    Birthday Trip

    We stayed at the accommodation for my girlfriend's birthday trip. Thank you very much. At the reception in the lobby, we were seated and given a clear and polite explanation, which was very easy to understand. When heading to our room floor, we were kindly escorted to the elevator, which made us feel great. The room was very clean with excellent amenities, and above all, the view was amazing. During the day, we could see distant snowy mountains, and at night, the town was beautifully illuminated by streetlights, creating an emotional atmosphere. The onsen in our room had perfectly warm water; after soaking for a long time, we could sit on a bench next to it to relax further. Later on, we went to the first-floor restaurant for dinner. The meal was luxurious with attentive staff who served each dish at just the right timing so that we could enjoy our meal without any dissatisfaction. Since it was a birthday plan, they brought out a cake at the end of dinner. I didn’t know when they would bring it out either but it came at such perfect timing that I managed to surprise her wonderfully—this made me really happy! Thank you so much. Finally during checkout as we left our room I felt like I didn’t want to leave because of how satisfied I was with everything here! If there’s another opportunity in future—I’d love staying again! Truly thank-you!!

    A Long-Awaited Experience

    I go on Onsen trips several times a year, but I often find issues such as outdated or dirty facilities, rooms with unpleasant odors or moldy smells, and meals that are not great or don't suit children’s tastes. However, none of these applied to La Vista Kusatsu—everything was perfect! The dinner course in particular was amazing; even my picky-eater kids (high school and middle school) ate everything without complaint, which surprised me. Being able to enjoy the Onsen in the private indoor bath was wonderful, and the large public bath with three types of baths and a sauna allowed us to fully relax (I lost count of how many times we went in...). I look forward to visiting other facilities by Kyoritsu Resort in the future.

    The Onsen, room, and...

    The Onsen, room, and meals were all highly praised; however, it seems the handmade-style bread was too sweet and not very tasty, which was a bit disappointing.

    Shuttle service from Karuizawa was available, which is why I chose this place. The bus was punctual, comfortable, and the driver was very pleasant—thank you! The bath facilities were excellent, including the large public bath, private baths, and the open-air bath in the room. Dinner started well with warm plates and delicious cabbage rolls. However, the bouillabaisse that followed was cold; the white fish was tough and even the plate was cold... Even after mentioning it to staff, it seemed to be ignored. Interestingly enough, my partner's dish had a warm plate and tender fish. Customer service varied greatly depending on who attended us—some were friendly while others were indifferent. That said, there were many services available that didn’t require interaction with staff—a thoughtful idea! It allowed us to enjoy what we needed without any unpleasant experiences.

    Once again, completely satisfied!

    This is my fifth stay. I always stay for 2 nights and 3 days, and I never get tired of it. The staff's hospitality is always courteous and pleasant. The entire facility, including the room, is beautiful and comfortable. The lounge service every hour is highly satisfying. The dinner course meals are delicious with just the right portions. Breakfast is a buffet with a perfect variety, and I enjoyed it to the fullest on both mornings. The Onsen was relaxing, and I enjoyed it multiple times during my stay. I had no inconveniences during my visit and spent a wonderful time here. I'm full of gratitude for the staff's excellent hospitality. I look forward to staying again next year!

    First Stay in Kusatsu Accommodation

    This was my first visit to Kusatsu, and I stayed at the famous La Vista. To put it simply: The services were abundant and comfortable. The ramen was delicious. I left with a full stomach. It was, without exaggeration, perfect.

    Completely satisfied.

    The service until 8 PM included beer and sausage snacks after a bath. Although it was before dinner, I couldn't resist enjoying them. The sausages were so delicious that I even had seconds. At the evening dining, the dedicated staff provided exceptional hospitality with attentive care, allowing me to have a wonderful time. All the staff demonstrated great hospitality, making me feel indulged in extraordinary luxury. This was my first trip to Kusatsu, and it left me with wonderful memories and a positive impression.

    First-time Accommodation

    This was my first stay. The access was convenient as there was a shuttle service from the bus terminal after visiting the Yubatake hot spring area. The room was lovely, and the meals were delicious. However, I expected to be offered coffee, tea, or Viennese coffee at the end of the meal, but there was no mention of Viennese coffee, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, I had a very relaxing time.

    Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    The Facility was clean and well-maintained. The welcome drinks, snacks, and luxurious lounge were filled with hospitality. It was a bit disappointing that the lounge closed strictly on time without any leeway, but overall, I had a very satisfying stay. However, the main dish for dinner being slightly thick-cut roast beef was a bit underwhelming. While it was delicious, as the main course of the meal, something like a thicker grilled steak with more impact would have been even better. Considering the relatively reasonable price for a room with an open-air bath attached, I would definitely like to stay again!

    The breakfast was delicious.

    I didn't notice during the reservation that the room was only available from 5 PM, so I strolled around Yubatake. The onsen was great. The late-night ramen was also popular. The quality of breakfast was excellent.

    I arrived before check-in, but the hotel kindly stored my luggage and placed it in my room. Additionally, I was able to use the shuttle service even before check-in. The shuttle bus was convenient, running to the bus terminal during the day and directly to Yubatake at night. Thanks to this, I could fully enjoy Yubatake. The hotel was exclusively for adults with no inbound tourists, providing a very calm and satisfying stay. The lounge was also very enjoyable. Although it's far away and not easy to visit often, I would love to stay here again when visiting Kusatsu Onsen.

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate a birthday. From the shuttle service we reserved in advance from Karuizawa Station to the attentive care from check-in to check-out, it was a truly pleasant stay from start to finish. This time, we chose a plan with two meals included, and both dinner and breakfast were visually stunning and delicious, leaving us completely satisfied. The message plate we requested in advance was beautifully prepared, making it a successful surprise. We were deeply touched by the warm hospitality and thoughtfulness of all the staff members. Additionally, within the facility, we enjoyed light snacks and drinks offered at different times of day in a calm lounge atmosphere where we could relax leisurely. Since our visit coincided with just after a holiday period, we were able to use almost all of the private baths without any wait, allowing us to enjoy an incredibly luxurious time. The entire facility was clean overall; both the onsen and room were comfortable, making this birthday trip truly memorable. When visiting Kusatsu again next time, I would definitely like to stay at Lavista Kusatsu Hills once more! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

    Request for handrails to be installed in the large public bath.

    It was very disappointing that there were no handrails installed for support when entering or exiting both the indoor and outdoor Onsen in the large bath area. There was only a thick log placed at the entrance, and I had nothing to hold onto when exiting the outdoor Onsen, which caused me to fall and scrape my foot. Although I received a bandage and medicine at the front desk, they did not ask about the reason for my injury, and their response was not very considerate, which was also disappointing. I checked the private baths, but they also lacked handrails. I hope you will consider installing them in the future. Other than that, the Room was clean, the Onsen water was great, and the meals were delicious, except for the Mont Blanc dessert at dinner. The ice cream and snacks available after bathing were a nice touch.

    Everything was excellent.

    I stayed for one night and two days. It was my first time visiting Kusatsu Onsen, and I was unsure which hotel to choose, but staying at La Vista turned out to be the right decision. The hospitality was truly exceptional. Just approaching the front desk area, the staff noticed and kindly came out to assist me. Previously, when I stayed at La Vista Toyosu, there was no greeting upon arrival, and even when I spoke to someone at the front desk, they ignored me (it felt like they were too busy to be bothered), so I was surprised by how different this experience was despite being part of the same chain. The meals and the view from my room were both fantastic. If given another opportunity, I would love to stay here again!

    This was my first visit to Kusatsu, and I stayed at this accommodation. I had a highly satisfying and wonderful time—thank you very much. Regarding the room, there were no issues except that the entrance door was heavy and difficult to open. Thanks to the excellent hospitality, service, and onsen, it turned out to be a great trip. Having an onsen open-air bath attached to the room allowed me to relax and enjoy the onsen at my own pace, fulfilling one of the reasons for traveling. I was also able to use all of the private onsens without waiting due to good timing, which made for a refreshing bathing experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was amazed by how well-rounded the hospitality and service were. All staff members were incredibly kind in their responses, which made me very happy. The only regret is that I forgot to reserve dinner time in advance; as a result of contacting them last minute on the previous day, my dinner ended up being scheduled late in the evening. This meant I wasn’t hungry during their night ramen service time and missed out on trying their tomato ramen that I had been looking forward to. The meals were delicious as well; all staff serving us provided just enough interaction and explanations about each dish, making this accommodation truly memorable for me. Thank you so much—I hope I'll have another opportunity to stay here again!

    60th Birthday Celebration

    Overall, I was very satisfied. The dinner was delicious, but... Everything was lukewarm; maybe it depends on the server? I mentioned during the Reservation that it was a once-in-a-lifetime birthday celebration, but the information wasn't shared, which made me sad. Other than that, I thought it truly lived up to being Premium.

    It was a bit disappointing, but overall satisfying.

    This was my first time staying here. I arrived by car, but there was no drop-off area. Although this was mentioned in the information, I thought there might be a space nearby to unload luggage, but there wasn’t. There was a parking lot just before arrival with three staff members present. None of them approached me or offered assistance, so I had to back up carefully while watching for cars behind me and call out to them myself before finally being guided. This experience dampened my mood right from the start. The facility, service, and meals were excellent overall; however, at the end of the meal, I was asked to sign a receipt that had incorrect details and needed correction. If it weren’t for the initial parking issue, this probably wouldn’t have bothered me as much. I thoroughly enjoyed services like beer and drinks, ice cream and food offerings—these were very satisfying! The shuttle service to Yubatake also made for a wonderful experience during our two-night stay. I would love to stay here again in the future and will try to handle things better on my end next time as well. Thank you very much!

    Family Trip

    From the moment we arrived, the staff came out to help carry our luggage. During check-in, we received a thorough and polite explanation. On the way to our room, even the cleaning staff greeted us warmly. The room was spotless and very clean. The person in charge of dinner was friendly and provided detailed explanations while serving dishes at just the right timing. The delicious meal lifted our spirits, and we enjoyed taking photos of the beautiful tableware with our phones. As soon as we got to our room, we received a call from the front desk informing us that I had left my phone on a table. When I went to retrieve it, they kindly handed it back saying "This must be yours." I joked about forgetting it because of how amazing the food was, and several staff members smiled warmly and told me to enjoy my stay. There were various services offered depending on the time of day which made for an exciting experience. Although I found the Onsen water slightly hot, it helped relieve my daily fatigue. It was my first time staying here but after discussing with my family, we've decided this is where we'd like to stay again when visiting Kusatsu in the future. Thank you for adding wonderful memories at summer's end!

    The quality of meals and yukata has declined.

    I have used this accommodation multiple times, but during my stays last month and this time, I felt the quality of the meals had declined compared to before. Specifically, the fish dishes for dinner included sweetfish and cutlassfish. The sweetfish had hard bones that made it inedible; if using sweetfish, it should be fried more thoroughly so that even the bones are crispy and edible. Additionally, the cutlassfish had a slightly fishy smell that my wife couldn’t tolerate. The dessert was overly sweet; reducing its sweetness would be better. The yukata and nightwear had an unpleasant odor. Previously, they were crisp and odor-free.

    Accommodation full of hospitality

    Despite arriving in the rain via the shuttle service from Karuizawa, many staff members were waiting with umbrellas, showcasing exceptional hospitality and raising our expectations. After moving to the room, we were impressed not only by its charming design but also by its elegant and stylish wooden interior details and thoughtful touches. For dinner, we were delighted to enjoy dishes by Manos, including stuffed cabbage rolls, steak, and even Wiener coffee—a truly blissful experience. Additionally, the lounge offered various creative amenities that we thoroughly appreciated. The onsen was incredibly satisfying as well; it was such a fulfilling stay that I wished for more time to enjoy everything fully. I am grateful for this wonderful experience and look forward to visiting again soon!

    Kusatsu Onsen is the best!

    This was my first stay at the accommodation, and I loved the view from the open-air bath. The dinner was very delicious, and I couldn't finish it because I was so full. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with very fresh salad vegetables. In the morning, stepping out onto the room's balcony and hearing the birds chirping was incredibly soothing. The amenities were well-equipped, and I enjoyed relaxing at the complimentary food and drink corner. It’s a hotel that makes me want to stay again!

    The service is excellent.

    This was my fourth stay. Overall, it was a 5-star experience, but I would like to mention a few points that caught my attention. It would be nice to have a lightweight vest-type outerwear suitable for this season when going out in yukata. The one provided in the room feels too thick for this time of year. The geta sandals available at the front desk are difficult to wear for those with smaller feet as the straps are too loose. It would be helpful to have lint rollers or similar tools in the large public bath's changing area for cleaning the floor, as I noticed hair on it. I also suggest upgrading the hairdryers to ones with higher airflow capacity, such as Dyson or ReFa models, which many accommodations now provide. Regarding dinner, while I appreciated the fish dish (ayu meunière) served this time, I believe either changing the type of fish or preparing ayu as simple salt-grilled would taste much better. Ayu has too many bones and doesn’t seem well-suited for meunière preparation; both my parents who stayed here previously and my companions this time shared this opinion. The room, bath facilities, and other services were satisfying overall. As a high-class accommodation, I hope improvements will be made so that everyone feels their stay is worth every penny spent!

    The staff is excellent!

    The staff provided excellent service and were truly wonderful. Thank you very much. My father greatly enjoyed the dinner course, and we appreciated the recommendations of local Gunma sake for my sake-loving father. However... breakfast was disappointing. Perhaps my expectations were too high as I usually stay at Dormy Inn. Also, the loungewear was uncomfortable. The loungewear at Dormy Inn is much better. The open-air bath in the Room stopped running quickly, so my mother had to keep refilling it with water. There might have been a proper method, but there was no explanation provided. When asked if I would like to visit again, honestly... Asakusa's Nono seems more appealing. Having stayed at Dormy Inn and other Kyoritsu Resort properties many times before, perhaps my expectations were set too high.

    I made a reservation because the reviews were good, and as expected, it was a comfortable and cozy hotel. I was so excited throughout my stay that I wished I could have stayed longer. However, it was a bit disappointing that the room had limited table and storage space. Also, there were few sinks in the bathroom and lockers (and limited space), which might be an issue if fully booked. That said, overall, both the room and other facilities were clean and wonderful!

    Overall, it was great.

    I stayed for one night. The staff were very kind, and it was a comfortable Hotel. There were two points of concern: 1. The smell near the entrance (outside). When I arrived, I couldn't identify the smell, but upon leaving, I realized it came from the kitchen. It was the scent of grilled fish served during breakfast, which had a strong fishy odor that bothered me. 2. Dinner. Although it started as Western cuisine, rice sets (with an option for cheese) were suddenly served later on. This seemed unnecessary as there was no consistency in the menu and we were already full from eating bread earlier. It might have been better to exclude this item from the menu altogether. Other than that, the bath and Facility were excellent. Thank you for your hospitality!

    It feels like stepping into a fairy tale.

    The garden, building, and interior all had an adorable atmosphere reminiscent of Grimm’s fairy tales. The open-air bath in the Room was very relaxing. Plenty of towels were provided, and the large public bath was spacious with several types of baths, including indoor and open-air options. It was also great to enjoy the Onsen in the private baths with different spring sources. The shuttle bus between the Hotel and the bus center was convenient. There was also Shuttle Service to Yubatake; it was pouring rain that day, but they pulled up as close to the entrance as possible so we wouldn’t get too wet, which we really appreciated. The dining area also had a lovely atmosphere with stained glass. The food was delicious as well. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    The quality of the spring water at Kusatsu Onsen is excellent.

    During the journey, I was bitten by a mosquito on my heel and it was itchy, but soaking in the hotel's onsen made the itch disappear as if by magic. The room had a slight sulfur smell, but the quality of the spring water seemed authentic. This is my second stay at this hotel; the first was in early spring and this time in summer. The temperature of the room's onsen was too hot to enter immediately this time, whereas it was just right during my previous visit. It seems winter might be the best season for enjoying an onsen. If you include meals, you'll feel too full to try other Kusatsu Onsen delicacies, so perhaps choosing a plan without dinner could be a good option. The bed was slightly firm.

    The view from the Room was amazing.

    The room had an Onsen open-air bath, but the public bath was small, and the private open-air baths were often unavailable, which was disappointing. The lounge offered services like draft beer, which was a nice touch, but it felt cramped and lacked the relaxing resort atmosphere. We were looking forward to staying at this new Hotel, but for a couple in their 60s, we found that Kiyono Niwa of the same Kyoritsu Resort group suited us better.

    Time is running out!

    I stayed at the accommodation for her birthday! When we arrived at the hotel in heavy rain, a hotel staff member kindly brought us an umbrella despite getting soaked, and I already felt it was a wonderful hotel even before checking in! The service was excellent, and the lounge offered different items depending on the time, making it endlessly enjoyable! It became such a great memory that I would love to stay here again.
