    The room was on the ...

    The room was on the first floor. The room was clean and comfortable to stay in. It would be nice if indoor slippers were provided in advance, although they can be brought upon request at the front desk. While using the open-air Onsen, a male staff member walked along what seemed to be a staff-only path, which made it uncomfortable as it was fully visible. This ruined the Onsen experience. There were various types of pillows available to choose from, allowing for a good night's sleep. The food was delicious.

    Sophisticated Accommodation in the Heart of Nature

    The staff's hospitality, the onsen, the Japanese-modern architecture, and especially the dinner and breakfast—comparable to top-tier urban restaurants—were all exceptional. Meals featured fresh local ingredients, making this accommodation truly outstanding in every aspect. The green mountain ridges as a borrowed landscape were stunning, allowing us to feel the joy of being surrounded by nature. Witnessing the Big Dipper from the room's balcony before dawn was an unforgettable experience that will remain in our memories forever.

    Perfect Score

    We stayed in the "Nanko" room on October 20th with my wife. The room was spacious and very functional. The bath (large public bath) was well-equipped, as it is also available for day-use Onsen visitors. The open-air bath in the room had excellent temperature control, and we enjoyed using it comfortably the next morning. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional. For two people over 60, the quality, quantity, and taste were perfect, allowing us to finish everything completely. If I had to point out something for improvement, it would be nice to see some enhancements in the design of the loungewear and drawstring bag provided in the room. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful time. If we have another opportunity, we would love to visit again!

    Celebrating My Mother's 88th Birthday

    We used this Ryokan to celebrate my mother's 88th birthday. Thank you for preparing the yellow celebratory vest at her favorite Ryokan. We are always deeply grateful for your thoughtful hospitality. For elderly guests, the Onsen felt a bit far from the room, so we rated the Facility with 4 stars.

    We stayed here for a 3-generation women's trip with my mother and two daughters to celebrate my mother's birthday! The staff's hospitality and service, the Onsen, and the meals were all absolutely satisfying.

    For your wife's birthday!

    While planning for the next day's schedule, I found Ryokan Umehibiki in the Hita area! Despite the lingering summer heat, the slightly higher altitude made it cool and comfortable to stay! The view from the Room was great, and the private bath in the Room was also nice, but what stood out most was the breakfast! Next year, I plan to visit around autumn by changing the timing!

    The meals are excellent.

    We splurged a little for this stay. The barrier-free, slipper-free Facility was comfortable. The stone sauna was relaxing and enjoyable. However, although we were told there was ice cream available, we couldn't find the location, and the flavors mentioned were not there, which was disappointing. The meals were very delicious and made the trip worthwhile. The male staff member's service was very polite; it seems he has been in Hita for less than a year but his smile and courteous demeanor showed his effort and left a good impression. The female staff member in charge of morning service also seemed attentive, reflecting excellent training. It would have been nice to have more cold water available in the Room. I took photos of every dish as they all looked amazing and tasted great; I ended up only uploading pictures of breakfast because I couldn’t choose!

    It was a very nice accommodation. The onsen had various types, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. It would be even better if there were more places to explore around the accommodation.

    Beautiful life*

    Good stay

    This was my second visit. Previously, I couldn't enjoy the open-air bath due to a late reservation. So, I planned this stay again. The guest room was even more wonderful than the photos. The open-air bath in the room exceeded my expectations and provided great satisfaction. The mountain view from the open-air bath in the room was truly stunning. I added a sauna, which I now think is a must-have option for my family moving forward. The sauna plan offered a very special experience. Thank you so much for the EQ discount as well! I'm happily planning my next vacation already!

    Celebration

    This was our second stay, and we visited with my sister's family. We enjoyed making plum wine and syrup, which we hadn't tried before, and since it was a summer-exclusive plan with seven special perks, we were able to fully enjoy delicious plums! The Room, bath, and meals were all excellent, and the staff's thoughtful attention to detail was outstanding! Not only did they celebrate my niece's occasion but also surprised me with a gift for my upcoming birthday—it made me so happy! Although it rained on the second day, we were lucky to catch a perfect view of the morning mist. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    The building's desig...

    The building's design, materials, and interior were warm yet sleek and unified, creating a very comfortable space enhanced by the aroma. The view from the large window in our room was also fantastic. The meals were intricate, visually stunning, and absolutely delicious. However, for our family, the portions were quite large; it would be great if there was an option for a lighter course. The Onsen we had been looking forward to was amazing—the view from the open-air bath was breathtaking, and we thoroughly enjoyed sweating it out in the stone sauna as well. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again!

    The view is stunning.

    You can enjoy stunning views from both the Room and the large public bath. While I usually stay in Izu, which is close to Tokyo, the grandeur here feels truly different. The only slight disappointment was the food. I was expecting local specialties or seasonal items like ayu fish, but there were consecutive meat dishes. If it’s possible to request specific meals in advance, I would love to visit again.

    The cleanliness of the Facility, staff service, meals, bath, and Room were all satisfactory. The high price was justified. With its senior-friendly barrier-free design, I would like to bring my 90-year-old mother-in-law next time.

    A wonderful Ryokan.

    I stayed for two nights in a separate villa Room. The meals were very delicious, and breakfast was served by a window with a view of the mountains, allowing me to start the day feeling refreshed. The large public bath was excellent, and I could also enjoy sauna activities and the fully equipped stone sauna. Traveling alone from Tokyo, I truly felt rejuvenated both in body and mind. However, one disappointment was that when I requested red wine during dinner, it seemed to have been served at refrigerator temperature, which was unfortunate.

    Although not far fro...

    Although not far from Hita Station, the accommodation offers a wonderful hidden retreat feel in the mountains. The meals were very delicious, and we enjoyed hearing local stories from the staff during service. Spending time on the terrace with a great view while having coffee after breakfast was also delightful. We stayed in a room with an open-air bath, but at night, many insects gathered around the balcony light, so we couldn't use it then. We could only use it in the morning. This is understandable as it's part of nature. The large public bath also has great views and offers enjoyable facilities like stone saunas and hot stone beds. The only disappointment was that after some time in our room, there was an unpleasant fishy smell coming from the air purifier. Turning it off eliminated the odor. While we felt it wasn't necessary to have one, if provided, regular cleaning would be appreciated. Other than that, we had a truly relaxing stay at this wonderful accommodation!

    Plum Blossoms, Cherry Blossoms, and Valleys

    Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the spring breeze at "Umehibiki" in Okuhita. We were delighted to be greeted by blooming plum and cherry blossoms. The plum motifs throughout the accommodation were charming and heartwarming. From our room, we could overlook a beautiful valley, and soaking in the open-air bath with such a view was incredibly relaxing and perfect. We also looked forward to trying both the stone sauna and active bath, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended! Dinner was thoughtfully prepared and delicious, while breakfast included warm vegetables—a rare treat these days when many accommodations offer simpler options. It was truly satisfying. The staff were kind and attentive as well. However, we noticed scratches on the door at our room's entrance, which slightly lowered our expectations before entering. Perhaps it could be repaired for an even better experience?

    After several attempts to make a Reservation, we finally succeeded on our third try and traveled from Tokyo with great anticipation. It was everything we hoped for. The hot spring, the Room, the meals, the service, and the beautiful nature of Oku-Hita were all wonderful. We created many memories and my son and I are both delighted. We felt truly relaxed. We hope to visit again someday.

    Had a relaxing time at a great accommodation.

    I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, and it was a truly satisfying stay with excellent facilities and services. The staff's demeanor and hospitality were outstanding, with every member providing exceptional service. The premises were spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable to spend time in. The large garden was well-maintained, allowing me to relax amidst nature. All linens such as towels, sheets, room wear, and even socks were soft and of high quality. The furnishings were tasteful with great attention to detail, and the mini kitchen corner with a water faucet was very convenient. My birthday was two days before my stay, but I received a plum wine gift during dinner as a celebration. Additionally, I was delighted to receive a boxed premium plum wine as a souvenir upon check-in. Regarding the baths: the two large public baths, open-air bath, stone sauna rooms (both hot stone therapy types), private indoor bath in the room, private open-air bath in the room—each one surpassed any hotel or ryokan I have stayed at before in terms of cleanliness and spaciousness. The thoughtful touches like towels and locker arrangements made it an extremely satisfying experience. As for meals: while each dish had generous portions overall and flavors tended to be on the rich side—which might not suit everyone—it conveyed the accommodation's intention of ensuring guests leave fully satisfied. Among all dishes served though—the sukiyaki made with Oita beef stood out as absolutely exquisite! It left me wishing we could’ve enjoyed it earlier during our meal instead of other items; perhaps offering courses where sukiyaki is served right after appetizers (with slightly larger portions) would cater better towards guests like us who prefer smaller quantities overall but focus on standout dishes. While there are minor requests regarding dining preferences—this accommodation is truly exceptional! I returned home thinking how wonderful it would be next time around bringing my mother here during plum blossom season. Although located far away—we will definitely make plans again soon!     It was a wonderful and pleasant experience.

    The service was excellent, with everyone’s smiles and perfect hospitality. I was also captivated by the flooring. The Onsen and morning mist were refreshing and rejuvenating. The meals were very delicious, but I might have overeaten both in the morning and evening, so reducing the portion size could be a good idea.

    Great!

    It exceeded my expectations. I visited with my elderly father, and the plum blossoms were in full bloom, making the plum grove a delightful sight that he thoroughly enjoyed. The accommodation overall was excellent; however, the only issue was that the meals took a while to be served (perhaps there was an unexpected incident?). Other than that, every dish was meticulously prepared and creatively crafted, making them incredibly delicious. The amenities were thoughtfully selected to bring joy to guests, which truly came across during our stay. Although it’s far away and not easy to visit often, this has become an accommodation I would love to stay at again if I’m ever in the area. We also purchased plum wine from a nearby shop in Ooyama and had it delivered—it arrived promptly the next day. Thank you very much!

    Girls' Trip

    I stayed with a friend and her 2-year-old daughter. The Ryokan provided various amenities such as soap for children, bath toys, and bed guards, making our stay very comfortable. The private open-air bath in the Room offered a stunning view and was incredibly relaxing. The refrigerator was well-stocked with drinks, and being able to choose pillows at night allowed for a great night's sleep—truly the perfect reward trip. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and enjoying coffee on the terrace afterward with its breathtaking view was delightful. The staff were all kind and wonderful, showing exceptional care towards children. I believe this is an incredibly child-friendly Ryokan. I would love to visit again! Thank you so much!

    Completely satisfied.

    I stayed in a semi-suite, and the room was spacious, allowing me to relax comfortably. The onsen and hot stone spa were incredibly relaxing as well. I also received a birthday gift from Yumehibiki, which made my stay at the hotel truly satisfying. I will definitely visit again!

    Wonderful Stays

    I had wanted to visit for a long time, but I couldn't make a reservation until now. Finally, I was able to stay. The staff were all smiling, and their service was courteous, allowing me to have a very pleasant stay. The Onsen was wonderful, especially the open-air bath in the Room, which was more than enough to relieve my daily fatigue. Additionally, the subtle stimulation from the ceramic balls in the hot stone bath was comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend it! The meals were also very delicious, making it a satisfying Property.

    This time, I stayed with my girlfriend. I contacted the Ryokan the day before with the intention of proposing, and they kindly assisted with receiving flowers and other arrangements. Thank you very much. The Room, the food, and the staff's service were, of course, very satisfying, making it a wonderful trip. I would definitely like to use it again if I have the opportunity!

    Comfortable but with some room for improvement.

    The overall stay was comfortable. The staff who assisted with dinner and breakfast were particularly kind and attentive to the children, making the experience very pleasant. However, I felt uneasy about the service as many staff members wore masks, making it difficult to see their faces. After expressing this concern to the staff in charge, they kindly removed their masks, which was appreciated. However, at checkout, another staff member wearing a mask was told by the children, "Are masks scary?" If that was the impression, it would have been more reassuring if they had removed the mask and responded more gently on the spot. Now that the COVID-19 situation has calmed down, I would appreciate it if flexible responses from the customer's perspective could be considered. I could feel the kindness and efforts of the staff, so I look forward to future improvements!

    Sisters' Trip

    I stayed at Yumehibiki for the first time, which I had been curious about since last year. Wanting to see the morning mist, I woke up early and went to the reclining bath in the large public bath. As the sun faintly rose, the morning mist appeared... I was so moved by its mysterious beauty, like an ink painting, that it brought tears to my eyes. The meals were also delicious. Despite being young, the staff who explained during dinner had a strong spirit of hospitality and their natural service was very pleasant. It was impressive to see both young and experienced staff working hard in their respective roles. During check-in and check-out, the welcome and farewell might be expected, but the way they tailored their service and maintained a comfortable distance felt truly pleasant. I've been to various places before, but this has become a property I definitely want to visit again. Next time, I would like to bring my father along. Although it was just a one-night stay, I was able to have a very fulfilling time. Thank you very much.

    One of the hotels I want to make my regular stay

    This was my third time using the service, and I am satisfied again this time. I decided to make a reservation two days ago, and since there was one room available, I immediately made the reservation. The consistent hospitality and cuisine, and above all, the hot water is wonderful. The hot water in the large public bath was clear, with no debris or sebum mixed in, making it very clean. I was impressed by the maintenance. I was truly healed both physically and mentally. A fourth repeat is certain. Thank you to all the staff.

    I used it for a short trip while returning home. Although it was a bit early for autumn leaves and there was nothing around, which felt a bit lacking, the property itself was at a satisfactory level in terms of room, meals, facilities, and services. The interior, with its tatami corridor and Japanese-style decor, had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to relax even when moving to meals or the large public bath. The cuisine was carefully prepared Japanese food with a wide variety, all delicious and gentle in taste, and we could enjoy it without leaving anything behind. The plum wine service was also thoughtful. It was a property I would like to repeat if I have the opportunity.
