    My Son’s First Trip

    I was deeply moved by the warm hospitality of all the staff. This was our first trip with our 0-year-old son, so we were a bit anxious, but every employee remembered his name and spoke to him kindly. They also thoughtfully helped by warming up baby food and even making rice porridge, which was truly a great support for us. The all-you-can-drink alcohol and snacks in the lobby, the complimentary drinks in the Room, and the delicious meals were all excellent and very satisfying. It was a wonderful Accommodation that we would love to visit again—not only for families with children, but also just as adults!

    We were very satisfied.

    I’ve stayed at Hakone Ryokan in the same price range many times, and this was one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve ever had. With stunning views, I could enjoy the Onsen and meals, turn off the TV, and truly relax while letting myself sink into the surroundings. The view depends on the weather, but it was a wonderful Ryokan that made me want to come back.

    Thank you for a wonderful one-night stay.

    We made a Reservation for our honeymoon with a Plan including one night and two meals. This time, we were upgraded to a larger Room, and we truly enjoyed a wonderful stay. The Room was spacious and relaxing, and the excellent taste was evident in every detail—from the furniture down to the smallest glass. The amenities were also well stocked, and we especially appreciated being able to choose bath products from multiple brands at the large public bath. This Accommodation has only 18 rooms, so it feels pleasantly intimate. Since it was a weekday and there were few guests, both dinner and breakfast were served in our Room, allowing us to fully enjoy privacy along with attentive service at a relaxed pace. The meals were creative Japanese kaiseki cuisine, and we were completely satisfied with both the quality and quantity. As it was our honeymoon, they kindly offered us a complimentary drink service and even decorated our dessert plate—we were truly touched by their warm hospitality. The self-service coffee bar in the lobby was also very unique: choosing the beans, grinding them ourselves, and brewing fresh coffee was a great experience—and it tasted authentic and delicious. We have stayed at many luxury Accommodations before, but this time became an exceptional stay that satisfied all five senses—sight, body comfort, taste, everything. Thank you very much for such a wonderful night.

    We stayed as a family. They were very kind and accommodating to guests with children, so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay with peace of mind. What we loved about this Accommodation was that the spa and meals could all be enjoyed in the Room. With children, getting around can be difficult, so we truly appreciated that everything could be taken care of in the Room.

    My wife and I stayed for one night. We had a wonderful time. The Facility, the Room, and above all the staff’s hospitality were outstanding. I’ve decided to add it to my personal list of favorite Accommodations. My wife and I have already said we will definitely come back. She seemed to really love it as well. It’s also close to the city center, so we felt it’s an Accommodation we’d like to visit again and again. Thank you very much.

    Everything is wonderful!!

    This was my first stay here. The entire property and the Room were spotless, making for a very comfortable visit. The attendant provided warm, attentive service with a smile, adding thoughtful words at every step. The meals were outstanding—seasonal mountain and sea delicacies enhanced by the chef’s exceptional touch. In addition, the view from the Room was beyond words. After working hard each day, I’d love to return to Gen-san to enjoy an escape from everyday life and relax again.

    It was an excellent accommodation.

    We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our son’s very first trip, just after turning one. We made a Reservation with high expectations because many celebrities have stayed here, and the hospitality from check-in onward was outstanding. The Room was just as wonderful as we had seen on YouTube, and both our son and my husband were truly delighted. Dinner and breakfast were beautiful and luxurious—we enjoyed both the presentation and the flavors. The final dessert came with a message plate, and we were so happy with the surprise. Since our child is still very young, it was a bit hectic this time, but we would love to stay again when he’s a little older!

    I had been feeling worn out from everyday life, so I was looking for an Accommodation where I could truly relax. At the last minute, a Room opened up at this Accommodation I’d long admired, and I booked immediately. From the Shuttle Service from Gora Station onward, the hospitality was wonderfully comforting. When I arrived, beautiful flowers were arranged throughout the Accommodation, and there was a lovely fragrance of incense. Check-in was smooth, and I was served chilled fruit and delicious sencha tea. I knew right away that choosing to stay here was the right decision. The lounge is a chic yet warm space. I enjoyed the complimentary drinks—starting with sparkling wine—and then brought some back to my Room to savor at my own pace. The open-air bath in my Room was perfect! The water felt amazing. Listening to the evening cicadas, I luxuriated in the continuously flowing hot spring water at leisure. My skin felt silky smooth afterward. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding—creative kaiseki that respects quality ingredients while featuring beautifully spiced dishes. Every course was exquisite. The wine pairing included selections I’d never tried before; they complemented the food perfectly, and the pairings were exceptional. It was both delicious and educational. Everything I experienced here—what I saw, heard, touched, and felt—was truly healing, and it left me refreshed with renewed energy. Thank you very much. Overall, this is an exceptional Accommodation. I could really feel how all of your staff value heartfelt hospitality every day and are always striving to make things even better—and that dedication is what makes this such a wonderful place.     From the moment we entered the lobby, we were surrounded by a wonderful incense fragrance. From the Room and the private open-air bath, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Hakone’s great nature right in front of you. Both breakfast and dinner were served in the Room, allowing us to spend private time. The lobby lounge free-flow drinks can be taken back to your Room. This Accommodation offers attentive hospitality worthy of its premium price range.

    As many people have written in their Review, the view from the Room was wonderful. The view from the in-room bath was also great, and looking out at the mountains really made us feel we were in Hakone. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, it smelled pleasant inside, and we were able to spend our time comfortably.ｌ Also, when we arrived at Gora Station and called, they came right away with the Shuttle Service, and even though we arrived a little early, they kindly showed us to our Room—overall, I felt the staff were well trained. There was also a wide variety of drinks in the lobby lounge, and it was nice that we could make them freely and take them back to our Room. However, I’m sorry to say that I felt the food was not very good. It’s nice that there are many dishes, but I think it would have been an even better stay if more attention had been paid to quality (taste) as well. Also, there seemed to be something like white mold on the bottom of the kettle in the Room; it wouldn’t come off even after washing it with water from the Room sink, so we did not boil water during our stay. Although tea supplies had been prepared in the Room, unfortunately we were unable to drink them during our stay. In addition, the scale placed in the Room did not work (perhaps it needs new batteries?), so I think it would be good to check that as well. Please consider making improvements so guests can enjoy an even better stay in Hakone.

    We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The Room was very clean, and the food was delicious. The view from the bath was amazing. The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay.

    Since everything was...

    Since everything was available within the Room, we were able to relax and take our time. However, since it was summer, there were a lot of insects; even opening the window slightly let mosquitoes and other bugs in, and it was disappointing that we couldn’t use the in-room open-air bath because there were so many insects. That said, the large public bath also had a sauna, and the amenities such as shampoo were well stocked, so it was very nice overall.

    An Adults-Only Getaway

    Stayed on the “Room Assigned by the Accommodation” Plan The Room was so spacious it felt almost too large for two. The building and surrounding area had a very modern-Japan vibe, but the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a soothing incense fragrance and instantly felt at ease. The amenities and even the items in the refrigerator were well stocked, making our stay feel wonderfully luxurious. Both the large public bath and the in-room bath were at just the right temperature, so we could easily enjoy them again and again. In the lobby, where alcohol and soft drinks are available free of charge 24 hours a day, we were able to relax late into the night—sipping wine and enjoying some peaceful time together as a couple. All of the staff provided warm, hospitality-filled service, which made this trip truly memorable. My wife also says she would love to come again. Thank you very much.

    Simply the best Accommodation.

    Both the Facility and service were flawless. Even in the highly competitive Hakone Gora area, satisfaction is very high. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be that there are no dining options other than in-room meals. That said, in-room dining is part of what makes an Onsen Ryokan special, so this is only a minor point if I really had to nitpick.

    Family-friendly accommodation where you can stay comfortably with young children

    This is our family’s favorite Accommodation. The staff are very kind and always check in on us, so we can stay comfortably even with two small children. This time we were able to stay in a larger Room, and our 2-year-old was really happy. The view that we couldn’t see last time because of the thick fog was beautifully clear this time, and we enjoyed taking lots of family photos. Dinner was different from last time as well, so even if you come back for another stay, you won’t get bored—and everything was delicious. My husband was also satisfied with the portion sizes. I love the sparkling wine in the lounge, so I always enjoy being able to drink plenty and have a great time. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again soon, so if you’re unsure where to stay on your Hakone trip, I recommend this Accommodation.

    I was impressed by how clean the Room was and how delicious the breakfast was. Since every Room has an open-air bath, we didn’t go to the large public bath until shortly before we left, but the famous ice cream was so good that my wife and I ended up having two each. Everything was wonderful, and my wife and I agreed that we’d like to come again. We truly enjoyed an extraordinary getaway. Thank you very much.

    Your First Time in Hakone

    It was our first trip to Hakone, and as the Reviews said, this Accommodation was perfect for traveling with a baby. The hospitality was excellent, and we were very satisfied.

    I had informed you in advance that my wife uses a walker, and we truly appreciated your thoughtful support, including assistance with the lift and providing a chair in the Room shower area. The Room was more spacious and comfortable than expected, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. My wife also says she would like to visit again.

    It was the best trip during my pregnancy.

    We stayed here on a couple’s trip during my 7th month of pregnancy, looking for an Accommodation with an Onsen in the Room. Of course the Onsen was wonderful, but the views exceeded our expectations, and the Room quality, meals, and hospitality were outstanding. We’ve visited Hakone several times before, and this felt like the best Accommodation. Even though we didn’t ask, they were considerate in every way for a pregnant guest—from the food and drinks to even providing a body pillow—and we were truly moved. All of the staff were very polite and lovely. We’d love to visit again!

    An airy Room with breathtaking views

    What made me choose to stay here was the spacious 115 m² Room and the beautiful views. Upon arrival, there was no waiting time. I checked in smoothly while enjoying tea and traditional Japanese sweets in the lobby, then headed to my Room. The Japanese-modern Room with floor-to-ceiling glass felt even more spacious than expected, and the view of the Hakone mountain range was stunning. The sense of openness while soaking in the bathtub on the balcony was simply wonderful. The free-flowing Onsen from a natural hot spring source warmed me through to the core after being chilled by the damp rainy season air. The water left my skin feeling soft and moisturized, and I enjoyed it many times during my stay. The lobby also had a drink bar with coffee, tea, alcohol, and more, which you can enjoy freely whenever you like—this service was great as well. Dinner while watching the scenery outside grow darker was a creative kaiseki meal with generous portions and overall gentle flavors. It felt healthy, but since I was drinking alcohol with it, I thought dishes with a bit more contrast in flavor would have made an even stronger impression. I understand it may take time because everything is delivered to your Room, but it was a little disappointing that items like soup were lukewarm. At night when I turned off the lights to sleep, some lights—such as the bedside lamp and the light in the toilet—wouldn’t turn on, which caused a bit of trouble. Since it was late at night I didn’t contact reception and just went to sleep, but I probably should have asked them to check. The full moon at night, the beautiful sunrise in the morning, and ever-changing skies—all made time pass slowly as I relaxed surrounded by nature. It refreshed me so much that it hardly felt like just one night. Thanks to the staff’s genuine smiles and warm hospitality, I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    I had a pleasant stay in a clean, spacious Room. The in-room bath was very comfortable, and I was able to truly relax—spending time in the hammock after bathing and enjoying a beer from the refrigerator. The Room was also well equipped with items that made it easy to stay comfortable, such as a yoga mat, stretch pole, and Bluetooth speaker. I had planned to enjoy the free drinks in the lobby and the large public bath as well, but the Room was so comfortable that I ended up not leaving it at all. The meals were healthy and satisfying, making great use of dashi broth and quality ingredients. The presentation and tableware were also lovely. The staff’s hospitality was excellent. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Our first trip with our child was amazing.

    This was our first trip with our baby, and it became such a wonderful memory that we’re still savoring it even after returning home. It was truly amazing that everything—meals and bathing—could be completed entirely in the Room, and the cleanliness made us feel at ease even with our little one crawling around. One thing: I found an insect I’m not good with in the large public bath, which dampened my mood, and I was a bit concerned because the staff member’s response when I mentioned it felt a little too casual. Still, given how open this Accommodation is, I suppose it can’t be helped… More than anything, the view from the bath in the Room is better and absolutely fantastic, so we’ll probably just stick with that. The food was full of my favorite Japanese dishes, and we could enjoy drinks without any hesitation—it was excellent. We’d love to come back again to relax with our child!

    Not worth the price.

    I stayed for about JPY 180,000 per night for two people, but I felt the price did not match the quality. The building is old, and the exterior looked like an apartment building from Japan’s bubble era. The Room had been renovated and was clean, but the hallways, lobby, elevator, etc. were clearly dated and did not feel luxurious. The meals were average—neither particularly good nor bad. If you asked whether I would go to a restaurant serving this food, I probably wouldn’t. The open-air bath in the Room was not relaxing at all because voices from nearby Rooms could be heard clearly, and it also felt fully visible from other Accommodations. There was also a hammock that you set up yourself in the Room, but I don’t know if it was defective or installed incorrectly—either way, it collapsed as soon as I got on it and I hit my tailbone hard. It felt very dangerous. If it were around JPY 30,000 per night, I could accept this level of quality, but it was not worth JPY 180,000. Very disappointing. I won’t be returning, but I hope this helps future guests.

    Thank you for an amazing day.

    This was our first stay as a couple. We love rooms with a large open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water, so we always look for Accommodation that meets those conditions. This place was a perfect match, and we were completely satisfied!! The temperature was just right, so there was no need to adjust it, and it was very comfortable. For dinner, we chose the wine pairing, and both the wine and the food were delicious—we had a wonderful time. All of the staff were attentive and kind, making it an excellent day overall. We would love to visit again.

    On-site capability you can rely on—unaffected by typhoons or earthquakes.

    We stayed during a rare moment when two typhoons hit the Kanto area at the same time, so we couldn’t really enjoy the view from the in-room Onsen. On top of that, an earthquake struck Yamanashi, and there was an unexpected incident where the guest elevator stopped. Even under those circumstances, we are truly grateful to all the staff for supporting guests with outstanding on-site responsiveness and doing everything possible to avoid any inconvenience. - Meals were served in our Room for both dinner and breakfast. Not only were they delicious, beautifully presented, and made with excellent ingredients—as expected—but they were also very filling; we ate until we were almost uncomfortably full. As someone who loves Japanese cuisine, it was perfect. Everything was genuinely delicious. - The Room lighting was quite bright, and even in rainy weather it still felt open and airy, making our stay very comfortable. - The Onsen was free-flowing from the source (kakenagashi) with wonderfully soft water. Because of the bad weather we couldn’t see the view from the in-room bath, but it was just as relaxing as ever. Next time, I’d like to enjoy it again along with the scenery. We were impressed by this high-end Facility and exceptional hospitality. We would love to stay again. -

    It was wonderful.

    We stayed for two nights and three days. We were very satisfied with both the bath and the meals, and the Room was comfortable, allowing us to relax and unwind. Two points we hope could be improved in the future. For our second breakfast we chose the Western-style option, but compared with the Japanese-style breakfast it felt noticeably less satisfying and could be improved. For a Multiple Night Stay, it would be great if you could arrange lunch boxes (even through an intermediary). That would make for a perfect stay-in experience.

    It was a blissful stay.

    We stayed as a family of three (with our 1-year-old), and it was such a wonderful stay that we can honestly say it’s our favorite Accommodation we’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we stepped inside, we were soothed by the refined atmosphere and pleasant fragrance. The interior design and overall sense of space are exceptional, and everywhere you go feels special. Our child had fallen asleep when we arrived, but the staff kindly handled check-in in our Room, which was incredibly helpful. We truly appreciated this flexible, thoughtful care. The welcome drink and sweets were also lovely and immediately lifted our spirits. The lobby’s complimentary drinks offered a wide variety and were very well stocked. We also loved that each area we used during our stay—such as the guest Room and the large public bath—had amenities prepared that were genuinely appreciated, showing attention to detail throughout. All staff members were kind yet pleasantly friendly, with service that felt perfectly balanced. There were moments when our child got a bit noisy, but they responded warmly, for which we are very grateful. Items for children to enjoy—such as an Anpanman DVD and a ball pit—were also extremely helpful. We were especially thankful to be able to have both breakfast and dinner in our Room. Meals with a 1-year-old are usually hard to enjoy calmly, but being able to relax without worrying too much about those around us made us feel—for the first time since giving birth—that we could truly savor a meal at leisure. For travel with a child, it’s rare to have time this luxurious and rewarding. Honestly, there is almost nothing negative that comes to mind. If I had to mention something, because my spouse and I took turns using the large public bath and lobby after putting our child to sleep, it felt just slightly short that the large public bath was open until 1:00 AM while complimentary drinks (including alcohol) were available until 11:00 PM. That said, I understand there may be operational reasons behind this, so it wasn’t really a complaint. It was truly an outstanding Accommodation—one we definitely want to visit again.
