    Just the right level of service

    Although it’s part of the Hyatt group, there’s no excessive service, which actually makes it more comfortable. You bring necessary items such as toner and bath towels to your room from in front of the 1st-floor front desk, and I support this effort to reduce unnecessary waste. There is no dedicated parking lot, but there is a coin-operated parking area along the local road on the annex side. When loading and unloading luggage from the car, it was helpful that there was little traffic. The disappointing part is the coffee service. I use it every year when I stay, but there always seems to be some kind of issue—such as the machine not working properly or running out of milk. Overseas guests also seemed confused about how to use it. It might be better to switch to a simpler machine like those at convenience stores. I also feel sorry for the front desk staff having to deal with problems with the machine.

    Directly connected to the station.

    I stayed here to attend a conference. The hotel is directly connected to the subway station, so you won’t get wet even in the rain. The room was spacious and clean, which was great.

    Because the Room faces the road and is on the second floor, traffic noise was loud and I couldn’t sleep well. It would be better to improve soundproofing on the lower floors.

    I thought it was a twin room.

    Given the great location and the Hyatt brand, I expected it to be fairly pricey, but on a day I needed to be in Kyoto I was able to stay in an annex twin Room with a bathtub at a very reasonable rate. Since it was a twin, I naturally assumed there would be two beds, but when I entered there were three, which surprised me. The third was smaller—more like an extra bed. From the Room photos, I thought that area was a sofa, but it already had sheets on it and was set up as a bed. If it’s meant to be used as a bed, they might as well furnish it that way—perhaps this is some kind of labor-saving measure? Although I had expected the Room to feel quite spacious based on its size, visually it felt cramped for the most part, which was disappointing. That said, I have no complaints about the Facility features, and breakfast had more variety than expected and was enjoyable. If another good-value Plan comes up, I’d like to stay again.

    The location is excellent.

    I arrived early, but they promptly showed me to my Room, which was very helpful. The Room was clean and comfortable. For this price and location, I definitely recommend this over a business hotel. You used to be able to have coffee at the front desk, but now you can’t unless you bring a cup from your Room. It’s a bit inconvenient.

    A Hotel where you can enjoy your stay anytime.

    The guest rooms are kept very clean, so I can always relax during my stay. I’d like to stay again because the self-service coffee machine in the lobby serves delicious coffee.

    It was comfortable.

    Directly connected to the station, just one subway ride from Kyoto Station. The location was excellent, and the stay was very comfortable as well. On the morning of my stay, I received instructions for online check-in and checked in right away. It was very smooth. The Room layout was well designed, and the bathroom was easy to use. I also felt the shampoo and other items provided were good quality. I believe the amenities were KOSE Sekkisei. The bed was comfortable, and it was quiet with no noise from outside. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that there wasn’t any water or coffee in the Room. It’s not a big deal since you can just go to the elevator hall or downstairs to get them, but... I would definitely like to stay again.

    This was my first stay, and it was very convenient—right near the subway station with plenty of shops nearby. The Room was compact but spacious enough, and the bathroom was easy to use and comfortable. The lobby had free capsule coffee available 24 hours a day, and there was also capsule coffee in the Room. It’s an Accommodation that’s very convenient for both sightseeing and shopping, and I’d like to stay here again when I visit Kyoto. Thank you for your hospitality.

    If you can relax and enjoy coffee in your Room, everything is a 5.

    It’s a lovely Hotel. It was clean and I liked it, but I was disappointed that I couldn’t make coffee in the Room. I had to bring my mug to the lobby, which was inconvenient. My daily routine is to have coffee right after waking up while still in my sleepwear, so having to get changed, put on makeup, and change into shoes just to get coffee felt like a hassle. Everything else was very good, but I don’t think I’ll stay again. The coffee was delicious.

    We had another comfortable stay.

    As last year, I stayed at this Accommodation to take part in the Kyoto Marathon. The Room was very clean, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. If I have the opportunity to stay again, I’d like to try a drink that caught my interest at the bar near the lobby. Thank you very much.

    My family stayed here to participate in the Kyoto Marathon 2026.

    My family stayed at Hyatt Place Kyoto to participate in the Kyoto Marathon 2026. First of all, the location was excellent—the subway station is right in front of the Hotel, which made getting around extremely convenient. Travel before and after the event was smooth, and it was easy for us to move around to cheer and provide support. The area was also quiet and calm, with convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so we had no trouble during our stay. The staff handled our requests politely and promptly, which allowed us to feel at ease going into race day. Check-in and check-out were also smooth, and we could really feel their high level of hospitality. I think this is a very well-balanced Hotel both for marathon participation and as a base for sightseeing. I would like to stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

    It was good overall.

    The breakfast is good—worth having. It was a bit disappointing that quite a lot of noise could be heard in the Room. The luggage storage at check-out was helpful. There’s a supermarket nearby, but it closes at 20:30. The location is convenient. That’s about it.

    A minor hassle

    It was inconvenient to go all the way to the lobby just to get coffee. Since each brew takes time, I ended up standing around in the lobby for a while. I would appreciate it if drip coffee packs were provided in each Room. Also, considering the Accommodation Fee, the amenities felt rather basic. Although it is described as being directly connected to the station, the only elevator entrance is across the street, so in practice it felt different. I made an Online Credit Card Payment through the Reservation site, but at check-in I was asked to present my card. I was told there would be no additional charge, but I felt the reason it was required was not explained clearly enough. It did not leave a good impression. One of the breakfast staff members provided exceptionally pleasant service. They appeared to be an older person, and I appreciated their warm, natural hospitality that did not feel scripted.

    I used this for the first time to celebrate a birthday, but it was not as good as I expected. I was a bit disappointed.

    Overall, the satisfaction level is high, but...

    The staff's service was smart and pleasant, and the room's spaciousness and separate bathroom made for a highly satisfying accommodation. Additionally, the hotel is directly connected to Exit 6 of Marutamachi Subway Station, making it very convenient in terms of location. However, the price was a drawback. This time, we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days using an accommodation voucher from a hometown tax return program. The total cost was just under 47,000 yen (including a 30,000 yen voucher) without meals. Earlier this month, we stayed at Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto for about 26,000 yen with a larger room and breakfast included. Considering the staff's service as well, Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto came out on top overall.

    The photos on the hotel listing might be misleading. From the pictures, I imagined the hotel had a courtyard or garden. Rooms with a good view face Karasuma Street, but I heard that the noise from cars and motorcycles can be bothersome. I have stayed at another hotel along the same street before, and indeed, there were times when loud motorcycles passed by during the night. Although there is some greenery on the first floor, it’s not really a garden as described—it seems to be true. Considering the price was fairly high, I expected better facilities. However, I appreciated that coffee in front of the first-floor reception area is available 24/7 for self-service using cups from your room and that there’s a space where you can enjoy takeout meals comfortably. That said, since there are quite a few restaurants in this area, dining out might be a better option. This review reflects my evaluation based on price versus expectations rather than cost-performance alone. This time around, I planned to focus on enjoying my stay at this spacious room for relaxation purposes; however, if I had known beforehand about its casual nature with no garden and views limited to street-facing scenery, my evaluation would likely have been different. Additionally, since there's a 100% Cancellation Fee starting two weeks prior to check-in date, it may affect my decision for future stays as well.

    Thank you for upgrading my room as an IKYU Diamond Member. With 80% of the guests being international, I was very satisfied with the efficient compactness and adequate level of service. I greatly enjoyed using amenities such as the complimentary coffee machine and fitness room. I look forward to staying again.

    I will stay again.

    The location is very close to the subway, yet not in a crowded area. Our Room was in a separate building across the street, making it quiet and peaceful. The Facility was modern, clean, and comfortable. There doesn't seem to be parking available, so it might be better for those not traveling by car. There is also a small Japanese restaurant nearby that serves craft beer. Breakfast was excellent and satisfying. It would be nice if bathrobes were provided.

    Perfect for business use, ensuring comfort.

    I visited during the last week of August, amidst the intense summer heat. While I wanted to enjoy the complimentary Nespresso coffee in the lounge both when heading out and returning, it was inconvenient to have to bring along the large and heavy ceramic cup from my Room. I understand this is for eco-friendly reasons, but for travelers, this extra step can be quite burdensome. Many business guests seemed to spend extended periods in the lounge, so I believe it must be convenient for them.

    Convenient and Comfortable

    The facility is directly connected to the station, making it very convenient. The Room and amenities were more than sufficient for a comfortable stay. Additionally, the lobby is spacious, and the breakfast buffet offered items like nama-fu dengaku and pickles—foods I personally associate with a visit to Kyoto—which made for a highly satisfying experience.

    Convenient Hotel Directly Connected to the Station

    Great value for money, with clean and tidy rooms, making it a highly recommended hotel. Kyoto currently has many Western visitors, giving it an atmosphere that feels like being abroad. The breakfast offered a variety of options and was delicious. As mentioned in reviews, taking the mug from the room to get coffee can be inconvenient. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

    This is a newly opened Hotel.

    Thanks to the kindness of the front desk, I was upgraded to a more spacious Room in the annex. The annex is located across the road, and the Room was comfortable and quiet. Although the view was disappointing, I believe it will offer greenery in a few years. It was convenient to have laundry facilities, ice machines, water dispensers, and microwaves on each floor. I also enjoyed using the gym. Breakfast mainly featured Western dishes, possibly due to being an international hotel chain? They were delicious. For Japanese cuisine, it would have been nice to see more Kyoto-style "obanzai" dishes unique to this area. The curry with chunky vegetables was also very tasty. The location is directly above Marutamachi Station; however, for some reason, you end up taking a detour when exiting from there.

    It was a very comfortable 3-day stay.

    The Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Kyoto, with a spacious lobby and restaurant offering a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive an unexpected upgrade, which made my stay highly satisfying. I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    The Hotel is relatively new, so I had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was great, especially the curry which was particularly delicious. With a 2:00 PM checkout, I could take my time. I would like to use it again.
