    A place you’ll want to visit again

    My first stay The attentive hospitality, the music room with wonderful sound where I could read, relaxing by the campfire to keep warm, and the foie gras risotto were all excellent. I’d love to see the different scenery each season—I’ve already decided to return.

    Thank You for Staying with Us

    This was my fourth stay. I always book the Deluxe Twin, and everything has met my expectations, but this time the Room felt smaller than on my previous visit. Perhaps there are slightly larger Deluxe Twin Rooms. When watching TV from the sofa, I have to turn my neck backward—could this be improved? The food was excellent as always! I was very satisfied with the wine selection chosen to match my preferences. As a request, offering a wider range of higher-end New Zealand and U.S. wines would provide more options. Thank you as well for the thoughtful birthday gesture. I look forward to staying again.

    Completely satisfied with everything.

    We stayed as a couple just after the New Year to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed a gallery with art, music, and rare books; afternoon tea while taking in breathtaking views; and, under the cold winter sky, a bonfire with marshmallows and hot cocoa. Personally, I especially loved the music gallery, where you can freely choose from a large collection of records and listen in high-quality sound. In the evening, we savored French cuisine with Japanese touches in a calm setting, and in the morning we enjoyed breakfast while admiring the spectacular view. When we returned to our Room after dinner, there was a celebratory message made with towel art on the bed. When I asked my husband, he said he hadn’t requested anything in particular. We were truly touched by this surprise from the Hotel. Thank you very much. The Room was spacious with a wonderful view, and the bath—where we could relax while looking outside—was fantastic. Another small but delightful touch was that okaki rice crackers and mugichoco (chocolate-coated puffed barley) were always available. I was impressed by how thoughtfully both sweet and savory familiar snacks were provided without being too heavy. Since we could eat as much as we wanted whenever we liked, I kept reaching for them—and ended up snacking far too much late at night (laugh). Thanks to your attentive service, we were able to spend a relaxing and peaceful time. Thank you to all of the Hotel staff. We would love to visit other Hotels in the Hiramatsu Group as well.

    One night isn’t enough.

    My first stay here. I stayed one night after spending three nights at other hotels, but I felt that two nights would have been better to fully enjoy the Accommodation. The room was very comfortable, and the view from the window was nice—since it was winter and the leaves had fallen, there was a good balance of trees and sky. At the restaurant, I was served by two staff members, and both were extremely kind; I could really feel their outstanding hospitality. Overall I was very satisfied, but if I had to mention one complaint: they park your car after you hand over the key, and when my key was returned it had scratches on it. Next time, it may be better to hand it over with a key cover on.

    Relax and unwind.

    Turning off the main road, a charming Hotel comes into view. During our previous visit to Hakone, we were pleasantly surprised that the staff remembered and accommodated my husband's food preferences! The soup at the bonfire terrace was warm and delicious. The meals, especially the locally sourced vegetables, were incredibly tasty. We also enjoyed relaxing in the Room's Onsen multiple times. We look forward to visiting again during the warm green season!

    It was indeed Mr./Ms. Hiramatsu.

    It was my first visit in two years, and as expected, it remains a wonderful accommodation. Congratulations on earning two stars! The meals were delicious, and the red wine served with the meat had a lovely depth that left us very satisfied. This is just a personal preference, but it would be even better if there were dining options exclusively for guests (as my companion mentioned). It's simply because changing clothes can be inconvenient, though we understand and respect the dress code. Personally, I enjoy dressing up for such occasions, so it wasn’t an issue for me! Thank you very much.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    The room and meals were excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. What stood out the most was the towel service. While two towels were initially provided, they were replaced with fresh ones during dinner, which was greatly appreciated as someone who dislikes using damp towels. As for the paid refrigerator mentioned in reviews, it didn’t bother me much considering I enjoyed wine at the restaurant, so it wasn’t a significant downside. The onsen had an easily adjustable water temperature, making it pleasant to use; however, I personally prefer the hot spring quality in Hakone. This time we stayed on the second floor. While there was no foot traffic outside our room, people could see in from below, so those concerned about privacy might want to lower the blinds. For those who wish to enjoy views while bathing, higher floors with better scenery might be preferable. Overall satisfaction was high—this is a wonderful accommodation that I would love to visit again!

    We had a great time.

    The timing was perfect for autumn leaves, and the view from the Forest View Room was excellent. We could enjoy the autumn foliage from both the deck and the bath. The meals were very delicious, and the wine was great as well. All the staff were kind and left a positive impression. It was a highly satisfying stay. I would love to visit again.

    It was the best hospitality.

    My eldest son used this accommodation to celebrate his wife's birthday and was deeply impressed by the wonderful hospitality. So, I decided to use it for my own birthday celebration. As I have strong allergies, I always make the reservation myself to provide detailed information and did not mention that it was for a birthday celebration. During dinner, we noticed others being celebrated, and my husband regretted not making the reservation himself. However, during breakfast, we were surprised with a celebration! My husband and I were deeply moved by the thoughtful gesture of the staff. Thank you so much! It rained during our stay, so we didn’t venture outside of the accommodation building much. However, just enjoying the firepit in the lounge was more than enough entertainment for us. The food was delicious, our room was clean and comfortable, and all of your staff had such warm smiles—it made for an incredibly pleasant experience overall. At this age, celebrating birthdays can feel a bit embarrassing but this turned out to be one of my happiest celebrations in years! Thank you again. Next time, I hope to visit with my son and his wife together!

    The second stay at Hiramatsu was amazing! Definitely coming back next year!

    Last year, I stayed for one night to celebrate my mother's birthday, and she loved it so much that she said she wanted to stay for two nights next time. So this year, we stayed for two nights. From the warm welcome at check-in, the hospitality was exceptional as always, making us feel glad we came. For dinner, we enjoyed French cuisine. We requested that the meal be completed within two hours due to my mother's back pain, and they kindly accommodated our request—even providing a cushion for her comfort. Every dish was absolutely delicious; the lamb main course was perfectly cooked with no gaminess and tasted amazing. The dessert of myoga and apple was refreshing with a unique flavor that left us impressed. The baked treats in the bird-shaped box were delightful but since we were too full to eat them then, they kindly packed them up for us to enjoy the next day. On the second day, we opted for Italian à la carte dining. The pizza was fantastic; the roasted veal was so tender and flavorful that I felt like I could keep eating endlessly! The scallop and bottarga risotto featured large scallops that were incredibly satisfying—an unforgettable dish. As a beer lover, I couldn't help but think again this year how wonderful it would be if draft beer could be offered here since Karuizawa has its own local craft beers!

    Disappointing Dinner

    The highly anticipated dinner was quite disappointing in taste. Even with a menu featuring premium ingredients, the flavors felt unbalanced and lacked any sense of harmony. It left no impression at all. However, breakfast was enjoyable with fresh local vegetables and other delicious offerings. The Room, Onsen, events, and services were all satisfying, but the French cuisine did not meet expectations. Is this the same for other Hiramatsu locations?

    A Pleasant Stay

    It was a very comfortable stay. The Hotel had a wonderful blend of modern and rustic charm. Dinner was Italian, and it was so delicate that it reminded me of the restaurant ASO in Tokyo. Even though our reservation was late, the restaurant staff provided excellent service. The morning forest walk was also refreshing.

    Thank you for your kind and attentive service. This time, we stayed to celebrate my wife's birthday, marking our second stay at this accommodation. You kindly suggested a cake for the occasion, but as we thought it might be too filling, we only requested a special dinner plate in advance. The small surprise during dinner was wonderful, but when we returned to our room after the meal, there was also a lovely "Happy Birthday" decoration set up in the room. Thank you so much! It became a memorable stay and birthday celebration. We truly appreciate it and look forward to visiting again in the future!

    Experience the extraordinary during the autumn foliage season.

    First of all, congratulations on earning two Michelin stars! I love autumn in Karuizawa and visit every year during the fall foliage season. This was my fourth stay at your accommodation. This time, since rain was forecasted for the next day, I wanted to enjoy the scenery and headed to the 5th-floor tea lounge after check-in. I love the view of the mountains, autumn leaves, and Miyota town from there—it allowed me to spend a truly elegant time. A female staff member kindly brought me a blanket; her attention to detail was impressive and much appreciated! That’s why it feels so comfortable here. After enjoying the bonfire, we headed for French dining! Since I enjoy alcohol, I opted for the pairing course—and every dish paired perfectly with its drink, making it an absolutely blissful experience. The use of local and nearby ingredients showcased Nagano's charm beautifully. The whipped apple served at breakfast is exquisite—highly recommended! The staff are friendly and kind without being overly formal; each visit leaves me deeply impressed and eager to return again! It’s such a wonderful accommodation. I look forward to staying with you again next year—thank you in advance!

    Relax and Enjoy

    Welcomed with a warm smile by the staff at the entrance, we felt relaxed in the lobby before being guided to our Room. The Room had a spacious layout, and the paintings on the walls were captivating. Enjoying cocoa at the TAKIBI Lounge and spending time by the fireplace in the lobby before dinner allowed for delightful conversations with my wife, making us feel truly happy. The Italian dinner offered unique flavors that were simply amazing. Throughout our stay, everything was satisfying, and both my wife and I are deeply grateful.

    Simply outstanding.

    Just before the autumn foliage season, I stayed for one night. The staff's attentive care, hospitality, and warm smiles made my stay very pleasant. The Room was clean, and the Onsen provided a relaxing experience. For dinner, I enjoyed Italian cuisine with excellent service from the sommelier. The dishes featured local vegetables and miso, and listening to the explanations was delightful. Breakfast was served on the terrace with freshly baked bread and warm minestrone soup while enjoying a distant view of the Yatsugatake mountain range. It has become a place I want to visit again soon. Thank you very much!

    I was very satisfied.

    Everything was absolutely satisfying. The room was spacious, clean, and very relaxing. The bath featured Onsen water, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The herbal tea was also delightful. For dinner, we had Italian cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, and it was incredibly delicious. The sommelier's stories were entertaining as well. Breakfast was equally excellent in every way. They even prepared a birthday gift for me, which deeply touched my heart. I would love to visit again!

    The third autumn at The Hiramatsu Myoko.

    The high quality of meals at The Hiramatsu, both morning and evening, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the beautiful views are aspects that many guests appreciate. Additionally, the spacious grounds for strolling and enjoying coffee or analog records in the annex building make for a luxurious experience within the Hotel. Unfortunately, it was raining during our visit this time. We arrived at the Hotel about two hours earlier than check-in time and decided to relax with some music. After completing check-in procedures, we headed to the annex building when a young female staff member who handled our check-in kindly offered to escort us with an umbrella. Upon asking, we learned she was a new employee with just six months on the job. When we declined her offer out of consideration for her effort, she later brought lap blankets for both my wife and me to use in the rain while at the annex building! Her thoughtful gesture was truly heartwarming—she is sure to become an excellent Hotel staff member in time. Dinner was French cuisine. At dinner service in their restaurant, we were greeted by a female staff member who had assisted us last year as well. She remembered us warmly saying, "Welcome back! We've prepared your same table from last year." Her recognition made us feel special again this year; casual conversations during dinner further enhanced our delightful evening experience—it reminded me once more that people are indeed a Hotel's greatest asset!

    Comfortable space

    After visiting for the first time in two years, I stayed in a corner room this time, which was spacious and more relaxing than expected. (The view from the view bath was also stunning.) The selection of snacks and drinks in the refrigerator provided in the room was excellent, making me feel like I always get great value just by staying here. The scent of Ichida Shoten's pillow mist left during turndown service was pleasant, and I enjoyed it at home for a while after my stay. This summer was extremely hot, and even Karuizawa felt warm, but this amazing hotel remained as exceptional as ever.

    Highly satisfying, a representative Resort Hotel in Karuizawa.

    I had the pleasure of staying here for the first time after my favorite restaurant relocated from Karuizawa to Miyota. Since the restaurant I usually visit serves French cuisine, I decided to try Italian this time, and it was mostly satisfying (except maybe for the pasta?). The hospitality of the staff, the facility, and of course, the meals were exceptional. Having visited various accommodations in Karuizawa before, this one stands out as truly remarkable. The vast grounds equivalent to five Tokyo Domes and the breathtaking view from Asama Mountain's foothills were absolutely delightful. Next time, I plan to enjoy French cuisine at "HIRAMATSU." Thank you very much!

    I think it's the perfect accommodation for guests with dogs.

    The villa located below the main building is pet-friendly, allowing you to check in and out directly at the villa. Parking is conveniently available right in front of the entrance. The covered terrace and spacious lawn garden were delightful, and our dog seemed very happy. The refrigerator was stocked with delicious soft drinks and alcohol, while plenty of bottled water was provided in the room. The only concern during our stay was that our dog slipped on the room's floor. It would be great if anti-slip treatment or rugs covering the entire living area could be added. The bathroom in the room was spacious and comfortable, making us want to use it multiple times. However, a rack for hanging slightly used bath towels would have been helpful. In the evening, we enjoyed drink service on an upper floor of the main building with a great view as well as at an outdoor fire lounge where beverages were also served—both experiences were wonderful. For dinner, we chose French cuisine after considering Italian options. The flavors were distinct and perfectly suited to our taste; we thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast came as a morning basket delivered to our room, which was excellent both in quality and quantity. Overall, it was a very satisfying trip. We look forward to visiting again someday—thank you for your hospitality!

    We have stayed in accommodations in Atami, Hakone, and Okinawa before, but this time we visited Hiramatsu in Karuizawa Miyota. Located on a hill at the foot of Mount Asama, the view is outstanding. The scenery and air from the room terrace are exceptional, offering one of the best views even in Karuizawa. This alone makes it a valuable hotel. - The bonfire lounge provided an extraordinary evening experience that was wonderful. - Although the onsen is not sourced directly from a hot spring, it was nice to be able to enjoy it anytime in the room. However, while adjusting water temperature via panel was possible, I couldn't figure out how to increase water flow or where exactly to release more water from. - Grinding coffee beans yourself with a mill and enjoying freshly brewed coffee was fun; however, using the coffee filter was quite difficult as all ground powder fell into the glass pot—disappointing results! Perhaps providing an instruction manual would help guests use it correctly? - Breakfast was delicious but adding one more dish might enhance satisfaction further. The bread from Asanoya Bakery and omelet frittata were delightful! - Lunch offered Italian à la carte options which we enjoyed; extending our checkout time until 12:00 for lunch convenience was much appreciated! - When returning briefly after spending time at Bonfire Lounge before heading out for dinner outside—without requesting—the car had already been prepared at hotel entrance—a thoughtful service that impressed us deeply! - Floor heating inside bathroom felt overly warm like sauna conditions; explaining its switch operation during check-in could improve guest comfort. Hiramatsu has always been an exceptional restaurant brand we've frequently visited over years—from their grand maison flagship store in Hiroo Tokyo down through casual lines alike—and this accommodation lived up fully under such prestigious name delivering impeccable hospitality throughout stay!     Experience true relaxation.

    During the summer vacation, we visited the villa while staying at the main accommodation and were intrigued. This time, we stayed with our daughter, her spouse, and our 2-year-old grandchild. The Villa Suite not only has two bedrooms but also features two closets, toilets, shower rooms, and sinks for each bedroom—an excellent setup. The private garden accessible directly from the veranda was a delight for our grandchild who enjoyed picking acorns and playing with soap bubbles to their heart's content. For dinner, we chose the private dining course. Unlike typical room service meals, this style serves each course one by one in sequence. It was an ultimate luxury to enjoy restaurant-quality course meals served dish by dish while relaxing in loungewear in our room. The bonfire lounge brought joy to both our grandchild and daughter’s family—it became a cherished memory for all of us. Walking along the soft wood chip-covered paths on the spacious grounds was also a fun experience with its unique texture underfoot. The staff’s thoughtful yet unobtrusive hospitality was exceptional as well; it allowed us to fully relax and enjoy a luxurious time at ease. Although it had been less than three months since our last visit, this stay provided immense satisfaction for both us as grandparents and our daughter’s family alike!

    The pinnacle of hospitality! Each staff member's smile and thoughtfulness were truly exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious. When I returned to the Room, I found adorable birthday decorations on the bed, which made me feel so happy.

    The staff's friendly service is excellent.

    I used the hometown tax donation program for my stay. The Hotel is located west of Karuizawa, a famous summer resort, but recently, Miyota has seen an increase in stylish shops, allowing us to enjoy various stores before checking into the Hotel. The luxurious building is set within a vast forest area with limited Room numbers, providing a truly relaxing experience. I stayed in the "Deluxe Twin Forest View" Room on the first floor, where I could step out onto the lawn from the terrace—a truly indulgent space. My spouse and I participated in the complimentary Sunset Forest Yoga offered as part of the Hotel's activities. Practicing yoga while gazing at the forest was refreshing and enjoyable; even as beginners, we felt comfortable thanks to our kind instructor. For dinner, guests can choose between French and Italian cuisine. We opted for French and were impressed by their flexibility with sudden schedule changes and delighted by beautifully crafted dishes made with local ingredients. The staff's extensive knowledge added to our experience as we enjoyed friendly conversations that led us to discover a nearby winery where we made great purchases the next day. They also helped make our pre-arranged anniversary surprise extra special! During our stay, we roasted marshmallows at TAKIBI Lounge and listened to records at Library Café—all while being surrounded by incredibly friendly and kind staff who contributed greatly to creating such a warm atmosphere throughout the Hotel!

    It was a very pleasant summer retreat.

    After a long time, I visited Karuizawa again. I was a bit worried about whether it would still be suitable as a summer retreat since it seems to have gotten hotter than before. Although the daytime is indeed warm, the mornings and evenings are cool enough to sit on the terrace and read without breaking a sweat. The room is spacious, and the Onsen is very relaxing—there's nothing to complain about in terms of facilities; it's perfect. The service maintains an appropriate distance while providing everything necessary—also perfect. As for meals, my expectations were quite high, but as expected from HIRAMATSU, they were at a level that sets them apart from those offered at regular Ryokans or Hotels. I would love to visit again!

    This Hotel is highly recommended for its services, location, events (bonfire), and of course, the cuisine (wine). The attention to detail in the Room decor and collaboration with local cafes for coffee beans enhances your stay. While you can enjoy time on your Room terrace, we recommend spending time at the rooftop restaurant terrace where you can savor a delightful café experience or breakfast with stunning views. Dinner features exquisite French cuisine by "Hiramatsu," creatively utilizing local ingredients such as vegetables and duck. The pairing includes not only European wines but also wines from Shinshu and Japanese sake. Breakfast is equally delightful with local ingredients, bread, Hotel-made croissants, and apple whip that are truly delicious. The smiles and service of the staff were exceptional as well. In Miyota, offering a unique charm different from Karuizawa, you can enjoy a calm and fulfilling time. This Hotel comes highly recommended!
