    Beautiful accommodation filled with various services

    The staff at the reception, the room's open-air bath, the large public bath, the private bath, the room itself, lounge services, and ramen service were all excellent and made my stay enjoyable. However, one disappointing aspect was the dining experience and restaurant service. The person in charge of our dinner seemed to be a newcomer. Their language was casual, and when they brought ice to our table and accidentally dropped the tongs on it, instead of replacing them with new ones, they quietly returned them to the ice bucket. This made me concerned about their attentiveness. At breakfast buffet time as well, although there were many staff members present, dishes that had run out were not replenished unless pointed out by guests. Even after pointing it out, some staff responded with an unfriendly attitude which felt subpar for a hotel in this price range. It was disappointing that there were several staff members who lacked attentiveness. This is not written with ill intent but as someone who has stayed at various hotels across The whole country through IKYU.com; I must say that this hotel's breakfast taste was unfortunately among my least favorite so far. While personal preferences may vary regarding taste—compared to a lower-priced hotel I stayed at just before—it fell significantly short in quality. Since meals are also an important part of travel enjoyment; improving both content & service could elevate this place into becoming such an amazing destination worth revisiting multiple times given its other outstanding services & facilities!

    Luxurious and fully equipped

    The Hotel provided exceptional service that catered to every need, resulting in a highly satisfying stay. The Onsen was particularly impressive. The private open-air bath attached to the room, the large public bath, and the reserved private baths each drew from three different hot spring sources with varying pH levels. The room's open-air bath had the highest pH level and was designed for extended relaxation. There were also plenty of services available for light snacks when feeling peckish, and the Room was impeccably clean. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying one-night stay. If I had to point out any drawbacks, it would be the lack of a password on the Wifi network, raising security concerns, and a lack of creativity in the dessert served at dinner.

    Beer with dinner

    This is my third time staying at this Hotel, but the beer I ordered during dinner was half foam. The water was left in a bottle under the sun, and I had to open it myself. It was disappointing compared to my previous experiences.

    The outdoor hot spring bath is empty.

    After pressing the button to fill the open-air bath, I found that only about one-third of the tub was filled when I was ready to enter. Despite adding water several times, it came out very slowly and never filled up completely. Additionally, there was a faint sound of water leaking out, causing it to gradually empty. In the end, it became too cold to continue trying. It might be due to wear and tear on the wooden tub causing a hole or just bad luck, but it was disappointing nonetheless.

    This is my fourth stay, and I am completely satisfied every time.

    I have used several other facilities of Kyoritsu Resort, but La Vista Kusatsu Hills is definitely my favorite. Once again, everything was perfect—the staff's attentive service, the lounge service, the atmosphere inside the facility, the room, and both dinner and breakfast! I had a wonderful time during my 2-night stay. I can't wait to visit again; until then, I'll work hard!

    Had an amazing time!

    This time, my 83-year-old mother wanted to visit Kusatsu to celebrate my granddaughter's retirement, so I made a Reservation at this Hotel that my spouse and I enjoyed last year. Thanks to the IKYU discount, we were able to indulge in luxury beyond expectations, leaving both my mother and daughters extremely satisfied. The Room was spacious, and the bed was very helpful for my mother. The meals were also prepared in bite-sized portions for her convenience. We had an absolutely wonderful time.

    It was truly unfortunate.

    This is solely my personal evaluation of the service I received. I was looking forward to my first visit to Kusatsu Onsen. Although it may be too late to mention now, I chose the all-inclusive option hoping to enjoy both food and drinks. However, the drink service was not just disappointing but felt completely unacceptable on a personal level. There was even a note on the table saying "Please enjoy your food and drinks with our all-inclusive service," but it seemed like whoever wrote it did not understand its meaning. While I personally would not consider revisiting, I hope you continue striving for improvement for the sake of Kusatsu's wonderful hot springs.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    Overall, I was very satisfied. The parking guidance upon arrival and the check-in with complimentary drinks at the lobby lounge were smooth. The room had an open-air cypress bath, with separate bedroom and living areas, providing a relaxing space. The public bath initially seemed a bit small but was never crowded and very comfortable. I appreciated the idea of having four private baths available for use without reservations. The lounge near the public bath offered free drinks, snacks, and even late-night ramen in the evening. Dinner was a delicious full-course Western meal, while breakfast featured a buffet with a wide variety of options. Although it is slightly away from Yubatake Hot Spring Field, its elevated location offers great views, and it’s about a 10-minute walk downhill to Yubatake; I recommend walking there and taking the shuttle bus back uphill. This is one of my recommended accommodations!

    It was extremely disappointing.

    This was my second stay at the accommodation. I returned because I was very satisfied last time, but this time the dinner was extremely disappointing. All the dishes served were cold, hard, and not tasty. Even the service was lacking—at a regular restaurant, if cutlery is dropped while clearing plates, at least an apology would be expected, but here they seemed completely unfazed even after making loud noises! No one came to ask about the complimentary drink service either. The dinner experience was very unpleasant and left me feeling sad.

    I am very satisfied and would like to use it again.

    It was a very comfortable stay, and everything was satisfying. The service was just right, and I was extremely pleased with the amenities, meals, and Room provided. I highly recommend everyone to use the open-air bath with a panoramic view on the top floor. There is a limousine bus to Yubatake at night, but it’s not too far to walk either, making it a very convenient location. The staff who served us during dinner provided excellent service, making it an enjoyable time. I would definitely recommend this place to others as well.

    I had an unfortunate experience due to unforeseen circumstances.

    There are times when troubles caused by natural phenomena (such as the freezing of the bath) are unavoidable, and I understand that. However, after reporting it, unexpected responses compounded the issue, resulting in a very disappointing stay experience. Just when we were talking about wanting to come back after dinner, a problem arose that turned everything upside down. In the morning, I requested to speak with the person in charge but was told they were absent for the morning. The inability to express dissatisfaction might indicate there are various issues with staff arrangements.

    Satisfied with the Room, the food could be better.

    Three adults stayed in a maisonette-type room. The room was spacious, with two separate bedrooms on the second floor and space on the first floor, allowing us to relax like at home without worrying about each other's waking and sleeping times. The open-air bath was clean, and the lounge service and views were all excellent. We expected the meals to be of the same level, but they were somewhat disappointing. It wouldn't be a concern if it were a buffet, but with course meals, we expected a bit more in terms of taste. Out of the two nights, I thought it might have been nice to eat something different outside for one night. However, the overall evaluation was satisfactory, and it was a recommended property.

    Heartwarming hospitality and a comfortable Onsen Property

    It was a very memorable stay. Although the arrival time did not match the shuttle service schedule from Kusatsu Station, and we had to walk from the station, which was a bit challenging, the comfort of the room and the warm hospitality of the Ryokan quickly made us forget the fatigue. The room was well-equipped, and we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen in the attached bathtub. The bed was also very comfortable, allowing us to have a restful sleep. The dinner arrangements were thoughtful, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, leaving us very satisfied. Finally, we used the shuttle service from the Ryokan to Karuizawa Station, which saved us a significant amount of travel time. Overall, it is a highly recommended Property, and we would love to stay again.

    I had a great time.

    It was our first family trip in five years. The Onsen was amazing, and we were very satisfied. However, I couldn't use the indoor slippers because I wasn't sure if they were new or reused. I should have asked about it. I would love to visit other Kyoritsu Resorts as well. Thank you very much.

    Not bad, but

    An impression similar to an extension of a Business Hotel. In that sense, the cost performance may not be very good. It might be targeted at people in their 20s to 30s. The view is very nice. Overall, it's not bad, but I don't think there will be a repeat visit.

    It will be addictive.

    This is my second stay. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay again and felt like saying "I'm home." This time, I also enjoyed the view of the snowy landscape of Kusatsu from the Hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were as satisfying as last time. I also enjoyed conversations with the staff at the restaurant. I was impressed by the thoughtful services everywhere, such as the sweets and tea service placed in front of the elevator after dinner, and how they have evolved. The draft beer, sausages, seasonal soup, and night soba available in the lounge were very delicious, and each was carefully prepared, leaving me very satisfied. I apologize for the very personal opinion, but I was looking forward to the curry udon made with the exquisite curry and himokawa udon served at breakfast last time, but this time it was soba, and the ice cream after the bath was not Pino, which was (personally) disappointing. Lastly, I realized that the smiles of all the staff are what truly enhance the comfort of the Hotel. I will definitely be back again.

    I stayed here for a ...

    I stayed here for a Kanreki celebration! A staff member named Yamashita prepared a cake and flowers, making it a very wonderful Kanreki celebration! The hotel was clean, the four private baths, the view from the large public bath, and the quality of the meals were all impeccable! I would love to use it again!

    Dinner Time Setting

    The Facility was new and I was very satisfied. However, I was confused by the dinner time settings of 5 PM and 8 PM. It seems that you cannot choose the 5 PM slot unless you make a reservation in advance. For those who lead a regular life, having dinner from 8 PM is nothing but a pain. I didn't find it tasty at all. I hope for improvements, such as making it a mandatory selection item when completing the reservation. Alternatively, since the breakfast buffet was delicious, how about making dinner a buffet as well? That way, you can have dinner at your preferred time. These days, we live in an era of diversity. I believe that responding to various needs will lead to business continuity. Please consider this.

    A wonderful Onsen Hotel

    I think it's a very wonderful Hotel. If there's anything, it might just be a matter of personal preference. If I had to say, the Room was a bit cold, and the slippers for indoor use were a bit difficult to walk in. The food had the gentle taste typical of high-class cuisine, and even as an older person, I felt that way. Especially for breakfast, I wished for a bit more distinctive seasoning. However, the lounge service was truly wonderful. I've been to various places, but the quality here was really high. Unlike other Hotels that often focus on alcohol, this place was perfect for us who don't drink alcohol. Needless to say, the bath was also excellent. It seems to be aimed at younger people, but I would like to visit again.

    This is the third time.

    Every time, 100% satisfaction. The Facility, environment, and the hospitality of all the staff Dinner, breakfast, and lounge service were all excellent. I stayed for two nights, but it was so comfortable that every time I check out, I feel sad wanting to stay longer. The restaurant staff were different for each of the two nights, but both were very kind. Thank you very much. I made requests to the staff waiting in the parking lot and the front desk staff, and everyone responded pleasantly and courteously. There are many attractions here, but above all, the response of the staff is wonderful. I'm already looking forward to staying again next year.

    This time, after more than 10 years, I chose Kusatsu Onsen for a trip with my mother. Although my mother has traveled a lot, since my sisters' children were born, she has only been on hectic trips, so she seemed excited about this adult-only trip after more than 10 years. Perhaps because of that... she had some strange interactions with the staff? Like asking if the rooms are fully booked today or mentioning that she (I) have stayed here several times... She was asking questions that seemed to trouble the staff or saying things that were difficult to respond to... I was frozen, thinking that if I said something back, it would turn into a fight or argument and ruin the trip... but the staff skillfully handled the situation, and I was just filled with apologies to the staff m(_ _)m The hotel was impeccable, with the room, the food, and all other hospitality being perfect! All the staff were young, but their service was truly impressive!! They responded politely to my mother's strange questions, which might have made her seem like a nuisance... Thank you so very much m(_ _)m Next time, when I stay here again... I would like to come with friends or my husband for a relaxing visit. Thank you very much m(_ _)m m(_ _)m

    Hotel as per the Review

    At Kusatsu Onsen, there was an open-air Onsen bath on the room terrace, and a newly built scenic bath on the top floor, with amazing lounge service. The food was delicious, and with three different Onsen sources, it was a very satisfying stay. The Little Red Riding Hood-themed room was also lovely. I would love to use it again.

    The hot water is good.

    This was my third stay. After several visits, I feel a slight lack of variety in the meal options. The property, facility, and customer service are always excellent, and I am very satisfied. As for the water, it is incomparable to other regions' onsen; the water is simply excellent. I always long for this water to be nearby.

    I was able to relax.

    The quality of the onsen feels really good. This is our second stay, and both the onsen in the room and the large public bath in the facility warmed us to the core and suited us very well as a couple. We had a multiple night stay, and for both days, the same female staff member served us dinner. Her hard-working attitude was very commendable. She was easy to talk to, not pushy, and was the kind of staff member you want to support. There is a shuttle service from the tourist spots, but we couldn't get on because it was full. However, despite being outside of regular hours, they immediately provided a second shuttle, which we greatly appreciated. We were very satisfied with the property and had a highly satisfying trip. Thank you very much, and we will make a reservation again.

    Stay on your birthday

    The onsen and meals were very delicious. The staff were wonderful people, and I would like to stay again. However, the dryness in the room was severe, and even using a humidifier, I couldn't sleep at all and woke up with a sore throat. There was also dust accumulated, so I'm not sure if the room was unsanitary or just dry, but it was very disappointing. I thought it was a waste for such a lovely property. I would like to stay again, so I sincerely hope for improvements by then. Thank you very much.

    Unchanging excellence in service

    I always stay here when visiting Kusatsu. The charm is that the rooms have hot springs. On the top floor, there are various services like drinks, snacks, and sausages, so even if you can only choose a late meal time, you can satisfy your hunger and wait comfortably. The late-night soba noodles served at night are also excellent, but my son came back saying he couldn't line up because it was too crowded. I would be happy if there could be a little more ingenuity in that area.

    The hot spring is wonderful.

    We stayed with three people. The room had two bedrooms and was spacious, but Grimm's Fairy Tales? Where? It felt like a simple room, and the entrance and hallway were dimly lit. I think it would be better not to attach phrases like "inspired by Grimm's Fairy Tales." The natural hot spring in the large bath was extremely pleasant. The wooden lockers in the changing room seemed warped from the humidity of the hot spring, and the keys wouldn't turn, making it impossible to lock them. I tried 5 to 6 lockers before finally finding one that worked, and my friends who came with me said the same thing as they struggled to find usable lockers. There aren't many lockers, so they should be repaired. There is a shampoo bar in the changing room where you can choose your favorite shampoo to take into the bathroom, but they are all cheap ones sold at supermarkets, giving a very common feel. It dampens the mood. There are other options in the bathroom, which are sufficient. I think they should get rid of the shampoo bar. I expected the hairdryer and showerhead to be ReFa like at Dormy Inn, but both were ordinary, and the hairdryer was excessively hot with weak airflow, making it hard to dry my hair and leaving me sweaty. Even if it's not ReFa, I wish they would at least provide something a bit better. It's quite inconvenient that you can only choose dinner at either 5 PM or 8 PM. Moreover, the duration was too long, leaving little time for an evening stroll around the Yubatake, making it hectic. I was very pleased that the lounge beer was free. However, when the server displayed "out of beer," I informed the staff and waited in a chair for it to be refilled, but there was no notification even after a long wait. When I went to check, it had already been refilled. Since I was waiting in a visible spot, I thought they could at least have told me it was done. Even though breakfast was on a time reservation system, they started clearing away the dishes even though we hadn't finished eating, and there was no replenishment of the buffet dishes. The door was closed as if to say, "Hurry up and leave." The food was reasonably tasty, and the natural hot spring was excellent, but the hospitality was still that of a business hotel. You shouldn't expect too much of an elegant atmosphere.
