    All the staff were wonderful, including the front desk team, the waitstaff, and the Shuttle Service staff. The Room was spacious and felt very open. The in-room bath was easy to adjust to the right temperature and was excellent.

    The Room was spacious and clean. The Onsen temperature was just right, and it felt great to soak. Since it’s in nature, we did see some large insects a few times, which was the only thing we weren’t used to, but staff came right away to take care of them. Overall it was wonderful and everyone liked it so much that we were even talking on the way home about wanting to stay again. However, one issue was that our allergy information hadn’t been communicated for either breakfast or dinner, so we had to change the menu both times and were told they would prepare alternatives on the spot. It could have been dangerous if we hadn’t spoken up, so since other guests may also have allergies, I’d like this to be properly improved.

    A spacious, stylish ...

    A spacious, stylish Room. The lush green trees seen through the large windows were wonderful. The open-air bath had excellent water quality and the temperature was just right—so relaxing. All of the staff were very kind and lovely. We chose the counter kappo dining, and each dish prepared right in front of us and served with plating and explanations was deeply flavorful and delicious. With the Shuttle Service, we also visited Aquaignis, where we fully enjoyed the large public bath, spa treatments, bread, desserts—everything. At the summit of Mt. Gozaisho (reached by ropeway), it was a bit cooler and perfect for a pleasant walk. I’d love to visit again in a different season. If we choose another Room that caught our interest and select different meals, it feels like it would be a completely different trip. Though honestly, the counter kappo was so good that we might choose it again. My mother was also very happy. Thank you very much. The breakfast rice, grilled nori seaweed, and local chicken miso soup were especially delicious.

    Both the Onsen and dinner are wonderful.

    Every Room is comfortable, and the Onsen is outstanding. It had been a little while since our last stay, but the warm hospitality from the experienced staff was a pleasure. We had dinner at HINOMORI again this time. They carefully prepare creative dishes using fresh, high-quality ingredients—an excellent selection of wonderful cuisine. The three staff members work as a great team, so service is smooth. They also kindly answer even amateur questions about ingredients and cooking methods. Thanks to them, our family meals become richer every time we visit. On our second-to-last visit, my daughter learned how to make karasumi and was able to make it herself. As always, the dishes are made with great care to bring out the best in each ingredient. We were very satisfied again this time. The points mentioned in Reviews—such as about the Room—had been improved. It’s around our eighth stay now; this is an Accommodation we love where we can always relax with peace of mind.

    The Onsen was also great.

    Each Room has its own theme, and since I work in an iron-related field, I chose to stay in Tetsukei. There is a Japanese-style room in the center, which felt convenient even with a baby. The Onsen was also wonderful and helped me feel refreshed. It’s easy to access from the station, so I recommend it! They kindly provided Shuttle Service and luggage storage, which was very helpful.

    It was great.

    We had a relaxing stay. The meals were delicious, and the bath was an Onsen, which was wonderful. The tatami Room was very comfortable. Thank you.

    Thank you again for your continued support.

    Since my last stay, the towel thickness I had hoped for and the bath temperature control have been perfect, and I truly feel this Accommodation has become even more wonderful. If possible, it would be nice to be able to go out for dinner in a samue or similar outfit—it would mean no need to change clothes and would add to the atmosphere. I will be back again.

    Refresh

    The Room with a railway view also has a tatami area and is very spacious, and the semi-open-air bath features free-flowing hot spring water straight from the source with plenty of water. Dinner at Al Checciano was delicious, making the most of the ingredients, and it was truly refreshing! On the way home, we also bought bread from Mariage de Farine inside Aquaignis. That was very delicious as well.

    I felt down after being criticized harshly.

    In my personal opinion, the service felt formal overall, and I hardly sensed any warmth. As for the Italian restaurant, my husband was confused because we couldn’t tell where we were supposed to sit, and an older female staff member pointed it out in a harsh tone. In the end, I apologized just to smooth things over, which left me disappointed even before the meal, and I couldn’t enjoy the food. The Japanese cuisine was very delicious. Also, it was dark outside the Room and along the route from the parking area (where we used the Shuttle Service) to the dinner venue and large public bath, and some areas were under construction, so extra caution was needed. We tripped over cones multiple times. If guests are told “Please watch your step,” I feel it would be safer to provide better lighting or simple portable lights. We used the Shuttle Service many times, but there was no improvement; I turned on my phone’s flashlight, but it still felt too dark and unsafe. Another point: I appreciated having our luggage and Room amenities carried for us, but it looked like a heavy burden for the female staff members, which made me feel uneasy. It is extremely close to Yunoyama-Onsen Station. For reference: there is almost no lobby space at this Accommodation, so there isn’t anywhere to relax before check-in or after check-out. However, it was helpful that they provided Shuttle Service even though we arrived around 1:00 PM. The drop-off location is not at the Accommodation itself but at the same Facility as both the dinner venue and large public bath (a few minutes by car). At that Facility, they kindly stored in our Room refrigerator a cake we bought—despite purchasing it from an unfriendly clerk at what is supposedly a cake shop—which was a great service. As mentioned above regarding that Facility’s Italian restaurant: comments like “Not that way! The table with the menus! I told you!!” made me feel down right after arriving. The large public bath is also in that Facility; its changing area is spacious with high ceilings, and the staff there were kind. In addition, early in the morning we could hear car noise and found it difficult to rest well. This is only my personal impression, but I hope it helps those considering staying here.

    This is a retry.

    After my previous stay, I mentioned that the bath water was very lukewarm and that the bath towels were thin and uncomfortable. This time, the water temperature was just right, and the towels had been replaced with thicker ones—I was truly impressed that my Review had been taken into account. The dinner at the kappo restaurant was outstanding; every dish was exceptionally delicious, and I was very satisfied. Please pass my compliments on to the head chef. The staff service was flawless as well, and after this stay, it’s Done—I will definitely return. I will be sure to visit again.

    We had a very comfortable stay. Perfect for a quiet getaway. The service was attentive and thorough. The Room size was just right—not too large. It felt like being at home. There were a few books that seemed to match the Room’s theme, but we would have preferred books with cleaner content.

    The staff provided warm, welcoming service, making this Accommodation a very comfortable place to stay.

    Each staff member was friendly and courteous, and the service at this Accommodation was excellent. However, the Room felt cold no matter how high we set the heating, possibly due to drafts. Also, since the open-air bath in the Room is a type with shower only, we recommend visiting during a warmer season. In addition, we had an issue where only cold water came out of the shower, which was very uncomfortable in the cold. We recommend checking that hot water comes out before using the shower. It was a bit disappointing because the food and service were otherwise wonderful.

    Dinner was a bit disappointing...

    The dining experience is 2 stars. The Japanese breakfast was wonderful, and I enjoyed it in a bright dining room with a pleasant atmosphere. If it had been only that, it would have been 5 stars, but dinner was disappointing. I was contacted and advised to make a Reservation for the evening, and I chose an Italian restaurant from the options provided. As soon as we sat down, I sadly noticed that the carnations on the table were badly wilted. The main server seemed to be new; I understand that can happen, but the service felt mechanical. We were the only guests throughout, so the restaurant was quiet and somewhat lonely—I would have appreciated someone who could lighten the mood with friendly conversation about the food or similar. I am grateful they accommodated gluten-free requests to some extent, and the appetizers were delicious, but my spirits never recovered after seeing those wilted flowers. The Onsen itself was excellent quality, and I could relax in an interior style I like—the high ceiling and white-painted walls were especially nice. It seems to be a Room themed around lacquerware; the curated books and lacquer tableware were lovely as well. In particular, I wanted to buy one of the coffee cups. One concern was the concrete floor in the open-air bath area: it didn’t feel good underfoot, and imagining slipping made me uneasy. Placing wooden slats or similar up to the tub would feel safer. The staff were polite throughout, and I could tell they genuinely cared about making my stay comfortable. Although it is a small Accommodation, there are many high-quality dining options (if what we experienced is typical, however, I would not recommend the Italian restaurant), and we bought bread and cake to take home—they were delicious.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    This is my first time posting a Review, but this was such a wonderful Accommodation that I couldn’t help but leave one. Not only was the Room excellent, but I was truly impressed by the staff’s attentive and courteous service. Including the Shuttle Service to Aqua Ignis, it was an outstanding experience—almost more than we deserved. Also, the sweets and bread at Aqua Ignis are genuinely delicious, and it’s within walking distance as well, so I highly recommend it.

    A relaxing place to unwind.

    Because it’s nearby, the travel time is minimal, and I truly appreciate being able to enjoy high-quality Onsen water. I visit about once a year, and this was my fourth stay. I’m still far from completing them all, but someday I’d love to stay in every Room. The Mokoku Room we used this time had a warm wooden feel that made it easy to relax, and it has become my favorite so far. On my fourth visit, I went to Kataoka Onsen at Aquaignis for the first time, and it also had a wonderful atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and once again it was a highly satisfying stay. I will definitely return again—thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Eel and Onsen

    The eel at the neighboring eel restaurant tasted earthy and fishy. It’s a restaurant affiliated with the Accommodation. Since I ate there before checking in, I was worried about going to the Accommodation. However, once I arrived, the Room was very comfortable. The natural Onsen in the open-air bath was especially amazing. Breakfast was also very delicious. Next time, I’d like to have dinner in Yokkaichi and then stay here again.

    Combine with a visit to Ise Shrine.

    Visited during a trip to Ise Shrine. Last year, I stayed at the affiliated accommodation ESHIKOTO, and this time returned to Sosuikyo after a while. Previously stayed in "Kakido," but this time chose "Shiki." The attention to detail is evident throughout, and each room has its own unique concept with no two rooms being the same, which makes me want to stay again. For meals, dinner featured eel and breakfast was a traditional Japanese set meal—both were very satisfying. The main reason for revisiting Sosuikyo this time was the onsen. The Yunoyama Onsen water is excellent—silky texture with a faint sulfur scent. The water temperature is not too hot, allowing for long soaks. Having an open-air bath in the room lets you relax without worrying about others while enjoying the winter scenery of Mount Gozaisho—a true luxury. However, one point of concern was signs of aging that were noticeable this time but not during my previous stay. While each room's unique concept might make repairs challenging, tiles on the floor in front of the bathroom were damaged and caused color transfer onto towels placed there. Guests wearing white socks should be cautious. Looking forward to visiting again and trying out another room!

    We had an amazing time.

    The quality of the Onsen was excellent, and I felt very relaxed enjoying it as much as I wanted at any time. The Room's interior and amenities were lovely. Although I did not include meals, there was a soba restaurant on the premises that had a very calm atmosphere and served delicious food. I would love to stay in a different Room next time!

    The hot water and meals were absolutely satisfying.

    The day before, we stayed at another Onsen and were satisfied with it, but as soon as we arrived here and entered the open-air bath, we felt that the water at Kataoka Onsen was even better! We can't quite explain why, but it was truly relaxing! We were able to enjoy multiple leisurely baths and were very satisfied. Additionally, the dinner made with Mie Prefecture's abundant local ingredients was delicious. The straw-grilled pufferfish stood out as a memorable dish since it was our first time trying it prepared this way. It made us want to try dishes from other seasons too, so my husband and I are already talking about coming back. The bedding was also comfortable. However, one issue we faced was that the living room felt cold... Despite having large windows, there were only thin curtains installed. The partition leading to the washroom connected at the top, making the space feel open but causing us to notice that the air conditioner seemed small for such a large room (it was set at 31°C). Even with both an air conditioner and a De'Longhi heater running, we still felt chilly after getting out of the Onsen for a while... We ended up using bathrobes as lap blankets. This might be something worth improving.

    Kuro-Urushi

    First visit in December We were healed by the warm and gentle Onsen. This time, we enjoyed Italian cuisine. As always, the delicious meals and wine were delightful. The seasonal touch added to our satisfaction. My elderly mother visited for the fourth time. Each stay feels different depending on the Room, so she thoroughly enjoys it every time. Thank you for always providing a pleasant stay!

    This was my first time using this service.

    I stayed here during a business trip from Tokyo. The food is excellent. Dinner is definitely worth experiencing at least once. I’d love to visit again, but it’s a bit far from Tokyo, which is unfortunate. If you live in the Tokai region, I highly recommend visiting!

    Another perfect day!

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. This was my third stay at Sosuikyo, staying in the Kodo Room. I was amazed by the earthen walls and the spaciousness of the room, which provided a truly extraordinary experience. The staff's exceptional service, unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere, made me think once again, "I want to come back!" even on my third visit. I'm now more determined than ever to complete my stamp card! For dinner, we enjoyed an Italian course meal at Aqua Ignis. While I initially thought it might feel a bit formal, the staff's jokes and laughter created a relaxed atmosphere that even my friend—who joined for the first time—enjoyed thoroughly. Next time, I’d love to try dinner at HINOMORI, which has been on my mind for some time! Additionally, when I previously visited and had breakfast here, I loved the pickles (Iga-zuke) served with it. The staff kindly shared details about them so that I could purchase some at a service area on our way back home; however, we both agreed they tasted best when enjoyed at Sosuikyo! We are both huge fans of Sosuikyo and will definitely be staying again soon—thank you in advance!

    First Multiple Night Stay

    I visited for the first time in search of 100% natural flowing Onsen. The source temperature was listed as 43°C, so I expected a comfortable soak, but perhaps due to the season, the water was very lukewarm and disappointing. Despite requesting temperature adjustments four times, it remained lukewarm and I felt like I might catch a cold. The water quality was excellent, leaving my skin smooth. However, it's unfortunate that proper temperature management wasn't maintained for such a wonderful Onsen. The bath towels and face towels were thin and flimsy; they became cold immediately after wiping my body, which was very uncomfortable. I strongly suggest switching to thicker towels. The Room was also cold; even with the heater on maximum and using a panel heater, it didn't warm up sufficiently. If this is how it is in November, winter would likely be unbearable. The Italian cuisine served at dinner was decent; however, the eel dish fell short of expectations—chain restaurant eel might taste better. It was disappointing that there wasn’t "Uzaku" (eel with cucumber). Instead of serving "Mozuku," offering Uzaku would have been preferable. As for service, the owner himself attended to guests and left a very positive impression. Overall, considering these factors—especially inadequate Onsen temperature management—the price feels high for what’s offered in terms of comfort in both Onsen and Room conditions. That said, since both water quality and service were excellent, I’d like to visit again if improvements are made regarding temperature control. Perhaps testing baths during different seasons or times by staying at your own Accommodation could provide valuable insights. Best wishes!

    It was excellent.

    The staff, room, and Onsen were all excellent. The villa felt more like a home compared to a hotel, with a pleasant room fragrance that allowed me to sleep well despite it being my first stay. For dinner, I was guided to a private room where I could enjoy my meal at ease. Thank you very much. However, there weren’t many places to hang bath towels or bathrobes after multiple visits to the Onsen, which made me wonder what to do. Other than that, I was very satisfied. I feel like staying for about two nights next time and relaxing in the room.

    The breakfast was disappointing.

    The service from welcome to farewell was excellent, the quality of the Onsen water was great, and I especially loved the Hinomori dinner—it was absolutely outstanding. However, the only disappointment this time was breakfast. The miso soup portion was less than half a bowl, and when I asked for a refill, I was told it wasn't possible. Additionally, the herring side dish was tough with many bones and only a small edible portion from the belly area. Breakfast used to be so delicious that it made mornings something to look forward to, which makes this all the more disappointing. While dinner deserves a perfect 5 out of 5 points, I had to deduct one point due to breakfast being underwhelming.

    First visit in a year and a half

    Stayed here after a long time. The high-quality hospitality remains unchanged, and the Onsen's water quality is still excellent. However, room service from the restaurant has been discontinued, and a night bar is now open. The breakfast restaurant has changed, but the quality remains at its previous level. As facilities may age over time, I believe allocating resources for maintenance and renovations will be key to maintaining its appeal.

    Not suitable for seniors.

    I took my elderly mother, who loves Onsen, but there were no handrails or places to hold onto in the bath, making it unsafe, so she couldn't use it. While the room's flooring was barrier-free and the hallways and restroom were spacious enough for a wheelchair, there were no handrails at the entrance, hallway, restroom, or bath. The quality of the Onsen, meals, and staff service was excellent; this was the only disappointing aspect. I think it's a wonderful accommodation for young and healthy individuals.

    This was my first stay. I had visited Kataoka Onsen once before for a day trip, and while I considered staying at the separate villa, the unique atmosphere of the "Enclosure" room felt surreal and comfortable. The warmth of the earthy tones was calming, making me wish for a multiple night stay next time. The onsen here is 100% natural spring water, different from both the villa's spring and Aqua Ignis Kataoka Onsen's spring, so comparing them is highly recommended. Upon arrival, I enjoyed some sweets and visited the bakery to purchase bread—just as delicious as last time! For dinner, I went to Roan Yumiji, which has earned one Michelin star. With limited counter seating available for an intimate experience, I savored seasonal dishes like chestnuts, matsutake mushrooms, Pacific saury fish (sanma), and incredibly tender meat that melted in my mouth—it was all exceptional! Being from Kansai myself made me appreciate these flavors even more. Absolute satisfaction! Note that dinner at Roan Yumiji is only available to guests staying at the villa accommodation; however, you might want to inquire if meal reservations alone are possible—it’s worth it! Breakfast was served at Ishigaki Soba within the villa area—delicious as well—and exclusive to villa guests. Next time I'd love to visit just for their soba noodles too! Other dining options include Italian cuisine, aged dishes (熟成料理), Japanese set meals (和定食), and even eel dishes—all prepared by familiar faces who clearly excel in their craft. With only 12 uniquely themed rooms in total across this accommodation facility—each offering something different—I’d love to try another room during my next visit. Surrounded by nature with soothing river sounds and fresh air alongside 100% natural hot springs paired with exquisite cuisine... this place has become a must-return destination for me!
