It was the worst I've ever experienced.
First of all, there's a line everywhere. There's a line everywhere. The elevator doesn't come. It just doesn't come. It was inconvenient to the point of being ridiculous. Free lounge? Can't drink because of the line. The Onsen is too crowded and unsanitary. Almost no amenities. The line for check-in is abnormal. I've used various Hotels across the country, but it's the first time I've seen such a long line. It took an hour just to check in. When I looked at the Review again, there were similar comments before, but it hasn't been improved. I'm quite dissatisfied. The buffet is too crowded to eat as I want. Also, it's just the usual food. Yukai Resort is still better. I hope they make a considerable effort. It's disappointing because I had trusted IKYU.com until now. Please don't rank such Hotels highly.

It was crowded due to the New Year period, but with the queue system in place, the waiting time was minimal. I think it would have been better if there was a signature dish at the live kitchen of the dinner buffet. Overall, I had a comfortable stay.

This is the first time I've been to such a crowded Hotel. But the food is amazing!
Stayed on Saturday, December 28th. As a Diamond member, I checked in at 2 PM. I was informed that drinks would be available in the lounge from 3 PM, so I went to the lobby, which was very crowded. The lounge was overflowing with people, and the lobby was filled with people checking in. Nevertheless, I managed to secure a chair and table along the hallway and was able to enjoy one drink. Then, dinner. It was also very crowded. I had reserved the 6:30 PM slot, but when I went down at 6:15 PM, it was again very crowded. I was able to get in quite early, so I went for shabu-shabu, but after I lined up, it became very crowded again. With only two pots available, it seems to create a line. If there were three, I think it would prevent long lines. However, the food was delicious. Then, breakfast. The guide mentioned that 7 to 8 AM is the busiest time, but since you can register your turn like at a family restaurant, it might be best to check in advance. Also, the Eggs Benedict, which you can't eat without lining up, was very delicious. There are pancakes in the same line, but if the pancakes are already cooked and placed, it might be better to put them in a different space where anyone can take them. When you line up for pancakes, they serve you cold ones on a plate, so I would prefer if they were available for self-service. Then, checkout. This was also crowded (laughs). I had made a reservation during a cheap period, so I was very satisfied, but it was my first time visiting such a crowded hotel. However, I think it's a great hotel for families with children and those who enjoy drinking alcohol. It was a very satisfying stay. Thank you.

Waiting is not a given.
I chose to stay because the reviews of the meals were good. I arrived five minutes before the 3 PM check-in, but there were already 32 groups waiting. I was informed that I could check the waiting status with a QR code, so I sat on the sofa in the lobby. I noticed drinks and snacks in the lounge next to me and helped myself to a welcome sparkling wine. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I checked in. There are few elevators and few lockers in the large public bath, which do not match the capacity, so there is always a wait. Dinner was divided into three parts, so I could enter without waiting, and the buffet was of a high level and satisfying. It seems that everything is based on waiting, and I felt uncomfortable with the staff explaining the waiting time with a QR code as if it were normal. Depending on the explanation, I might be able to endure a little more, but I felt disappointed due to the lack of hospitality and words. Given the current situation, I don't think I will visit again for a while, but I appreciate the focus on the food, and although the hotel itself is old, there is an effort to cover it with the interior. I look forward to future improvements in service and facilities.

Check-in: 1 hour and 10 minutes
We recommend avoiding the New Year holiday period. The check-in process was exhausting. It’s hard to enjoy your stay when it starts like that. Disappointing.

The meal was delicious.
Stayed for one night at the end of the year. As it was the end of the year, there were many guests. Check-in was possible from 3 PM, and I arrived around 3:30 PM. At that time, check-in was very crowded, with 30 groups waiting before I could check in. The lobby was bustling with many guests, and initially, there were no seats available. It took about 20-30 minutes to check in. Many more guests continued to arrive, so it seems that some people took even longer to check in. After check-in, I was told I could use the lounge adjacent to the lobby, but it was also very crowded. The room and facilities were clean and easy to use. From the room, you could enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Hamana and the beautiful setting sun. However, there seemed to be a shortage of elevators for the number of guest rooms. Meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast. Due to the large number of guests, there was some concern about the food running out, but the staff replenished the dishes before they ran out, so I was able to enjoy all the dishes. Dinner was divided into three sessions, so guests were well-distributed, and I could enjoy the meal without waiting or lining up. Breakfast was not divided by time, and I heard that it was crowded between 7 and 8 AM, so I went at 8:30 and waited for 30 minutes from there. The Onsen was spacious, and the washing area was clean. However, there were few hairdryers and lotions. There were many families with small children and wheelchair users, so I think it is a hotel that is easy to use. Since it was the busiest time, some waiting time and congestion were inevitable, but I felt it would be appreciated if the operation and flow could be improved a bit. I was made to wait over 20 minutes for check-in, breakfast, and check-out, which was disappointing because the food, Onsen, and staff service were good. As a result, it was a stay with low satisfaction.

Due to the year-end rush, the check-in, meal time reservations, and check-out were extremely crowded, and we had to wait quite a bit. We were satisfied with the meals, room, and bath.

Thank you for your hospitality.
It was my third stay following the Mercure in Urabandai last month and the Grand Mercure in Ise-Shima the day before. Compared to Urabandai and Ise-Shima, it was the most expensive (though still a good deal compared to other hotels). The room was clean and satisfying, and the view was nice, but the toilet was integrated with the unit bath, and the washbasin was narrow, leaving no space for toiletries, which was a bit disappointing like a Business Hotel. As for the meals, it couldn't be helped since I chose the Grand Mercure for two consecutive days, but there were many of the same dishes, which was a bit disappointing. Of course, there were many different dishes as there was a wide variety. I was disappointed when my plate was cleared while I was still eating during dinner. There was a card indicating to clear the table yourself, and since I was still eating and had drinks, I was surprised that it was cleared. In Urabandai, perhaps because there was a group, dinner was said to start at 8, and even after 9, many people were still eating, but by 9, almost everyone was gone, and I thought the staff wanted to clean up quickly. Because of that, it was hard to eat leisurely, and I finished early. In Ise-Shima the day before, there were few types of salad, but the quality of the salad was quite high, which made me happy. The bath was spacious and satisfying. I would like to visit again when the meal menu changes.

I was satisfied.
I stayed for one night with my husband as it was recommended by a friend. I haven't used buffet-style hotels much, but I was surprised by the variety of dishes. At the lounge from 3 PM, my husband, who is recovering, enjoyed beer and snacks with satisfaction. We had beer again during dinner, and from 9:30 PM, we had a nightcap at the lounge... the inclusive package was truly full of value. The room was spacious and clean, and we were very satisfied. However, it was a pity that there were no disposable shower caps in the changing room of the Onsen. We will use it again next year.

Drive for 4 days and 3 nights at Mercure Ise Shima and Mercure Hamanako.
Departed from the west side of Kyoto Gyoen at 9 AM, traveled 163 kilometers on the highway with a 30% discount on Sunday, and arrived in Toba at 11 AM. Had lunch at Sazanami Toba branch with fried shrimp and seafood salad. Enjoyed the full moon from the east side room, which does not have a view of Matoya Bay Bridge, during the second stay at Mercure Ise-Shima. The next day, took the Ise Bay Ferry (1 hour) from Toba Port to Irago (Atsumi Peninsula) and stayed for two nights at Mercure Hamanako. On the middle day, strolled through the Prefectural Hamanako Garden Park (56 hectares, no parking or admission fee) located near the hotel. Inside the park is the "Flower Museum" (Monet's Garden). Since eel dishes around Lake Hamana are expensive, after checking out, enjoyed eel at "Unafuji" in Tsu, Mie Prefecture. After the meal, passed through Sekijuku and used the Shin-Meishin Expressway from Koka Tsuchiyama IC. The view of Lake Hamana can be enjoyed from the lounge on the first floor and the dining room on the second floor. (In the morning, geese take off in a V-formation) The onsen (Yuto Onsen) bath on the first floor has a dry sauna for men and a mist sauna for women. Since the dry sauna is hot, seat mats and foot mats are provided at the entrance. It's nice to be able to use the hot water for rinsing. The next stay at Mercure will be a winter getaway in cold January, using the "Shikoku Marugoto Drive Pass" (NEXCO West Japan) for a three-night stay in Kochi Tosa. (350 kilometers one way)

To celebrate a birthday
Suddenly decided to stay with my wife for a birthday celebration. The all-inclusive drinks make it cost-effective for drink lovers. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, and next time, I would like to visit with my grandchildren.

Relax nearby
We had a small year-end party with friends at a nearby all-inclusive place. It was extremely crowded over the weekend! The check-in line was very long, and it seemed to take a lot of time for each group. It seems there is room for improvement in the response system. The so-called all-inclusive lounge was very crowded from check-in, so it was far from what you would call a lounge. I think it might be because it was the weekend, but this is also a system alarm. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were highly rated as buffets. Moreover, having free alcohol, including beer and sparkling wine, was very nice as we could drink without hesitation. The all-you-can-drink during meals was standard, and I felt the lounge could be done without. It seemed like it was over capacity. If you call it all-inclusive, I fear that repeat customers won't come unless the lounge is made larger.

It was good.
Used by four women: mother, aunt, and niece. The buffet had a freshly made corner, but it was disappointing to have hamburgers at night. Please serve them in the morning (I was expecting tempura or meat dishes). Other than that, it was great value with all-you-can-drink alcohol and the ability to enjoy drinks in the lounge. The Room and Facility were also good.

A reunion with a friend after 40 years. I chose this property without hesitation. The only disappointment was the short onsen hours. The lounge after dinner and the breakfast buffet were enjoyable and delicious. Thank you very much.

The meals are wonderful.
I was very satisfied. The service at check-in, the meal content, and the guest room were all wonderful after the renovation. It was truly amazing. Thank you very much. If I may say so, I would like you to consider the amenities and hairdryer in the Onsen. Also, having spare bath towels and towels would be even better. It was a bit inconvenient that there were no towels in the Onsen. Other than that, I was very satisfied.

Cloudy, then rain on November 1, 2024.
All-inclusive for just about 16,000 yen per person is quite cost-effective. I live in Tokyo, and even business hotels are said to be the same price, so compared to that, the room's spaciousness, cleanliness, and both the dinner and breakfast buffets are incomparable. My favorite is the open-air bath with a nap bath. The slightly chilly weather of the day and the warm water that covers half of your body. It's at a perfect angle for a nap, and if I ever become super rich, I definitely want to have it in my home. By the way, I heard it used to be Daiwa Royal Hotel (if I'm wrong, sorry). Now, about the important meals... The dinner specialty foie gras hamburger turned into a pancetta hamburger, and I was like, "What is that?" What was good was the handmade Mont Blanc. The patissier's thoughtfulness and personality were very likable. For breakfast, the vegetable juice, milk, and smoothies were good. The sukiyaki was a battle, and a few greedy people took all the meat, so we commoners only got to eat the cabbage and shirataki with a hint of "Oh, there was meat in it?" flavor. P.S.: Don't forget the melon dessert in the morning and evening. I've become a fan of Grand Mercure. Actually, I'm a shareholder of Tokyu and can stay at Harvest, etc., at a discounted price, but...

Second stay
I visited because I wanted to relax on a weekday. I was impressed that the front staff remembered me from my previous stay. I would like facial cleansers to be placed in each onsen bathroom. Also, since every hotel has high-quality hair dryers, how about considering hair dryers to enhance the resort feeling?

Family Trip
We visited Grand Mercure Hamanako for a family trip with our parents. We were very satisfied with the view of Lake Hamana from the Hotel, the all-you-can-eat and drink lounge snacks after check-in, and the buffet. However, while our parents stayed in a Western-style Room, our family used a Japanese-style Room, which felt as outdated as an old Ryokan. The in-room wear and slippers were quite inferior compared to those in the Western-style Room. The Western-style Room had a resort feel, and I felt it was a Room that everyone would be satisfied with. If possible, I think it would be a more satisfying trip if the Japanese-style Room were renovated to modern specifications and the in-room wear, etc., were unified. Next time we use it, we will definitely choose a Western-style Room. By the way, on the 26th, there was a 70th-anniversary Blue Impulse event at Hamamatsu Base, and it was a shame we couldn't see it.

Special treatment?
It was a larger Hotel than I imagined, and the Room on the 10th floor was spacious even with a sofa. You can wear the provided Room wear anywhere in the Hotel. I noticed in the dining hall that the Room wear was different below the ninth floor. Meals were buffet-style for breakfast and dinner, and every dish I tried was delicious. However, perhaps due to a shortage of staff on holidays, Japanese dishes like sashimi and sushi were empty, and restocking was delayed. Although it was set from six to nine, many people ended up waiting for seats at the entrance, so perhaps it should be divided into two or three shifts. Due to eco-friendliness, the handles of razors and toothbrushes were made of wood. The Room wear and slippers for guests above the tenth floor had a gold emblem. It might be to satisfy an executive feel, but someone like me feels a bit uneasy. The surrounding environment and views were all satisfactory.

A hotel that satisfies with food and drink.
This was my second stay following July. As before, I was able to enjoy complimentary alcohol freely in the lounge in the evening, along with dinner. The meals were also very diverse, and I felt like I wanted to try everything, but I was already full. I arrived during a busy time with many visitors, so check-in took some time. There were also many people waiting at the restaurant entrance for dinner, so I was able to work up a good appetite. Even on holidays/weekday, it was like this, so it's a popular Hotel.

All-Inclusive??
First of all, thank you for the room upgrade! It was a long weekend, and there were so many guests. I was expecting an all-inclusive experience, but the lounge was too crowded to be a relaxing environment. I thought it would be better to pick up drinks and relax in the room, but since there were no cup lids available, it seemed impossible. I would like to be able to bring cups to the room, including coffee after breakfast. The front desk and cleaning staff were all nice, and it was pleasant. I would like to visit again if I have the chance, aiming for a less busy period next time.

It was bustling with quite a few guests during our family stay on holiday. However, it might be a bit noisy with many children and foreigners. For those who are satisfied with a hearty meal, or for those who want to enjoy a holiday with a large group at a reasonable price, this is the perfect Hotel.

Very satisfied!
We only stayed for one night, but on the way back in the car, my husband and I were talking about how it was a good hotel! All the staff were kind. We stayed on the 12th floor, and we were surprised at how fast the elevator was. We stayed in a renovated room, which was very clean and nice. The bath and toilet were separate, and the bathtub was large. The large public bath was also spacious, and the water pressure in the shower was strong, which felt great. All the meals were delicious, and the all-inclusive service was indeed the best. There was one thing that bothered me. The yukata provided in the room had thick fabric and was not comfortable to wear. Also, there were two free ones, but having the same size as my husband was inconvenient. We asked at the front desk and found that there was a room with samue (maybe a non-renovated room?), so we exchanged them for the samue. Among the Grand Mercure hotels, Hamanako was a big hit.

I was able to relax and unwind.
The lobby was very calm, and as soon as I entered, the spacious lobby and counter, along with the gentle guidance, made me feel comfortable. When I entered the room, I was delighted to see Lake Hamana from the window. Also, in the lounge, I waited for the sunset while enjoying a welcome drink of beer. For dinner, there were plenty of delicious local Hamamatsu dishes like eel and whitebait. With the all-inclusive service, I was able to enjoy delicious drinks with peace of mind.

The meals were good.
The buffet selection was very good and I enjoyed it. Both in the evening and morning, we lined up before the buffet started, but the moment the restaurant doors opened, everyone rushed in to grab trays and food, and in their haste, I often saw people dropping dishes along with the food. The food was very delicious, but it was so crowded that I didn't feel like going to get food. I think improvements are needed, such as dividing the time slots or placing guides. The bath and other facilities were very enjoyable for the children, and they said they would like to stay again, so next time I hope to use it smoothly and comfortably.

We were looking for ...
We were looking for a cost-effective hotel and stayed here for one night with two adults and one child. In conclusion, we were fairly satisfied. - What was good We were able to stay relatively cheaply for 30,000 yen range with breakfast and dinner included on a Saturday. The meals had a wide variety and were delicious. There was a flower park and a small aquarium nearby, which our child seemed to enjoy. - What was not good There was a smoking area between the elevator on the second floor and the dining area, and it smelled of tobacco. I wished they would enforce better separation of smoking areas. We booked a superior room, but it had a unit bath. After booking, I found out there was a possibility of a unit bath, even though I intended to book a separate bath. It was very disappointing as we chose a higher room category for the separate bath. I think it's a significant difference for those who can't use the hot springs, so I hope they offer options with price differences. Overall, although I don't think I would repeat my stay, we had an enjoyable time. Thank you.

I was looking forward to visiting due to the hotel's brand renewal. The room was spacious with a nice view of Lake Hamana, and the large public bath was comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were creatively prepared and delicious. Although I entered the dining area as soon as it opened, so I had no issues, I noticed that since it was a free seating style, those who came in a bit later were having trouble finding seats. I think it would be nice if seats were assigned upon entry. The all-inclusive style for meals and the large bath was fine, but the salon was extremely crowded, and I couldn't get a seat. Especially during the bar time from 9:00 PM, there were many families with children, making it difficult to enter or find a seat, which I found questionable. It's good that there are many families, but I wish there could be a separation for different types of guests.

Overall satisfied
There were several times when I couldn't get on the elevator due to congestion, so three elevators might be too few for the number of guests. There were long lines of guests at check-in and check-out, and I don't think the number of staff was sufficient. I was very satisfied with the food. I would like to stay there again.

Four men enjoyed themselves, drinking, bathing, and dining in a lively atmosphere. We were able to have fun at the hotel all day long and left happily. We were grateful. Everyone said they wanted to go again. Thank you very much.
