    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. I had visited Kataoka Onsen once before for a day trip, and while I considered staying at the separate villa, the unique atmosphere of the "Enclosure" room felt surreal and comfortable. The warmth of the earthy tones was calming, making me wish for a multiple night stay next time. The onsen here is 100% natural spring water, different from both the villa's spring and Aqua Ignis Kataoka Onsen's spring, so comparing them is highly recommended. Upon arrival, I enjoyed some sweets and visited the bakery to purchase bread—just as delicious as last time! For dinner, I went to Roan Yumiji, which has earned one Michelin star. With limited counter seating available for an intimate experience, I savored seasonal dishes like chestnuts, matsutake mushrooms, Pacific saury fish (sanma), and incredibly tender meat that melted in my mouth—it was all exceptional! Being from Kansai myself made me appreciate these flavors even more. Absolute satisfaction! Note that dinner at Roan Yumiji is only available to guests staying at the villa accommodation; however, you might want to inquire if meal reservations alone are possible—it’s worth it! Breakfast was served at Ishigaki Soba within the villa area—delicious as well—and exclusive to villa guests. Next time I'd love to visit just for their soba noodles too! Other dining options include Italian cuisine, aged dishes (熟成料理), Japanese set meals (和定食), and even eel dishes—all prepared by familiar faces who clearly excel in their craft. With only 12 uniquely themed rooms in total across this accommodation facility—each offering something different—I’d love to try another room during my next visit. Surrounded by nature with soothing river sounds and fresh air alongside 100% natural hot springs paired with exquisite cuisine... this place has become a must-return destination for me!

    Sunny on the way, heavy rain on the return...

    It was a serene and tranquil journey. As always, I enjoyed washing away the summer heat in the open-air bath, followed by a refreshing gulp of beer—pure bliss! The unique satisfaction that only this "Sosui-kyo" can offer. The simple yet meticulously prepared "Soba Breakfast" was impressively delicious. However, it was disappointing at the "Fourth Generation Unagi Restaurant." The seat we were guided to had no view and felt enclosed, depriving us of the beautiful scenery of trees. Please consider more thoughtful arrangements for travelers! On our way back, unfortunately, it poured heavily. Despite that, it was an overall satisfying trip. I look forward to visiting again!

    Third stay

    This is my third stay. This time, I reserved a room by the river. The open-air onsen had no walls, offering a sense of openness and a fresh experience unlike any other bath before. The clean open-air onsen warmed our bodies, and my daughter and I enjoyed soaking in it multiple times. For dinner, we had our favorite eel again. The eel here never gets old—especially the delicious grilled white eel. When we arrived by car, they guided us without even needing to mention our name—they remembered our car! The staff are relatively young and very pleasant. While taking family photos, someone kindly offered to take the picture for us. We appreciated having plenty of coffee and water (important for hydration after soaking in the onsen multiple times). It was great that we could drink as much as we wanted. The tea in the room was delicious with well-prepared tea leaves that allowed us to enjoy several cups of rich tea. As for skincare products like lotion, it would be perfect if they were provided in bottles or jars—though I understand there may be reasons behind this choice. Looking forward to next time!

    Stayed for 2 nights from July 21. On the 21st, I booked the official Plan of Sosuikyo. It was a luxurious Plan celebrating their 5th anniversary, and I was extremely satisfied! The spa treatment was excellent, and the meals were as delicious as always. Of course, I was also satisfied with the IKYU Plan on the 22nd! Since my first visit in November 2023, I managed to complete all stays in less than two years! The fact that I've used this Facility 12 times so quickly shows how satisfying it is. The quality of the hot spring water is impeccable, and all staff members are wonderful. As they celebrate their 5th anniversary this year, I hope Sosuikyo continues to improve and becomes even more beloved by everyone. To all staff members—keep up the great work! I'm cheering for you!

    The quality of the hot spring water was excellent!

    The Onsen flow into the bathtub was abundant, and although the water quality is a simple Onsen, it was very good. The room was also very stylish and clean. However, the amenities were disappointing, and the TV monitor was too small for the size of the room, which gave a cheap impression considering the price of the room. It felt like such a waste. If they used a projector system for that room size, it would feel much more luxurious. The food was even more disappointing; I’m sorry to say this, but both its quality and atmosphere felt like those of a set meal restaurant in a super public bath facility. This is just my personal opinion, but at that price point, I would expect something more satisfying... Disappointing.

    I was impressed by the heartfelt hospitality.

    The room design was attractive, which led me to choose this hotel. After staying, I was deeply impressed by the staff's hospitality. They prepared rice balls as a late-night snack after dinner and served coffee after breakfast, offering hospitality beyond my expectations and making my stay extremely comfortable.

    It is quite strict.

    Overall, it felt like the price did not match the experience. Room → There were stains and dirt in various places. According to the staff, it has been five years since opening, so some wear is understandable, but seeing stains on the sofa was unpleasant. However, the room itself had a unique and innovative design that I appreciated. Service → The front desk and shuttle service staff were very kind and attentive. Thank you for that. However, after checking out, when I stopped by the shop next to the large public bath to buy souvenirs, two older women were engrossed in conversation and ignored me. When they finally finished talking, one of them adjusted product displays with her back turned while saying "Welcome" in an unenthusiastic tone—it would have been better if she hadn't said anything at all. In the end, I decided not to make a purchase. Onsen/Bath/Facility → Since transportation from my room to the large public bath required a shuttle service by car, it was slightly inconvenient as I couldn't go freely without worrying about time constraints. Although there was an open-air bath attached to my room as well, it felt a bit cramped. Meals → The Italian dinner was satisfying; however, breakfast lacked volume entirely—I ended up supplementing with rice and later bought bread nearby for additional food despite not being a big eater myself.

    It was great!

    I stayed at Mokko. It was quite spacious for two people, but we enjoyed spending time in the garden, relaxing in the Japanese-style Room, and lounging on the sofa. The open-air bath was also very pleasant. Dinner was Italian cuisine—delicious and very filling. If I stay again, I’d love to try a different Room.

    It was a completely satisfying accommodation.

    I visited the Accommodation at Aqua Ignis without much prior knowledge. The Facility is spread across two main areas, and we stayed at "Suiyo," a collection of uniquely designed standalone accommodations. The space was very spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The open-air Onsen allowed us to adjust the water temperature easily by adding water, making it enjoyable both on our arrival day and early the next morning. The highlight of our stay was the aged meat course dinner at HINOMORI. Not only was the meat exceptional, but we also enjoyed fresh seasonal fish and homegrown vegetables prepared in various ways. The dinner alone makes this place worth revisiting. The hospitality was outstanding, with attention to detail throughout our stay. As Diamond members, we received a stylish souvenir that I plan to cherish and use carefully. While there didn’t seem to be many attractions outside Aqua Ignis itself, it offered plenty of enjoyment with shops by renowned patissiers and Onsen facilities even for non-staying visitors—it was bustling with activity!

    Sosuikyo: Returning After 2 Years

    The room was spacious and luxurious, perfect for a couple's stay. The Onsen with natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source was truly rejuvenating for both body and mind. Dinner at HINOMORI was exceptional, featuring dishes made with ingredients from Mie. The wine complemented the meal perfectly. We also highly recommend enjoying the BAR time after dinner!

    I had a great time.

    This was my first stay. Each villa has a unique concept, and I enjoyed the private open-air bath. The large public bath offered a variety of options, and I ended up soaking for a long time after quite a while. The meals were delightful, especially the eel dishes, which were more than satisfying. It was unfortunate that I arrived late. Next time, I’d like to stay in a different Room.

    It was an accommodation where I had the best time!

    The room's garden had an onsen, which was very relaxing. Additionally, the onsen located a bit away from the hotel offered a variety of options and was excellent. The service was attentive, making the stay very comfortable. The meals featured various dishes using eel, which were delicious, though I found the portions slightly large for me. Stepping into the garden of the room allowed me to hear the gentle sound of the river flowing nearby and insects chirping at night. It was delightful to enjoy these sounds while soaking in the bath. I would definitely like to stay here again.

    Among the many hospitality accommodations, the ambiance of Sosuikyo is exceptionally outstanding.

    We chose "Tekkei" from the 12 detached rooms available. A bouquet for our wedding anniversary was subtly placed on the room's table, and we truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture from the accommodation. This detached room, beautifully incorporating iron elements into its design, features a living room, bedroom, and a Japanese-style room—offering much more space than our home. There are plenty of photo-worthy spots throughout. For large families, futons can be laid out in the Japanese-style room; however, we enjoyed our last coffee before checkout here while admiring the courtyard view. "Tekkei" is located at the far end of the Sosuikyo premises near a main road, so unfortunately, car noises were slightly noticeable in the open-air bath—a minor downside. For dinner, we visited "Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa" and had their "Kaiseki Shimomisou." The appetizers included a seasonal five-item platter (unagi aspic jelly, summer vegetable vinegar dish, crispy bone crackers, unique unagi dried fish snack, and classic grilled liver) accompanied by a small bowl of mozuku vinegar. The sashimi course featured five types of rare local fish: tuna (maguro), amberjack (kanpachi), sweet shrimp (amaebi), scallop (hotate), and sea bream (tai), served with locally sourced tamari soy sauce. Next came unagi-dashi-infused rolled omelet ("umaki") followed by crispy grilled white eel ("shiroyaki"). A rare treat was unagi tempura—similar in texture to anago—and for the main dish: hitsumabushi! You can freely refill dashi broth or condiments to enjoy various combinations. By dessert time—a refreshing strawberry sorbet—we were completely full. Back at our room intending to soak in the onsen after dinner...we ended up dozing off on bed instead! To make up for it though—we woke early next morning to fully enjoy soaking in their open-air bath with natural hot spring water flowing directly from its source. Showers are available indoors within private shower booths. Breakfast was served at "HINOMORI," a charcoal-grill restaurant next to reception. A tray featuring traditional Japanese breakfast items like grilled mackerel (saba), lotus root kinpira stir-fry & soft-boiled onsen egg arrived alongside freshly scooped rice prepared using earthenware pots by attentive staff members themselves! Miso soup offered here called “Sōhei-jiru” contained chewy wild boar meatballs—a first-time experience yet delightful discovery indeed paired perfectly w/ fragrant Iga-grown rice whose taste left us wanting seconds immediately afterward complemented further via TGK-special soy sauce adding refreshing touch overall dining affair altogether! Post-meal exiting HINOMORI passing through reception area female staff member handed over basket containing coffee pot suggesting leisurely enjoying brewed beverage back inside respective accommodations later-onward showcasing utmost hospitality-oriented service approach consistently maintained throughout entire stay duration itself!     Thank you for a relaxing time.

    The facility was excellent, and the soothing scent of cypress was delightful. The onsen provided an indescribable smoothness that was incredibly comfortable. The staff were kind and attentive, leaving nothing to be desired. Thank you very much. Regarding the meals, this time we had eel kaiseki due to the reservation date. The dishes were very delicious. However, for future consideration, it would be nice if there were a bit more volume in the portions. Additionally, it would have been appreciated if there was a sense of exclusivity for accommodation guests at the seating area. There were many other diners (as expected from such a popular place), which made it feel less relaxing in that aspect. Next time, I look forward to trying another menu option like charcoal-grilled aged meat in a different style of building. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience!

    It was a wonderful celebration for my dear father-in-law.

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my father-in-law's special occasion. He was very pleased, which made it a wonderful experience. Specifically, he enjoyed the quality of the hot spring water and the Italian dinner. Personally, I appreciated that each room had a different concept, making it enjoyable. I think access to and usability of the large public bath (such as moving around in yukata) could be improved for an even better experience. Next time, I would like to stay in a different room!

    This time we chose the Room “Shiki.” It was even more wonderful than we had imagined from the photos. The layout was very easy for us to use, and it felt truly relaxing. We’d love to stay in this Room again. Dinner, as always, was at HINONORI. We were moved by the rich soup made by slowly simmering a large amount of onions, and even the batter on the broad bean fritters was delicious. We were also amazed by the sea urchin vinegared rice that made the most of black basil’s aroma—and never would have guessed it had been steamed with magnolia leaves laid underneath for fragrance. The rich sea urchin and the tagged rock oysters were, of course, from Mie Prefecture as well. With a strong focus on local ingredients and carefully prepared seasonal produce, every dish had a story—another series of delightful surprises that left us completely satisfied. The alcohol selection is fun, and we also look forward to their handmade non-alcoholic options. We stay at Hotels 2–3 times a month, and breakfast is often buffet-style. Even when there are many items, you can usually tell some are commercial products—but here, even the blackberry sauce for dessert was homemade. At home we also avoid pre-made foods and cook with seasonal ingredients ourselves, so we understand how much work it is to strain out seeds. Because they take the time without relying on commercial products, we could enjoy the true flavors with peace of mind. After checkout, we visited their farm. We recognized some of the salad vegetables and even the edible flowers served alongside them. Elsewhere we avoid eating flowers because pesticides can be a concern—but here they’re pesticide-free, so it felt safe. For us—who simply want to eat good food that tastes great—this made us very happy. Both our welcome and send-off were extremely thoughtful, and you can truly feel how much they value their guests. We’d love to complete all 12 villas—next month will be our eighth—and we’re already looking forward to visiting again. Thank you very much.

    Exciting Birthday Trip

    This year, I was able to make a reservation at Aqua Ignis Bettei Yunoyama Onsen Sosuikyo, which I couldn't book three years ago. The excitement started from choosing the room! It was a special occasion for a birthday and just three days before surgery. The room was satisfying, and the meals made with delicious ingredients from Mie Prefecture were perfectly cooked over flames, making it a delightful experience. During the rainy season, we encountered ants strolling in our room where we planned to relax. Since it's an accommodation surrounded by nature, it was surprising but understandable. The staff promptly addressed the issue and even offered us to change rooms. Thanks to this offer, we got to see other rooms as well—great preparation for our next visit! All the rooms were wonderful, and moving between them went smoothly. Despite staying only one night, it turned into an invaluable experience. The amenities were satisfying overall; however, the towels and bathrobes felt slightly outdated—just a minor disappointment in an otherwise excellent stay at this high-hospitality accommodation. At checkout, we received Diamond benefits and birthday gifts that added extra joy to our stay! Thank you very much!

    A Blissful Moment

    We enjoyed a blissful time escaping from our busy days and doing nothing. It was reassuring to park the car right next to the villa. The room had a fresh wooden scent and was very spacious. There was a Japanese-style room, but we didn’t use it. The open-air onsen with natural hot spring water felt smooth and pleasant, though it would have been nice if there were handrails. We were happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary. The meals were delicious, especially the meat and tagged oysters. Regarding dining attire, it would be great if wearing loungewear inside the facility was allowed... After breakfast, we received a basket with coffee and cookies? which we enjoyed in our room. It felt very hospitable. We were delighted to receive a gift as Diamond members as well! The shuttle service to Aqua Ignis allowed us to enjoy Kataoka Onsen and cakes there too—it was wonderful! All of the staff members were kind, making this an accommodation we’d love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

    A memorable and relaxing stay with warm hospitality

    We recently stayed at your accommodation with a group of six, booking three villas. Each villa had a unique and elegant design, and all the rooms were beautifully refined, leaving every member of our group highly satisfied and impressed. The outdoor baths attached to each room were especially popular among us. One of our companions had sprained their wrist before arrival, but after soaking in the onsen, they experienced significant recovery and expressed amazement and gratitude for its effects. We enjoyed dinner at the "HINOMORI" restaurant. The aged steak prepared by the chef, along with fresh seafood dishes, was exceptional. Even the onion soup, salad, and tomato juice received high praise from everyone in our group. We all appreciated the warm hospitality while enjoying a delicious and delightful evening together. Overall, we were deeply impressed by the heartfelt hospitality and thoughtful attention provided by everyone at your ryokan. We extend our sincere gratitude and look forward to visiting again in the future!

    It was a wonderful accommodation!

    During a weekday of Golden Week, I stayed in the CHOSEKI Room with my husband. We chose this room because we heard about its unique stone walls. Check-in was done in the room, and since it was for both of our birthdays, they prepared a small bouquet for us, which made us very happy. As dinner time was set, we quickly took a buggy to the large public bath at Aqua Ignis. The buggy service was prompt both ways. Dinner was at HINOMORI, a wood-fired steak restaurant just a short walk away. It had an excellent atmosphere suited for adults; many couples were enjoying wine pairings and more. The staff were friendly and engaging, showing ingredients before serving dishes—a nice touch to their great service. According to online information, the course costs 25,000 yen per person and features high-quality ingredients with attention to detail. However, many appetizers were served in bite-sized portions; while the lobster dish felt substantial enough, I wished the main steak portion had been more filling—especially for men who might find it insufficient despite additional servings being offered. My husband ended up having multiple helpings of the final rice dish! That said, as we booked at a discounted price during their sale period, we were satisfied overall with everything except portion sizes—the ambiance and service were excellent. Breakfast featured freshly cooked rice accompanied by various delicious side dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. After breakfast, the manager handed out baskets containing coffee and small treats near reception so that guests could relax back in their rooms until check-out time—a thoughtful gesture. The room itself was spacious enough for two people; we enjoyed drinks from the fridge while repeatedly soaking in our private open-air bath—pure relaxation! We also took plenty of photos of this unique stone-walled room. Since it was May when we visited walking barefoot along hallways felt refreshing too! We’d love to stay in another type of room next time—thank you very much!

    First Time in Mie

    I have always admired Aqua Ignis and finally got the chance to stay here. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I stayed in the "Shiki" room, which was so beautiful it felt like being in an art museum. The Onsen was absolutely amazing—I went in about 10 times! Meals were served by Shidaime Kikukawa, and I had the best eel of my life. Thank you so much; it was truly moving. There seem to be 12 different types of rooms, and I’m determined to try them all before I die. This is such a wonderful accommodation that I want to bring my family next time!

    This stay was satisfying as always. Thank you very much. This time, we stayed in the Tsuchiai Room. The view from the living room was great, and the spacious bathroom area was very convenient to use. The Onsen, of course, was excellent. It would be nice if towel warmers could be installed in the future. Dinner at Al-checciano was delicious and just the right amount, and the staff left a good impression as well. However, breakfast this time felt a bit underwhelming for me personally. In the past, we’ve had accommodations where we went specifically to meet certain butlers—room, Onsen, meals + people made it special for us. At Sosuikyo, while there aren’t many opportunities to interact with staff members directly, knowing that they “know us” or “remember us” adds a sense of comfort and excitement. After checking out and purchasing bread or sweets before having soba lunch nearby—H-san spotted us afterward and waved at us! That made me so happy. We look forward to staying again!

    Visited the Wax Room.

    I stayed here the night before driving at Suzuka Circuit. The building's design was impressive and memorable, but I felt that the dinner and breakfast did not quite match that level of impact. Enhancing the meals would make for an even more unforgettable stay.

    I had a comfortable and satisfying stay!

    Welcome to Yunoyama Onsen Sosuikyo for the first time. Although the location was a bit hard to find, I immediately enjoyed a blissful moment soaking in the open-air bath with a beer in hand upon arrival. After taking a nap in the room, it was time for dinner. It would be helpful if the menu options for dinner and breakfast were displayed more clearly. Both dinner and breakfast had simple yet delicious flavors. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality. I will visit again!

    Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or girls' trips. Find a sale price and make a Reservation. This time, we stayed as sisters. The room at Shiki had soft lighting and a spacious bath edge, making it very convenient. We enjoyed going in and out of the bath with our favorite water quality. A relaxing trip filled with endless chatting. For the first time, we had breakfast in the room—it was delicious! We also found last-minute availability for strawberry picking at Aqua Ignis and had a satisfying experience. We bought plenty of bread to take home as well. Looking forward to staying again soon!

    The comfort of the Room and the hot water were excellent, but the meals were disappointing.

    The room was comfortable, and the hot water was excellent. Dinner at Aqua Ignis's Al-checciano was disappointing. For breakfast, only the white rice was good; everything else was subpar. If aiming for a high-end clientele, this level of cuisine is unacceptable.

    Thank you very much.

    The accommodation was clean, and the hospitality was excellent. Fruits and drinks were provided, which made the children happy. We appreciated the thoughtful consideration for our child with allergies. The drink service after breakfast was also delightful.
