    Stylish and trendy

    Located just a 3-minute walk from Kusatsu's Yubatake, with a modern design. We reserved a Japanese-Western style room with an attached bath. The beds were spacious, the amenities were stylish, and all the hair dryers in the room were ReFa products, as well as the shampoos. There were gowns, pajamas, and yukatas available. The meals were beautifully presented, and even the plates made us want to own them. The staff was kind and efficient in their work; we would love to make another reservation when visiting Kusatsu again.

    A cozy hidden retreat

    The facility is very clean as it is newly built. My husband complimented the high-quality furnishings and furniture used throughout. Although the parking lot is located a bit far, the shuttle service staff were extremely kind and promptly assisted us when we needed to retrieve an item left in the car. Despite visiting during Golden Week, we were able to enjoy the bath without any crowding, which was great. We opted for a no meals included plan after reading reviews mentioning that dinner courses could start as late as 8 PM if scheduled later in the evening. Since Yubatake was within walking distance and there were plenty of dining options nearby, we chose to have dinner outside and relax in our room afterward. Breakfast featured a variety of Japanese dishes served in small portions, all deliciously prepared with care. The rice was served in a wooden container and wasn’t warm, but both the grilled fish and miso soup were freshly served warm at our table. The location is excellent, with simple yet elegant surroundings free from unnecessary extravagance—something we truly appreciated. From an exit on the first floor near the bathing area, you can access spots for foot baths or face baths just outside—a delightful addition to our stay. We would love to visit again!

    Highly Satisfied!

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The staff's service, the Facility, and the meals were all highly satisfying at this Hotel. The atmosphere of the dining room and the staff especially reminded me of a grand maison in Tokyo. The meals were also incredibly delicious. Thank you very much.

    I would like to stay here again.

    The location is close to the bus terminal and Yubatake, which is why we chose this place, and everyone was very satisfied. Despite being near Yubatake, it was very quiet, and the building was new, clean, and beautiful. The guest room was spacious enough for three people and functional as well. The meals were beautifully presented with elegant tableware, and every dish was delicious. Everyone loved it so much that we would like to come back again in the future. However, it was disappointing that the rooftop terrace could not be used even though it wasn’t raining.

    First visit in two years

    I visited for the first time in two years. Since I was satisfied last time, I decided to return, and this visit made me want to come back again, so I am posting this review. Compared to two years ago, the staff's hospitality has greatly improved and was very satisfying. Last time, we stayed for my son's birthday and found it satisfactory considering the cost-performance ratio, though it left a neutral impression overall. This time, we revisited with a small child and were initially hesitant but were especially grateful for the high quality of service provided by the restaurant staff during meals. At the restaurant venue, they promptly prepared a high chair for our toddler and quickly noticed when we dropped a fork, bringing us a new one right away. They created an atmosphere that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable—thank you so much! Not just specific staff members but all of them left an excellent impression on us. We traveled by car this time as well, and even the shuttle service staff who assisted with parking went above and beyond by taking family photos for us or seeing us off without any sign of frustration despite our delays in getting ready to leave—thank you very much! I was amazed at how much quality can improve in just two years. Next time, I plan to visit with my mother. Thank you in advance!

    Used for my boyfriend's birthday trip.

    Located in Ura-Kusatsu, I stayed at this stylish Hotel that had caught my attention since its construction. When I went to drop off my luggage a little before 12:00, they kindly allowed me to check in around 12:10, which was very appreciated. The guest room was very clean, and I was surprised to find two types of hair irons provided. The Jizo hot spring in the private bath felt amazing! The staff's hospitality was excellent, especially during dinner when they took many photos for us—thank you so much! For dessert, I had requested a birthday plate with candles in advance; although it couldn't be done simultaneously as planned, they followed up later to inform me about it. My boyfriend was delighted as well, making it a wonderful memory for both of us. While service took a bit of time occasionally, we weren’t in any rush so it wasn’t an issue at all.

    Enjoy the ultimate Onsen experience and exquisite dining!!!

    The benefits of Kusatsu Onsen were proven through the research theme "Jikan-yu" by Dr. Benz, a former professor of internal medicine at Tokyo University, who was captivated by the excellence of this Onsen during his visit. It is perfect for extraordinary relaxation. However, the standard rooms are small and could benefit from adopting higher standards seen in luxury hotels. While having a multinational staff, mainly from Vietnam, is not an issue, it would be ideal to instill Japan's spirit of hospitality more thoroughly. Improvements in customer service are necessary. Particularly for parking, although it may be hard to locate, adding Google Maps links or QR codes on the website could eliminate unnecessary shuttle services and allow better utilization of resources like staff and materials.

    First Time in Kusatsu

    In mid-March, I visited Kusatsu Onsen for the first time. The location was very convenient, within walking distance from the bus terminal and very close to Yubatake. The Hotel had a modern and stylish Japanese design, and I loved the Room with a semi-open-air bath. The Onsen water was very relaxing. The hairdryer provided in the Room was Refa, which is great for women. However, it was a bit disappointing that there was no place to hang towels in the Room. Meals at the restaurant on the second floor were visually appealing and delicious, including breakfast served there as well. While most of the guests seemed to be young couples, we found it charming even as middle-aged visitors. I would love to visit again!

    Noise Management

    Stayed on 3/9 for one night. The highlight was the meal, which was very delicious. The restaurant staff during dinner were calm and attentive, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time. Thank you for the wonderful meal. The bath was not crowded, so I could relax; however, the floor in the changing room was always sticky no matter when I entered, and the foot towels right after getting out of the bath were constantly wet, which felt unpleasant. The Room was spacious and clean, which I appreciated. However, despite booking for two women, we received yukatas in M and L sizes and indoor slippers in large and medium sizes? Although they were exchanged upon request, does this mean that booking details are not communicated properly? As mentioned earlier in my title comment: shortly after check-in there were continuous sounds of footsteps or jumping noises above our room. I contacted the front desk at that time; they responded by saying they would check it out and to let them know if anything else occurred—after which things did quiet down temporarily. However later post-dinner similar disturbances resumed again prompting another call around 8 PM past evening hours whereupon male staff handling response seemed dismissive stating "we’ve already addressed everything" almost implying what more could be done attitude leaving me shocked! Without delving into specifics further interactions suggested tolerance being expected instead resolution offered outrightly neither affirming nor denying concerns raised regarding noise disruptions persisting intermittently till late-night (11 PM) followed early morning disturbances resuming as early as 6 AM next day! This left impression management prioritizes guests enduring inconveniences over resolving issues effectively undermining advertised promise delivering tranquil experiences sought-after amidst busy schedules seeking recharge opportunities ultimately falling short expectations altogether disappointing realization unlikely considering revisiting future prospects given circumstances encountered firsthand. Staff professionalism especially under challenging scenarios reflects true caliber shaping overall guest satisfaction ratings hence constructive feedback shared hoping improvements implemented moving forward ensuring better outcomes fostering positive impressions lasting memories alike deserving recognition acknowledgment reciprocated timely manner ideally bridging communication gaps evident presently observed lacking follow-through commitments previously conveyed written survey submitted checkout requesting formal response awaited yet unreceived spanning ten days elapsed reinforcing disillusionment sentiments concluding unfavorable assessment regrettably reaffirmed perception subpar service standards prevailing contrary promotional claims espoused initially anticipated otherwise unfortunately unmet reality stark contrast envisioned aspirations dashed hopes unrealized potential squandered opportunity rectification missed chance redemption overlooked entirely regrettable indeed!

    Glad I stayed here!

    I visited Kusatsu Onsen for the first time in about 20 years and was excited to stay at the trending "Ura-Kusatsu" area. It was a wonderful experience. Although I was initially concerned as many of the staff were young, they were all cheerful and efficient, making my stay pleasant. The food was delicious; however, since dinner started at 8 PM (which is quite late for me), I felt a bit unsettled. It would be helpful if meal times could be arranged or communicated during the reservation process. Regarding the onsen, I found the changing room to be too small given the number of guests, which made it inconvenient to use. Although I checked availability via my smartphone before heading there, it didn’t function properly—despite showing "available," the changing room was full. Other accommodations with similar systems have worked well in my experience, so this issue was disappointing. Additionally, with only one elevator available, it rarely arrived on time and led me to use stairs frequently. Overall though, as everything is new and clean with excellent meals provided, I would love to stay here again!

    The interior was beautiful, the open-air bath was relaxing, and the food was very delicious. It was also conveniently located near the Yubatake, allowing us to enjoy a foot bath after meals. The system that uses a QR card to check the congestion status of the baths inside the Ryokan was excellent. Although it was a bit lonely that there was no greeting from the staff at the front desk when leaving the premises after checking out, we had a very enjoyable time. Overall, it was a satisfying Ryokan. Thank you very much.

    Private baths and large public open-air baths are excellent.

    I chose to stay here because of the lovely private bath and the fact that it is a newly opened Hotel. Since reservations for the private bath start at the check-in time, I checked in right around that time. Out of the three available slots for the evening after dinner, only one slot was open (there were additional slots available after midnight until early morning), so I reserved the 11 PM slot. Since the private bath is located within the Hotel, I was able to use it without worrying about the late hour. For those who wish to use the bath at an earlier time, I recommend checking in early. The proximity to the bus terminal also made sightseeing on the last day very convenient.

    I stayed at this Pro...

    I stayed at this Property during a trip to Kusatsu with a friend I hadn't seen in 20 years. Among the many traditional accommodations in the area, this Property in "Ura-Kusatsu," a new spot, stood out. It offers great access to both the Yubatake and Ura-Kusatsu. Despite being new, the staff, including the bell and front desk, were pleasant, and the Room was clean and comfortable. The meals were just the right portion for a women's trip, with a variety of ingredients and excellent presentation, making it visually enjoyable as well. We were provided with a private Room, allowing us to have a relaxed conversation. I gave it a minus one because the lobby was small and crowded, but it was still a Property I would like to revisit.     A sophisticated and lovely Stays.

    We stayed as a couple. We used the bus, but there were also people who came by car, and the parking space in front of the hotel was full. It seems there is also parking available in a more distant location. Upon arrival, the approach to the lobby with its wooden lattice ceiling was very lovely, and the lobby itself used wooden decorations and furniture, creating a tasteful space that combined Japanese and modern styles. There were foreign staff members, but when we were greeted, I didn't initially realize they were foreigners. (laughs) Everyone spoke to us with a smile, which left a good impression. We booked a standard type room, but it was more than spacious enough for two people, and the amenities were plentiful. The highlight of this property was undoubtedly the food! Dinner was a creative course combining Japanese and French cuisine, with seven courses including dessert. From the first appetizer, there were six dishes, each with an impressive appearance and taste. Honestly, it might have been the most delicious meal I've had in the past two or three years. Considering Kusatsu's high altitude, they adjust the seasoning to balance the flavors, which surprised me when I heard about it! We upgraded the main dish to beef fillet on the day, and it was a great decision! I highly recommend it. I was worried because the reviews weren't that high for the price, but after researching in advance and choosing this place, it was the right choice!

    The meal was disappointing.

    This was my second time using the service, and I was looking forward to it because the previous meal was excellent, but the content was completely different this time. I thought I had chosen the same plan as last time, so I was looking forward to a new dish for dinner this time because the season was different. However, there was no sashimi served for dinner. I had informed the Ryokan in advance that there were people who could eat raw food and those who could not. The Ryokan had acknowledged this information from the previous visit, so I was looking forward to it with peace of mind. When we arrived this time, instead of sashimi for those who could eat raw food, it was a marinade. For those who could not eat raw food, it was just the same marinade warmed up. It was not a content that considered the customers or aimed to please them at all. What was even more disappointing was the breakfast. I was surprised when I saw it. Both guests were served Onsen eggs, but the Onsen egg for the person who could not eat raw food was completely hard. When I asked the staff for the reason, they said it was cooked because the person could not eat raw food. Is this method of cooking, like warming Onsen eggs in a microwave, something a professional chef would do? I was surprised. Also, I mentioned that raw fish could not be eaten, but I did not say that raw eggs could not be eaten. *I will attach a photo of the hard Onsen egg. For the morning ochazuke, last time there was a set of ingredients for ochazuke on the table, but this time there was none. I went to the Ryokan looking forward to it this time, but I did not feel that the Ryokan wanted the customers to come again. It was very disappointing.

    Quite disappointing.

    We stayed in early December for a multiple night stay with a family of four (one elementary school child and one toddler). It was a slightly modern Ryokan, and I got the impression that the clientele was quite diverse. To be honest, there were various disappointing aspects. Firstly, the parking lot is about a 10-minute walk away, and when going out by car, you have to request a shuttle service each time. There is only one elevator, and it's small. During meal times, it gets particularly crowded, so we used the stairs. The room's entrance opens inward, making it difficult to enter and exit as shoes get caught. The bedroom is connected to the entrance without any partition. Every time someone goes to the toilet, the entrance sensor light reacts, and a considerable amount of light enters the bedroom. The sound of flushing the toilet wakes up the family. The washroom had a large vertical crack in the wall, creating a step of about 2mm. The pendant light by the bedroom window was covered in dust. Although we stayed with four people (including two children), there were only snacks for two people in the room. The food was all delicious. The staff was courteous and willingly accommodated changes to the children's meals. The large public bath on the first floor was neither particularly good nor bad. The private open-air bath on the rooftop is entirely outdoors from the changing room, so caution is needed when using it in winter. We made a reservation for December, but we didn't use it because we thought the children might catch a cold. In the end, it was a last-minute cancellation, but they processed the cancellation for free. There were no major complaints, but considering the price compared to the satisfaction level, I would rate it two stars after making the reservation on IKYU.com.

    Somehow, a feeling of unease remained.

    As a newly opened Hotel, the Facility and Room were clean, and the food was very delicious. However, there were some minor issues that left me feeling uneasy. Firstly, upon arrival, we had to wait quite a while to enter the parking lot, but there was not even a word of apology for the wait, and during check-in, it felt like a rushed assembly line process. Unless you have a Room with a bath, your car is parked in a distant grassy parking lot, and due to the rain that fell at night, it seemed like some nuts had fallen, leaving the car very dirty when we left. The bath water was nice, but the chairs... were unpleasant. I think it's a good Hotel for a quiet stay. The location was also very good. The front desk staff were able to understand with a smile, but perhaps because it's a new Hotel, the higher-ups seemed to be struggling with training new staff, and it was disappointing that they were businesslike and not very smiley.

    Both breakfast and dinner were very delicious, and the Onsen was clean and wonderful!! The Facility is stylish, but having pipe chairs at the front desk doesn't look good in photos, which was a real shame...

    It was a good Stays.

    It was a property with a very nice atmosphere. The path from the entrance to the front desk was well-designed, creating an exciting feeling, and I thought the presentation was good. The food was delicious, but I felt a bit rushed, so it would be even better if they could consider the age group, what guests are drinking, and their pace. Additionally, the atmosphere of the back Kusatsu and the interior design of the hotel matched very well, and the Yubatake was nearby, allowing us to fully enjoy the Kusatsu Onsen town. Lastly, we went by car, but the hotel entrance was hard to find, so it would be helpful to have the hotel name and entrance approach clearly indicated around the entrance of the narrow uphill road. We ended up parking at the neighboring hotel's parking lot and were guided, "TOU-san is up here."

    I stayed with my wife and 8-month-old child. Overall, it was a nice atmosphere, but there were a few concerns. 1. The only type of high chair for children was the floor type, which made it difficult to eat. 2. The meals had many unusual flavors, which I think could be a matter of personal preference. The simple grilled meat and fish were excellently cooked. 3. There were too few staff at the front desk, so I hesitated to ask for a photo. 4. Having only one elevator for the number of guest rooms is too few. 5. It was difficult to get a mobile signal. Other than that, I think it was of a higher standard than typical properties.

    If I may say so...

    It was a lovely Hotel with a new building and intricate design. The Room was a bit inconvenient as the toilet and washroom were together. Since it was a girls' trip, when someone was using the washroom for makeup, others had difficulty using the toilet and ended up using the toilet outside the Room... Also, the meals were very elaborate and delicious, but breakfast felt like an extension of dinner, so we didn't eat much. It's a pity because the customer service was excellent. Overall, we are satisfied. I wrote this hoping for further improvement. Thank you very much.

    A Men's Trip with a Best Friend of 50 Years

    I had the pleasure of staying at the Property with my best friend of 50 years for a men's trip. Since we couldn't watch TV, they offered us a drink service and extended our stay. The Hotel was new, very clean, and had a great sense of cleanliness, and the service was excellent. It was also close to the Yubatake, so we could go for a walk with peace of mind. The newly developed Ura-Kusatsu was right in front of the Hotel, and we enjoyed a leisurely foot bath while savoring delicious Jizo-yaki. Washing our eyes was a unique experience that felt very Kusatsu-like. As we stayed in a deluxe room, we had unlimited access to the semi-open-air bath, allowing us to spend a wonderful time with my best friend. Meals were served in a private room, as we were in a deluxe room. We could enjoy our meals without any hesitation. Each dish was prepared with care, and since we upgraded, the beef fillet was also very delicious. It was my first time at Kusatsu Onsen, and I was able to spend a very elegant and pleasant time with my best friend. My best friend was also very pleased. I would like to use this Property again the next time I visit Kusatsu. Thank you very much.

    Very good Stays.

    I stayed for two nights with my mother. The meals were very delicious. We enjoyed them thoroughly on both days. I thought it was nice that there was dashi in the breakfast drink corner, allowing us to enjoy ochazuke to our liking. The front desk and restaurant staff were always kind and smiling, which was wonderful. There was a time when I mistakenly couldn't reserve a private bath, and I troubled the front desk staff, but they were considerate and attentive throughout. The only slightly disappointing thing was that there seemed to be lively children in another room, and for one night, the noise was a bit bothersome. However, the other night was quiet, so it can't be helped. That was the only thing that bothered me. The hotel is close to both the bus terminal and the Yubatake, yet it's in a quiet area of Kusatsu, and the room and bath are clean. I think it's a hotel where you can fully enjoy the onsen town and the hot springs. It's great value for money!

    A lovely small Onsen Hotel

    The size of the Room is sufficient, but I am not pleased because there is no bathtub in the bathroom. I hit my foot on the corner of the bed frame and got a bruise. Please be careful. The quality of the food is good, but it is Western-style. There are no shops in the Hotel, and there are no special Facilities.
