    We enjoyed a wonderful stay that did not disappoint.

    This was our second stay at the beachfront, and this time we chose an ocean view room. We were captivated by the stunning scenery of Shigira Beach right in front of us. The snorkeling tour was convenient with easy access. The meals offered a variety of delicious options. The parking lot was spacious and easy to use, even for those unfamiliar with driving rental cars.

    Family use in November

    The interior is simply amazing. Surrounded by designer furniture and lighting, we enjoyed a great view during our stay. The staff was very accommodating, and we had a wonderful time even with children. As for the meals, they didn’t leave us in awe but left us looking forward to next time. We participated in the semi-submarine activity run by an affiliated company and were provided with Shuttle Service by car. In the crystal-clear sea, we saw numerous fish, turtles, and corals, which even the little kids thoroughly enjoyed.

    Best Stay

    The Room, view, service, and staff were all excellent. The only disappointment was the service and quality of the Japanese breakfast at Bayside. I definitely want to return next year. Thank you very much!

    It was comfortable.

    It was a truly luxurious stay. The Room had a washing machine and even detergent, which made me want to do laundry (haha). The large refrigerator included complimentary Sanpin tea and Orion beer. There was even a microwave. The fluffy bathrobes were very comfortable as well. The complimentary bag provided was lovely, and I saw many people carrying it at the beach or airport. The thoughtful services that catered to every need were very satisfying. As for the restaurant's breakfast buffet, perhaps because it focused on Western cuisine, the variety seemed limited (it was disappointing that there wasn’t white rice, which my companion loves). Also, the seating felt close together, making it noisy; we considered sitting on the terrace but found it similarly noisy there too.

    First Shigira Resort!

    I chose to reserve this room because I wanted a beautiful ocean view! The ocean view was, of course, amazing! Being a condominium-style room, it was so convenient to do laundry. It was incredibly helpful to wash clothes, including swimwear, before heading home! It felt luxurious to be just one minute away from Shigira Beach after stepping out of the hotel. The hotel itself was luxurious! The resort's shuttle bus made getting around easy and convenient. The service was top-notch as well!

    Disappointing lounge

    The guest rooms were new, very clean, and pleasant. However, the lounge had a very limited selection, which was disappointing. During cocktail time, I was surprised to be told that there were no more hors d'oeuvres after receiving them once! This level of service is not what I would expect from a luxury Hotel. I believe the lounge at Mirage is better in comparison. The checkout experience was also surprising—there was no one to help carry or load luggage, which felt unreasonable. Disappointing overall.

    The view is spectacular.

    The facility offers numerous restaurants and an adjacent beach, making it enjoyable to spend your entire stay within the premises. However, I was honestly disappointed with the level of customer service. Despite paying a considerable amount, there were many instances where staff responses fell short. Compared to my visit last year, the quality of service seems to have declined. One issue that stood out was regarding the shuttle bus. After dining, I asked a staff member about the next departure time and received a high-handed response: "There are only ○ minutes until the next one; can you make it back in time?" This lacked consideration. In reality, the bus departed 10 minutes later, and since the website states "operates as needed," it would have been better if they had offered at least two timing options or shown more flexibility. If reducing shuttle frequency for efficiency is necessary, providing a timetable on your website in advance—similar to how return buses are handled—would be helpful. Recently gaining popularity on Instagram has seemingly increased younger visitors. However, this may have led to busier operations as staff appeared less composed and even irritable at times. I hope for a return to courteous service like before.

    The hospitality is excellent.

    The young staff created a lively and pleasant atmosphere, making our stay enjoyable. Even the foreign cleaning staff greeted us politely with a smile as we passed by, which was very pleasant. The Cassina furniture featured understated yet sophisticated designs that blended seamlessly with the surroundings, adding to our satisfaction. During our 2-night stay, we kept a bottle of Awamori, and despite changes in the dining establishments within the Facility, they ensured proper handover, which we greatly appreciated. This is definitely a Facility I would like to revisit. Thank you very much!

    I visit every year!

    Last year, during my first visit to Miyako Island, I stayed at a different Hotel. However, when I visited Shigira Beach, the female staff member at the beach house left such a positive impression that I thought Shigira was wonderful. Later, while dining at Luna Rossa, someone (the manager?) kindly spoke to me and even allowed me to tour the pool. I declared then that I would stay here next year! Exactly one year later, I stayed in a Beachfront Room. I chose the Beachfront Room because it was right in front of Shigira Beach and had a washing machine in the Room. Needless to say, Shigira Beach is amazing and very convenient for snorkeling. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the staff member from last year this time around. However, all of this year's staff members were equally pleasant and welcoming. I only used the restaurant for breakfast and Luna Rossa this time but plan to try dinner somewhere next year as well. I’ll definitely come back again next year!

    Effect of Wind

    After the typhoon, I stayed at the accommodation, but despite the calm winds and no waves, swimming was prohibited. I couldn't enter Shigira Beach even for a single day while staying by the beachside. When I checked with the front desk, they said it was up to the lifeguard's judgment to prohibit swimming. It seems their standards are quite strict. Therefore, I went to another beach to swim. I chose this hotel specifically to enjoy the beach right in front of it, so it was truly disappointing.

    Room, service, and breakfast were excellent. I would love to stay at this Hotel again.

    We stayed at Hotel Shigira Mirage Beachfront as a family of four (my wife, our 2-year-old and 4-year-old children), and it was truly wonderful. First, the room was very clean, well-equipped with amenities, and extremely comfortable. The staff provided warm and attentive service, which made us feel secure throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a buffet-style Western option and a course-style Japanese option, which we enjoyed twice each during our 4-night stay. Both were delicious, but I personally found the Japanese breakfast particularly outstanding. Meanwhile, our children loved the Western buffet, so everyone in the family had something to enjoy. The only minor issue was that there was no plain white rice available at the Western buffet—only buttered rice—even though curry was served alongside it. It would have been nice to have white rice as an option too. We mainly used the pool located at Bayside Mirage during our stay; however, this required walking from Beachfront each time we visited. This felt slightly inconvenient at times. Additionally, some construction work during our visit meant we had to take small detours occasionally—not a big deal distance-wise but noticeable after multiple trips over four days. Overall, everything from the room to service and dining exceeded expectations for an exceptional experience! We would love to return again in the future!

    Unfortunately, the service was disappointing.

    Due to insufficient explanation of the IKYU Diamond benefits and operational mishandling, we were unpleasantly forced out of the Room just 20 minutes before our scheduled check-out during what was supposed to be a memorable family trip. Such treatment would not occur if the Hotel upheld even basic hospitality values, such as ensuring guests leave with smiles on their faces. The manager explained that it was a judgment error by the staff in charge; however, since there were issues with both check-in and check-out staff, this seems to reflect a broader problem within the Hotel. (Of course, there were many wonderful staff members as well.) While the location and facilities are truly exceptional, it is disappointing that this incident revealed significant shortcomings in service quality. (This level of service would be unimaginable at other Hotels in the Shigira group, including Bayside.) If we have another opportunity to visit in the future, we sincerely hope for a remarkable improvement in staff service levels by then.

    Shigira Beach

    I stayed at the beachfront accommodation this time. It was clean and comfortable. I requested a bath chair due to mobility issues, and they kindly accommodated my request. However, it was a bit disappointing that there was no restaurant at the beachfront and no room service available. I wish there were some options for situations when dining out is not possible.

    Please improve the service at the breakfast venue.

    I stayed on the second floor of Shigira Mirage Bayside before, but this was my first time staying in a Beachfront room. **Positive Points** 1) The view from the 10th-floor Beachfront room was spectacular. The facilities were excellent as well. It would have been even better if there was a view bath. 2) The hotel staff always greeted us with smiles, making our stay comfortable. 3) Amenities and the minibar were replenished daily, which was very helpful. **Negative Points** 1) I felt that the Club Lounge at Bayside was more well-equipped compared to Beachfront. For guests staying in Beachfront rooms, accessing the Bayside Club Lounge requires booking a significantly higher-grade room category. 2) Regarding breakfast restaurants—both "Shinkirou" and "Turtle Bay"—I felt that staff quality could be improved. At Shinkirou, when explaining about "Katsuo Chuu Soup," they mentioned that "the miso settles at the bottom of the bowl, so please stir it before drinking." However, this explanation was given in such a low voice that my husband didn’t hear it and ended up drinking only the miso sediment at the end while saying “What is this?” Explanations should not just be said for formality but should be communicated clearly to ensure understanding. Additionally, at Turtle Bay, we were seated at a table where air conditioning wasn’t working properly and it felt very hot. When we informed staff about it, they explained that turning on air conditioning above our table would cause water droplets to fall down; hence it had been turned off—and then added “It can’t be helped.” This made for an extremely uncomfortable breakfast experience as we sweated through our meal. Feeling quite upset by this situation upon leaving breakfast service area—I told reception desk staff how unacceptable seating guests under such conditions seemed appropriate response came merely apologizing without further inquiry into specifics like which particular table or exact circumstances involved—is simply saying sorry enough? While I am highly satisfied with facilities overall—the level of service did not feel commensurate with pricing expectations associated here

    We look forward to welcoming you again.

    I stayed in May. As it is a new hotel, the rooms were clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The best part was its location right in front of the beach, making it extremely convenient for swimming. The night view of the ocean was also beautiful, and I enjoyed relaxing on the balcony during the cool evening hours while listening to the sound of waves—it was truly refreshing! The staff were always welcoming with smiles—thank you for your hospitality. On the other hand, since the breakfast venue was in a separate building, moving between buildings felt slightly inconvenient on rainy days (though it wouldn’t be an issue on sunny days). During this trip, I stayed at several accommodations but found this one to suit me best overall. I look forward to staying here again next year!

    It was great being so close to the beach!

    This was our fourth visit to Miyako Island, and we always stay at Seven Miles Resort. Last year, we stayed at Shigira Mirage Bayside, but this year we chose a beachfront accommodation for the first time. Shigira Beach is my favorite beach because you can see sea turtles while snorkeling without an instructor every year. Since this hotel is the closest to Shigira Beach, it was amazing to go snorkeling every day! As the hotel is newly built, everything including the room was very clean. The room had a washing machine, so I could do laundry daily and didn’t have to deal with piles of laundry after returning home—this was very convenient. I also appreciated that amenities were replenished daily, towels were replaced every day, and even detergent was provided regularly. The area around the hotel has many restaurants from the same group, so there’s no need to travel far for meals—it’s incredibly comfortable and convenient. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, making our vacation truly enjoyable. We would love to visit again next year!

    I stayed for the fireworks. They were launched very close to the Hotel, making it a wonderful memory. The Room was clean and excellent.

    Close proximity to the beach.

    I heard about a Hotel closer to the sea than Mirage and decided to stay. I was on the 3rd floor, and the beach view was absolutely stunning. The convenience of being just a short walk from the beach was great; I could easily go back and forth between the sea and the Hotel whenever I wanted. The service was excellent, with no waiting time for Room cleaning. One minor inconvenience was that there were no restaurants or shops within the same Hotel, so I had to go next door. Hoping for improvements in this area in the future!

    Truly Beachfront

    Following last year, we enjoyed our stay during the best season after the rainy season. We have been traveling to Miyako Island frequently for about 25 years, and recently, we always choose the Shigira Group. This time, we stayed at the Beachfront for the first time. As its name suggests, it is located right in front of the beach with excellent access to the sea. The pool is even closer—just beyond the front desk after taking the elevator down from our room. There were also a jacuzzi and cabanas, providing a private and exclusive atmosphere throughout our stay. Last summer, we stayed at Mirage and Allamanda in winter for an adult resort experience; however, this newly opened Beachfront has a slightly more casual vibe. It comes with a kitchen and laundry facilities as well as a large refrigerator—perfect for long stays. However, since we mostly dined at restaurants within their group during this trip, we didn’t use the kitchen much. During our three-night stay: - We enjoyed Japanese cuisine at Turtle Bay and Sinkiroh (Shinkiro), along with Higashido Bon each morning paired with champagne breakfasts. - For dinner courses like yakiniku (grilled meat) or tempura were pre-booked; shuttle service or car transfers allowed us to enjoy drinks worry-free. The Diamond Member benefits added extra delight! Once again through IKYU.com reservations under Shigira Group accommodations—we plan another visit soon back onto Miyakojima island! Despite ongoing construction projects across parts inside resorts evolving further—it never disrupted nor diminished overall experiences hence no star reductions given here either! Thankful deeply towards warm hospitality received graciously indeed!

    Hotel offers excellent hospitality. Meals are average.

    Stayed for 2 nights and was impressed by the polite explanation and warm smiles during check-in. Even while moving around the Hotel, every staff member greeted us with a kind smile. The service was excellent, far better than other Hotels in the same price range. The Room was reasonably spacious, clean, and had a fresh feel with its white-based design. Without any request from us, they provided various amenities for children such as toiletries, a diaper bin, and a step stool, which were very helpful. Regarding meals: we tried both Turtle Bay and Shinkirou over two days. It seemed like some staff worked at both restaurants on different days. At Turtle Bay (a buffet-style restaurant), the staff appeared busy replenishing food items but seemed tense and lacked friendly expressions. There were inconsistencies in service; while some guests received explanations about buffet options ("There are dishes on the terrace," etc.), we did not receive any guidance at all. When we first arrived at Turtle Bay's entrance, there was no greeting; instead, after finishing their conversation via intercoms with someone else for quite some time, they simply said to us: "Thank you for waiting—how many people?" Upon leaving after our meal when we thanked them ourselves with bows saying "Thank you," it went ignored as they turned to assist others behind us instead by calling out instructions loudly like “Guide X number of guests!” It felt dismissive—being ignored despite initiating gratitude towards restaurant employees is something I’ve never experienced before anywhere else! Unfortunately overall hospitality levels within these dining establishments fell short significantly compared against expectations set elsewhere throughout this otherwise wonderful stay experience. Both restaurants offered average-quality food without anything particularly outstanding or memorable about either menu selection itself specifically speaking here now further elaborating upon breakfast arrangements encountered therein too likewise noting how Shinkirou opens daily starting promptly @7AM sharp weekdays yet arriving merely five minutes post-opening already found long lines forming outside leading ultimately toward extended wait times upwards exceeding thirty minutes duration altogether forcing several patrons ahead deciding outright abandoning attempts entirely choosing alternative plans instead altogether thereafter accordingly henceforth suggesting earlier arrival strategies necessary avoiding similar scenarios repeating themselves again future visits planned subsequently moving forward proactively preemptively mitigating potential frustrations arising unnecessarily avoidably preventatively beforehand ideally optimizing outcomes achieved maximally     Service not worth the price.

    It was my first time visiting Miyako Island. Since it’s a new hotel, everything was clean, and even the smallest ocean-view room with a white-based design was comfortable. The room had a drum-type washing machine, so I only needed to bring minimal clothing and didn’t have to wait for an available machine like at a coin laundry, which was very convenient. While I was satisfied with the room and facilities, there were some disappointing aspects. First, breakfast. The Japanese-style breakfast was supposed to change daily; however, during my 3-night stay when I used it twice, it felt exactly the same as if experiencing déjà vu. If that’s the case, they shouldn’t advertise it as “daily changing.” Additionally, when I filled up the bathtub in my room and added bath salts intending to enjoy a soak, there was an odd noise coming from what seemed like the bathroom ventilation fan at quite an audible level. I called reception for assistance; although they couldn’t identify the cause of the noise and eventually resolved it temporarily by stopping it manually or otherwise addressing its operation—unfortunately—the water in my bathtub had been drained without explanation or consent after their inspection process concluded! When requesting replacement bath salts from reception afterward due to this inconvenience caused unnecessarily—they curtly responded that none were available without any effort toward customer care or alternative solutions offered whatsoever! The next day upon checkout—there wasn’t any follow-up regarding whether further issues occurred overnight concerning said ventilation system nor acknowledgment/apology over wasted personal-use items such as aforementioned bath additives brought along specifically anticipating relaxation moments therein previously disrupted entirely unexpectedly instead!     Beachfront

    The first beachfront experience was amazing. The room was a lower grade, but I was satisfied. Next time, I’d like to stay in an upgraded room, but it’s expensive.

    "Residential"

    This was my first time at Shigira. The beachfront location is perfect for a stay focused on the sea, even within the vast Shigira Resort. It’s ideal for a "residential" style of use. If you’re looking for a great view, choose a Room on the ocean side. Shigira offers so much that it turned into a non-stop holiday (laughs). The Onsen, live performances, breakfast with turtles—it’s all like being in a theme park! Next time, I think I’ll take it a bit slower and relax more.

    We had a wonderful time.

    The facility and interior were new and beautiful, with excellent service that made for a comfortable stay. I was delighted to have my room upgraded to a suite. Although it was a resort view, I could still see the ocean, and the spacious living room and bedroom allowed my family to relax together. Since it was my birthday, they prepared an adorable towel art of a sea turtle on the bed. It was very cute—thank you! However, my child quickly turned it into a toy box and ruined it. During check-in, there were no overlaps with other guests, and at check-out, only about three groups were present—there was no crowding at all. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast both days at Turtle Bay while enjoying the feeding experience. Champagne was frequently refilled by attentive staff. The beach and pool were also enjoyable; I would love to visit again! However, one puzzling moment occurred regarding IKYU's Diamond Benefits which mentioned sparkling wine as part of the perks. When I inquired about this with the staff member who guided us during check-in, they opened the fridge to explain but presented what appeared to be an ordinary wine bottle instead of sparkling wine. Two flute glasses had been placed on the table though—was this perhaps an error? I ended up letting an ice-cold Italian red wine from the fridge return to room temperature before enjoying it using regular wine glasses provided in our room instead of flute glasses.     The Room was excellent.

    We paid an additional fee to upgrade to a corner suite on the 6th floor. The room was too spacious for two people, but the view was excellent, and we were very satisfied. It would have been even better if the bathroom had an ocean-view bath. Unfortunately, due to insufficient prior research, all our desired restaurants for dinner reservations were unavailable, and we ended up opting for catering instead. Staying on the Wednesday after Golden Week, we assumed same-day reservations would be fine, but that was overly optimistic.

    The facility is excellent.

    The Hotel is newly built, clean, and wonderful. Being beachfront, you can see the sunrise, and the Room is excellent. However, the toilet and bathroom are small. The toilet is too cramped; foreigners might find it difficult to use as their legs may hit when seated. There’s also no width space. The staff's lack of knowledge is understandable and not an issue for me. Breakfast is served at the same location as Mirage; while the Japanese breakfast is luxurious and delicious, the Western breakfast tastes unbelievably bad. Please improve the quality of Western breakfast to match that of Japanese breakfast. As a resort destination, I would love to visit again if only you could address this issue with Western breakfast. It would also be helpful if milk was provided in every Room in all hotels since even with a good coffee machine, it’s hard to enjoy without milk. If 100% milk could be stocked in Rooms regularly—it’s inexpensive—it would be perfect. As I mentioned about Mirage as well, this resort has great potential; incorporating some positive aspects from international standards like maintaining sandy beaches or private beach areas and pool facilities would make it exceptional. Improving Western breakfast quality or staff training by adopting good practices from global standards will elevate your service further. If these changes are made, it will truly be perfect!

    For marine activities, this is the best spot within Shigira!

    I used to stay at Hot Cross and Breezbay, but I had decided from the time this beachfront was being built that I would definitely stay here once it opened. As a fan of personal snorkeling at Shigira Beach, the location is perfect. The Room had a drum-type washer-dryer, making it very convenient to quickly clean wetsuits and swimsuits. The Room was new, so it was spotless and impeccably clean. The bathroom was spacious as well. The hairdryer was the latest model from ReFa. If I may add one wish, I would have liked a skincare set, so I'll deduct one star for that. The welcome drink herbal tea (butterfly pea) was lovely, and both breakfast restaurants served champagne. As an IKYU Diamond Member benefit this time, sparkling wine was also provided in the Room. After snorkeling, taking a bath and washing my wetsuit before enjoying sparkling wine felt absolutely luxurious! With Mirage access, you can use the beachside pool for free and conveniently leave your belongings there. The restrooms were cleaner than those at the beach house as well. Although the main pool wasn't available due to nearby construction work during our visit this time, we could relax by floating in the deep seaside pool near it. The shabu-shabu at Horizon had generous portions and tasted delicious; plus, the staff were cheerful and made our experience enjoyable. I truly love Shigira Resort! I'll definitely come back again—thank you!
