    Enjoy exquisite French cuisine made with local ingredients and relax in a spacious cypress bath!

    I stayed for one night at the MARUJU building. The location was about a 15-minute walk from Seibu Chichibu Station. While it felt a bit far from the station, walking along Banba Street allowed me to enjoy its retro atmosphere with many intriguing shops! Chichibu Shrine was also nearby, and the walk to the hotel offered a charming glimpse into Chichibu's nostalgic vibe. Being centrally located in Chichibu, it was very convenient for sightseeing trips to places like Mitsumine Shrine and Nagatoro. The interior of the accommodation was beautifully clean while still retaining a sense of history. The highlight was definitely the large hinoki cypress bath! Soaking in the spacious tub surrounded by the soothing scent of hinoki wood was absolutely amazing! After bathing, I enjoyed sipping on locally crafted Chichibu cola provided in my room—it felt heavenly. Dinner featured French cuisine made with local ingredients, and every dish was delicious. The venison steak stood out as exceptionally tender—100 times softer than I had imagined! If you think venison is tough, you must try this—it will change your mind completely! Breakfast included grilled local rainbow trout and other dishes that allowed me to savor Chichibu's flavors fully. This accommodation offers an extraordinary experience where you can feel Chichibu's history and culture. I left completely satisfied—it's worth spending a little extra money for such an unforgettable stay!

    Completely satisfied for the second time!

    When visiting Chichibu, day trips are common, but this time I stayed overnight for the first time in a while. This was my second stay at NIPPONIA Accommodation. As it is a traditional Japanese house-style hotel, you are told the story of your room during check-in. They also provide a map of nearby shops, which is great for those who want to explore the town. Books and guidebooks about Chichibu were available in the room as well. However, since the explanation of the room's story was only given at check-in, it might be nice to have written materials about it in the room too. The room I stayed in this time used to be a warehouse. It had high ceilings and cozy lighting. The bathroom was made of cypress wood with a pleasant aroma of cypress. I was surprised but grateful that drinks in the room were complimentary. Without a TV, you can enjoy reading guidebooks or sipping on drinks for a relaxing stay. Dinner had elements of creative Italian or French cuisine. This time, miso appeared in various forms throughout dinner, which was interesting; and as for the main dish—venison—it had no gamey taste and paired wonderfully with mushrooms and miso sauce on the side—it was delicious! Local ingredients were used throughout, leaving a good impression; plus, portion sizes were just right. It would have been even better if draft beer had been included on the drink menu. The bed was spacious and allowed me to rest well at night. The skylight let natural morning light stream in beautifully. Next time, I'd like to try staying in another room!

    I stayed here during a trip with friends and was very satisfied with the attention to detail in the design and the high-quality service. Room The moment I entered Room 103, I was greeted by the elegant scent of cypress, instantly elevating the sense of being in a special place. The high ceilings, renovated while preserving the structure of the traditional house, created a spacious and relaxing atmosphere. The entire facility was impeccably clean, and the blend of the historic charm of the building with modern comfort was refreshing. The highlight was the spacious cypress bath. Soaking in the tub surrounded by the soothing aroma of cypress was incredibly comfortable, providing complete relaxation for both body and mind. Service The staff provided consistently polite and warm hospitality. Their service was attentive yet maintained an appropriate distance, which was very thoughtful. Dining The meals, which I had been looking forward to, featured seasonal dishes made with fresh local ingredients and were absolutely delightful. The main dish, venison, was so tender and flavorful that even I, who usually have reservations about game meat, finished it completely. Everything about the stay was of high quality, making it a wonderful experience where an adult woman could truly unwind. I would love to visit again in a different season.

    It was the best family trip ever!!

    We went on our first trip to Chichibu as a family of three with our 1.5-year-old child. Although we had visited Chichibu several times before, this was our first time staying overnight, and we had high expectations. The accommodation exceeded all of them—it was truly wonderful. We stayed in a detached room, and since it was a holiday followed by a weekday, we had the place to ourselves, which made it very comfortable even with a small child. The room was incredibly clean and spacious; it was a maisonette-style room, but the second floor alone provided more than enough space for us. The bath smelled wonderfully of cypress wood, and we loved it so much that we used it four times during our stay! Also, the room we stayed in was very quiet—the sound of trains passing by felt more like background music. While the room itself was fantastic, what stood out most were the meals! The dishes featured local specialties like Chichibu miso and other ingredients unique to the area. We enjoyed both creative Italian and French cuisine—it was absolutely satisfying. Since we had a child with us, they prepared a private dining space for us. Even when our son got excited and noisy, staff members kindly entertained him—we were so grateful that it almost felt too accommodating! It’s such an amazing accommodation that I’m already looking forward to staying in another type of room next time!

    Warm hospitality and comforting cuisine

    I stayed at this accommodation a few years ago and recently returned during a trip. The staff, likely locals, provided warm hospitality before, but this time their service felt even more refined. The food was delicious as always, but this time it featured even more local ingredients, which was wonderful. Staying in a place like this feels more special with a strong local touch. Dinner was luxurious, and breakfast was also delightful with tasty rice and an overall gentle atmosphere. Perhaps the pleasant weather contributed to the experience, but despite the room's historical charm or slightly aged feel, I didn’t find it uncomfortable at all. Having such a spacious loft-style room all to myself felt truly indulgent. I’d love to stay here again if I visit Chichibu in the future!

    Located a 15-minute walk from Seibu Chichibu Station and just a 5-minute walk from Chichibu Railway's Chichibu Station, the Hotel is easily accessible. Even from Seibu Chichibu Station, the walk through the shopping streets and town makes it feel closer than expected. Originally a pharmacy, this building has been renovated into a Hotel while preserving its original exterior and structure. The interior is beautifully updated, offering a unique blend of traditional and modern architecture. Dinner features French cuisine with courses highlighting local ingredients and sake from Chichibu. Breakfast offers Japanese dishes that also showcase the region's flavors. The Room exudes the natural scent of wood, with spacious bathrooms featuring large hinoki cypress bathtubs for ultimate relaxation. The overall design emphasizes open spaces, providing an experience distinct from urban Hotels. The staff are attentive and accommodating, answering questions about meals and providing detailed explanations about the Rooms with great care. With its calm atmosphere and serene environment, this is an ideal place to unwind and enjoy peaceful moments away from city life.

    The children also had a great time!

    It was my first time staying at a traditional Japanese-style Hotel. At check-in, we were given a detailed explanation of the building's history and nearby attractions. When we were shown to our Room, even the children exclaimed "Wow!" in amazement at the nostalgic atmosphere. The large cypress bath was especially exciting, and during our post-dinner bath time, the kids got overly excited! As expected, the meals were fantastic. The autumn menu had just started, and both the warm pumpkin and figs were incredibly delicious. The main dish of venison had no gamey taste at all and was thoroughly enjoyable! The children's dinner featured a very appetizing hamburger steak that they finished in no time. Both dinner and breakfast made abundant use of local ingredients from Chichibu, which was explained to us as we enjoyed each dish with gratitude. Next time, I’d love to stay in another Room!

    A Journey to Chichibu

    Enjoy the best of Chichibu! As this accommodation is a renovated traditional house, some preparation and creativity with your belongings may be needed. However, its proximity to Chichibu Shrine and the opportunity to enjoy strolling around the town are truly wonderful features. The breakfast, centered around rice dishes, is another highlight.     A Relaxing Chichibu & Nagatoro Trip Made Possible by Staying Overnight

    I recently went on a relaxing trip with a friend who is usually busy with work. We decided on Chichibu, a popular destination we often see on social media, as it’s close to Tokyo. After doing some research, we booked a guided tour and were shown around the town by an experienced guide. It was enjoyable to learn detailed information that we wouldn’t have discovered on our own, and I highly recommend it. After having a slightly late lunch and feeling tired from walking, we checked in and entered our Room. The Room was originally part of an old pharmacy used for storing medicine. The impressive ceiling and beams left us in awe. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to enjoy conversations with my friend. The highlight of the trip was definitely the meal. It beautifully showcased Chichibu’s charm through stylish yet delicious dishes featuring vegetables, miso, game meat, fish, and more—all prepared with delicate flavors that were truly exceptional. We also enjoyed sampling three types of sake from a nearby brewery at an affordable price. The next day, we visited Nagatoro. Since we're not morning people, we took our time getting up and found it surprisingly close—just about 20 minutes by train. Considering the travel time from Tokyo overall though, staying overnight was definitely worth it! Although there were more people than expected at Nagatoro, the thrilling riverboat ride led by entertaining boatmen made for an unforgettable experience. It was such a fulfilling weekend getaway! I’d love to recommend this trip to my friends too!

    An Extraordinary Space and Farm-to-Table French Cuisine

    We stayed at this accommodation during our trip to Chichibu. Located near Banba Street, the central area for sightseeing, we were drawn to its concept of revitalizing a historical building. At check-in, we received a walking map of the surrounding area and recommendations for local attractions. The next day, we visited Chichibu Shrine and Banba Street, both conveniently close to the accommodation. We stayed in Room 102, which was a renovated warehouse. The living room featured an open ceiling with impressive exposed beams. We didn’t find any issues with soundproofing; instead, the summer sounds of insects were quite soothing. Without a TV in the room, we enjoyed reading books provided by the accommodation and indulging in local Chichibu sweets and sake for a peaceful time. For someone like me who is often immersed in digital devices, this quiet environment offered an excellent digital detox experience! The cypress bath was incredibly relaxing with its aromatic scent upon entering and its spacious tub that allowed us to stretch out comfortably. The water facilities and furnishings were modern yet harmonized beautifully with the historical charm of the room. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the full-course French dinner focused on locally sourced ingredients. Particularly memorable was an appetizer combining peaches with local burrata cheese—its balance of sweetness, richness, saltiness, and acidity was exquisite. The main dish featuring venison was tender beyond expectation; paired with berry sauce that enhanced its flavor even further—it left us amazed by its refined taste compared to other game dishes we'd tried elsewhere earlier that day! Dessert included semifreddo made from Chichibu’s specialty golden kabosu vinegar—a delightful combination where kabosu's refreshing tang complemented creamy sweetness alongside plum wine foam & tea cookies as perfect accents—leaving no space but still irresistible till last bite! Pairing it all perfectly recommended white wine from nearby vineyards elevated everything altogether! Breakfast next morning continued showcasing regional delights such as miso made using wild game meat or grilled rainbow trout among others reflecting bounty unique only here within every bite savored thoroughly fulfilling start before departure reminiscing best moments shared unanimously agreeing top-three favorites being appetizer venison dessert—all served right here making unforgettable culinary memories cherished forevermore! Lastly heartfelt gratitude goes towards ever-smiling attentive staff whose thoughtful gestures explaining each dish meticulously ensured utmost comfort throughout entire stay truly enhancing overall experience immensely appreciated indeed!

    A high-quality accommodation.

    I stayed in Room 203 of the KOIKE building. The accommodation is a registered tangible cultural property, and both its exterior and interior exude a unique charm. While many accommodations promote "Taisho Romanticism," it’s rare to find a hotel that preserves the original style so well while being beautifully renovated for modern use. The room's interior made me feel as if I had traveled back to the Taisho-Showa era, yet the water facilities were cleanly renovated and very hygienic. The cypress bath was particularly spacious and exceptional. However, since this room is separate from the building where meals and check-in are conducted, and because the stairs in this maisonette-style room are steep, I would recommend flat rooms in the MARUJU building for guests with mobility concerns. The minibar inside the refrigerator was complimentary, offering soft drinks like cider as well as beer and mini bottles of wine—a delightful service. I chose a plan with dinner and breakfast included, both of which were exceptionally high-quality. The meals featured local Chichibu ingredients with evident attention to detail—far more satisfying than those at some luxury hotels. The service was also extremely polite and left a great impression. Overall, it was an outstanding stay. I would love to stay here again when visiting Chichibu!

    Information about the potential hazards of the room's stairs.

    I have stayed at this accommodation three times, each time in a different room. While I understand the concept of preserving and renovating Meiji and Taisho-era merchant houses and traditional homes as a dispersed-style accommodation, there are some inconveniences (safety concerns) that cannot be overlooked when considering it as an accommodation where everyone should be able to stay safely and comfortably. In general, for accommodations used by a diverse range of people, universal design (design that is easy to use regardless of age, gender, or disability) feels essential. For example, in the room I stayed in this time, the steep staircase leading to the second-floor bed (approximately 55-degree angle with 30 cm risers and 21 cm treads) posed significant safety concerns for someone like me who is older (60 years old). It felt more like a dangerous challenge than an attraction. Adding handrails or other safety measures to such stairs would be helpful. Additionally, providing clear information about potential risks or precautions guests should take before booking could help prevent accidents or misunderstandings between both parties in the future.

    A charming accommodation with a traditional atmosphere.

    The Room retains a traditional atmosphere while being thoroughly cleaned, and the water facilities have been newly renovated, making it very clean. The air conditioning was sufficient, allowing for a comfortable stay. Being on the second floor, the view was excellent; we enjoyed a relaxing time sipping drinks while watching the Chichibu mountains and sunset. The cypress bath is highly recommended and exceeded expectations! Upon opening the bathroom door, there was a pleasant cypress aroma. The spacious bathtub allowed my husband, who is just under 180cm tall, to stretch his legs comfortably and relax. Dinner was served as a course meal with just the right amount—not too much or too little. The dishes were visually stunning, made with local Chichibu ingredients, and tasted delicious. Additionally, there was an exclusive Ichiro's Malt whiskey tasting set on the drink menu that elevated our experience! Tasting them side by side highlighted their unique aromas and flavors. Highly recommended for whiskey enthusiasts. The staff's thoughtful gestures were heartwarming—they introduced us to our Room and nearby sightseeing spots and attentively checked on drinks during dinner and breakfast without us having to ask first. Their proactive service left a great impression. They also kindly took commemorative photos for us. Since each Room has different layouts and atmospheres depending on where you stay, we look forward to trying another Room next time!

    I stayed here during my visit to Chichibu. Check-in was conducted at the Maruju building, which also houses a restaurant. Upon entering, I was greeted by a refined yet traditional atmosphere reminiscent of an old Japanese house, raising my expectations. While enjoying a welcome drink, the staff kindly explained accommodation details and provided information about Chichibu. This time, I stayed in Room 102, a maisonette-style room. According to the staff, this historical warehouse has been renovated while preserving its original beams and walls. The room is designed with two floors and features an open ceiling that offers a stunning view of the beams from below. Despite its historical ambiance, the room was impeccably clean with modern furniture and facilities that left me impressed. There was also a large hinoki cypress bath with a soothing aroma that provided great relaxation. Dinner was served at the restaurant in the Maruju building where we checked in. The dishes were made using plenty of local ingredients from Chichibu, allowing us to savor its culinary charm deliciously. We were particularly moved by one dish combining locally grown peaches with burrata cheese from Chichibu's cheese factory and shaku-shina pickles—a specialty of Chichibu! The main course featured grilled venison which had no unpleasant odor or toughness; it was my first time trying venison but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast followed suit with dishes crafted from local ingredients served in small portions so we could enjoy various flavors little by little—though I ended up eating too much in the morning! (laughs) Overall, this stay exceeded expectations. The staff members were warm and attentive with wonderful smiles throughout our visit. During meals they frequently checked on us to ensure smooth service for both food and drinks while refilling water just as needed—making dining experiences very pleasant. I’m curious about Koike building where I didn’t stay this time; perhaps next time I'll revisit Chichibu specifically for that experience! Thank you for providing such an amazing stay!

    The atmosphere of the Room is nice, but...

    Stayed in Room 201 of the "KOIKE・MIYATANI" building. The maisonette-style room had a toilet and bathroom on the first floor, with a living room featuring a sofa and bedroom on the second floor, making it very convenient. The retro atmosphere of the room and the scent of cypress in the bathroom were excellent. However, as mentioned in both hotel notices and comments on IKYU.com, there were significant soundproofing issues beyond expectations. Since the street in front of the room is part of Chichibu Shrine's main approach, there are many restaurants nearby with frequent traffic from cars and pedestrians. Voices from intoxicated individuals could be heard until around 2 AM. The walls and window glass are not soundproofed, so sounds resonate more than they would in an ordinary house. Additionally, due to tiled roads (?), car noises echoed significantly as well. Furthermore, several trees near a nearby parking lot attracted large numbers of birds whose loud chirping resonated around 6 PM at night and again at 4 AM in the morning. Honestly speaking, this is not a recommended room for those sensitive to noise while sleeping; although I personally don’t lose sleep over noise easily—each loud sound woke me up throughout my stay. Another issue was that sunlight directly streamed into rooms without curtains or blinds installed; adding blackout curtains with soundproofing features might help alleviate these problems somewhat—this aspect could use improvement given how nice everything else about this accommodation felt otherwise! Additionally disappointing was needing explicitly request receiving IKYU special wine benefits instead automatically being offered them upfront by staff members themselves during check-in process etc., which reflects poorly upon service quality overall despite likely understaffed conditions limiting attention-to-detail capabilities operationally-speaking here currently perhaps unfortunately     The best accommodation (excluding staff)

    Surrounded by the scent of wood, I enjoyed a quiet stay without a TV. However, as of writing this review, I must point out several shortcomings in the service: ◯ The address for the KOIKE and MIYATANI buildings was not listed on either the official website or IKYU.com, making it difficult to locate. While Hotel staff may be aware of this information, guests are not necessarily so. Even if it is announced that these buildings are separate from Maruju Building, there is still a chance guests could be assigned to KOIKE or MIYATANI upon check-in. This information should be clearly provided in advance—at least by the day before check-in—and details about amenities should also be available on your official website rather than relying solely on IKYU.com. ◯ While meals were generally acceptable, the fish dish was overly spicy and unpleasant to such an extent that I had to skip it entirely the next day. The spiciness overwhelmed any depth of flavor and was simply unbearable. Additionally, despite being told to strictly adhere to dinner start times, we waited 10 minutes for food after being seated. Dining simultaneously with others meant adjusting my pace accordingly; unfortunately, sitting next to someone noisily sniffing their nose made it uncomfortable for me to enjoy my meal at ease. ◯ For an establishment aspiring to be an auberge-style Hotel, certain aspects felt cheap: using the same silverware throughout courses caused sauces from previous dishes to mix; paper napkins at dinner were inappropriate (acceptable only for lunch). ◯ Breakfast leaned too heavily toward salty items—three types of pickles were unnecessary. ◯ Staff professionalism left much room for improvement: misdirecting seating arrangements or placing miso soup incorrectly (it belongs on the right side!) raised questions about hiring standards. At checkout when asked if there were issues with my Room—I replied none—but there certainly were many with staff behavior! Chairs during dinner weren’t pulled out until requested; farewells like "Thank you" lacked sincerity as they stared at devices without bowing properly—a clear sign of inadequate training. In conclusion: while 50,000 yen might justify this experience's value-for-money ratio—70,000 yen feels overpriced given these shortcomings!

    It is a good Hotel, so let's take one more step to further improve.

    This is a wonderful hotel brand that renovates traditional Japanese buildings. The rooms are overall comfortable, and the bath with the scent of cypress was particularly amazing. I ended up enjoying a long two-hour soak with an e-book in hand. There is no TV in the room, but I found that to be a positive aspect. For dinner, they served delicious Italian cuisine using ingredients from Chichibu. However, considering the accommodation cost, there were some areas where the quality of service felt slightly lacking. During midwinter, while the water was cold, hot water never came out at the sink even after waiting for a long time—this was true for both Room 101 and 102. If you run hot water in the bath first, then hot water comes out at the sink as well; otherwise, it seems like insufficient water flow prevents ignition of the heater when using only the sink. The room has various lighting options; however, I couldn’t figure out how to turn off two lights and had to unplug them directly from their outlets. Additionally, in Room 102, Wi-Fi was weak—if lying on the bed upstairs it didn’t reach at all. Sitting near the foot of the bed allowed just enough connection; it seemed like Wi-Fi coverage missed by about one meter. Breakfast was tasty but consisted mostly of pre-prepared dishes alongside rice and miso soup—it felt somewhat underwhelming. Furthermore, staying at NIPPONIA during New Year’s without being served traditional Osechi cuisine seemed inconsistent with its concept as a hotel brand emphasizing Japanese culture. With just slight improvements in service quality across these areas, this could become an undeniably exceptional accommodation experience!

    I went to see the Chichibu Night Festival.

    The location allowed us to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the festival that continued late into the night. Multiple heating appliances were provided, so we could stay in the Room wearing the provided yukata. The Room was clean and the meals were delicious, but I was surprised by how bad the self-service breakfast tea was. It was finally prepared by the time we finished eating, but there weren't enough teacups for the number of guests. Although it had color, it was just like hot water. The green tea provided in the Room was delicious, so it was very disappointing.

    I enjoyed the great location.

    I used it for a one-night, two-day trip to Chichibu for a visit to Mitsumine Shrine. It was my first time at NIPPONIA, and I enjoyed the charm of the old folk house. The room was quite warm as they had turned on the heating in advance, thank you. Dinner was delicious and satisfying, just as the reviews said. The only disappointment was the limited selection of wines. I wish they had at least some French wines... Also, I think the glasses could be a bit thinner, as it would enhance the taste of the drinks. I apologize for leaving some food, as we had a snack at the partnered whiskey bar before dinner. Sorry about that. I love Onsen, but the scent of the cypress bath was also soothing. I thought it was nice in its own way. (It takes a while for the water to fill up, which is a downside.) The staff were earnest and pleasant, allowing us to have a comfortable time. They even covered the cost of arranging a taxi for the next morning, for which I am grateful. I will use it again when I visit Chichibu. Thank you very much.

    Noisy

    I visited to relieve work fatigue by using a short break. The room facing the street was too noisy with truck noise, and I couldn't sleep. The property provided earplugs, but they were completely useless. I decided on this property at the last minute, thinking it would be fine if it was listed on IKYU, but I was disappointed. I planned to stay for two nights, but returned after one night due to the completely unrelaxing environment. I want a refund for one night's stay.

    Traditional Japanese House! Hinoki Bath! Two-Story Structure

    Traditional Japanese House! It had a wonderful atmosphere. There was a two-step security system with a key in front of the building and a key to the Room. However, both doors were thin and sliding? It felt like that, so I was a bit concerned about security. Haha. That might be part of the charm of this traditional house. There were a few books and a charger in the Room. Much appreciated. The heater warmed up the Room quickly. The stairs creaked a bit. I thought that was nice too. No TV! I was surprised, but that made it more enjoyable. Since it was an annex, the parking lot was far, so I parked in a nearby parking area. I would appreciate a little consideration for that. The cypress bath had a nice smell. It's spacious. The bathroom is cold, so it's best to soak in the bathtub.

    Stylish Traditional Japanese House

    The traditional house was beautifully renovated, making it easy to use and uplifting. The appliances and furniture were well-coordinated and did not interfere with the overall aesthetic. The food was incredibly delicious. The venison we had at night had no gamey smell at all. It was nice to see local ingredients creatively arranged. The white rice at breakfast was also tasty. The cold didn't bother us, but the train noise was loud, and there were no curtains, so it was bright in the morning. Light sleepers might find it difficult to sleep, so I deducted one star. Additionally, being separate from the main building and having small children made it a bit inconvenient to go back and forth. However, overall, we had a great time and are satisfied!

    Gourmet Stays

    I found out that the Nipponia Hotel is in Chichibu, which my husband and I had been curious about for a while, so we decided to make a Reservation. There was a Review mentioning drafts and noise, but although our Room was along the street, it didn't bother us much. The Showa retro Room is charming, but above all, the food was excellent. Dinner was a menu that paired well with alcohol, and the carefully prepared meal made us feel happy. The service from the hall staff was also pleasant. Breakfast had a variety of side dishes, and the rice cooked in a pot was so good that I ended up eating too much. It has become one of the Stays I definitely want to visit again.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    This is my second stay at NIPPONIA. The building has a charming atmosphere, the rooms and baths are well-maintained, and the service is courteous, making for a very pleasant stay. Thoughtful touches are found throughout the room, allowing for a comfortable night's stay. The meals are creatively prepared and taste delicious.

    I wanted to be satisfied with the accommodation, I guess~

    I stayed at KOIKE MIYATANI Building 201 for a solo trip. This was my second stay at a NIPPONIA hotel, following my visit to the VMG Group's Iyo-Ozu location. I couldn't help but feel that even though they share the same brand name (NIPPONIA), the difference in management companies makes a significant difference. I was aware that due to the renovation of an old house, there would be no soundproofing. I understand that unlike a brand-new, sparkling hotel, it might be easier for dust to accumulate, but finding a woman's hair tie on the sofa and cellophane tape stuck to the wall that didn't seem to be for repairs or anything was disappointing. While it's meant to blend into everyday life, leaving traces of previous guests is quite disheartening. The meals were good. The explanations of the dishes were interesting as well. The 12 small bowls for breakfast were visually refreshing. It's a bit sad that the best part was the complimentary ticket to the hot spring facility in front of the station. I don't think it's a particularly cheap accommodation, so I feel that it should satisfy those who prioritize "staying at this inn" over sightseeing.

    The meals were...

    This is my third time using Nipponia. I think I understand the concept well. This time as well, the room renovated from a warehouse was comfortable. However, the dinner was somewhat disappointing. Perhaps because the chef is young, there was an overuse of olive oil, and I left some of the food. I wonder if they could make it a bit lighter to bring out the ingredients more. Breakfast was decent.
