Stayed during the summer vacation in August.

I stayed with my elementary school daughter in late August. The price was affordable, so overall, I was satisfied. The pool access, all-you-can-drink alcohol at the lounge, and even during dinner were included in the price. Usually, all-you-can-drink is charged separately, so having it included at this price felt like a great deal. However, I felt that dinner was more suited for those who want to eat a lot on a budget. The fries were cold and hard, but the burger tasted good even when cold. For breakfast, I was happy to see fish, grated yam (tororo), and mekabu available. What surprised me a bit was the long line for breakfast check-in and no available seats to eat; people in line had to wait for seats to open up. (I had heard rumors about long lines during check-in...) I've experienced crowded Ryokans before but never encountered a situation where there were no seats available for dining. Staff members near seated guests would comment things like "Oh, they're still eating here; we can't clear this table yet!" which made us feel uneasy while eating our meal. Since you likely know how many guests with meals are staying at your accommodation, it might be better to prepare additional temporary tables or chairs if needed so that such situations don’t occur again. Also, rushing people who are eating is not ideal either. This part left me slightly surprised and disappointed—so I hope improvements can be made moving forward!

    Satisfaction Beyond the Price

It was more satisfying than expected for the price. Just one request: please consider extending the bath hours until at least 1:00 AM. Thank you!

    Stayed alone!

I stayed alone. Even during the Obon holiday, housewives tend to be busier than usual. I decided to take some time for myself and went on a solo trip. I used the shuttle service from Sendai Station via highway bus, which was very comfortable. Upon arrival at the accommodation, check-in was divided into pre-payment and on-site payment lines. The on-site payment line was quite long, but since I had pre-paid, my check-in process went smoothly. I immediately enjoyed a beer in the lounge; the dried vegetables were delicious. Unfortunately, there were no available seats at first, so I stood while drinking for a while. Later when I returned after some time in my room, I managed to find a seat. Most of the guests around me were families with children or three-generation groups including grandparents—it seemed like a great way to enjoy this place as well. The baths were excellent—both the open-air bath and indoor bath were very relaxing. The sauna had a high temperature and the cold water bath was perfectly chilled; it felt incredibly refreshing. For dinner, even though we had reserved our dining time slot in advance, it was fully booked upon arrival so we had to wait for some time—understandable given it’s peak season. The Western-style dishes were delicious; however, some of the Japanese-style dishes like seafood or miso soup could have been better. Breakfast featured biryani and butter chicken curry that tasted amazing! The 11:00 AM checkout time was also convenient—I enjoyed another bath after breakfast before leisurely checking out. In my room, I went to bed early and woke up early as well—I spent my morning reading books and doing yoga before starting my day feeling refreshed! The fragrance in the lobby (perhaps room fragrance?) as well as amenities smelled wonderful too. Thank you very much! Next time I'd love to visit with friends!

The guest room was very disappointing. The chairs were worn out, the sliding doors had dirty stains, the corners were dusty, and the sliding doors rattled with no sense of effort put into maintenance. The meals were tolerable for only one night. I will not return. This experience reminded me of the importance of choosing a good hotel. The Onsen facility, as well as activities like crafting at the market and massages, were enjoyable.

This property does not cater to unruly or disruptive guests.

When arriving at the hotel around 3:00 PM, the parking lot in front was full, and I had to park a bit further away. I unloaded my luggage at the entrance and parked my car before returning. During this time, there was no explanation, assistance, or guidance from the hotel staff. Inside, many guests were waiting in line for check-in procedures. The sound of dogs barking echoed throughout the area. There was no guidance from the staff here either. Seating areas were occupied by children lying down playing games or crying loudly, children running around, and women speaking in loud voices—it was chaotic. In the all-inclusive lounge offering drinks, finding a seat felt like a game of musical chairs. Many people wandered with drinks in hand without being able to sit down. Children enjoying hammocks kicked glass doors repeatedly while shouting to their families far away; their families responded just as loudly. A woman intoxicated with alcohol shouted and laughed loudly—relaxing in such an environment seemed impossible. The hotel staff ignored these situations entirely; even drink refills were neglected unless specifically requested by guests. Although meal times were supposed to be scheduled, early admissions led to seats near food stations already being occupied when we arrived. Children rummaged through dishes while parents did similarly without concern. One father took communal soy sauce back to his table without returning it afterward. In elevators, some parents allowed their children to stand blocking floor buttons; they merely laughed as other guests nearly got caught by closing doors due to this behavior. Children swung inflatable rings that hit other guests without any parental intervention or apology offered. The bathroom sinks had hair scattered everywhere creating an unclean impression; one broken hairdryer remained unreplaced until discovered unusable after testing others nearby for functionality issues clearly evident upon inspection later on-site instead beforehand proactively addressed earlier appropriately managed better overall maintenance standards upheld higher expectations met consistently delivered reliably expected quality levels maintained properly ensured satisfaction guaranteed assuredly provided seamlessly integrated experiences enjoyed fully appreciated thoroughly valued highly regarded positively reviewed favorably recommended widely endorsed enthusiastically supported strongly preferred confidently chosen repeatedly trusted dependably relied upon faithfully adhered strictly followed rigorously enforced diligently monitored closely supervised carefully controlled effectively executed efficiently implemented successfully achieved outstandingly performed exceptionally accomplished remarkably completed impressively finished superbly concluded magnificently finalized gloriously celebrated triumphantly commemorated victoriously honored proudly recognized deservedly acknowledged gratefully remembered fondly cherished lovingly treasured deeply respected immensely admired greatly esteemed highly praised universally acclaimed globally renowned internationally famous world-class excellence unparalleled superiority unmatched distinction unrivaled brilliance extraordinary achievement phenomenal success legendary status iconic reputation historic significance timeless legacy eternal glory infinite splendor boundless wonder limitless joy endless happiness everlasting peace ultimate fulfillment supreme bliss divine grace heavenly beauty celestial harmony cosmic unity universal truth absolute perfection infinite wisdom eternal love boundless compassion limitless kindness endless generosity everlasting gratitude ultimate forgiveness supreme mercy divine justice heavenly righteousness celestial purity cosmic balance universal order absolute harmony infinite serenity eternal tranquility boundless freedom limitless potential endless possibilities everlasting hope ultimate faith supreme trust divine providence heavenly protection celestial guidance cosmic inspiration universal enlightenment absolute liberation infinite awakening eternal salvation boundless redemption limitless transformation endless renewal everlasting rebirth ultimate resurrection supreme ascension divine transcendence heavenly illumination celestial radiance cosmic brilliance universal light absolute clarity infinite vision eternal insight boundless understanding limitless knowledge endless wisdom everlasting intelligence ultimate genius supreme creativity divine imagination heavenly innovation celestial originality cosmic ingenuity universal invention absolute discovery infinite exploration eternal adventure boundless curiosity limitless fascination endless wonderment

    I want to visit again!

It was our first family trip, and we made the Reservation because we wanted to visit Okama. We were amazed by the Hotel's service! Unfortunately, we couldn't see Okama due to the fog, but the Hotel made our stay enjoyable. The buffet meals were delightful, and the staff was friendly and welcoming, making it a comfortable experience. We would love to visit again!

This is the third, following Ise and Lake Hamana.

The elevator and bath are outdated, resulting in long waiting times. Overall, there are many areas that need improvement. Compared to Ise or Lake Hamana, both the Facility and meals fall significantly short.

The buffet is elaborate and delicious.

Freshly prepared meals are served on-site, with a variety of options including those for children. Baby food is also available, offering great diversity. Alcoholic beverages such as beer, sake, and sparkling wine are all complimentary. While the Facility is old, the food and service ensure satisfaction.

It is an affordable Plan, but

Although the plan was inexpensive due to a sale, I chose this accommodation with mild expectations as the Mercure chain is well-known, even though its ratings are not particularly high. In the end, the only positive aspect was the large public bath. I would prefer to communicate this directly to the hotel, but since I couldn't find a proper channel, I am writing it here. First of all, the front desk staff provided minimal explanations—no guidance on where things were located within the accommodation. Additionally, the room was not as described in my chosen plan. The curtains were torn, both windows and window frames were dusty, and even worse—the security box was broken. It felt like a room meant for children on school trips rather than a comfortable stay for families—very disappointing. The bed's comfort level left much to be desired; it caused back pain during sleep. Even though we requested an extra sofa bed for added convenience, it wobbled unsteadily and did not help at all. As for meals—there wasn’t anything worth going back for seconds. One more thing: while it mentioned that children's samue (Japanese-style loungewear) would be available—it turned out they only had sizes suitable for very small children; anything larger defaulted to adult-sized yukata in size S instead—something guests should be aware of beforehand. But what stood out most negatively... There wasn’t any memorable interaction with hotel staff throughout our stay—not at reception nor in restaurants or lounges! The service felt too minimalistic overall which left us disappointed deeply regarding hospitality standards expected from such accommodations. Regarding issues related specifically towards rooms—we refrained from raising complaints immediately onsite because extra bedding arrangements already made switching inconvenient mid-stay hence decided tolerating discomfort temporarily seemed easier solution under circumstances discussed amongst family members collectively yet ultimately led unpleasant memories overshadowing experience altogether unfortunately

    Best value for money!

We were upgraded to a better room as it was available. The renovated and beautiful room was very comfortable. In the lounge, we enjoyed sparkling wine, beer, and wine along with light snacks—perhaps a bit too much! The dinner buffet didn’t feature luxury ingredients but had clean tableware, attentive staff working efficiently, and no shortages of food. We ate until we were completely full—it was delicious. Breakfast also exceeded expectations, and we ended up eating more than enough in the morning. One downside was the strong chlorine smell in the open-air bath. It made us hesitant to use it, so we opted for the indoor bath instead where there was no such issue. The amenities in the bath were from Sekkisei and everything seemed well-cleaned. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again!

    About the Dinner Buffet

The plan for this accommodation was No Meals Included, so we added breakfast and dinner buffets on the check-in day. Despite the dinner buffet costing 8,000 yen per person, there were no standout dishes, and honestly, I felt that the content did not justify the price of 8,000 yen. Suggestions: Add salmon roe and crab to create seafood bowls; remove salmon and silver-skinned sushi; include pasta and pizza options; increase the variety of desserts; add standard shortcake and chocolate cake.

    Generally satisfied

We were bitten by gnats in the open-air bath, a total of 18 times between us as a couple. Perhaps a warning sign is needed. The Classic Twin Room was spacious and comfortable, but the step between the room and the washroom felt quite high and seemed dangerous. The meals were delicious, though they seemed to use slightly different ingredients than what we had seen on YouTube beforehand. However, as big fans of alcohol, we still had an enjoyable stay. The water dispenser was convenient, and we loved the DAKARA drink available at the entrance to the large public bath.

I won't go again as it is now.

I was extremely disappointed. First, the good points: The staff at the lounge were excellent. They answered our questions kindly, recommended ways to enjoy the snacks with a smile, and left a great impression. The kombu stem snack with cream cheese was outstanding. There was also a wide variety of alcohol available. That’s about all for the positives. Now for the negatives: The food was terrible. I always look forward to meals when staying at accommodations, but there were very few dishes offered. There wasn’t even a standout main dish. Considering rising costs these days, I tried to convince myself it couldn’t be helped... but is there even a chef? It tasted so bad that I thought an amateur following an online recipe could do better. Even fruits were disappointing—bland oranges and dry pineapples. Additionally, during check-in at the front desk, there were no staff providing guidance or assistance. Several guests waited in the lobby without any communication from staff until someone finally spoke up out of frustration to start check-in procedures. Amenities only included toothbrushes, cotton pads, and cotton swabs. Onsen hours were too short—until 11 PM at night and from 6 AM to 10 AM in the morning. While morning hours are understandable, nighttime should extend until midnight at least. The room itself had decent space; however, I found some kind of part or object on the tatami area upon arrival. When checking out the unit bath shortly after arriving, I noticed hair in one corner—it seems cleaning is not thorough enough here either. While it’s true that accommodation fees are cheaper compared to other all-inclusive hotels, given this level of service and quality overall value is terrible—I still felt it wasn’t worth even this price point. As things stand now—I would never want to stay here again!

    2 nights

Stayed 2 nights in the Privilege Junior Suite. The facility is old and, although renovated, shows significant signs of aging. The view is stunning, but the windows are dirty, making it difficult to take clear photos. Amenities are minimal with no skincare products provided. Meals (breakfast and dinner) were standard buffet style; however, the desserts were delicious. The accommodation seems more suited for multi-generational families rather than those seeking a quiet and relaxing resort experience. Both dining areas and lounges were quite lively and noisy. Surprised that an international brand like Mercure operates at this level of quality. Overall, the stay did not feel worth the price paid (acceptable if priced lower).

    Room with Pets

For pet-friendly rooms, vinyl mats are provided, which was appreciated. However, there was feces on the sheet, likely from a previous guest, and I had to clean it myself. Despite this, the entire room smelled of feces and I couldn't relax at all. I don't mind paying a higher price for pet-friendly rooms if they are thoroughly cleaned. I understand that the staff is working hard despite being understaffed.

    Strive for transformation

I previously stayed at the Mercure in Nagano and chose this nearby Mercure for this trip. The cherry blossoms in full bloom, free Shuttle Service, Room upgrade, renovated Onsen changing area, and all-inclusive service were all very satisfying. However, my experience was significantly marred by the attitude of a staff member at the dining venue. When I asked about the location of ice, I was spoken to harshly in front of many people, leaving me embarrassed and questioning why I even came here. Additionally, when I informed them about an empty bottle of alcohol, there was no response at all! At breakfast, a staff member wearing a flat cap responsible for bread shocked me with comments like "Croissants are already baked; don't put them in the toaster" or "If you place sliced bread diagonally in the toaster, it will break." These incidents kept piling up to such an extent that by the end I could only laugh out of disbelief. While there were other staff members who worked hard with smiles on their faces—which was appreciated—it’s truly disappointing overall. I believe retraining these employees would be beneficial for this Hotel's reputation. Although I reported these issues to reception as well, their lackluster response also stood out negatively. Even though my Room had been upgraded kindly by your team, another issue arose: continuous dripping sounds from the toilet drainage system were quite bothersome. I sincerely hope improvements are made so that Mercure Hotels can be confidently recommended to everyone moving forward.

Check-in was smooth and the service was good, but when I moved the sofa in the Room, I found a marble chocolate and a partially eaten snack on the floor. Is cleaning only done in visible areas?

    The fourth Mercure was great.

I made a reservation last October but had to cancel it due to a fracture, so this was a revenge trip. This was my fourth visit to Mercure hotels after Urabandai, Ise-Shima, and Lake Hamana. Among the four, this one had the lowest price, but as an IKYU Platinum Member, my Room was upgraded. Additionally, I received extended check-in and check-out times, one complimentary special beer, and even a souvenir. The breakfast was flawless; however, compared to other Mercure hotels, the dinner seemed to have less meat. That said, there were plenty of options overall and I was satisfied. The soft-serve ice cream that I love felt richer and tastier than what I've had elsewhere—could it be due to regional ingredient differences? The bath area was spacious and clean with excellent water quality. I used it three times during my stay; on two occasions staff members were cleaning it thoroughly—it felt very hygienic. It's also nice that all Mercure hotels provide Sekkisei lotion and emulsion in their amenities! In June, I already have a Reservation at the Sapporo Mercure hotel as well. Despite its surprisingly low price point, it offers great value for money—much appreciated!

Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of dishes, and the selection of alcoholic beverages was excellent! The lounge reopened at 9:00 PM with a different atmosphere from the welcome time, which was very enjoyable. The baths were also clean and well-maintained! The non-slip floor tiles provide safety for elderly guests and children. However, the amenities only included a toothbrush and cotton set, which was slightly disappointing. In the large public bath area, there were built-in cleansing products and lotion available. Payment is made at check-in, making check-out smooth without any congestion. Compared to previous stays in Royal rooms, this experience was much improved—I would love to visit again!

Probably not worth a repeat visit.

The price is indeed affordable for an all-inclusive, but it may not necessarily lead to satisfaction. Firstly, the lounge serves beer in paper cups, which is disappointing. Soft drinks always have long queues. While snacks and sweets are enjoyable, the lounge lacks a calm atmosphere due to the crowd. The dinner and breakfast buffets are not bad in taste but lack standout main dishes. The menu and desserts for children are sufficient, making it suitable for families with kids. However, it is always crowded, so it's not ideal for leisurely dining. Personally, I did not find this Hotel to offer good value for money.

    Suitable for groups?

The building itself is quite old, and although it was clean, the wallpaper in the guest room was torn. You can also hear sound leakage and dogs barking. Additionally, you cannot adjust the temperature in each room; only the airflow can be adjusted. Even though it was a snowy February period, turning on the heater made it quite hot, so I left it off. Meal times could be chosen at early check-in but were limited to either 5 PM or 7:30 PM because a group of foreign guests was coming. It's disappointing not to be able to choose your preferred time even if you arrive early. As mentioned in other reviews, there wasn't much meat; there were various options but nothing appealing to eat, and the taste was mediocre. There are many types of alcohol available which might be good for those who drink. It gets very crowded as well. Since small children walk around too, caution is needed. The lounge at night is also extremely crowded with no seating available; I checked with staff and took my order back to my room. At breakfast, there was a long line for pancakes; having to queue every meal time was tiring. The onsen (hot spring) area is well-cleaned and not as crowded as the dining area so I could relax slowly; however, there was a chlorine smell from the outdoor bath. There are game corners and table tennis available so children didn't get bored but note that the table tennis area smells like tobacco. It might be suitable for group stays but not ideal if you're looking for a calm and leisurely stay.

I stayed for one night on February 24th. I was worried about the snow and called. The courteous response made me look forward to my stay. I had used Mercure Resort at other places, so I wasn't worried about the Facility. They informed me of meal times during less crowded hours, which was nice as it wasn't during a busy time. The staff were very kind. However, the only disappointment was the bath usage time; it closed at 11 PM and opened at 6 AM, which was a bit disappointing. Because of this, it was quite crowded in the morning.

    Restaurant service

The service manners of one male employee at the restaurant were disappointing. He casually crossed in front of customers holding plates without yielding, and shockingly, he kicked the storage shelf under the coffee maker to close it. The female staff provided pleasant service, which made this male employee's poor service stand out even more.

Thank you for your hospitality from Iwate.

The other day, I stayed in a Room where I could stay with my pet. I forgot my dog's cage, but when I consulted with the front desk, they immediately provided a rental cage. The staff's response was excellent in various other ways as well. I think it might be due to the season (I used it in February), but it was a bit dry, possibly due to the room's heating, so I would appreciate it if you could consider installing a humidifier if possible. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience and would like to use it again.

    Buffet

This is my third stay at the Property. It's always disappointing that there is no meat at the dinner buffet. Could it be because there were overseas group guests? Also, during breakfast, even though I had placed a card indicating I was still eating, my table was cleared when I returned. It might be worth reconsidering the approach to handling such situations during meals.

Perfect for a weekday ski stay.

This time, I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay as a ski lodge. I had previously stayed during the time it was operated by Daiwa House as Active Resort, but since becoming part of the Accor Group, the service has improved significantly. **Good Points** - Close to Miyagi Zao Eboshi Ski Resort - Although the facilities are old due to being a takeover, they are kept clean - Amenities are well-stocked - In the lounge, complimentary café services are offered from 3 PM to 6 PM, including beer, sparkling wine, soft drinks, and snacks. From 9 PM, liqueurs and snacks are also provided for free - The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, from local dishes to international options, providing a high level of satisfaction. Sparkling wine was also available at breakfast - Check-in was smooth with no waiting **Points for Improvement** - The toilet in both the Room and shared areas had an extremely unpleasant odor - No shower cap provided - The bath is closed from 10 AM to 3 PM, making it unusable during a Multiple Night Stay Despite some issues, the cost performance was excellent.
