    Rainy Trip to Atami...

    It had been 20 years since my last visit to Atami, even though I live in the same prefecture. It rained on both days, but I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. The Onsen in the guest room and the large public bath were excellent. The meals were plentiful with a variety of dishes, leaving me fully satisfied. Thank you for your hospitality during this stay.

    Solo Travel

    Stayed in a Junior Suite for a solo trip. The Onsen in the room is not free-flowing, so you need to adjust the temperature yourself by adding water, but it’s easy with the provided thermometer. The sauna was also great, and I enjoyed the löyly experience. Sauna enthusiasts will love it! One concern was that while you can enjoy the view from the bathroom, it seemed like nearby buildings might be able to see inside due to proximity. It would have been nice if there were roll-up curtains on the windows. Meals were served in-room for both dinner and breakfast. Portions are very generous, so if you choose this Plan, there’s no need to bring extra snacks. The room's fridge has complimentary drinks, and delicious snacks are available for purchase near the front desk. Highly satisfied!

    Best value for money!

    I booked a Junior Suite with a private open-air bath and sauna for an anniversary trip. I chose the breakfast-only plan, but the room was spacious and clean, and the sauna had aromatic löyly prepared, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing sauna experience. When I contacted them in advance to request plates and cutlery as I was bringing my own cake, they kindly accommodated my request. On the day of our stay, due to delays caused by a tsunami, we missed the shuttle service time; however, they provided special arrangements for us, which made us feel their warmth and hospitality. If I have another chance to visit Atami, I would love to stay here again.

    The room's bath is just a bathtub.

    The accommodation in Atami with a room featuring a private bath was the worst I've ever experienced. The bathtub was simply placed at the edge of a spacious balcony, with no washing area. While there was a screen in front, it seemed possible to be seen from the neighboring building if someone tried. Even though rooms with private baths are popular, just placing one there is not enough. Additionally, while browsing souvenirs inside the facility, a male staff member stood silently about 2 meters away watching me closely as if on theft alert, which made me uncomfortable. Considering I had nothing to hide and carried nothing in my hands, this behavior felt disrespectful. There was absolutely no sense of hospitality here; I will never stay again.

    Consideration at the time of checkout...

    Located on a hill with a beautiful view, we were able to enjoy stunning scenery thanks to the clear weather. However, it was disappointing that there was no assistance or guidance for carrying luggage to the car during check-out. Having stayed at various high-quality Ryokans, this lack of consideration during check-out was an unfortunate first-time experience.

    At this price, please improve the quality of the meals.

    Meals were equivalent to 10,000 yen per night with two meals. The bath only had heated water and no fresh water from the spout. The staff were kind and very pleasant. The bed in the Room was a Simmons, making it comfortable to sleep on. However, the sofa was uncomfortable and tiring to sit on. I don't think I will visit again.

    First Family Trip with Your Baby

    We visited here for our first family trip with our 2-month-old baby. We stayed in a Junior Suite Room with a private sauna. The availability of baby cribs and baby baths was very helpful for traveling with a baby. During dinner, they also prepared a bassinet and blanket, which made us feel it was very accommodating for families with babies. However, regarding the bathroom in the room, I felt that the cleaning was not thorough. There were visible water stains left behind, which was disappointing. The shower head holder was also unstable and wobbly, making it difficult to use. As for dinner service, perhaps we stayed too long (about 2 hours), but as soon as we left the private dining room, one male staff member spoke loudly enough for us to hear while giving instructions to other staff about clearing up or saying "Good job" in what seemed like an impatient manner. This lack of consideration felt unprofessional to me. While many of the staff members were kind and friendly, I felt that their professionalism as hotel staff could be improved; they gave off more of an at-home vibe rather than a professional one. On the other hand, we were very satisfied with the private sauna and cold bath in our room. We would like to visit again if given another opportunity!

    I stayed here for my...

    I stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday! They sent me an email about the surprise before our stay, and we were able to have a wonderful time! The meals were delicious, and I personally liked the slightly firm texture of the rice. When I accidentally got a fish bone stuck in my throat during breakfast and contacted the front desk, their response felt average. While it was my own fault, I would have appreciated a bit more consideration. Overall, it was a great accommodation!!

    First Time in Atami

    Our first trip to Atami as a couple. The food was incredibly delicious and prepared with great care. The plates were also lovely. Breakfast was very hearty! The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Truly a wonderful room. They provided various amenities like a refrigerator and coffee in many places. We chose a room with an open-air bath but also used the public bath. Although it’s compact, we were able to enjoy it privately without overlapping with other guests, which made us very satisfied. The amenities were high-quality, and there was even a ReFa hair dryer in the room—everything was perfect! We definitely want to stay here again! Hoping the quality remains just as excellent next time!!

    Comfortable to stay

    The accommodation was comfortable. However, since the facility is located on a mountain, it was a bit disappointing that I couldn't go out after checking in. Also, it would have been better if the room's toilet was a bit more spacious. The meals were excellent!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed here to celebrate a special anniversary. The room was very clean, spacious, and extremely satisfying. Although the public bath is not large, the room's private bath with a sauna and Onsen allowed us to relax comfortably in our own space. The meals were served in a private dining area and were absolutely delicious. As I have a fish allergy, they took great care in accommodating my needs after several prior communications. While there seemed to be many foreign staff members, those handling the meals spoke fluent Japanese and provided excellent service overall, leaving us very satisfied. Some points of concern: 1) The explanation at check-in was too fast to fully understand. It would be better if key points were standardized into a manual for clearer communication (e.g., how to use aroma oil in the sauna or where its container is located, how to drain water from the bath). We had to confirm these details by phone later (after 10 PM calls are directed to mobile phones). 2) The indoor slippers were slightly luxurious but tended to tangle with socks and became difficult to remove. 3) It would be nice if facial soap was available in the public bath area. 4) The restroom signs near the dining area are too stylish; it’s hard to distinguish between male and female restrooms clearly. 5) There was a slight odor inside the elevator that caught our attention. Despite these minor issues, we appreciated thoughtful services like complimentary drinks and beverages stocked in the refrigerator. The location is excellent as well! We thoroughly enjoyed the baths, sauna, and delicious meals—everything exceeded expectations! We look forward to staying here again soon!

    We stayed in the SAI suite room as a family of four, celebrating my retirement with my wife and two adult sons. Starting with check-in directly in the room, we were impressed by the spaciousness, convenient layout, and amenities. The private open-air bath and sauna in the room were used multiple times by everyone, leaving us feeling refreshed. The complimentary Japanese sweets and drinks provided in the room were perfectly balanced and delightful. For dinner, we enjoyed a refined Japanese-Western fusion kaiseki meal paired with delicious drinks in a private dining space exclusive to SAI guests at the restaurant. The pricing for alcoholic beverages was reasonable without any excessive markups often seen at similar accommodations. The beds were incredibly comfortable for a restful sleep, and the high-quality massage chair added to our relaxation. Each of us spent time at our own pace, creating wonderful memories together. After much deliberation over accommodation choices, we are truly glad to have chosen Ishinoya for this special occasion. Thank you very much!

    Stay for a Girls' Trip

    Located on a hill, you can enjoy breathtaking views and relaxing Onsen! We chose a one-night stay with two meals Plan, and the food was delicious with a wide variety of options. The grilled horse mackerel for breakfast was especially outstanding. The dining area offered semi-private or private rooms, allowing us to enjoy our meals at a leisurely pace. The Room was spacious, and we could see the ocean from both the Room and the bath. Amenities were well-prepared, including not only yukata but also pajamas and basket bags for use when going to the public bath—very convenient! However, there was only one mirror in the bathroom, which was slightly inconvenient for three women sharing the space. A full-length mirror or tabletop mirror would have been helpful. Starting with a welcome drink, complimentary tea and coffee were available in the lobby and lounge areas. The public bath had water dispensers as well as milk and ice cream available, while various drinks were stocked in our Room's refrigerator—an excellent drink service that we truly appreciated! Shuttle Service from Atami Station made access easy, and thanks to the staff's attentive hospitality, we had an incredibly pleasant stay. It turned out to be a very satisfying trip overall. We would love to visit again if given another opportunity!

    Suite Room Accommodation

    It was the best accommodation. The staff provided excellent service, and the meals were delicious. The celery white sauce was especially exquisite. The facilities included a sauna and massage chairs, which were very relaxing. It has become my favorite accommodation that I want to visit every year! Thank you so much. Even after returning home, I am still basking in the memories.

    Had a relaxing stay!

    This time, I stayed in a room with a sauna. The large public bath also had an onsen and sauna, and I enjoyed ice cream and coffee milk after bathing, making it a very fulfilling stay. Additionally, the beer and soft drinks in the room's refrigerator were a nice touch. There were two points of concern: one was that the bathroom floor in the room became slippery when wet. The other was that the restaurant's food and service could be improved slightly to make it even better. Overall, I was highly satisfied, had a relaxing time, and am very grateful. Thank you very much!

    Wedding Anniversary

    We spontaneously decided on a trip and happened to find Ishinoya. We chose a suite with an open-air bath. While the Room seemed promising, we were quite worried about the meals. However, the Room exceeded our expectations—it was spacious, clean, and stylish. The service was also the best we've ever experienced. The meals we were concerned about turned out to be delicious and satisfying. Our whole family is already saying they want to visit again!

    Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay with the best views.

    We were able to select a convenient time for the Shuttle Service from about five options to pick us up at Atami Station, making our train trip seamless and hassle-free. The Hotel is located further uphill from the MOA Museum of Art, with no shops nearby. This ensured a very quiet environment with stunning views of the sea below, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing stay. Upon check-in, we were served a welcome drink at an outdoor café in front of the reception. Despite the chilly weather, the warm sofa seats allowed us to relax while admiring the ocean view. Afterward, we headed to the rooftop balcony where counter seats facing the sea offered an incredible experience. Although it was windy, wooden fences around provided shelter from the wind so we could sit back and enjoy. The Room was spacious enough for two people and featured an open-air bath with Onsen water that truly excited us. However, one disappointing aspect was related to plumbing. When flushing the toilet, small black particles flowed out along with water; initially mistaking them for insects gave me quite a scare. Additionally, drainage in the sink bowl was not smooth. Aside from these issues, everything else exceeded expectations: breathtaking scenery; clean and comfortable accommodations; an open-air Onsen bath in our Room; beautifully presented and delicious meals for breakfast and dinner; three lounges offering self-serve drinks; as well as complimentary beverages stocked in our Room's refrigerator. We had such a peaceful and enjoyable time during our stay—thank you very much! We look forward to visiting again soon!

    Retreat to a Hidden Gem in Atami

    After a year, I stayed in a room with a sauna. This time, I wanted to fully enjoy the sauna, so I chose No Meals Included and decided to bring my own food and stay in. It was very helpful to be informed that there is a microwave on the 25th floor. The fridge in the room with the sauna is well-stocked with free drinks like water, tea, beer, Pocari Sweat, and Oronamin C, so you won't have any trouble finding something to drink. I was able to hydrate properly and enjoy going back and forth between the Onsen and sauna multiple times. In the morning, I could hear birds chirping from the bathroom; it was another special moment. The temperature of the sauna rose steadily over about 45 minutes up to 90 degrees Celsius (194°F), allowing me to spend relaxing time with birch aroma löyly. With two sets of bath towels and even bathrobes available, there were no issues regarding towels. The room remains as spacious and stylish as ever; thanks to Simmons mattresses, I could fall into a deep sleep. I was delighted that ReFa shower heads & hairdryers were provided too! Combined with Atami Onsen's benefits (Atami Onsen), my hair & skin became smooth! This stay has inspired me towards purchasing ReFa products myself! Additionally compared from last visit: it seemed like hot spring water came out faster than before—previously taking around two minutes until warm but now only thirty seconds for hot water which made me happy! Even toilet facilities are comfortable using Arauno toilets within rooms. This time around we enjoyed table tennis & fitness activities which weren't possible during our previous trip making this Atami travel fulfilling overall! Being an upscale hotel where infrastructure is well-established already perhaps upgrading shampoo quality one more notch would be nice? Given current price range definitely plan on utilizing rooms equipped saunas again! Complimentary Shuttle Service also greatly appreciated please continue offering such services!

    A tranquil property for adults

    I used it for the first time for a 2-night stay. It is located on a mountain about 10 minutes by car from the station, but thanks to its location, I was amazed by the wonderful view and quiet space. The Room was very spacious, with a bath and sauna included, allowing me to relax in the Room. Although it was only breakfast, the menu was rich with rice accompaniments and fish, and it was very delicious. Since I couldn't fully enjoy the entrance or observation lounge due to the cold season, I would like to repeat my visit for a workation in a slightly warmer season next time.

    Stayed in a room with a sauna for the purpose of enjoying the sauna. The room's sauna can seat two people, but it was a bit cramped, so it was more comfortable to use it one at a time by staggering the time. The dining area was partitioned for each room, and it was nice that the timing of the serving was adjusted to the pace of the meal. However, one point is that while they explain the meal, they are just reciting the menu, so it would have been better if there were more details about the origin or special features.

    The meals are delicious.

    I stayed during the New Year, and the meals were delicious. At an Onsen Ryokan, it's common to find meals that look luxurious but are just average, leading to a lot of leftovers. However, here, every dish had a delicate and refined taste in just the right amount, so I finished everything.

    We made a reservation for 6 family members on my husband's side at the beginning of the year.

    I made a reservation for two rooms during the New Year holidays. One room for my parents and sister, and one room for my wife, daughter, and me. Although the types of rooms were different, both were spacious and satisfying. It was a pity that we only went to the smaller onsen for one gender, as it seems the other side had an open-air bath. Since the genders switch, I recommend enjoying both. When we requested to dine together, we were provided with a private room for both breakfast and dinner, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The portions were quite large. The meal for our 6-year-old child was also luxurious. One concern was that the showerhead in the room came off and couldn't be reattached. I would like to request a replacement, including the hose. Also, the New Year's menu was completely different, and I think the menu was probably misplaced. However, I didn't particularly mind. My whole family was delighted, and the location and service from the hotel staff were excellent, making it a hotel we would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    The sunrise from the lobby was beautiful.

    I stayed for two nights over the New Year period. The Room was a junior suite, so it was spacious. The amenities, including the feel of the towels, were good. It was disappointing that there was no green tea among the various drinks provided in the Room. Although it is available in the lobby, it would be nice to have it stocked in the Room. The hallway was unusually cold, and I walked with my neck hunched every time... I wonder if the heating could be a bit more effective... The food was delicious, but for some reason, the soup was too salty, and both of us left it unfinished. I think it would be better if it were a bit lighter and milder. The quality of the bath water was good. However, the dressing room was unexpectedly small. The staff provided a very pleasant service.

    For my wife's birthday,

    I used the facility because I wanted to relax with my wife in the sauna in the Room. They also lent us board games, and having free Pocari Sweat and Oronamin C was perfect after the sauna. However, it was disappointing that the water in the Room bath filled up slowly and the shower water pressure was weak.

    Onsen Stays Overflowing with Hospitality

    Tea and tea sweets were provided everywhere, such as in the rooms and lounges on each floor, which was very convenient. The open-air bath in the room also had a sauna, and we could enjoy the löyly, which was fantastic. When our 3-year-old son fell asleep during the meal, they brought a baby bed for us, which was helpful. There was also a treasure hunt event, and our son had a great time. From the open-air bath in the room, we had a panoramic view of Sagami Bay, which was a relaxing time. It is a property I would like to visit again.

    It was disappointing.

    I stayed in a junior suite, but before we entered, there was hair that didn't seem to be human hair in the bathtub, which significantly lowered our mood. It was a property booked for a birthday, but I felt the cleaning was sloppy for the price. When I informed the staff, they cleaned it immediately, but I couldn't help but think it's not a business hotel. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, but a foreign staff member tried hard to explain the Japanese food, and I couldn't understand about 90% of what the dishes were due to the broken language. I support foreigners working, but if they are going to explain the dishes, I would have preferred someone who could speak a bit more fluently. It became a disappointing memory.
