    Disappointing Experience at the Nikko Lounge

    This was my first time using the Nikko Lounge, but I found the service during cocktail time from 17:30 very disappointing and unpleasant. A few minutes before 17:30, it looked like all the food was already fully set out, so I went to take some. A staff member shouted at me loudly from the far end of the lounge, saying something like, “Please don’t take anything yet! Only after we tell you!” I have visited many lounges at various city hotels and Resort Hotels, and it has always been normal for guests to start serving themselves as soon as the area is ready and accessible, so this surprised me. What surprised me even more was that although I understood “they only allow it exactly at the start time,” right after I returned to my seat they announced “You may begin now!” slightly before the scheduled time. At that moment everyone rushed in at once and crowded around the food in a frantic scramble. This was my first experience of a lounge like this. The staff’s behavior and even the atmosphere among guests were so shocking that I froze for a while just watching what was happening. - Even if they needed to warn someone, staff should not shout in a voice loud enough for everyone in the lounge to hear. Proper manners would be to come over and speak quietly. - If service has not started yet, there should be clear signage or access should be blocked so guests cannot enter that area. Some Hotels handle it that way. I have never seen or heard of this kind of “ready-set-go” approach. In addition, whether it was cakes at tea time, other dishes, or bread in the morning, many guests took large amounts at once, and items often ran out even while others were still waiting in line—overall an extremely disappointing experience on many levels. Given the location, I did not have particularly high expectations for this lounge; I simply hoped to enjoy some tea and light drinks. However, as I left, I honestly felt that skipping it altogether might have spared me an unpleasant experience.

    I was very satisfied!

    We stayed here for our first fan trip, and both the exterior and the interior were wonderful. We were very happy that our Room was upgraded for four guests. The staff were professional and courteous, which made our stay very comfortable. I was personally pleased to find bath salts among the amenities. For breakfast, we could make a Reservation via QR code at our preferred time, so we weren’t tied to a schedule and could head to the buffet at a relaxed pace. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, all well-seasoned and delicious. With early-bird discounts and campaigns, the price was great value, making this an extremely satisfying fan trip. My friends were also very happy, and we’re already talking about staying here again. We look forward to seeing you next time as well. Thank you very much!!

    Great value!!

    The interior has an early Heisei-era vibe—in a good way! I’d heard there weren’t many foreign guests, but there were some Chinese guests. I sincerely hope the number doesn’t increase. It was a very comfortable Hotel to stay at, which was great!!

    It was a very comfortable Hotel to stay at.

    After getting soaked at the park in heavy rain, we returned to the Hotel drenched. Our shoes were completely wet, but there was a shoe dryer in the Room, so we were able to dry everyone’s shoes. There was also a coin laundry, which made it easy to wash our clothes as well. That night, an earthquake of around seismic intensity 5- occurred, and while we weren’t sure whether we should evacuate from the Room, clear guidance over the in-house announcement system reassured us. For breakfast, it was very convenient that Reservations and buffet queue registration could be done online. We chose the Japanese set meal; it was delicious, and the staff were cheerful and kind, which helped calm our nerves after the earthquake. The open atrium inside the building felt wonderful, and with multiple elevators available we could get on quickly and stay stress-free. The convenience store and souvenir shops were also well stocked and fun to browse. Even though we couldn’t enjoy everything as planned due to the heavy rain—and then had an earthquake—our mood turned around completely and it became a great memory instead. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

    This time we had a M...

    This time we had a Multiple Night Stay for 3 nights! When we requested extra towels and bath towels on the first night, they kindly stocked the additional amount in our Room from the second night onward, which really impressed us. The Room was also spacious and relaxing. For dinner, we used the Japanese restaurant, but the sushi rice vinegar was too strong and we couldn’t fully enjoy the toppings. The other dishes were good.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    We mainly used the pool and lounge. Our child really liked the pool, and we used it for three consecutive days. It was pleasantly compact and very comfortable. The staff helped carry our food and were attentive to ensure guests could relax comfortably. This time we had a Multiple Night Stay of three nights. (Originally two nights, then we extended at short notice before check-out.) When extending, the front desk kindly arranged for us to stay in the same Room. This was extremely helpful. Thank you very much.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    We stayed for two nights to visit Disney. Over the past year or two, we’ve stayed at nearby hotels (Sheraton, Toy Story, Okura, and Funaspo), but considering the price, this Hotel offered the highest level of satisfaction. We’d like to stay again next time. What we liked Close to the station The Japanese breakfast was delicious We didn’t try the Western breakfast, but the bread in the lounge was very good The elevators arrived quickly The staff were kind and helpful Could be improved Although it’s non-smoking, our Room had a noticeable cigarette smell... It would be nice if the lounge breakfast offered a few more dessert-style pastries

    During our summer st...

    During our summer stay, the lounge offered shaved ice service. There were two flavors—matcha and tiramisu—served in three rounds. The kids happily enjoyed it all three times. Since this is a lounge at a Hotel near Disney, it’s nice that children can also use it during cocktail time. Since many families with children likely use the lounge, I think it would be even better to have a few more rice-based options. I remember there used to be something like temari sushi. Even simply adding furikake could make cute onigiri.

    Lounge Access

    Although we used the Nikko Floor lounge this time, the food and drinks felt a bit limited. The selection of alcoholic beverages was small, and the snacks were fairly standard. We felt that a wider variety of food and drinks would have been better. Also, perhaps because we stayed during a peak period, the lounge was extremely crowded and we had to wait. We were not able to relax very much.

    Pool Access

    We used the pool. We were concerned about the shower Facility and cleanliness in the changing room. We would also appreciate it if you could consider improving the air conditioning in the warming room. Thank you for a wonderful time.

    Relax at your own pace

    We had a relaxing stay in the Club Room. Although the lounge was busy at times during the Obon holiday period, there was no time limit, and we enjoyed a luxurious time unwinding while gazing at the ocean and Tokyo Disney Resort.

    Absolutely perfect for babies!!

    A summer trip to Disneyland enjoyed by three generations of our family. We stayed here so we could enjoy Disneyland with our 2-year-old grandchild. This was our second stay with our grandchild. In the Room, they prepared the beds pushed together, so our whole family could relax and feel safe. For dinner, the Japanese restaurant had a kid-friendly menu for our grandchild. The 24-hour convenience store also had a baby-friendly selection. Drinks such as baby barley tea and water were available as well. We also enjoyed the beautiful pool, and there were summer festival activities like games stalls and Bon Odori dancing, along with events for children held in the banquet hall—making it a wonderful time packed with summer fun. The staff were truly warm at all hours and spoke kindly to our grandchild throughout. The summer of 2026 spent by three generations of our family. Thanks to Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay Maihama, we made unforgettable memories as a family. Thank you very much for such a heartwarming stay.

    Simple and comfortable

    We were traveling with children, but there was no Room with a double bed, so we made a Reservation for a twin Room. In our request, we asked if the beds could be arranged together, and they kindly moved them against the wall and pushed them together. There were also kids’ amenities available, which they prepared for us, making our stay comfortable. The building and Facility feel a bit dated, but everything was kept very clean. One minor concern was that the shower took quite a while to get hot water, and even at the hottest setting it was only lukewarm. The bathtub side was fine. We were also able to use the lounge; there were different light snacks depending on the time of day, and we could drop in anytime, which was very helpful when traveling with children. This time we used a pool at another nearby Hotel so we didn’t use theirs, but their pool looked spacious and we would like to try it if we have the chance.

    I love the Hotel’s scent! I heard that the fragrance you use can be purchased at the Hotel, so I’ll look for it next time! If I could make one request regarding the Room, I’d like a place to hang wet towels and sweaty shirts, and a few extra hangers.

    We stayed for two ni...

    We stayed for two nights on a family trip during summer vacation. The Room was spacious enough for four people, and the extra bed was wide and comfortable, so we slept very well. We used the breakfast buffet, and it was easy to get in line on our smartphones, so we were seated smoothly. Everything was delicious and excellent! In particular, the live-kitchen omelets, rice balls, hamburgers, and chiffon cake left a strong impression. Our daughter ordered an omelet with plenty of cheese and was impressed by both the chef who helped her and how tasty it was. It felt a bit inconvenient that the bathtub and shower booth were separate, perhaps because we weren’t used to it. However, the view from the bathtub was amazing! Thank you for accommodating our requests! We would love to stay again!!

    The Room was disappointing.

    Since I did not request a specific Room, I understand there were limitations, but it was still a very disappointing Room. It seemed to be next to the neighboring Hotel’s large outdoor air-conditioning units—maybe around 10 of them, though I don’t remember exactly. The Room was very close to them, and even with the windows fully closed the noise was loud. On top of that, there was also noise from ropes related to exterior wall construction (?) starting in the morning. It was not a relaxing stay at all. Even if it was a “no preference” Room, it didn’t feel like a Room that should be offered for paying guests. This was especially disappointing because everything else—the other parts of the Hotel, the meals, and the staff’s service—was excellent. I also used the pool, and it was very clean and nice.

    Great value for money.

    We stayed on a Plan that included access to the lounge and dinner and breakfast buffet. The amenities were well stocked, and the bathroom was clean with excellent water pressure. The Nikko Lounge was only available at La Terrasse, but we were able to relax and spend time comfortably. Although our Plan included the dinner and breakfast buffet, we were very satisfied with the lounge, so even though the buffet had a wide variety of dishes, our family might have been fine without it. We would like to stay again.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    We stayed here for Disney’s nighttime private party as an adult couple. We checked in early, took a nap, and then headed to the park. Our plan was to relax at this Hotel beforehand. We spent some quiet time in the Room, but there weren’t a variety of activities like you might find at an overseas Resort Hotel (which is understandable for a Disney Resort Hotel). We chose the Japanese restaurant for an early dinner, but it didn’t feel particularly special for the price (again, understandable for a Disney Resort Hotel). Nothing was really lacking; if we were younger and traveling with children, we probably would have been very satisfied. It was clean and lovely—an ideal Hotel with everything you need for visiting Disney Resort. The breakfast buffet was delicious. One downside was that while shuttle buses at places like Hilton run until 10:30 p.m., the last shuttle here was at 10:00 p.m., so after the party that runs until 10:30 p.m., we had to walk uphill to the Hotel for about 5–10 minutes. Overall, it was a good Hotel. For Japanese guests tired from walking around the resort, having a proper bathroom where you can soak in a bathtub is essential—and we really appreciated it.

    A bit disappointing.

    I have stayed here many times. This time, perhaps due to changes to the membership program, early check-in was not available, which was a bit disappointing. We used a family Room, and I would be happy to pay an additional fee if it became possible to choose an ocean-side Room. Also, for four people, the bathroom and vanity area felt a little small. I was also concerned about the summer pool fee. JPY 5,000 per adult for one-time use feels a bit expensive. I could understand it if guests could use it as many times as they like during their stay, but with the current pricing I hesitated to use it. Regarding the pool overall—including the service and staff response—I felt other Hotel options offer higher satisfaction. On the other hand, I was very satisfied with the lounge again this time. The male staff member always speaks to us in such a pleasant way, and I truly feel how excellent the service is. This trip was less about visiting Disney and more about relaxing at the Hotel, so we were able to enjoy the lounge even more than usual. One of my pleasures is also looking forward to the lounge menu that changes each time. Overall I am satisfied, but there were some disappointing points here and there. Still, because of how appealing the lounge is, I would like to stay again.

    It was very disappointing.

    I chose the same Room type because I had a great stay before, but this time there were brown spots of various sizes all over the bathtub. When I tried to wipe them off, they wouldn’t come off—it turned out they weren’t stains but peeling on the bathtub surface. How does that happen? Didn’t anyone notice during cleaning? Also, after turning on the Room lights, the light in the wall recess kept flickering—on, blinking, off, on again… It made me wonder if the Room hadn’t been used for a while. I could overlook a few centimeters of veneer peeling from the furniture panels, but overall it was far too bad and made me question the maintenance standards. They did change my Room, but I was exhausted—after arriving, unpacking, and getting ready to take a bath to relax, having to move Rooms really brought my mood down. That said, all of the staff were very kind and provided excellent service.

    Since our Room faced the park side, we hoped we might be able to see the fireworks, but they were blocked by the Hotel in front of us, which was disappointing. We should have checked in advance. Maybe we should have booked the Club Floor. It was too hot, so we ate breakfast and dinner inside the Hotel, and all of the restaurant staff were very kind. Since we can’t visit often, it would be nice if there were clearer postings with Disney information, but we had a great-value stay for three generations. Thank you very much.

    Excellent service

    When my husband mentioned at the front desk that he prefers a firm pillow, they kindly brought us a buckwheat-hull pillow, which was very helpful. The shaved ice in the private lounge we visited on the first day was delicious, and my elderly husband especially enjoyed the Uji Kintoki-style shaved ice. Since we also love coffee, it was wonderful to relax in the lounge and enjoy freshly brewed coffee whenever we liked. The coffee cups felt great to drink from as well. We would love to stay again.

    We stayed as a famil...

    We stayed as a family. The Room was well maintained, and we were able to spend our time comfortably. We had breakfast all three days. At “Tamakagari,” the food was delicious and the staff provided courteous service, so we were very satisfied. On the other hand, at “Le Jardin,” there were moments when the service felt somewhat unfriendly. I understand it may be a busy time, but since mornings are also the start of the day, I would appreciate more attentive service. Overall, it was a satisfying stay. We look forward to future improvements.

    For a special occasion.

    Last time we only came for a meal, but this time we stayed overnight to celebrate an anniversary. My daughter was delighted with the cute birthday plate. The Hotel and staff have such a wonderful atmosphere, and it feels very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a great variety, with so many delicious dishes that I wished they were also served at the dinner buffet. We will definitely come again!

    Room Type with Access to the Summer Sale Exclusive Lounge

    We used the exclusive lounge. It faces both the park side and the ocean side, offering a pleasant view. On the park side, soft drinks were available at any time. At tea time, there were cakes to satisfy a small appetite, and at cocktail time there was a full selection of alcohol (including draft beer). The light meal offerings included ham, cheese, vegetables, and rolled omelet, which was more than enough as dinner for an elderly couple like us. We did not use it during night time. In the morning time, there were croissants, donuts, Danish pastries, and yogurt; since we also went to Disneyland, it was more than sufficient hospitality for an easy breakfast. The Room was park-side. We could even see Cinderella Castle’s projection mapping from slightly behind it, which felt like a bonus. We made wonderful memories and would like to stay again if we have the chance. Thank you very much.

    The open, airy feel of the vaulted ceiling is wonderful.

    We stayed here for my daughter’s birthday last year and loved it so much that this time the three of us—my husband, daughter, and I—booked a Nikko Superior Room and also used the lounge. The open atrium atmosphere and the view from the Room helped us escape our busy daily routine and relax at a leisurely pace.

    We stayed for one night with breakfast included. Since our stay last year, the breakfast buffet menu had changed, and we enjoyed a delicious and pleasant meal again—our family was very happy as well. The staff were as kind and courteous as always, and we were very satisfied. We would like to stay again. As always, highly recommended.

    Great views both outside and inside.

    Thank you for upgrading our Room-assigned Plan to a spacious high-floor Room. We had a wonderful time enjoying the expansive ocean view and beautiful night scenery from the window. The view from the open-air-style elevator also felt refreshing and was great.

    Lounge Access

    My first stay in a really long time since the COVID-19 pandemic. A previous guest’s socks were left in the Room… I had heard there are now two lounges, but depending on the time of day only one was available. I understand staffing shortages, but the atmosphere felt like a cafeteria and was very disappointing. Breakfast was limited to Hotel bread only; everything tasted good, but there was just one toaster. I couldn’t believe there was a line in the lounge. Compared with other Hotels with lounge access, I guess it can’t be helped for the price-to-value. The pool isn’t cheap, but it’s not available at night, and once you leave you can’t re-enter.
