drinks—even decaf coffee and roasted green tea (hojicha) pods were provided. Plenty of bath towels were available, so we could enjoy the open-air bath in the Room again and again. While soaking in the morning black hot-spring bath, a Japanese white-eye flew to the plum tree right in front of us, and we truly felt spring arriving. From the heated pool (swimwear required), we could look out over Yoro Valley—it was wonderfully restorative. The meals were thoughtfully prepared as small bites with no fried items, which suited middle-aged and older guests perfectly. There were also small fish burgers available in the lounge, so I think they’ve considered younger guests too—those who might find dinner a bit light can still feel satisfied. After dinner, we relaxed in the lounge with pleasant background music; my husband read the newspaper while I enjoyed one of the books provided there. We have stayed at all-inclusive Hotels several times, but nowhere has been as refined as this place. We would love to make it our go-to Accommodation for years to come.     Second Visit

    With some unexpected free time, we decided we wanted to visit SHINRA YORO VALLEY again, which we stayed at last September. We wondered if there were any vacancies—and there was still one Room left on my top-recommended riverside, so we booked immediately. I felt like using the sauna, so although it was an additional charge, we reserved the private open-air bath with sauna for 90 minutes, relaxed and worked up a good sweat, then enjoyed a drink in the lounge afterward. Dinner was also great—we enjoyed drinks and had a wonderful evening. Back in the Room, we had another drink while soaking in the open-air bath… It was a truly healing day for both body and mind. Next time, I’d like to make proper time for a Multiple Night Stay and would love to visit again.
