    The staff is wonderful.

    The positive aspect was the staff's service. They kindly lent us towels when going to the public baths and recommended various shops, always providing warm and friendly assistance. The lobby had a very pleasant fragrance, which made me feel relaxed. The Room was convenient to use, and the private bath in the Room was excellent. However, I was disappointed with the smell in the Room. Perhaps due to the air conditioner, there was a musty odor that bothered me. It was quite disappointing compared to the lovely scent of the lobby. As for meals, they were neither particularly good nor bad—just average. The taste was delicious but not memorable in any way. The outdoor bath in the large public bath area felt too small and seemed unnecessary overall.

    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay at Dogo Onsen, and I am very satisfied. Thank you for upgrading the room; both the room and meals were excellent. However, as a personal preference, I found the seasoning of the meals slightly strong since I don't drink alcohol. Even so, overall, it’s worth a repeat visit. Next time, I’d like to come during a more pleasant season. The staff's hospitality truly reflected their care for guests at this accommodation. Thank you very much!

    The Room, amenities, and breakfast were excellent. However, the quality of dinner was not entirely satisfying. It felt somewhat lacking in impact. A straightforward approach that highlights the ingredients might work better. Some staff members provided high-level service, but there seemed to be some inconsistency in service quality.

    Simply outstanding.

    I was able to relax and unwind from stressful days. The private open-air Onsen in the room allowed me to soak at my own pace, which helped relieve my fatigue. Above all, I was deeply impressed by the high level of hospitality from the staff. They were always smiling, graceful, and wonderful. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Beautiful Room and Onsen

    First of all, the building of Oyu is stylish and exudes a sense of luxury. I heard it was built with the concept of "modern hot spring therapy," and I could feel the strong dedication and high quality from the owner, architect, and designer. It has an elegant atmosphere that made me feel wonderful even before entering the building. While it’s not noticeable during the day, at night, soft lights from inside gently illuminate through the outer walls, creating a fantastical and unique beauty. Despite arriving earlier than check-in time, I was warmly welcomed with smiles and guided to my Room ahead of schedule. Thanks to this kindness, I was able to enjoy the large public bath earlier than expected. My heartfelt gratitude for this gesture! The fragrance throughout areas like the front desk and hallways was delightful as well. This time we dined out as there was a restaurant we wanted to visit; however, next time I would love to try dinner at Hotel Oyu itself. There were two types of baskets available for borrowing during walks outside—both were adorable and made strolling more enjoyable! The smiles from all staff members conveyed their spirit of hospitality beautifully. If there’s one thing worth mentioning for improvement—it would be breakfast which didn’t quite exceed expectations. Instead of tuna negi tataki (minced tuna with green onion), perhaps bite-sized sashimi might be preferable; also, while flavorful overall—the beef with maitake mushrooms in lemon vinegar marinade felt slightly tough which might pose challenges especially for older guests’ preferences or ease-of-eating needs… A more classic menu approach could potentially work better here without overcomplicating things unnecessarily? Thank you again sincerely—for making my stay such an unforgettable experience filled w/ warmth & care!! Wishing everyone on staff good health amidst upcoming summer heatwaves ahead too!

    Memories of Dogo Onsen include Onsen hopping and Goyu.

    Shikoku Trip, 3rd Night: My 20s daughter chose "Goyu" as our accommodation in Dogo Onsen. It was easy to reach by rental car, just past the Dogo Onsen Main Building, and the valet service made check-in smooth. The room was clean, and we were guided on how to enjoy Dogo Onsen. With yukata and a bamboo basket, we enjoyed two days of onsen hopping. Even when it rained, they provided umbrellas for peace of mind. The samue (loungewear) was so comfortable that I might have bought one if it had been available at the shop. The large public bath and sky lounge were great, but having a private open-air onsen in our room allowed us to relax without worrying about time. The complimentary drinks in the fridge were also a nice touch! Unfortunately, we couldn’t make a reservation for dinner; however, breakfast was perfectly balanced in taste and portion size—making me think dinner must be delicious too! What stood out most was how cheerful and lively all the female staff members were—it left such an impression. The quality of the onsen water was excellent; combined with the comfort of this accommodation, we could truly unwind. We both agreed that choosing Goyu made this trip unforgettable!     It was absolutely amazing!

    On a rainy Saturday, arriving by car at the entrance after 3 PM, a staff member approached with an umbrella. Upon giving my name, they warmly greeted me with a smile and said, "We've been expecting you," then guided me to the parking lot. They carried luggage for two people and, upon reaching the front desk, another staff member had prepared a cart for our bags. The luggage was loaded onto the cart and taken directly to the Room for check-in! It was quick and stress-free! The meals in the morning and evening were delicious, the staff's service was excellent, and I felt like I must visit again.

    Highly rated satisfaction

    We stayed here on the first night of our Shikoku trip (4 nights, 5 days). We chose "Dogo Miyu" after much consideration among the many accommodations near Dogo Onsen, which we had wanted to visit for a long time. Although some reviews mentioned negative opinions about the open-air bath in the room, we did not find anything concerning. Our room was on the 4th floor, but since it is located on elevated ground, there was no issue with privacy from surrounding facilities, and we could even enjoy a distant view of Matsuyama Castle. The overall design of the facility was tasteful and compact in a good way. Above all, the staff's skills were excellent, making our stay very pleasant. Thank you for perfectly accommodating our requests made prior to our stay. The meals were just right in flavor and portion size for us and were delicious. Among the four accommodations we stayed at during this Shikoku trip, this was undoubtedly number one. We would love to visit again during another season. Thank you very much!

    The private room bat...

    The private room bath available anytime was amazing. Soaking in the hot water, enjoying a drink on the terrace, and taking a nap made me truly happy! Meals were delicious in a calm atmosphere, and the drink prices were very reasonable. Additionally, the thoughtful care from the accommodation staff was incredibly comforting and created wonderful travel memories.

    Fully Enjoy! Refreshing Vacation and Birthday Celebration

    Japanese-modern interior decor, a private open-air bath in the room, seasonal cuisine, and above all, warm and thoughtful hospitality. This was our second stay, and we were just as satisfied as the first time. It was also a vacation to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we were touched by the kind gestures of the hotel staff. We had a truly happy time. The luxurious and beautiful breakfast was also highly satisfying. This is a hotel we would love to visit again! Thank you very much for your excellent service.

    The service was excellent.

    This Ryokan, highly rated in Dogo Onsen, was the perfect choice for my first trip to Shikoku. Before check-in, they kindly stored our suitcases and provided a map of Dogo Onsen along with a brochure introducing local shops, which was very helpful. The spacious room with an open-air bath and a view of Matsuyama Castle was truly relaxing. The meals were satisfying, featuring a variety of creative dishes. I gave one less star for the food only because the breakfast portions were too large for us; however, younger guests would likely find it perfect. The dinner menu also offered a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, and the staff's detailed explanations about each dish added to the experience. After check-out, they even suggested taking photos with the Ryokan as a backdrop—a thoughtful gesture that left us deeply impressed. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again!

    Recommended Spots in Dogo

    The amenities, except for the shampoo products, were perfect. The meals were top-notch. It was a bit disappointing that the sea bream rice wasn't cooked in an earthenware pot, but the taste was flawless. Extremely satisfied.

    It was a wonderful Onsen Hotel.

    This was my first visit to Dogo Onsen. The room was clean and user-friendly, and the open-air bath was well-maintained, making it very enjoyable. I was delighted to find a selection of Shikoku mandarin juices in the refrigerator for tasting. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared with a variety of options, allowing me to replenish vegetables during my trip—it was plentiful and delicious. The highlight of my stay was the professional hospitality provided by all the hotel staff. I would love to visit again!

    The Best Accommodation at Dogo Onsen

    Our trip to Shikoku was to celebrate my mother's 99th birthday and our wedding anniversary. After deciding to stay at Dogo Onsen based on my mother's request, choosing Accommodation Oyu turned out to be the perfect decision. Before our stay, we contacted Accommodation Oyu via email, and they kindly prepared a celebratory red vest for my mother and made various arrangements considering her mobility issues. Additionally, they upgraded our room at the last minute, for which we are truly grateful. The meals were delicately flavored and absolutely delicious. The quality of the onsen was excellent, allowing us to relax thoroughly. It was truly a wonderful accommodation. Although it is not easy to visit often due to its location, I hope we can return someday. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful—thank you very much!

    The private open-air bath in the guest room was visible from other Ryokan rooms, making it uncomfortable for women to use, which was unfortunate. However, the other facilities and service were highly satisfactory.

    We stayed during Golden Week, and the relaxed atmosphere of the accommodation, the staff's subtle attentiveness, and the cleanliness of the room made it a very comfortable stay for us. It is also conveniently located near Dogo Onsen. We would love to stay here again if we have the chance.

    The hospitality, meals, and facility were excellent. If the window panel in the bath could be moved, the night view of the castle might be clearer. The Onsen was wonderful, leaving my skin smooth and at a perfect temperature. I would love to stay again next time.

    A Relaxing Getaway for Adults

    This is a hotel I always wanted to stay at, as it was highly recommended by my stylish friend. I stayed here with the Birthday Plan, and I was pleasantly surprised by the warm greetings during check-in and check-out, as well as the thoughtful birthday wishes during meals. The attention to detail and care provided here is unmatched by other accommodations. The staff's refined hospitality made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The bath exceeded my expectations—it was so pleasant that I found this onsen far better than Dogo Onsen! The meals were also exceptional, featuring delicious dishes made with local specialties from various parts of Ehime Prefecture. Even though I usually have a small appetite, I finished everything on my plate. I highly recommend this accommodation not only to visitors from outside the prefecture but also to residents of Ehime. It truly is a wonderful hotel!

    I visited to celebrate my parents' birthdays, and I was deeply impressed not only by the wonderful cuisine and onsen but also by the exceptional hospitality of the staff. From upgrading our room to the thoughtful gift for my parents at checkout, every detail of the service was impeccable. This was truly the most touching accommodation experience I've ever had.     The best accommodation.

    I stayed at the accommodation I've always wanted to visit, "Goyu," with my daughter this time. The room was lovely, and the private bath had a perfect temperature setting that made it so comfortable to soak in for a long time. The lounge and post-bath area were equipped with high-quality amenities. Breakfast consisted of carefully prepared, high-quality dishes. Unfortunately, as this was a short trip for a live event, we couldn't enjoy dinner this time. I would love to stay again with dinner included next time! Thanks to the Diamond Member benefits, we were able to stay until 12 PM. All the staff members were polite and pleasant—there's absolutely nothing to complain about. It was an exceptional accommodation experience! Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality.

    Warm and welcoming service

    We stayed here for a couple's trip. The room and the entire accommodation were impeccably clean, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented on unique plates, making it visually enjoyable as well. The staff's warm hospitality and thoughtful touches, like the message card in the room, made us feel truly valued at this accommodation. We also enjoyed the panoramic bath and post-bath lounge. While there were drinks and snacks available in the lounge, having small cans of beer would have been an even better addition. It was a 1-night, 2-day stay that turned into a truly memorable trip!

    Anniversary Trip

    We were greeted at the parking lot and guided directly to our room for check-in, which was a stress-free and impressive experience. The room was clean, and we were delighted with the view of Matsuyama Castle from the open-air bath. The meals were full of local flavors and absolutely delicious.     Although walking uphill with a carry-on was challenging, it was a very lovely accommodation. It is rare for me, but I thought this is an accommodation I would like to visit again. I hope to come back someday.

    This was my second v...

    This was my second visit as I had a great experience last time. The purpose of my stay was to relax and soak in the Onsen, so I arrived directly from the airport on the last flight Friday night, checked in, and stayed at the accommodation until checking out Sunday afternoon, except for going out for lunch and dinner. From check-in to check-out, I had a stress-free and relaxing time with impeccable care and service. They were very accommodating when discussing check-in times and even kindly adjusted the refrigerator contents since we don't drink alcohol. Staying for multiple nights makes a significant difference in how refreshed you feel and how much you can unwind. The 8th-floor lounge that I used for the first time this visit was also wonderful. Breakfast was delicious as well. I'll definitely return again!
