    Silence

    This was my first time staying at this accommodation. Despite being located near the Biwako Ohashi Bridge, the guest rooms face the lakeside, allowing for a very peaceful stay. Although I couldn't see the sunset over the Hieizan mountain range due to snowfall, I look forward to enjoying the stunning view during my next visit. The staff's kind and attentive service was also very pleasant.

    Highly satisfying, a Hotel I would definitely stay at again.

    Two years ago, when I stayed at the neighboring Setre accommodation, I had hoped to stay at this hotel someday. Finally, my wish came true, and I was able to stay here for two nights. The staff were kind and friendly, allowing me to spend my time in a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The dinner courses featured carefully prepared dishes using locally sourced ingredients with great attention to detail. Watching the chefs work in the open kitchen was impressive, and the paired wines were absolutely delicious. Over two days, they served different menus each night; I even had the chance to chat with the chef extensively—an experience that left me completely satisfied. I also rented swimwear and enjoyed both the sauna and jacuzzi facilities. On the second night, it started snowing; by morning on the third day, I was greeted by a snowy view of Lake Biwa—a truly magical sight. I would love to visit again someday! Thank you so much to all of your wonderful staff members!

    A destination Hotel you'll want to visit again.

    Fell in love at first sight with the earthy architecture that blends seamlessly with the surroundings. We stayed in both a Suite and a standard Room, and both were extremely comfortable, making for a highly satisfying stay. The furniture is all original, showcasing great attention to detail. The meals are based on local ingredients, beautifully presented with perfect allergy accommodations—a flawless dining experience. Except for certain whiskies, all expenses during the stay are inclusive, allowing you to enjoy without worrying about exceeding your budget. The top-floor sauna and jacuzzi can be enjoyed privately due to the limited number of rooms available. Swimwear rentals are also provided, making it convenient to visit empty-handed. All staff members were kind and accommodating; our trip as three generations across three families was an absolute delight for everyone involved. This is truly a destination Hotel offering unique experiences you can't find anywhere else—so much so that we were already thinking "we want to come back!" during our stay!

    It was a truly luxurious experience.

    We stayed with a total of 6 people, including our 1-year-old first grandchild, in 2 rooms. The location is outstanding with a view of Lake Biwa right in front. The welcome sweets were served in an afternoon tea style, which everyone greatly enjoyed. The lounge menu was extensive, and we had a wonderful time both before and after meals. Dinner featured local ingredients and was absolutely delicious. Next time, we hope to visit during a different season to enjoy the pool, cruising, and more! We look forward to visiting again.     Enjoy a luxurious and blissful time.

    We stayed as a family of four, drawn by the appeal of architecture and an all-inclusive experience. After enjoying afternoon tea in the lounge, we snacked on dried fruits and nuts while playing board games together as a family. Of course, tea, mocktails, and cocktails were also included in the all-inclusive package. Dinner featured a menu rich with local ingredients such as aged meat, offering plenty of variety and exceptional taste! The detailed explanations about the dishes and wine pairings added to our satisfaction. We borrowed swimsuits to enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi, bringing along our favorite tea to pour over the sauna stones for an aromatic experience. With only seven rooms available, the accommodation was quiet with a private atmosphere that allowed for a relaxing stay. Above all, the guest room was incredibly comfortable with thoughtful design details that provided inspiration during our visit. The staff noticed our interest in architecture and kindly guided us through Setre's neighboring chapel—a gesture that truly showcased their attentiveness. We hope to visit again during hammock season when it’s even more enjoyable!

    Ultimate Refreshment

    With a limited number of Rooms, you can enjoy personalized services, and since it is all-inclusive, there are no additional costs during your stay, allowing you to fully enjoy the cuisine and drinks. The sauna and jacuzzi can be enjoyed almost privately at your leisure. The quality of the dinner was excellent, with a carefully curated wine pairing lineup that was highly satisfying. I would definitely like to visit again.

    Amazing!

    This is my second visit. I thought it was amazing last time, but this time it exceeded my expectations even more! The outdoor pool felt more like a large open-air hot spring rather than just a heated pool, and despite being November, it was perfectly warm and comfortable. The staff's service and the food seemed to have improved even further compared to last time. I will definitely visit again!!!

    We stayed in August to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff's hospitality from the welcome was excellent, and relaxing background music was playing in the room when we entered, allowing us to feel very at ease. The room is more spacious than it appears in the photos. With a reasonable number of guests, we could enjoy the lounge and pool comfortably, which made our stay highly satisfying! We will definitely visit again.

    Enjoy Your Stay at Lake Biwa

    We stayed here for a couple's trip. The stylish interior of the accommodation was impressive, and the friendly staff made our stay very relaxing. Since we had a specific restaurant in mind for dinner, we chose an accommodation plan that included only breakfast. The local vegetables and bread from a nearby bakery were delicious. The highlight was the lounge. The drink selection is excellent! (There are also many non-alcoholic cocktails available.) In the morning, yogurt and cereal are provided, and even after having breakfast, I couldn't resist enjoying them as well. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't use the sauna or pool, which I regret. With only a few guest rooms available, we hardly encountered other guests and could enjoy a peaceful stay that left us very satisfied.

    A very comfortable Hotel

    We stayed as a couple. The futuristic yet nostalgic building facing Lake Biwa left a strong impression. The interior design and decor throughout the facility, including the lobby and Room, were impeccable and inspiring. While checking in at the lobby, our luggage was delivered to our Room. Amenities could be requested at the front desk, and upon entering the Room, we were greeted by soothing music, a faint scent of dried herbs, and large windows offering views of Lake Biwa. There was also a hammock on the balcony. The dried herbs came with aroma oils for evening, night, and morning use. You could connect your smartphone via Wi-Fi to customize music through the speakers. The bathroom featured Wapyto shampoo products and organic linens. In-room drinks included coffee beans in the fridge along with water bottles; there were also herbal tea bags available. Without a TV in sight, it was an ideal setting for mental relaxation. During our stay, we enjoyed floating in the infinity pool on the 3rd floor or sweating it out in the sauna before cooling off in an ice bath followed by soaking again in a jacuzzi (the sauna offered various flavored löyly teas for pouring over stones; however, as beginners we didn’t try them). Afterward, we relaxed at a lounge on that same floor—though neither of us drink alcohol—it seemed like heaven for those who do given its extensive selection including rare finds! On day two’s breakfast menu: six amuse-bouches made from Shiga ingredients alongside fresh salad plus fluffy bread slices paired perfectly w/seasonal quiche soup smoothies—all deliciously memorable eaten leisurely while admiring scenic views back inside Rooms themselves! Being all-inclusive ensured utmost comfort throughout stays thanks largely due diligence shown staff members whose attentiveness helped make trip truly satisfying overall! Would love returning someday soon!

    I would like to stay again.

    I stayed here for my husband's birthday trip. The lobby and the Room were incredibly beautiful, and I was moved by the stunning sunset and the breathtaking view of Lake Biwa from the lanai. The all-inclusive experience with almost no additional charges for food & drinks felt like a dream come true. With only 7 exclusive Rooms available, every moment felt truly special. I will definitely stay here again!

    Peaceful moments

    Second Visit This Summer After staying here for the first time last year, I decided this would be my go-to place to relax during summer. Though I can't visit frequently, I make it a point to spend at least one serene and elegant day here each summer. Why summer? Because nothing compares to spending time by the pool while gazing at the gentle ripples of Lake Biwa and the softly rolling Hira and Hiei mountains in the background. As soon as I check in, I head straight to the rooftop pool. Enjoying welcome sweets by the poolside, feeling the refreshing breeze from across the lake, sipping beer while taking in breathtaking views—this is pure bliss. Relaxing until sunset, watching as towering clouds over the mountains turn a beautiful shade of red—it’s an unforgettable experience. Peaceful moments. The luxury of unhurried time. Once again, thank you for this wonderful experience. Summer is coming to an end. I hope to return next summer for another memorable stay here.

    I stayed here upon the recommendation of a friend who frequently visits this accommodation, and my daughter and I were deeply impressed by the delicious cuisine that met our expectations. Additionally, the service provided by the lady at the lounge bar in the evening was exceptional, leaving us with lasting memories. She also attended to us during afternoon tea, showcasing her wonderful personality. While there are many luxury hotels out there, I feel that a hotel's quality does not always align with its star rating. The heartfelt service we received left a profound impression on me, as it truly represents first-class hospitality. This hotel is both top-notch in quality and offers outstanding service.     Perfect Resort Hotel

    This was my first stay at the accommodation! I visited for the pool, but the pool, sauna, bar, and meals were all absolutely perfect!! The lady at the bar was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and there was a wide variety of drinks available! Even though the meals were all-inclusive, the pairing wines were delicious. Being able to enjoy conversations while dining made it such a happy experience!!! I will definitely come back!!! As a side note, I personally enjoyed breakfast very much. However, my companion is not fond of vegetables. It would be even better if there were two options to choose from! Looking forward to visiting again! Thank you so much!!

    Preferably with two meals included.

    It was more expensive than the hotels I had booked before, so honestly, I was skeptical if it would be worth the price until the day of my stay. However, after staying for one night, I was amazed. First, I was surprised to find a spacious room without a TV. At the same time, though, the breathtaking view of Lake Biwa through large panoramic windows was absolutely stunning. It felt like the hotel proudly encouraged guests to "enjoy this view rather than watching TV!" After checking in and heading to the pool floor, afternoon tea was prepared for us. We enjoyed it before relaxing in the infinity pool at our leisure. Above all else, dinner was truly exceptional; drinks were included and everything tasted amazing. All of the staff members were incredibly kind and welcoming as well.

    A precious baby-welcoming accommodation

    I stayed with an infant, so I had many concerns and called multiple times, but the staff always responded politely. I believe families with children can enjoy a luxurious time here. It was great for traveling with kids, so I plan to visit again. However, I was informed that the menu remains the same from September to November, which felt a bit long and unusual. Additionally, when it was time to check in, no one was at the entrance to guide us on which building we were staying in; we had to get out of the car and ask at the front desk ourselves, which was slightly disappointing. We intended to use the lounge and pool until just before checkout time but found no staff present there either. It would be better if someone were stationed until checkout time at least. Some guests seemed confused about how to make coffee as well. When I called via internal phone line for assistance, there seemed to be some miscommunication; they even asked me mid-conversation if I was a guest! They mentioned it connected me to housekeeping instead of where I intended—this left me puzzled as I followed instructions correctly according to their explanation earlier. Looking forward to improvements during my next stay!

    It was a wonderful Hotel where I could truly relax. I splurged a bit and stayed for two nights, enjoying the view from the Room, relaxing, and spending time at the pool, sauna, and lounge without ever feeling bored.     Must Visit Again!

    It was an absolutely satisfying experience. We stayed here for our anniversary, and everything from the room, meals, staff, to the facility was exceptional. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a detailed explanation and guided to our room, where we were greeted by a stunning view of Lake Biwa stretching far into the distance and a beautiful sunset. Before dinner, we enjoyed afternoon tea at the bar. The course meal featured an abundance of Shiga's local specialties and was not only delicious but also visually delightful. Each dish came with a pairing that perfectly complemented it—an absolute treat for alcohol enthusiasts (non-alcoholic pairings are also available). The atmosphere was warm and homely as we shared travel stories with the staff, chef, and bartender while discussing their carefully crafted dishes and drinks. With amenities like a sauna and pool available, you can spend an entire day relaxing at this accommodation. There’s even yoga sessions where you can unwind while enjoying views of Lake Biwa under the gentle guidance of an instructor. We stayed for 2 nights/3 days with dinner and breakfast included but still felt it wasn’t enough time! This is truly an accommodation I would love to visit again from the bottom of my heart.     I visited with my mother, hoping for a quiet and relaxing summer vacation! The breathtaking view of Lake Biwa, the comfortable rooms, the friendly staff, and the truly delicious meals made our 3-day stay feel luxurious. Some of the staff who assisted us on the first day were also working on the following days, which gave us a sense of reassurance. (It must be a tough schedule—thank you for your hard work!) Whether in our room, enjoying drinks and snacks at the lounge on the 3rd floor, or floating in the infinity pool, every option allowed us to relax at our own pace. The swimsuit dryer in our room was also very convenient! Even days after returning home, my mother and I kept talking about how amazing the food was. The dishes prepared right before our eyes by the chef were not only visually stunning but also incredibly flavorful. Paired with wines selected by their sommelier (as a side note: I’m usually not a wine drinker), it made every bite even more enjoyable. We became huge fans of both the chef’s skills and personality—if only this place were closer! We always end up wishing for more time there. I’ll work hard so we can visit again soon!!

    I had a very relaxing time.

    After check-in, we relaxed in the lounge with drinks and light snacks. The dinner course featured plenty of Shiga's local ingredients, and the pairing was excellent. Breakfast was also enjoyed leisurely in-room. The Room is not very spacious, but it offers a great view and a calm atmosphere.

No need to worry about being swarmed by lake insects when opening the window, as a large screen door keeps them out. Sit back in a chair and spend your time leisurely. The bed is also positioned facing Lake Biwa, allowing you to enjoy the view while lying down. Facing west towards Lake Biwa, you may witness a breathtakingly beautiful sunset over the mountains on clear days... Unfortunately, this time there were too many clouds over the mountains—something to look forward to next time. In the morning, breakfast is delivered to your Room. Enjoy your meal while surrounded by refreshing morning air. There’s no TV in the Room; instead, simply let time flow quietly with stunning scenery as your ultimate luxury. With only a few Rooms available, it offers a calm and serene space for relaxation. The staff discreetly ensure your comfort with attentive service. A luxurious escape from everyday life—definitely worth returning for again!
